Spectacular pizza!!! Every time I'm in the area I go there! Even in Italy it's hard to find pizza this good... well done guys!!!

Had a lovely girlie lunch, lovely freshly made pasta, great Pizza's and a lovely bottle of House white which was very reasonably priced. Will defimately be going back.

My wife and I visited here today after a long absence. We were made very welcome, as always. The menu now features pinsa (Roman-style pizzas), which are oval, rather than round and have a beautiful crusty base. They are delicious and so much better than the tired old sourdough pizza with miniscule topping option that is so prevalent now. The wine list is as comprehensive as ever. Would give six stars if possible.

We visited this place based on recommendations, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, there was a noticeable lack of customer welcome. We waited around 30 minutes just to place our food and drink order. The restaurant appeared to be severely understaffed, with only three people managing all roles — cooking, cleaning, waiting, and bar service. At no point were we asked about any allergies, which was concerning. While the food tasted good, we couldn’t help but question its freshness. The restaurant lacked proper cooking facilities (except from a small gas cooker and oven similar to have we have at home), which raised doubts about how the food was prepared. The portion sizes were also quite small considering the high prices. The cocktails were a letdown - they tasted watered down, lacked any real flavour, and the presentation was poor. To make matters worse, there was a “testing area” right behind our table. A table in that area had a large stainless steel pot half-filled with red sauce and meatballs, which remained uncovered for over three hours. Nobody made any effort to cover it during our entire visit — something clearly visible in the photos I took. It was unsettling and unhygienic. Overall, it was a disappointing experience - especially for the amount of money we spent. Sadly, we don’t see ourselves returning to this place. EDIT: In response to the business’s response of 20/05/2025 Thank you for your response. I just wanted to clarify that some of the points you mentioned about our experience aren’t accurate. I’ve attached seven photos with timestamps that show key moments including our arrival time, as well as when the drinks, starters, and mains were served. - We arrived at 1845 and ordered food and drinks not too long after - Our drinks did not arrive until 1935 with starters at this point - It took 40 minutes for mains to arrive, with us waiting a good deal - The pot with the tomato sauce was spotted near the start and was still left on the table, uncovered by the time we had left. - We did not receive a complimentary dessert. - We had lost faith in the preparation standards and service by the end of the meal so accepted the weak cocktails for what they were Overall, I maintain the experience was poor - with all my reviews, I give a fair and thoughtful account, and on this occasion, the quality and hygiene didn’t meet the expected standards.

The pizza and the pasta is good, service last time was extremely slow (I’m not sure if it was understaffed or not) but the manager was really accommodating and provided great customer service. I probably wasn’t going to come back because it was so slow for the food to come out but the managers attitude was great, redeemed the place for us! Lol

Worst possible place the cutlery and dishes are not cleaned correctly check before you use it the alcohol mixers are made months in advance stale and disgusting and to confirm the restaurant is not closed for renovations like you say

Came here to try the wine tasting with charcuterie board. Fabrizio was a fantastic host and was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines we were trying and what they paired best with on the board. Can't wait to come back to try more of the menu. Cocktails were also delicious.

The staff here are so wonderful, they’ll remember you even if you’ve only been once. Very attentive and warm. Good atmosphere

A sparkling gem in the heart of Croydon. They have good cocktails, a great wine selection, handmade pastas, and tasty pizza, Roman style.

Been here 3 times during my work visits to Croydon and plan to continue over next couple weeks. You can see them making proper Italian food with fresh authentic flavours in front of you. Staff extremely passionate and knowledgeable with their menu. You won't find better tasting food in Croydon, believe me, I've tried!

The sharing boards are great with a group. The pizza is not the best I've ever had, but it's quite good and the superb service and atmosphere absolutely make up for it.

Had probably one of the best lamb ragù I ever had. Atmosphere is very italian and relaxing. Definitely coming back with friends!

First of all "Dog Friendly"!! There are no Dog friendly restaurant except pubs in Croydon! Lasagna is AMAZING! I love Lasagna, and I have to say this is one of the best one. We ordered the special of Pizza. Really tasty! Tiramisu... omg! Delightful!

We booked to go here at the last minute and they were very accommodating. There were plenty of veggie and vegan options and all the food was extremely tasty, plus the wine was delicious. Michelle was our host, she was very patient with our annoying questions and demands, she offered good advice on the wine, and kept us updated on our food as we were in just behind a very large group. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks 😁

Cool little spot in Croydon for a chilled weeknight dinner. Nothing special but also does the job for a decent drink and cosy atmosphere. I only tried the small charcuterie board so I can’t say too much about the food.

Lovely food, staff always friendly and professional. I love the atmosphere and background music- they had some lounge jazz in the background, lovely- the lights... very cosy. They always have menu "specials" and fresh delicacies. They even had "Ichnusa", my favourite Sardinian beer, which you don't find everywhere😍😍 (you need to try it!!) . Highly reccomended!

Me and my partner came in for a quick lunch date the Pizza we were recommended was AMAZING!!! Diavolagigi is a must try the marinated tomatoes made the pizza extra special.The house special tiramisu was also a extra surprise that was a compliment to the ending of our meal 😉 thank you to our server who was the perfect amount of professional and fun ... Having visited this restaurant a few times, the range of pinsa’s on the menu is impressive, with both red and white options available. The starters are definitely worth a try, and there is a good selection of wines on offer. It’s great to have such authentic tastes in Croydon. While the quality of the food is top notch, the prices are a little steep considering the location and portion sizes - Central London prices in Croydon. If it wasn’t for this, we’d visit more often. That said, the restaurant has always been busy and staff have always been warm and welcoming to us.

Food was ok, but overpriced for what/where it was, same for the wine. Service was pleasant but very slow, especially as it was very quiet. Won't be going back

Really nice atmosphere but £12.80 for Margherita pizza on pre-prepared pizza base!!! Really??? Terrible idea. Won't comeback there unless they will bother to make real pizza.

The cocktails are very nice and it's worth going for happy hour when it's 2 for 1. The pizza topping is really tasty, but we got the gluten free base and it was so thick, not proper Italian pizza base. Not sure if the non gluten free ones are the same, but it was really disappointing. They are also pretty pricey for the size. Over all was nice, I would go again.

We found a shard of glass inside the tiramisu and when I called them to inform them so that no one else gets this tiramisu they accused me of lying. I did not even ask for a refund or exchange so I dont know what he thought I would have gained from lying but clearly you cannot trust these people. Never thought they would serve such poor quality food.

This place has been here a while but we were in town for the cinema and wanted to try somewhere different to eat - really pleased we did! Pizzas are really tasty and the drinks menu is extensive. Reasonably priced during happy hour, too. I like what they’ve done with the interior and there’s a nice and relaxed vibe in there - some lone diners, couples, people sat at the bar for a drink. A little haven on George Street!

The food was amazing. We got 2 pizzas, homemade lemonade (that was delicious), and wine. The service was both prompt and friendly. I just would like to suggest that they could have a bigger table. They also have a lovely space with a small wine tasting room. Will definitely visit again if I am in the area .

Really tasty pizzas, however, the service is really bad. I have ordered the pizza with truffle oil, the waiter came back to say there was no more truffle oil and they would use normal olive oil, I asked to change as I ordered that specific pizza because of the truffle oil, however I was refused to change (normal.procedure if you are missing an ingredient is to let the customer to know before and give them a choice). We were in 4 people, when the waiter brought the pizzas, he delivered the wrong pizza to my friends, after they were eating he came back and said the pizzas were exchanged. Didn't bring napkins nor offered any sauces or olive oil.

Exciting new place, bringing something fresh to the high street. The staff was very nice but the food was a bit of a let down. I had the day's special which was a lasagne, it was more lasagne sheets and very little meat or sauce...I also had the tiramisu in jar and must say it ranked at the lower end of the many tiramisus I've had. My friend had the pizza and says it was good so I'll be back to try that...

What a little gem in the centre of Croydon. Had a fabulous meal, the food was fresh and delicious and staff were attentive.

Fantastic venue, with just the right amount of music. Delicious fresh food was served, we got their bruschettas and 2 pizzas with an amazing house wine. Thr food was fresh, flavourful. Omar was our host at the table and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Will definitely come again for it's other experiences like wine tasting! Highly recommended.

We haven't been here for a while, but the pizza has really gone down hill. The base was dry, maybe a tad burnt, and the toppings were sparce. It's a real shame.

Booked a table weeks in advance for Valentine's Day. Was today emailed by Basil & Grape to say our table had been cancelled with no further explanation. There was no sign of an apology, any sincerity or professionalism. This is either the result of self serving behaviour or total ineptitude.

Top staff, lovely wine and food is excellent, fresh and waiting times are very short. The lasagne is outstanding.

Went there for a small reunion, the food was delicious and the service was great. I was doing dry January so can't comment on the wine personally but from what my friends would recommend it.

Food took a very long time to arrive. It was too salty. The Food did not have a wide selection as a traditional Italian restaurant, it was also a salty. It was bitter taste. The only saving grace was the dessert afrogato. Despite it taking a long time to arrive at our table.

Do not bother with delivery, it turned up cold and portion sizes (topping quantity) were underwhelming and it took its time. It's a shame as I was looking forward to visiting in person, not so much now.

Good vegan options and friendly staff

Niet gezellig. De “hokjes” zijn niet fijn, je kunt daar niet lekker zitten als je met 4 personen bent. Geen pasta alleen pinsas, dus klein uitgevallen pizzas… De geitenkaas/peersade stelt maar weinig voor. We komen niet meer terug.

The only thing to be wary of is the service charge. Been here several times can't fault it. The service charge should be a choice not mandatory.

We ate here with the whole volleyball team and we absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was delicious, cosy atmosphere and friendly service. We had issues with the accommodation and they let us stay until close meanwhile we were sorting it out. Great experience all around!

Very friendly little bistro with attentive friendly staff and good food in generous portions. I shared one of their sharing boards and it was super, cold meats, cheeses, olives, bread etc very tasty, especially the walnuts and goats cheese. The goats cheese salad was tasty also, if a little sparse on the goats cheese.

Eccezionale ottima cucina e bellissimo locale gestito magnificamente persone serie e profrssionali lo consiglio a tutti se passate per East croydon non potete non mangiare li almeno una volta è come andare a roma e non vedere il Colosseo da pazzi.
