Came here a few weeks ago and the staff were really nice, politely letting us know haddock is smaller which did know but good to make people aware incase they aren't and they gave us an extra chunk aswell as the main fillet maybe because the haddock was extra small or just because we were obviously sharing but it was just really sweet. Everything tasted really good. Would definitely return. Tiny bit small so a bit of a squeeze especially when people decide to sit on the waiting bench to eat their meal as standing infront of them is awkward but otherwise you're in the way of the door but can't be helped not shops fault, would just recommend only sending one person in if possible and not trying to eat in.

There's a new Sheriff in town and he lives in Bartlett Street. My brother recommended this fish shop after our previous local seemed to diversify into other products. Friendly welcome as my brother's lightly battered large, and my 'drown it in batter' large was prepared. Friendly chatting with likeminded patrons waiting for freshly prepared requests. Time flew by, as we said our farewells with wrapped dinner to go. Bruv had the curry sauce, which was nice, I admit to trying supermarket mushy peas from various places at the moment to take back with me next week (photo.) Fish was fantastic. I will go back when I return. Bartlett Street, dix points.

Tried Bartlett chip shop good Friday. And what can say other than wow. Food was great fish just melted in your mouth. chips were hot and fresh. Fishcakes are also unreal the prices were good too. The staff/ owners are very polite and to say it was good Friday they were very busy but got my order out quickly so well done Bartlett street chippy. Will be returning.

We went for a visit as a family while we were there,very nice service and food even better.. We all love fish and chips and it was very nicely cooked and the curry sauce was very nice aswell..we live in Scotland and don't get this quality of food near us.

Tried Bartlett Street Fish shop after I missed good meals for such a long time. Fish and chips is perfectly done, flaky cod with scrumptious chips and the service is lovely. Staff is very polite, so I don’t mind waiting in the Queue. Amazing Prices ! Timings are not showing properly on Google however I’ll add Timings below (takes me extra time lol but it’s worth it) ,if you love Bartlett Fish Shop please visit you won’t be disappointed !!! Best fish shop in Darlington, simple as that! Ordered 2 lightly battered fish, all ready, freshly cooked in 5 mins, with chips & a carton of their lovely mushy peas, delicious. The always smiling staff are happy to help and advise, and with plenty to choose from on the menu, you definitely won't go hungry.

Great food, especially the fish. The chips are a little odd in being the size of fries, but being "proper chips" in spite of this. If you like your chips chunky, or even just a little on the thick side, these won't be for you.

We like to try a different chippy every Friday. Bartlett Street was recommended to us and I can see why it was. Lovely succulent flaky fish. Gorgeous batter that stayed crisp to the very last bite. The chips were really nice. Not in the slightest bit greasy. Great price too. Less than a tenner for both of us. We will certainly visit again....... Updating this review to say it is by far the nicest chippy we have visited. Lovely staff and great fish and chips. Well worth the 40 mile round trip.
