Barry Sidings Cafe in Rhondda Cynon Taf

After our dog walk we stopped for elevensies. We had hot chocolate, which was lovely, and delicious cakes to go with it. We also got a pot of dog biscuits, that our dog loved. Staff are very friendly and the toilets were clean. It's worth making a trip from Cardiff for!

Lovely cafe, dog friendly inside, & outside under cover. Delicious cakes. Only downside - the toilets. Had to use the disabled toilet as the ladies was closed. It really needs a makeover. Paint peeling off, sink dirty, windows grubby. It's also for baby changing so thought it may have been a big more hygienic. On the plus side staff were friendly & accomodating

Cafe very busy and had to queue. As always staff were great, helpful and polite. Food worth the wait. Hot and tasty. Great selection of ice-cream flavours. Real bonus of being dog friendly - although we sat outside as it was sunny.

Visited on Easter Sunday for a walk with our dog followed by a mini egg hot chocolate and breakfast sandwich, all was amazing would definitely recommend!

I have been here many times for the country park and icecream but this was my first experience of lunch today. I had the chilli beef loaded fries and it was amazing! Portion was huge and tasted awesome. Also had a slice of the sticky toffee biscoff cake and and latte! Excellent cake and coffee and the service was great, efficient and very friendly!

We go there often to either walk the dog or take the child to the park, often stopping for a burger or a hot drink. Food and service always amazing.

I’ve not been to the cafe at Barry Sidings for a while, so thought it was time to give it another go, and it didn’t disappoint. The coffee and the food is lovely, and the staff are a total delight. They can’t do enough for you, are totally customer focussed, but never intrusive. I should really hang my head in shame, because I live a stones throw from this place, but don’t really go there as often as I should. I’m going to have to rectify that!

Recently a group of us took the children to Barry Sidings Country Park, because one of the children wanted to celebrate his eigth birthday by having a Party in the park. Having had a wonderful picnic, feeding the ducks and spending 2 hours in the park we visited the on-site cafe for chips, drinks and ice-cream. On the day we visited the cafe was very busy and we sat inside because it was boiling. The cafe was immaculate with bespoke palette wood furniture. We received a lovely welcome from the waitress who noticed that 'The Birthday Boy' was wearing a number 8 badge. She really took an interest in his Birthday presents and he told her all about his Party in the park. Our table was cleaned on arrival and the order arrived promptly, the chips were well cooked and our order was very reasonably priced. We will definitely visit again.

Enjoyed a lovely walk around Barry Sidings. Stopped off for coffee. The coffee and cake were lovely but the seating area was very littered and unkempt. This was 10:30 so it obviously hadn’t been cleared since the day before. The bins were over flowing with rubbish. We could find any dog water. Shame, we will take a flask next time and enjoy the surroundings somewhere else on the trail.

We walked up the Barry Line to the café for lunch. Outside signs with a great sense of humour! Friendly, fast service. Burgers and chips were eaten - well served, tasted great, good size portions, good price. Coffee very good indeed Ice creams, superb!! What a fantastic little place this is! Thoroughly recommend!

Try the burgers out you will not be disappointed. The staff are all great and helpful and considering it is just a cafe this place has food to rival many larger chains. Try the Barry Mac burger it was awesome.

Great little place, very friendly service, lovely hot coffee and scrumptious cake. This cafe was a wreck 5 or so years ago and the owner has made a superb job of the renovation. It has a good vibe and so close to the off road bike centre. A great cafe and a great addition to the area. Go there!

Stood in the queue for ten minutes waiting to be served. Lady finally comes over and says they have stopped serving food. I asked when and she continues to tell me one minuet ago. They could see me stood in the queue and purposely turned everything off. Disgusting behaviour

First visit today. This is a small cafe within a country park and does what it says on the tin. Called in for a snack after walking around the park, enticed by the great smell of chips. This is more like a snack bar and the aim is to grab a quick bite after a walk but what they do, they do well . Staff are very friendly and helpful, the surroundings are clean and tidy. Teas, coffees, cold drinks, snacks or ice cream are a great way to round off a visit to the park.

Always have nice food and drink here. Slightly overpriced in my opinion. Service is always quite slow, on this particular visit waited around 15 minutes for 2 milkshakes on a particularly quiet day.

1st time to the park, lovely place apart from overflowing bins with rubbish thrown into undergrowth & ponds. Also far too many rude cyclists, so annoying. Lots & lots of very well behaved dogs. Had really filled up by 11am.

Great breakfast here and really good quality produce. Bacon is probably some of the nicest I’ve had. Service is always friendly and with a smile. The daytime menu also has lots to offer and really generous portions. Nice location and plenty of parking. Hidden gem.
