Small portions, high prices, harried by staff who were constantly clearing plates and moving things along.

Great quality, not cheap but very enjoyable. The restaurant is busy but the waiting staff were friendly, informative and efficient. Like most customers we sat at the long bar with a full view of the kitchen. Seeing the prawns being cooked for someone else persuaded us to try them as a starter - not cheap at £21 for 5 prawns heavy on garlic and delicious. Ham croquetas and pan con tomate made up the other starters - both excellent. Main courses were hake and clams and marinated seabass and shared a portion of patates bravas. We pushed on for unnecessary desserts of bunyols and torrija - one would have been ample to share. The wine list is good - we had glasses of the Vina Zorzal which was good. The staff went out of their way to explain how things were to be prepared and were very professional. It’s not cheap but it is very good.

Big fan of Barafina and have used the Soho branch for many years. The Borough Yards restaurant has previously been very good but on this occasion it was quite disappointing. Food was pretty good but the service was poor. Waitresses not knowing how to open a bottle of wine, cleared our plates and table mats. Declined dessert but ordered coffee after which our meat course arrived. Bill took forever to pay. Staff trying to multi task badly. The concept of a counter is to be near the action not ignored.

Buono ed informale, questo tra i vari Barrafina di Londra. Buoni I piatti e servizio attento e veloce. Buona anche la varietà di scelta.

Lovely experience, sat at the counter, had an ice cold estrella served in a frozen glass, we had a selection of small plates, the croquettes were amazing, we also had a monkfish tail, which was huge

The clean and stylish restaurant is accompanied by traditional Spanish dishes. You are able to sit at the bar and see for yourself how some of the dishes (this may include what you order) are handled and cooked. The restaurant is very clean! The service is friendly. A lady explained almost every dish to me as I was not familiar with some of the Spanish dish names. The restaurant offers special dishes. The oysters we ordered were used three ways. They were as fresh as the prawns. The cheese balls and fried calamari were not greasy. The fish and chicken were very tender. The flavoring of each dish was carefully cooked and prepared rather than simply sprinkled with something. Prices are moderate for London and worth a special trip!

If you’ve been to one of the other branches, you’ll know what to expect. It’s excellent Spanish food that’s a bit on the pricey side but to my mind worth it. The staff as always are brilliant, and we had a fantastic time. will of course be back

Walking around the yards hunting for a random feed, we came across Barrafina. Great stars, decor, and menu. Reasonably priced for decent sized portions. It's worth another visit on our next trip.

The restaurant and the service was absolute fine, no complaints with that. The issue was the food. It’s very average and the worst Spanish food I’ve had in London in the last few years. It’s not terrible it’s just below bang average and lacking flavour and very overpriced. £20 for 5 small prawns in garlic oil (and served fully shelled and without the intestinal tract deveined), £28 for a small slice of pork belly that didn’t even have crispy crackling (take that £28 and get a pub roast dinner with all the trimmings). The patates bravas were just diced cooked potato sans spicy tomato sauce. Not very good food unfortunately. Lots of better Spanish restaurants available in London Bridge/Southwark/ Borough Market.

Met for a family (3 generations) birthday celebration. The staff could not have been more helpful. We have a number of different dietary issues and they worked very hard to accomodate them all. The young man serving was outstanding. The food was good and the Rose Rioja excellent. Altogether a great day out

Lunchtime on a Sunday 2.15pm table booked. As we were ordering told we cannot order more as kitchen closing in 10 mins. Very slow , I think they forgot some of our dishes as they came much later. Very disappointed at the same sex toilets, women should have their own space. I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

Very lucky to get a seat at the bar without a reservation. What followed was a fantastic experience. Food, service and atmosphere were all first class, and sitting at the bar was great fun, being right in the heat of the action! The lady serving was so helpful with recommendations. I opted for a delicious bowl of clams, the Catalan chicken and of course croquetas. Followed by a cold glass of fino.. Excelente!

I stumbled upon the restaurant but I had plans to visit it while in Europe. I was fortunate enough to be seated at the counter along with others, one friend is a CIA chef. We watched in awe as a young Dominican chef prepared plates. His preparation of lobster was pure art. He tasted everything and those assisting him moved around him, with each reaction, as if choreographed. The CIA chef we were with explained everything and we ordered just about everything. It was an incredible experience. Watching the preparation of the food then experience eating such incredible food. Unforgettable. Plan to return next week.

Truly the WORST dining experience I've ever had. Most of the positive reviews are old, as it used to be slightly better previously but has significantly declined. The food was tasteless, but the main issue is the appalling service. From start to finish, the manager was rude and patronizing. He began by trying to convince us that we didn't have a reservation. Even after showing him the reservation, he insisted we made a mistake and booked for the wrong day. This continued, despite us showing him the reservation with the correct date on my phone. I had to wait an hour and a half, and ask the staff 4-5 times just to get 1 drink as they kept forgetting and ignoring me , only to get the wrong one after all that. I drank water the entire evening. No apologies were offered. They forgot to bring out a couple of things we ordered, but at that point, we didn't bother mentioning it as it would have been too much hassle and more bad attitude from the staff. I could honestly continue detailing how bad it was. Nobody asked us how our meal was, nobody checked if we needed anything, we had to fight for waiters attention when it was just moderately busy. This is the worst restaurant I've been to GLOBALLY.

my Spanish friends took us there to try authentic Spanish tapas and beer. The interior of the place make an impression, but moreover is so peaceful and feels cosy and comfortable. Food is freshly made, full of flavour, colourful and dishes represent different parts of Spain. Great selection but not sure if worth the money, quite pricy but hey - its central London! However, I would love to go back :)

This is like having a tiny piece of Spain in London . Excellent , albeit rather small range of tapas. Churros and hot chocolate is wonderful too. However- Either their pricing or their portion size is very wrong?!
