Barocco Pub in South Lanarkshire

I'm sorry. This place was fresh from an episode from Ramsay's kitchen night mares. My sis toom me for a lunch treat and we were going to go to Bond, Steakhouse next door. But thought the bistro would be more down to earth. The food was abyssal. Very editable and poor Prestation and taste :( I wouldn't recommend at all. Most people in the bar bistro were drinking, says it all. And quite rowdy clientele. Won't be back. Awful experience!!

I had some time to kill in East Kilbride and fancied a bit of lunch. I visited this bar and had a baked potato with 2 fillings and a can of juice. Total price £6.50. Also got to watch the football on the big screen. I would highly recommend.

One screen for the football that was constantly stood infront of by a bouncer or a DJ who started to set up with 15 mins to go in a World Cup game. Had to be asked to move by several punters before doing so. Mad jakey guy with no drink pestering tables asking people to buy him a pint. Bizzare energy.

My husband and I visited here on Saturday before meeting some friends for dinner. As it wasn’t our original meeting place, I asked the name of the bar, so I could let our friends know where we were. The Bar-man replied “you’re not from EK then are you”. A simple response of the name of the bar would have been fine. The drinks were fine, but the ambience and noise was horrific. The clientele was…..undesirable…. so much so, they had signs up to remind people that tracksuits weren’t appropriate attire.

Was ok only popped in for 1 drink before theatre and the wind was very nice

Been in a few times recently for a quick pint before some lunch. Staff friendly and some no bad cocktails too......... Nice pint of draft Menabrea lager. Not busy at all during the day through the week.

My sister who is 60 years old asked to use the toilet late on on Saturday the 28 May. She suffers from bowel issues an is having a hard time of things just now. It was around 12.30 , the doors were still open and she walked in and politely asked if she could use the restroom. A female bartender told her she couldn’t use the toilet. My sister explained to her that she had issues but the bartender still refused to let her use the facilities. She then escorted with some security guard out the door. We couldn’t believe what had just happened we were disgusted. Across the road the female bartender from the Montgomery Arms saw what had happened and told my sister to come over and use the toilet. I would just like to thank her generosity. As far as Bar Roccoco is concerned they should hang their heads in shame. I will be meeting with my MP later as we cannot let this rest.

Another afternoon at Barocco for the football. Excellent atmosphere,excellent staff and a great mix of company,young and old. First class!

Nice enough, but for me, not good enough. Two tables had not been cleared of crockery etc. We were in for a good ten minutes before they were cleared. Even then, they weren't wiped down, food remnants could be seen. We had lunch, nothing really to write home about, yet here I am writing about it!! The pub has nice decor and dog friendly, about the only two good things I can say. Don't take my word for it, you may like it. Don't think I will be back

Ok if your local and face fits . Happy to take your money then throw you out ( for having the smallest logo on your jumper) when all sorts going on in the toilet ( stewards dont see that going on ) 🤷‍♀️🤭 I for one won’t be back

We are in our mid 30s barrocco is My Local pub in which I attend on a regular basis for food and drinks. Met up with 2 friends and got in the pub with no issues at 815pm. At 10pm we were approached by a female bouncer saying we had to leave because my friend had a ‘tracky’ on. My friend had khaki jogging bottoms on with a khaki jumper which had a very tiny adidas logo on the jumper. We were seated the whole time causing absolutely no bother at all (catch up after having a baby). The bouncer said we can finish our drinks however after ten mins the bouncer came back (after another bouncer whispered in her ear and they both looked at us) and said sorry I need to ask you to leave due to the owner being in the pub. When asked why ‘trackys’ weren’t allowed she couldn’t answer (despite jogging bottoms not being trackys) also Other girls were walking about with jogging bottoms on and heels and others were in the toilets taking drugs and not one person I seen with a mask on (including most staff) but no we were still asked to leave and were refused service. My friend was being discriminated against for the way she dresses! Disgusting! Also It’s funny how they left it 2 hours before saying anything. Won’t go back. Disappointed

If your face fits then you’re welcome. Take your money then happy to throw you out ( after you e spent money in the place ) for having the tinest logo on the jumper when funny enough there looking for tables for locals. Stewards need to pay more attention to what goes on in the toilets . What a waste of a good night Will never step foot in the place again 😡

Quiet this time of day, early afternoon. Good food, 3 course pensioner meal £7.50, good portion size either for normal or pensioner.

I'd like to see myself as a regular customer of this establishment and loyal customer, however, tonight was by far a pleasant appearance on my behalf. I cant stress enough how highly I think of the staff and customer service I normally receive and in all honesty, tonight seems to be an isolated experience for me and no one should be put off. I would greatly appreciate someone from the management contacting me however to discuss the newly found reasons for my disgruntlement

Really friendly staff. Nice bar set up. We went in because my brothers not been down the village in years. He asked for an off the menu cocktail and the staff happily obliged! This really went above and beyond their duties so we super appreciated it. Good friendly crowd. Loved it.

Blown away by the quality of the bar food - had 2 courses for £12 for dinner deal and ate of the lunch menu the week before, both times could not fault the food. Everything tasted freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. Would happily have paid double the price at more upmarket bars and restaurants. Service was just ok and the atmosphere in the place a little lacking but the food and drink were superb for the price.

Excellent Salmon and Steak Pie with friendly service too

Grilled steak was very good I had a 2 course meal for £10.50 and was impressed with what i got for the price i paid

I visited with friends for lunch. We were the only customers. We all had soup to start and we all left full bowls as it was disgustingly sour. Tasted like vinegar. I’m pretty sure it had gone off. The server could clearly see that the bowls were full and questioned this, we explained it wasn’t nice. Our mains were ok. Nothing special. Our bill came and they had charged all 3 of us for untouched full bowls of vinegar soup. Not impressed. Getting 2 stars as the lad who served us was pleasant

Visited this establishment around one pm on a Friday, bar empty all but three people which should have been an indication, on looking at the menu my initial reaction was just to leave but as we had ordered a drink thought we would give it a go. Bar person very friendly although menu wasnt too promising . Starter of fish cake and haggis balls lived up to my expectation dry and nondescript, my main meal of salmon was palatable but my colleagues steak pie was revolting i.e. Beef tough, and strong vinegar taste of the gravy he left the majority. Wouldn't recommend this establishment for food.

Firstly, how do 14 year olds get into the premises every Friday and Saturday night yet the so called bouncers knocking back 40+ year olds back using the excuse you have had 1 too many yet letting these children roam freely, absolute joke of a pub Bar stewards as well.... asking for single whiskey and getting a double and when you say you never ordered a double they get the 2 baldy kid on bouncers to remove you from the pub, l only hope the police raid this rat hole and check ID's, this place used to be great when it was Legends but went seriously downhill due to the children well under 18 wearing trainers etc, will never be back

Really nice pub with a community atmosphere. Whenever someone walks in it's like everyone knows everyone. Never tried any of the food as we just visited for a few drinks after being recommended to by a friend. For a few drinks, reasonably priced bar and a cosy atmosphere with a big screen for sports, it's a good wee place.

Pleasant staff, but very slow service and not the greatest food I've tasted. 👎

Great little venue for all kinds of entertainment great door and bar staff and tasteful decor without inflated bar costs

We did not Get a meal as we were refused a meal as we had not booked a table. The very few other diners who had booked were able to pick from the menu, so had not pre booked their hoice. They were apparently busy at the upstairs room, but downstairs including myself and my friend there was only 7. We had to walk out without eating. We were told originally out meal would take an hour, but the other customers were served very quickly. I will neither be back nor recommend this place.

Very friendly place staff were very helpful. Great place to take a wheelchair in as there is plenty of space.

Lovely pub good staff and on a Sunday night cliff sings some great songs from Billy Joel among others definitely a busy little pub and also nice to relax in....has a restaurant upstairs and food is top shelf...you won't be disappointed. Door stewards are long term so it's a relaxed place which sells nice draught beers etc

Well what a treat! Choice of eating in the restaurant or bar. We choose the bar as we have kids in our company and they had already choose burgers! Burgers were cut from fresh, we were informed it would be 20/25 minute wait due this, we were happy to wait. The burgers were huge and fab. Salad, chips and onion rings as part of the price, £7.50, bargain!! Kids menu was great too with huge portion of ice cream at the end. We also had desert, £1.95 a portion for hot chocolate fudge cake with a jug of cream. Very reasonably priced for good grub and portion sizes. We will be back!!!

Although the staff are very nice, the karaoke host Cliff does not treat any new repeat clientele with any respect, assuming that they are all the same. Nearing the end of the night I was called a f**king pest when asking for one of my friends to sing. This is not how I would speak to anyone and would never expect to be spoken to like this

Well placed in the locality, cheerfull staff. Fine menue. Still reasonably priced compared to some other Pubs/Clubs/Hotels in the same area.

LOUD karaoke on Saturday nights. Can be heard half a mile away! God knows why & how this place gets away with it.

Dined here on 5th July. Surprised how quiet it was and weren't sure if we had chosen the right place to eat. Well we were wrong, Service excellent food fantastic. Been to high end places where the food is terrible and service abysmal If you want great service & food then eat here. Thank you.

Popped in for Lunch at the bar .We ordered 3 dishes with skinny fries.guess what all arrived with horrible fat nearly black chips.wife complained and waitress took chips away as they were in a separate container but not the rest of the dish..after waiting about 15 mins the skinny chips arrived by that time the steak was cold.asked to reheat which was done but was only slightly warmer.needless to say no tip given. Been here before and always good food. Also waited 45 minutes for meal also. Waitress should have taken full dish away and brought back correctly. Probably won't be back. Couldn't find any website to complain to management.

Came here saturday for the football we had a great day we met so many nice people the staff were so nice the prices were good also certainly want to come back

Quality food, decent prices and attentive staff... Very nice place be it intimate or gathering they will cater for you all.

I certainly wouldnt reccommend this venue if you are in a group. A group of five of us went to Barocca to celebrate finishing an exam and the barmaid came to our table and said that we were being to loud then proceeded to lift the glasses from the table two of which werent finished. I followed her to the bar to get an explination as she stormed away while we were trying to speak, she then told me that people dont want to hear us so i asked the other 3 tables if this was the case and none agreed. I would suggest that if you want a quiet pub then perhaps the comment saying "good for groups" should be removed. Such a shame as we were looking forward to enjoying a nice meal and night within Barocca.

Great place to have a few drink

First time for food in Barocco and we were not disappointed. Mothers Day menu had something for everyone and was 3 courses for £9.95 !! The five of us had something different and all it was fabulous. The drinks prices were also very reasonable and I must give a mention to the staff - very friendly, very attentive and the chef popped down to say hello. A friend and I popped in here recently while we were looking for something for lunch. My friend had dined before and we decided on the two courses for £6.95 lunch menu. To start I had the haggis balls which were nicely done - sometimes haggis balls can be a bit wet but they had a nice consistency and the batter was crunchy. For the main I decided on the steak (which involves a small supplementary payment). It arrived promptly and for the price we paid was really very good. The portion was large and came with chips, a tomato and a mushroom.The bar's nice enough to sit in and we were able to get a large booth. The staff were friendly and efficient.
