Good food, but the pub is a bit rough round the edges

Loverly little pub out of the way but worth a visit great food great staff & great to sit out on a summers day.

Never had a bad meal here since we found it donkeys years ago

There were 4 of us. However, twas my first visit. Have to say food and service was great. Will definitely be visiting again.

What a fabulous 17th century building this is. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was great. Would definitely go again. Good atmosphere for all ages.

Great pub, that has a ' weekend break feeling ' atmosphere. Most importantly(for me) the pale ale is top class and the food is hearty and wholesome. You feel like you're in the countryside even though you're a couple of miles from wolves station.

Great beer (choice of 4 ales today) still <£4 which has got to be good the way things are going

Great ales and food. A real traditional feel to the place. Very popular with locals. Holds regular beers festivals and music events. In the summer nice beer garden with a play area for the kids.

This is a beautiful 15th century pub but today the food was disappointing in many ways: it was not as hot as it might have bern and served on the most peculiar tableware making it almost impossible to eat (a simple plate would have been far better). The table at which I sat had not been cleaned since the last occupant and it took the staff two attempts to clear and clean it. There was no heating in the place and speaking with a regular customer has not been for a while. The biggest problem is not enought staff to cope with more than one job.

Had a fab afternoon in the beer garden listening to a live band. 8 of us ate and we all rated the food great and agreed we will definitely come again . A little hidden gem in Wolves.

Had dinner here with my son as we were working in the area. I had the chilli extra hot and he had a Barley burger. Freshly cooked food to a good standard. Portions were enormous. We both left barely able to walk. Very happy

Good portions, children enjoyed their lasagne..... Adult portions can be made into halves with nice salad makes a change from the mainstream chains with their usual offering of deep fried waffles and rubbish. Authentic atmosphere, friendly place. Lovely outdoor area, dog friendly. Would be good to see more live music here . Still 5 🌟 Nice dry rose wine available now too.

Good food, staff are friendly and prices are very reasonable. It’s a mainly burger and pie place. Dog friendly. Would advise booking a table on sunny days.

Best breakfast we've found in Wolverhampton! Delicious and well worth the money for the quality and taste of the food. We came today for the first time since last summer and can't wait to come back again when the weathers nicer and we can once again sit outdoors 😊

What a turn around! Visited late last year and decided to give it another go. We arrived around 1pm to a busy pub with a buzzing atmosphere 😀. Food was excellent a much improved atmosphere to enjoy the whole experience. Kids entertainment was also brilliant and a steal at a donation to charity. We'll definitely be back!!

Ancient pub (1660) with old beams, low ceilings and where the entrance door is only 1.5m tall! Good quality pub grub that's not just microwaved! Busy even early evening (5:30pm) with most tables reserved, so phone ahead!

Great old pub. Unique atmosphere, and lovely food. Tried the Pies and they were exceptional. Well worth a visit.

The Barley Mow is just one of those pubs you'll never forget and for all good reason. We've been coming for many years and it never disappoints. The beer, atmosphere and food just can't be beaten. The pub itself remains unchanged and always welcoming. Mind your head and come inside!

While visiting family in Wolverhampton we dined at The Barley Mow on two occasions. The food was nice, extra large portions and flavorful. We loved how quaint and dog friendly the pub was. I was a little disappointed on the first visit with the staff. The waitress accidentally dropped and broke a wine glass that was full of wine. This was a honest accident and the waitress apologized, however, our coats (3) were covered in wine. When we asked for compensation such as to pay for the dry cleaning of only 1 of the coats, we were told the staff couldn’t make that decision without approval of a manager who was not on duty at the time. The bartender said she could not contact the manager and said “ well what do you want me to do - it was an accident” . Disappointed that this was the attitude .

Food was bland a dog kept barking and wyning was cold where we were sat and guys with scruffy beards kept coming from kitchen they should have nets over them

Being going there for years prices incresed which is acceptible new menu no 24-oz tbone steaks now those where classic with chips mushrooms onion rings big oval plates bring these back one gripe the tomato sauce sachets tastes terrible have to bring own next times overall service friendley foods 100%

The Mow is a great place for off the cuff live music. 1st and 3rd Monday each month.

A great breakfast, the full English was perfect.

The pub was quite hard to find, especially on a dark afternoon. The car park was quite small, as was the pub itself in all aspects (external door, external toilets, bar area and limited seating). The pub itself didn't seem overly clean where we sat. The Timothy Taylor's Landlord bitter was decent though.

I haven't been in here for years. I cycled past it on a bike ride.

Never been before but what a great place. Food was great and staff very welcoming. I had a ceaser salad with steak and my husband had a steak and ale pie, both lovely.

If you fancy good food and a cracking pint of real ale, This is the place to be. Staff here are welcoming and happy to help They serve breakfast and all day meals, food is tasty and good value too with good atmosphere. Be good idea to book if big party . Highly recommend

Building dates back to 1600s which is amazing. Food and ales/beers were excellent and the staff were lovely and friendly. This is lovely pub grub, the pies are a particular favourite.

Lovely Old Inn, low doorway, beams etc., excellent food, served by pleasant staff nice friendly atmosphere.

Nice old style pub ( c 1630) ! 3 draught ales ( envillre,hpa,Ludlow gold) all in great condition. Traditional menu -see pic. Parking prob an issue ( limited)so if you can walk there best to !! Worth the trip !

One of my favourite pubs in the area. Tad expensive but that's just the times we live in I guess ! Great outdoor area, lots of seating. The breakfasts here are amazing as well.

Everything is pretty much as good as it gets for a country pub. They're welcoming of dogs; serve good beer; situated in a scenic part of the area with next to no noise pollution, other than the atmosphere of the pub, and the building itself is a lovely old thing. The only downside is that the gazebos are somewhat of an eyesore and it'd be nice to see something more in-keeping with the aesthetic.

No nonsense food ,pub classics ,superb pies really filling.ony down for me was ony 1 draught cider ,thatchers, not for me would have been 5.lovely building

Went there last Monday evening with friends, there was live music on in marquee, had food could not fault it purchased lasagne, steak pie, and chick tikka everything was great all food piping hot on coming out,

We attended here for a friend's birthday meal. Food is lovely, with generous portions! The staff are nice and friendly.

Expensive. Food portions seem a lot smaller. Steak pie supposed to come with veg and chips came with chips and peas only. Nice but disappointing. Chicken baguette came with 'salad', 1 cherry tomato and a sprig of rocket.

Always excellent food, it fills up quickly so book early. Friendly staff and mind your head if you're over 5 ft. Needs a bigger carpark but it is a country pub

Great place for food, it's not one of the cheaper pubs, but well worth the money. The only reason I only gave 4 stars, it's because parking is difficult, the car park is too small.
