Absolutely smashin time with smashin food and smashin views, left feelin smashin

First visit for a long time think it will be a long time until I am back service excellent. Food overpriced for what you get .tapas come in odd numbers that I found strange as two people where sharing had tastier Tapas elsewhere won’t be back

if you know Spanish cuisine well, don't go there

My father and i Popped in for some lunch on Friday and could not fault the afternoon we had We arrived 20 min early this was not an issue for the staff seated us in the balcony area, staff attentive but not coming over all the time good balance. Food we had was cooked well and plenty flavours in all meals. Value was good and appreciated the server recommendation to use set menu 3 for £17 I think it was then picking another. Nice when get advice like that. Nice choice of lagers father was happy My only point would be the cider having had many Spanish ciders wouldn't say this one was my favourite was ok but many traditional ones out there shame that, but seen as this was only point i can fault place will be visited again in future and 5*+ on dood /service

Went for a dinner with wife. Nice seating and atmosphere. Good service, prompt. Drinks and few tapas were fine. We opted for paella pescado. Hugely disappointed, overcooked and full of gravy on top, but undersurface undercooked. To their credit they gave a 20% off on the paella. Might visit again, but dont opt for paella.

We came here for my husbands birthday and I can tell you this is a place that shouldn't be missed,you have to book a table as they are extremely busy and when we where there they where turning people away with how busy they where. We had the summer fiesta menu and some added extras,you never leave feeling hungry you always get too much food and that's amazing,the staff here cater to your every need and are on the ball all the time,food/drinks awesome do not and I mean do not miss this place when in glasgow. Food is flavoursome drinks are plenty and staff are all on point.

Really nice restaurant, decent tapas apart from the goats cheese salad which was a few tiny pieces of cheese hiding amongst a mound of greens.

Lovely looking restaurant with a nice atmosphere, it was busy, probably with it being fathers day. Staff were all friendly and helpful, couldn't fault the service. Cocktails and drinks were great too. However we weren't that impressed with the food, it was edible and we were hungry so we ate it! But we've had much better tapas and it could be improved. Tortilla was bland, not enough seasoning. Garlic prawns weren't good quality and rubbery. The calamari was ok but again a bit chewy. And there was far too much paprika poured over everything! We thought the beef carpaccio was lovely (but not seasoned enough for me) and the pan con tomate was tasty too. So overall ok but wouldn't chose to come back.

Had a beautiful lunch here yesterday. We had 6 tapas between us and with the exception of the calamari which was a bit chewy it was all very tasty. Great value. Has a tiramisu martini which was perfectly made.

I booked this restaurant based on their website and reviews but we were so disappointed. Disinterested staff. Cold food. Zero atmosphere. And almost zero customers on this particular evening. I tried 3 times to attract the attention of the not busy at all waiting staff to try and get them to heat up my dish. They were too busy chatting to each other to notice. So disappointed. Don't bother going here.

What a let down, so boring, no atmosphere, food lukewarm, staff totally disinterested, will not be back

This place is lovely. The setting is nice for people watching and feels informal and relaxed. The food was very good and the staff were attentive.

Lovely quick early dinner with the family with fantastic service from Caitlyn who made the kids all feel very welcome. Food and drinks were spot on too.

I have been going to this restaurant for years and was always a favourite so to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. The food was awful & ive only given 2* as the service was ok. The scallops which are not cheap were 3 tiny scallops & 3 tiny bits of black pudding and 3 dollops of green stuff!! (Wish I’d taken a pic) They tasted of old oil & we have both been feeling unwell since. I did return them but was not asked why! only did I want a replacement! I can’t fault the manager & most of the servers but the food was a real disappointment & we won’t be back.

The most authentic taps in Scotland I have ever tasted! Service was fantastic and we opted for the sharing selection. Deep fried calamari was cooked to perfection. Spicy sausage dish and green peppers in Himalayan rock salt were amazing. We will definitely be back! Sangria wasn’t too bad either! 5/5 by a mile.

Our server Caitlyn was absolutely fantastic our one year old loved her she went out her way to make sure we were all OK for food and drinks! We had a very rude server as well! if you have awards Caitlyn should definitely get one! The food is nice and the drinks!

A lovely restaurant located in Princes Square. The staff were very friendly and the service overall was great. We had the lunch menu which was X3 tapas for £17.95, decent value in my opinion. The food, while not incredible was nice enough.

Have been a few times before but this time the food was tasteless. Very expensive for what you get e.g. small bowl of fries with truffle salt and miniscule amount of grated monchago cheese was £6.95. There are other much better tapas restaurants

What a disappointing experience, this is the opposite of what Tapas should be, subpar food at an expensive price. The atmosphere was depressing because while the view was nice, it was ruined by the cold air from the aircon. 15 pounds for the Jamon Iberico is criminal for the amount that you get, it literally felt like highway robbery.

Typical Spanish food, some of it was lovely ( scallops cod, calamari and croquettes) the rustic bread was a bit bland and we've had much better patatas bravas. The service was good and our waitress very friendly. As with many places there was already a 10% service charge added, I'm not a huge fan of this practise.

Had a lovely meal whilst out shopping in Princes Square. Had a late lunch/early dinner and had not pre booked. Luckily we where welcomed with no reservation. The restaurant is well decorated with good quality furniture. We ordered 6 dishes between the 2 of us which was perfect, we where full with this. The food was tasty, appeared to be fresh. The few staff members we encountered where all friendly and helpful. Overall great experience.

It’s quite overpriced for the place to be honest. I was over £100 for some nibbles and drinks for 4 people, the food was good quality but the fact the service is average and the actual place itself isn’t worth paying that amount. Random thing to say but I found it mental I paid that amount of money and the toilets were super disgusting, 1 door broken and absolutely stinking of pee :/ I probably won’t be back which is ashame cause I did actually enjoy the food but I wouldn’t pay that price for sub-par service and dirty/worn interiors

Na, the food was pretty poor for the set tapas menu for two. Calamari bit off and rubbery Potatas bravas bit stale and dry Green peppers too bitter Prawns had few good and few tougher ones in the dish. Used to be quite good here, but won't be back. Feels like all just out a packet.

When visiting Glasgow with my family a few times a year we always go to Barca The staff are so lovely and make you very welcome, the food is amazing xx

An absolutely fantastic ambience.

Barca was an unexpected treat on our trip to Glasgow. They were about to accommodate our last minute reservation on a Sunday. Our table of 4 ordered 2 plates each and it was just enough food for us to leave satisfied. I would recommend getting a little bit more food if you’ve got a big appetite. My favourite dishes were the patatas bravas and pollo empanado. With a sangria to wash it all down, we ate well and left happy.

Went with a friend for late lunch, early dinner. The staff were keen to push a drink on us before we had decided what we wanted to eat. We were given menus and while looking through the two menus the member of staff returned and took the tapas menu away giving us another one that was much higher in price. When he again reappeared I asked why he had taken the tapas menu away. He then proceeded to tell me that I had booked the Christmas menu. I told him that I hadn't I had just booked a table for two, he said I must have pressed the wrong button when I booked, I told him that I didn't press any buttons as I made the booking by phone!! He did eventually reluctantly apologise for the mistake. We placed our orders. The food was okay not as nice or as much choice from our last visit here. And the wine was extortionate! Someone came and took our dishes away.We expected someone to come back and ask if we wanted anything else like a dessert or coffee. But that didn't happen we sat for a while and still no one appeared. We decided to leave, I went through to the ladies hoping to catch the attention of someone to bring our bill but there was no one to be seen. The toilets were a disgrace, toilet paper everywhere that people had used to dry their hands and failed to put in the bin, around the sink area and floor. We eventually got someone's attention and asked for the bill, which we discovered they had put their own service charge on! Needless to say we didn't leave them anything else, they didn't come back to us so we left leaving the money on the table. It wasn't a good experience being left and ignored. The service was none existent!! We will not be returning.

The tapas and drinks were lovely and it was such a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Glasgow.

I recently visited Barca and could not have wished for a better experience, even though the restaurant was busy we were seated quickly and had our order taken. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was excellent. I would recommend Barca to anyone.

Excellent food let down by truly terrible service with an enforced tip. Our Spanish waiter was rude and impatient, rolling his eyes as we ordered. Did not make us feel welcome, and hurried us along, especially with the wine choices. We were hoping for recommendations and instead it felt like he was a breath away from tutting at us. We were sat outside, which is really inside the centre, but it was weird having people walk past you to go to other bars while you're eating. Not a very good atmosphere really, and if we had been given a choice to dine inside the restaurant, we would have taken it. Food quality was excellent. I'd strongly recommend the scallops and black pudding, but you can't go wrong with anything here. The chorizo was delicious but definitely stays with you for a few hours. All of our food bar the mushroom dish was served at the same time. We waited about ten minutes and then flagged down a curly haired server, who told us that "it's probably still coming". It wasn't. A different person came to clear our plates and when we asked again, she said that he "probably forgot". No accountability. We finally got the mushrooms, but the entire table had finished eating by then. Not great at all. An enforced tip on the bill sealed the deal. I'm sure we could have asked them to remove it but no doubt it would have took another 30 minutes. Would we come back? Probably not. There's other places nearby that do good food with actual competent service.

Been here a few times and never it disappoints. The food is amazing, and they have a wide variety of drinks. It is also located inside Princes Street which is a beautiful location.

Really slow service had to prompt them for dishes not brought, sat finished for ages and asked for the bill twice. Wasn’t even too busy.

A very enjoyable lunch, the staff were very attentive. Really enjoyed most of the tapas and sharing plate but did find the butternut squash a bit undercooked for my liking and the anchovies were a bit too vinegary for me but the chorizo, meatballs and calamari were fabulous, excellent selection of cheeses and cold meat on the platter.

Barca tapas gets good reviews but it was shockingly disappointing. Below average menu but everything was pretty average. Food wasn’t fresh and really underwhelming. I will not be back, many better tapas restaurants in Glasgow.

Very good Tapas and sangria for a reasonable price. Great location at princes Square for a delicious meal while shopping and exploring Merchant City.

Food in this place was excellent - beef sliders and prawn pil pil were a huge hit all round, I had the Barca salad and broccoli which was lovely, another great option was the mushrooms. Great magaritia cocktail but the mocktail was tasty but a lot of crushed ice took a while to defrost to drink. Hence 4 star. The food was tasty, a mention for the sliders, meat balls mushrooms. The nice place to sit 3rd floor outside in the in daylight. Staff were excellent polite served quickly drink and food helpful and funny hence the 5 stars

Went in to try something new the food was alright but for the price and the portions its criminal, the restaurant offers a nice catalonian environment but thats about ss good as it gets service times saw me age a bit with how long we waited and the practices of certain staff members was off purtibf not dure if it was a mansger but a ginger bloke kept grabbing his groin area and then rubbing his nose the mankey mess glanced over a few times after it was pointed out by members of my company at first it was amusing then just became flat out grim was offputing won't be coming back again.

My partner and I came to Glasgow not knowing where to eat or drink, we decided to head for tapas, after searching Instagram for good tapas we decided to go to Barca and it was so so good the food was amazing and fresh and the staff were absolutely excellent, specifically Ryan (who pointed us in the right direction for late night bars and music) and Jacques for his friendliness and attentiveness, to my understanding he was a new starter but excellent customer service nonetheless. Cheers guys we’ll definitely be back.

Visited without a reservation on a Friday night and were seated straight away. Food was delicious and came out in a nice timely manner. The mini sliders were packed full of flavour and were amazing Only reason I marked a 4 instead of 5 is our waiter disappeared after giving us the dessert menu and never came back. After 10 mins of waiting we asked for the bill as we had tickets booked to go somewhere after and didn’t have time for dessert anymore

A shocking experience. Relationship tarnished…. Me and my girlfriend of 5 years were bollocked off my this loser of a manager who was wearing a Grey shirt that had not been ironed in about 6 weeks, yellow stains under the armpits and had a manky honking breath that reeked of onion soup… this absolute loser has crippled our relationship as she slapped me in the coupen leaving a hand mark for the next three weeks…. Wouldn’t recommend this place as they can’t see anyone have a good time. Ps. The pints were flat as a pancake.

All the tapas was amazing and high in quality. Service was great. We will definitely be back next time we are in glasgow.

A truly excellent place.. comfortable and welcoming. Food is so very good and above and beyond on drinks and service. I have looked several times and promised would go. Well worth it. This where you get what you pay for and more. I love tapas and not disappointed. We will be back and as you can read highly recommend

Visited today for lunch using an it is on voucher that was purchased for me as a gift. I have visited Barca many times previously and never been disappointed, unfortunately today’s experience has been a massive let down and we will never return. We had two vouchers, one for 5 tapas and one with 5 tapas and 2 glasses of sangria, we visited as a party of 6, family lunch. On receiving our drinks my 17 year old daughter asked to taste my sangria and took one sip, within in seconds the waitress shot over to the table demanding identification from my daughter, she was very very rude and aggressive in her tone, I advised she did not have id, on this she stated “I saw her drink the sangria” Yes she tasted a sip of the sangria and passed the glass back to me (she had a soft drink in front of her) I did advise that it is not illegal for a 16/17 year old to drink in restaurant settings with permission of an adult, she abruptly told me that was the rules there, fair enough however unfortunately I am not accustomed to every restaurants rules, she stood over the table and I was quite unsure on what else she wanted us to say to be honest - the impression was that she wanted us to leave.  I have no dispute if this is the restaurants rules however the problem lies in the rude and aggressive manner of this particular blonde waitress, she tried to embarrass us and my daughter which was completely uncalled for. I could understand it if we ordered her a full drink however it was a sip.  She marched off. I have read the other negative reviews and I am inclined to believe it is possibly the same member of staff who is generating the negative reviews. We spoke to the acting manager, he was pleasant enough however he did ask what we want him to do about it? Well I don’t know as I don’t work as a manager in a restaurant, I would have thought this was his remit. The waitress did not come back to the table again however was clearly chatting to other staff members about the situation looking over at our table making it quite clear she was talking about us, highly unprofessional. We waited about 25 minutes on a new server coming over to take our order.  On receiving the bill the acting manager advised he has taken the 2 sangrias off the bill, I did thank him however they were part of the deal and had already been paid for, his response was that the waitress hadn’t passed this information on. He did then take off the charge for the bottle of wine however in all honesty the whole experience was wasted by that point, I would have left had someone not have purchased the voucher for me a a gift. I appreciate rules are rules and have no objection, what I do object to is an ill-mannered jumped up waitress being so rude for no reason, she could have simply advised us of the rule and there would have been no issues however she seemed intent of causing as much trouble as she could. I really do hope the management take this on board however as with other negative reviews I am sure this will also be ignored, shame that one waitress ruins it for the rest of the staff.

Waited around 30 mins for food. Food was average. The prices don’t reflect the quality. And on top of that there was a 10% service charge tacked on to the bill. The owner should pay his staff a decent wage and allow the customer to tip their server. Adding a service charge is embarrassing.

The food was good, but we got really bad food poisoning.

Decided to come here with a friend before seeing the Banksy exhibition for a few drinks. The sign at the door asked those that aren’t ordering food to seat themselves which felt a bit strange, every other restaurant/bar I’ve been to asks you to wait to be seated even if you’re just getting drinks. We sat on the terrace and it took about ten minutes for anyone to notice we were there, despite two staff members making eye contact and smiling at us when we sat down. The drinks were a bit overpriced, £12 for a double G&T is ridiculous. My friend ordered a mocktail and that was reasonably priced at £4. We didn’t have to wait long for the drinks which was nice, but nobody came to check on us between the time we were served and until we made it clear we were wanting the bill. I work in Princes Square and most bars and shops offer a small discount to the people that work in the mall. The discount app says that PS staff get 25% off the food and drink menus, yet when I asked about this and showed my discount card I was told I can’t get the discount as we didn’t order food which we weren’t pleased about. Due to the poor service I doubt we will return,

Everything here was nice, apart from the straight from the freezer pork ribs. They tasted dry n fell off the bone cuz they were frozen for so long. Good service tho with friendly atmosphere

Barca has always been am favourite of ours. We came here in Saturday night and we felt the food wasn't as great as it usually is. Could be staffing issues, I don't. Barca has been our go to for Tapas. Unfortunate for Saturday night. We felt the food was quite bland, so I'm dropping 1 star.

I enjoyed the whole experience of the ambience, food and great service. Will return again.

Food is quite tasty, pretty much your standard tapas. I'm dropping a star as the portions are all on the smaller side - although the 5 of us ordered a host of platters, no one felt particularly full by the end of the meal. My 20yr old had to 'top up' later with a snack! Our 'vegetarian expert' thought the dishes were tasty although a bit 'standard', a little more inventiveness would be nice. Expect about £30 per head, although cocktail indulgence will push that up!

Food was nice however, despite a pre booked table we were placed right on the outside in the mall . We asked to be moved but were told no ( the place was empty) so not a nice atmosphere to sit in when we were planning on staying a couple of hours for food and drinks afterwards.
