Booked this as it was the highest rated in the area for breakfast with a number of interesting and unusual items on the menu. When we were seated, we were told it was buffet only and, whilst this was quite nice, we could have got the same at a Premier Inn.

I booked this restaurant last minute for 24 people after a business meeting nearby. The communication was great from the first email I sent, and throughout the night So accommodating, friendly and they were fantastic on the night, nothing was too much trouble We had the share menu, and all the food was amazing, and the price was really good too. I would recommend this to others, and to other people in the office too

Went here for a friends birthday. We sent our food orders in a few days before so all they had to do was bring out the food. For whatever reason there was a mix up with the orders. Drinks came out AFTER the food was finished after chasing multiple times. And the dessert came out with the main course so was cold by the time you got round to It. There’s a short waiter in there (male), who has SUCH A BAD ATTITUDE! My friend ordered a green sweet smoothie and asked for them to make it a bit sweeter (it wasn’t sweet at all) he said add sugar with such an attitude and just walked off. I understand it’s a smoothie which was mostly vegetables but simply adding some apple juice or some fruit would’ve done the trick. Food was basic. There’s such a great variety of restaurants in shoreditch so I wouldn’t bother with this place. Seriously. A fantastic waste of time. We went on a Sunday, so if management get round to reading this, please have a word with that short waiter.

What a beautiful and spacious restaurant Barboun turned out to be. The decor reminds me of the works of the Autoban collective (think Babaji, Duck Rice): inventively designed, light and airy design - check it out for yourself. My friends and I stopped at Barboun for breakfast. Lucia was the first person to great us as we went in, and what a warm friendly welcome we received. It set the mood for the entire visit. The staff we interacted with was professional but warm and personable. It really enhanced our visit - thank you guys. The food was good. We had poached eggs on smashed avocado toast - a classic, I know, but it was well executed. The lattes were very good and so was the cinnamon rolls we ordered. The only thing I would upgrade is the orange juice, please no more concentrated orange juice for anyone. Full stop. I'll happily be back.

We booked Barboun for Christmas lunch. The Christmas lunch was just sublime. But let’s start with the downside of Barboun that was the actual booking of the reservation. I called to book and was informed I had to reserve online. I did this and e-mailed but received no reply. Two days later I had still heard nothing. So, I rang the restaurant again and was told someone would call me back. Two days later nothing, I called again and was told that I was not to worry it was all in hand and an e-mail would come through. It did but they had been hacked when you tried to press on it took you to a dodgy link. Yet again I called back I was told they knew that they had been hacked Not to worry they would send a conformation the next day, of course it never happened, I should really have booked elsewhere at this point. But my partner was keen to go there. Eventually I got the name of the Natasha at the reservation team, and she sent me her personal number and asked me to call he. She was busy when I dd. But had a quick chat said everything was ok call her at ten thirty the next day. I did this but she was taking the trash out asked meekest to call back in ten, I did this, and she went to answer phone 4 times and did not call back. Only after writing to her again and cc everyone in did I get a call back, she said there was a problem with the system she had booked me in at 12 but it would come up as 10.30 and a link to pay in full. She could not give us later booking as it was two sitting 2- 3. Of course, paying was a problem too and more calls and really no apologies I kind of felt I was serving her not the other way round. Natasha, I have to say was delightful it was hard to a little annoyed with her. The final straw was when we got our bill they had charged us in full despite pre paying This was corrected I understand that Natasha is expecting a beautiful baby congratulations . But it was the worst booking experience ever and eat out every Christmas. What was especially annoying. was the restaurant being half empty people were arriving at 1.30 and two. We could have come at one. Now to the good stuff, the staff were amazing so kind attentive Marco our waiter was a delight and funny as were everyone form the hostess to bar staff, you honestly could not ask for better service we loved it. The food was very traditional and just wonderful from the salmon on Rye bread cream cheese Moist Turkey roast potties and cauliflower cheese and mouth-watering. Christmas pudding, The restaurant is just beautiful and the ambiance perfect. It would be hard not to recommend Barboun . However, I could not face the booking experience.

I don’t write many reviews but Barboun is worth the effort. We had brunch there today and the whole experience was first class from start to finish. The restaurant has a great atmosphere - very modern, spacious and extremely relaxed. We ordered from the brunch menu and the quality of the food was excellent. The service was brilliant - we were looked after by Antonio, who deserves a special mention. He is a real asset to this restaurant and his recommendations were spot on - in particular the banana pancakes (not to be missed!). This was our first visit to Barboun and it won’t be our last. Highly recommended!

I have never experienced such bad service and rudeness. Had to ask 3 time for a bottle of water .After the waitress taking our order the breakfast arrived 45 minutes later also it was the wrong one the hash brown was swimming in oil. It was absouletly awful . Also Anton was shouting at his staff infront of the customers and humilating them. I will never go back or recommend anyone to go to Barboun.

We ordered two breakfast and it took 45 minutes. Only one breakfast arrived. The other breakfast came 20 minutes later then the first one which was a wrong breakfast. We ordered tea. Tea arrived with no spoons, no sugar. When we expressed our disappoinment we were accused with being argumentative. He didn’t want to hear what we were even disappointed with. Also the manager was shouting at the staff in a very rude way which was not nice.

Lovely quiet relaxed unrushed breakfast atmosphere. Bought a breakfast deal had Turkish bagel with Turkish yoghurt an honey, a Turkish coffee and Eggs on toasted sourdough altogether pleasant. The orange juice though emphasised as fresh not to be mistaken for freshly squeezed which it was not. The service was warm and welcoming. The restaurant is set in a beautiful recently refurbished or recently opened hotel.

Myself and two friends enjoyed a lovely dinner of sharing plates plus wine. The food was very beautifully presented, felt authentic and tasted great. Particular compliments go to the dolma and the crab. Service was attentive, professional and helpful. What let Barboun down slightly was the price. I live locally so understand there is often a premium to eat in Shoreditch restaurants but some of the dishes were about 25% more than they should have been. Two beetroot fritters for £8? A very small portion of fries for £5? These are the things that would make me question going back again despite having an overall good experience.

Four of us came for brunch at Bourbon around a month ago and each one of us had positive reviews (which is rare to find in a mixed group!). The food was really tasty and even better service! We had the pleasure of being served by Antonio who made the experience for us, especially with his kind gesture of providing a surprise Turkish tea after I'd just made a general enquiry about it and being served fruit for dessert (even though not on the menu). He was really friendly and funny and helped create a really fun afternoon for what was initially a chilled catch up with friends. Overall, great food, good value for money and friendly staff. Can't wait to visit again!

I don’t write many reviews but this was just an excellent dinner. The dips (burnt aubergine) and small plates (fried squid) in particular were exceptional. Really enjoyed the gin sours we had as well. Expect to spend c.£50 a head for a big meal with drinks, but you will not regret paying it!

I don't often write restaurant reviews, and the truth is after I read some of this restaurant's recent reviews (Antonino this, Antonio that..!!) I almost thought better of it, but why not!? Let's first discuss the food. The food is extremely tasty, well presented, and a real delight to eat. Okay now let's discuss the waiter (Antonio of course!) instead! He's the reason I even thought to write a review, solely to commend him - and I see I'm not alone. His service is truly impeccable, and this is all the more impressive because such quality of service is virtually unknown within the behemoth known as London. Truly passionate, friendly, but not overbearing, he strikes exactly the right balance and is a true asset to Barboun. Thanks Antonio!
