Bar Rakuda in Plymouth

We ordered pizza ,3 light bite, risotto prawns, loaded fries the food was all cooked in margarita sauce, bbq chicken bite was absolutely crap was shocking smash burger was lots of black pepper mix ,risotto was absolutely shocking. Mushroom with garlic so grease. Just waisted of money i want recommended for any people . It is absolutely worst ever place i had food in my life shocking

Very impressed with the service here, special mention to Serby (unsure if I've spelt that correctly), who was working the outside bar during a packed evening. Credit to her, she was keeping up with all the orders from our large group all night and was incredibly helpful and friendly!

Absolutely loved this episode place, and the pizza is sublime. If you’re in the area, definitely pay this place a visit! Service was brilliant, food arrived in great time, and gain the food was immaculate and it’s a wonderful atmosphere. Absolutely worth the visit.

Great little place, walked past and seen people eaten out the front, and their food looked amazing. So, I decided to try it out myself, managed to get discount with my Blue Light Card and had a girl play the guitar and sing, which was pretty cool. Great voice to! Food and service 10/10

Very quick, staff were extremely nice, great prices for the portion sizes. Recommend coming for late lunch/early dinner for nicer atmosphere.

Found this place by accident. Lovely atmosphere, great views over the harbour. Friendly smiley staff and the best food we have had all week and probably the cheapest too. We Definitely will be back.

Pizzas were very good and freshly made in short time. Staff was also very helpful and friendly. Just the live music was a little bit to loud.

Nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the harbour. Our pizza was delicious, perfect meals for lunch kids meal for only 5 £ and pizza and pint deal for 15 £, nice staff, We enjoyed our stay!

Despite the good food and nice services the live music (great otherwise) it was so loud (lunch time) that we had to leave. Impossible the have a decent conversation at the table. They should seriously reconsider the volume, we were there for a quiet lunch and a chat, not for a live concert. Wrong venue…Glastonbury is a few miles away…..🤷‍♀️

OK for a quick bite, small tapas portions, limited menu, vending machine for drinks which wasn't very appealing. Two couples ordered and all our choices were mixed together on large plates despite us ordering and paying separately.

Went in for a quick half and sat in the patio area outside. Plenty of seating, some of it under cover with some taps outside. Can get pizzas from the outdoor pizza oven at certain times. Music playing outside was not too loud and a really chilled style. Perfect for a calm Sunday afternoon with a bit of sun and a drink (or two). Not at all busy, plenty of space to sit. Interior has had a redecorate since the picture I can see on the google listing. Very cosy with booths. Bar staff were very friendly and suggested different beers when I was struggling to decide. Let me try a drop of one, first. Will definitely make a return visit. Particularly looking forward to summer, when hopefully the sun will get high enough to bask with a beer.

Had Tuesday pizza and a drink for £10.00. Amazing value. A huge pizza. Friendly staff, always busy cleaning up. As a short person it is difficult to climb up onto the new benches and seats inside.

Great Harbour bar with live singers and guitarists every night. Atmosphere is relaxed . This is a cool 😎 place to enjoy a few beers and food xx

Always a warm welcome by the staff, in particular the owner who insisted I sat under a heater and even offered me some of his food. I'm a regular for the live music. Such a variety of performers and you can't get a more stunning setting.

This was our second visit. Went in on my birthday for cocktails. The young women that served us greeted us with 2 for £14 cocktails, I had a passion fruit martini, my partner had a strawberry daiquiri, brought to us at our table. They were lovely. We went up to the bar to order two more cocktails with the two guys that were serving and got told it was £18. My partner challenged this as it was 2 for £14, to which he was told that’s only on the same cocktails. Fine, but we didn’t have the same cocktails the first time? They followed with excuses of ‘Oh it must have been before 6pm’ to which it wasn’t, followed by ‘it must now be after 7pm’ which it also wasn’t.. The cocktails were then produced, left on the bar, and we were told ‘there you go guys’. My partner half jokingly said, ‘so not only have you over charged us but now you want me to come and get it? The last lady brought them over.’ We got a rude ‘I’ve got other customers’. There were two of you?! But don’t worry, as long as you enjoyed your coffee that’s fine! So… Firstly, let’s make sure one knows what the other one’s doing. Ie, one member of staff charging one price and another member another price and let’s stop with the excuses. Secondly, sort your attitude out and don’t speak to your customers like that. Thirdly, hope you enjoyed your coffees rather than bringing us our cocktails!

Just visiting Plymouth, stopped here for eats and a drink. Very pleasant young lady served us. Food very tasty and plenty of it. I'm ashamed to say we couldn't eat it all and we only had a pizza and a pasta dish.

This place offers fantastic pizza, great service, and a charming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Staff lovely and friendly food was nice aswell but totally let down by the tyrannical owner who was shouting at staff and disciplining them in front of us ...totally unprofessional and uncalled for .....we will never ever give that man any of our hard earned cash again and STRONGLY advise no one else to either🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Great live music on a Sunday evening

We went again the other night for food before going and watching the fireworks. Went in to order food and drinks as was sat outside, the gentleman who took my order was very helpful and polite. Food is good as always, had bolognaise and pizza. Only one thing I would say, is there are bins very close to where you sit which I understand is difficult being where the outside seating is located and could also do with a deep clean of the outside area flooring (pressure jetting). Again I understand it tricky but would be better for cleanliness.

Although in a really busy, popular part of The Barbican in Plymouth, this restaurant stood out. It has a welcoming feel, the menu is varied and very reasonably priced and the staff were above and beyond informative and engaging. There was also live music while we ate....literally my fave spotify playlist so I was very happy....ears and tum!

Lovely early evening in Bar Rakuda. The food was excellent. Good choice on the menu. I chose the Spaghetti meatballs dish. Served quickly, hot and delicious. Atmosphere was great.

Very pleasantly located in the heart of the Barbican with lots of outside seating they do put up huge closed covers which fold out with heaters when it rains.

Very pleasant bar, nice atmosphere. The only minus is the late opening hours in the season. They have two bars - one could be open from 10 or earlier.

I had a light meal and a couple of beers sitting outside on a warm evening with business company. It was quite pleasant if a touch too loud for easy conversation but it wasn't bad.

Don’t go to this place unless you want to be assaulted by their security!! I wasn’t even going to the bar/restaurant I was walking on the pavement outside no where near the entrance door with my sister (we were visiting the area for a little holiday) when I was grabbed and pushed by a bouncer who has left marks all over me and snapped off all of my nails which has caused serious damage to my fingers

Just stopped for a quick beer. Nice little bar. They were setting up for some live music, but I couldn't stay to enjoy that. Would certainly return when I am in the area.

We just had a great meal here. Kid’s portions are MASSIVE, which is a big plus. Pizza Mexicana was perfect. Staff super friendly and helpful. Best place in Barbican to eat fresh and delicious food Prices super low. Highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️

Friendly staff and nicely priced drinks

Had a mini staycation at Plymouth recently, and luckily stumbled across this amazing place that we frequented every evening of our stay there because of the live music and amazing customer service provided by Colin. He has definitely made each of our trips there feel so personalized, constantly checking in on us, even moved us around to sit by the heat on chilly nights. The great food and drinks complimented the fun atmosphere. Overall a great place overlooking the water, to spend a chill, relaxing evening. Highly recommend! Will definitely be visiting again in the summer!

Cold inside as all open and queue alongside table all night. Single file queue to bar for drinks. Only allowed seating of eating. Food was good. No toilets available

Great fun to play every Monday and generally an amazing to have live music daily. Colin completes the place, wouldn't be the same without him.

Food was nice i had the pesto pasta but it needs something fresh in it like some uncooked cherry tomatoes or something, music was good. Chairs/tables are too close together outside though and was chaos getting out and in every time we left the table.

Had light food which was fine, live music and good views. It was early so quietish but good atmosphere.

Only have 1 pizza and 1 cider. The order arrived quick enough and it's good. The waitress was very friendly and genuine. The price is reasonable.

Dough balls, pizzas and pints. The food is pretty good, the staff are lovely. Unfortunately the live singer they had in was terrible. It sounded like phoebe from friends had a stroke and decided she would carry on. It was like the all the best bits from the x factor fails all in one hit show. I 100% will eat here again.. I might just bring ear plugs

Good location on the barbican, great pizza

First time visit last week, I found this lovely place very well organised, helpful staff ,and it was a pleasure to sit and enjoy your drinks ect.

Enjoyed a drink here with friends and enjoyed our visit.

Be careful if paying by card. We had 1 pint of lager and 1/2 a lager. Was charged £19.50. Only realised when i checked account online later.

Staff were lovely, bloomin hot day, and even though it's not on the menu they made my Mum and I a really yummy iced coffee at lunch time. Didn't eat there but the menu looked really good too

Spent the weekend in Plymouth and decided to have lunch at Bar Rakuda. Beautiful location but unfortunately that is it. Sat down and waited for someone to come over for quite a while before asking for a menu. Waited again. Then went up to find a member of staff who said we had to order at the bar which we were not told when given the menus. Queued for ages at the bar to be told that they weren’t doing brunch that day, again we were not told this. Chose our lunch bruschetta, queued again to order and waited patiently. The bruschetta tasted lovely but it was the smallest portion I have ever seen, a complete rip off. I then ordered an Espresso Martini cocktail which was pre made as well from a pump. I will not be going back to this establishment ever again and urge others to keep away to save being completely ripped off.

Lively bar with great cocktails on the harbour side. Unfortunately the kitchen closes at 9.00pm so we were unable to get any food.

The setting is friendly, as are the staff. On the other hand, I strongly advise against cooking…. Pizza no taste and the pasta really not good.
