Bar -OH in Cambridge

Was very fun experience with retro games and fun cocktails. My favourite cocktail was “Athens tears”. I would recommend to book a table as it can get quite busy. Great bar staff, very happy to help with the selection of the drinks. And we had popcorn as a free snack which was a lovely touch. The prices for the drinks is worth the experience. And we loved the tacky that drinks came to the second floor with a lift. Would love to come again some other time.

Refused Entry before getting through the door due to being "In costume" (Read: ears and a tail). For a nominally queer bar with an interest in Gamers as an Aesthetic? Horrific choice. It is always very telling what kinds of people are excluded from a venue - whose exclusion is more important to you than the money; If you are refusing the parts of the subculture that make you personally uncomfortable? You're just using the aesthetic for exploitation, not representation. I am disabled and this is one of the few forms of self expression I still have. I have less than a year to live, this is a way for me to make the most of that. I have never been punished for this before now. Avoid as a manner of respect to the different. That was the Queers once - and we have always been allies. Everyone who was with me left and are equally disgusted - all are never going back. Let Subcultures be.

Very cute bar with consoles (PS3, Wii, etc) and live music. Cocktails are gimmicky in the right way with excellent presentation. They come very sweet but customizable to the fullest extent. Make sure you ask if you want something different! Our waitress was exceptionally prompt and courteous. Popcorn provided. Live music is cute, but this music was blasting over conversation. I'll be back and bonus points if they either make the music more 'guy with the guitar in the background' or go for more of a jazzy vibe.

Nostalgic experience, playing various console games at different tables. We ordered in pizza. The drinks were just okay, go for the experience.

Still one of the best evenings out in Cambridge, live music was very welcome vocals were spot on. Drinks were refreshing and reasonable, amazing atmosphere, staff are friendly and welcoming.

Bar-Oh is such a fun bar! This is definitely the place for you if you like crazy and unique cocktails. They also try their best for you if you have any other requests. You can be seated at a table with a classic game console with fun multiplayer games and it was honestly such a fun vibe to be here, i’ll definitely return here when I come back to Cambridge.

Amazing place! Immediately greated by friendly staff who then showed us to a table. Every table has some type of gaming system so we chose a wii. The drinks are a bit pricey but well worth it! Our favourite was the little cocktail baths as they were so fun and creative! But I would also recommend the espresso Martini if you have a sweet tooth. Overall a great place for a fun night out!

Looking for a fun quirky and nostalgic bar, Bar Oh is the place. The gents that served us were lovely and friendly (can't remember the blond lads name Alfie or archie, but he was so lovely looking after us) We had full choice of whatever games console we wanted to play, lots of fun and brought back so many memories. Thank you Bar Oh!

Love this place! I booked a few tables for a birthday party and had a really excellent time here. I arranged things a few weeks in advance given it was on a Saturday night and talked the plans through with the owner, Sean. He was really friendly and accommodating and kept in touch as the event got closer, which is reassuring when you're organising a lot of people! On the night, the staff were absolutely amazing. We planned some welcome drinks, which were all out for us within a few minutes of our arrival. After that, even on a busy Saturday night, they looked after us superbly - checking in regularly, taking orders and bringing out the drinks quickly. The presentation of some of the cocktails is next level and really adds to the atmosphere of the place, but they also do the classics really well too if that's more your speed :) The bar itself doesn't do food, but we had no problem ordering in some pizzas for everyone from a restaurant nearby. Overall, a really lovely, chill venue and the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday. Our whole group had a wonderful time! Thanks so much!

Great combination of drinks and ambiance. There's even a space for bands or karaoke but I was not able to see it running. Drinks are crazy, really weird presentations. The videogames and games collections are really good. I might ignore the single player ones if you are with your partner. I was not able to play any boardgame, but they have modern ones like munchkin, not only Uno. They have no food. Super recommended anyway.

Didn't have food, just cocktails which were quite expensive but comparable to most cocktail bars I think. We got put on a table with a Nintendo GameCube which was fun and there was live music on which was great too! I also got a drink with my picture on. A really cool and different place to spend an evening.

A really nice experience, will definitely go back again. The staff were really nice, the cocktails were amazing as well as the presentation. Next time will definitely try the games as well

We didn’t book beforehand which I would recommend if you wanted better games, but even though we didn’t we managed to get a Pac-Man table and then we asked to move to another game and they accommodated us with a Nintendo 64 style gaming console which was fun! Unfortunately the Pac-Man table on one side the movement was really hard, but we still had a good time! Service was amazing! Really quick and very friendly! Atmosphere is great! Great selection of drinks which can also be asked to change to non-alcoholic options.

Amazing cocktails at fantastic prices with plenty of fun games and live music.

Amazing bar and cocktails, great games we booked a big table for 8 people and got given a table with the Nintendo Wii. Music and live music but not too loud, can have a conversation easily. All cocktails available in no and low alcohol versions, they also do classic cocktails not on the menu.

Had a great time at this bar. Staff members were extremely helpful/polite, great atmosphere, nicely lit, and not overly crowded. The music was also good and the drinks were amazing. Perfect for a date night or for people who want to step out for a fun drink minus the large crowds of people.

I never review anything but I need to just express how much I love this place. I went there for the first time tonight with a friend and it was amazing. It was so cool with all the games and the vibe of the place is so different. The staff were so friendly.The drink selection is amazing, and they do off the menu drinks as well. I had the bathtub cocktail with the hot honey and chilli flavour, the presentation is fantastic and it tasted so good. Plus playing mortal combat while drinking sounds like a dream. I would definitely come back in the future!

We have held our Christmas party at Bar -OH twice now and it is always an absolute blast! From the moment we arrived, the owners and bar staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic time. Their friendly service and genuine enthusiasm created such a fun and welcoming vibe. Beyond the brilliant service, Bar -OH itself is a truly unique space. The computer games add a quirky touch, the drinks menu is creative and interesting, and the lighting and live music setup are top-notch. You can tell a lot of thought and attention to detail has gone into making this bar something special. If you're looking for a venue with personality, fantastic service, and a guaranteed good time, look no further than Bar -OH. I highly recommend it!

What a great concept for a bar - cocktails and retro games - a killer combination! Will be coming down here again with friends for sure, and I will perfect my guitar hero skills. Also a special mention to the staff, very friendly and down to earth.

This place is amazing...We managed to get a table with a N64 without booking (we arrived as it was opening) I ordered a cocktail that appeared in some kind of enclosed Donkey Kong land in a giant treasure chest! Blew my mind 😂😂...The staff are really friendly and attentive.

Waited 20 mins at the table and no one served us, they were obviously short on staff, I had booked way in advance and was also disappointed to be put at a table which was an after thought the way it had been positioned, we were offered a free drink as we went to leave but declined, perhaps also stop calling people Bro…..just a thought, will not be heading back anytime soon!

A very mixed bag of a concept; retro games, open mike and cocktails in what feels like a warehouse setting. The door staff are amazing and friendly, made everyone feel welcome. Interesting robot at the door!

What an amazing place! The environment and cocktails! for the price even down to the clarified ice which they told us is made in house, no attention to detail spared the shark bite cocktail was amazing and the caramaco was delicious! the ice cream thing was mad 🤯 also the bandeioke, so doing that again!😁 100% recommended! Attended the Halloween Live Music event November 1st. Such a great vibe. The music was great and matched the atmosphere. It felt like effort had been put into getting the levels right as was able to enjoy the bands and the company. Thanks soo much to the team and bands!

We hired the place for 21st birthday celebration and it was honestly amazing. The service was incredible and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Everyone had a great time and everything ran so smoothly. Drinks were great and the space was perfect too. Live music was lovely too! Big thank you to Jess, Sean and the gorgeous woman who fooled the birthday man!! Thank you everyone!

My review never got saved the first time I wrote it, so the fact that I am willing to write another only for the sole fact that this place deserves it speaks for itself. The people there are great, I'm talking about the servers, the bar keeper. They are charming, funny, accommodating, witty, and all-around great people. As we walked in, we were offered a location upon the request from my partner for a secluded place or one that would be the least, in the way of the people that would frequent here. We were told to take our time, that we can ask for reduced alcohol or none at all, and, when we asked if they served food, they told us they do not serve food BUT... we could order our own food, and they would keep an eye out on it for us. That alone is so awesome ❤️ They didn't even need to ask us how it was. They still asked if it was good. Impeccable service. My partner told me that there were female hygiene products in the women's bathroom, which is terrific. A diffuser up on the wall to keep the fresh scent. Major brownie points all around, especially for these 2 points alone If I lived in Cambridge, I would come here often ❤️

They don't serve food, but I still put a 5 star for it, considering they allow you to order food to the place! The staff was absolutely lovely, incredibly friendly and helpful people, not to mention fun! The atmosphere there to me was exceptional, nothing but mood lighting in different nice and warm colours. Even on a monday evening they had live music that befitted this super cozy and viby place ❤️ Even the bathrooms there was great. In the ladies bathroom they had pads and tampons, some rituals products like soap and smelling sticks and a diffuser mounted at the wall. Over all a 10/10 experience for me, the board/drinking games, games and consoles too brought you right back! To the hangouts you'd have with your friends way back when 🥰 Loved it! I'll definitely come back to Cambridge only because of this place.

Cool-vibes bar! The cocktails are super fun and quite unexpected when it comes to presentation…I was tempted to take couple of glasses home with me (I didn’t! 😄). Not sure if you can actually purchase some of the glasses they serve the drinks in, but it would be cool if they had the option to purchase the glasses :) And on top of the fun drinks, you can play video games too. They have a bunch of consoles available at the tables, with nice selection of games to choose from. Definitely worth a visit! 😎

The place is a great idea and the staff were otherwise lovely, but I ordered a drink which did not have any mention of milk/cream in its contents on the menu, and I'm plant-based and lactose intolerant, so I naturally complained when I saw it had cream. The waiter agreed to change it for me, and asked if anyone would still like to have it. Thinking he meant they're going to throw it away so if we wanted it we could keep it for free, my friend agreed to have it. When the bill came, it was on it. I asked the waiter about it and he said we still drank it, so we had to pay for it. I think that's pretty unfair as my friend wouldn't have taken it had she known. If the allergens are not listed on the menu, it's not fair to make someone pay for the bar's mistake. And had it been made clear to us that keeping it meant paying for it, my friend might have chosen a different option. But the unwillingness of the staff to offer to take it off was the bit that I found unfair. Update: I'm sadly updating my review to a 1-star one as I received a response from the bar I should have asked for allergens. You missed to include the fact your cocktail has dairy cream, one of the MAJOR allergens (when you said it contains maraschino cherries, which it had two tiny pieces of, for example), and you are trying to make this the fault of your customers? Oh, to add to this, it also had a marshmallow, which likely contains gelatin...

This was a brilliant place. Great venue with live music. Old consoles were great. Shame about the super sticky tables at our 5:30pm table... Toilets were very clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and service was decent.

First time coming to Cambridge with my missus and wow this place is so cool man, great atmosphere and great service, especially Tag he was amazing with his time. He made us feel comfortable when there was a loud rowdy table next to us reassuring us we could sit somewhere more quiet but never the less we still wanted to remain where we was.he also gave us a tour of the place and customer experience was superb, made us feel welcomed and chilled out ! Will come back and well recommend if you want something back to the old school days of retro game consoles. Thank you

Visited Cambridge for a day and was recommended this place after eating at la razza and what a recommendation it was. Really stunning venue. Live music was incredible. Was really cool to see talented people swapping in and out and all getting inspired from one another. Atmosphere was really good, clearly a lot of regulars attend but everyone was really friendly and it felt really inclusive. Service was spot on. Would come back to Cambridge just for another night in this bar.

The best club in Cambridge! Old ps1, ps2, Xbox, pac man, guitar hero this is the night for cool cocktails and a game of games all night. We had the best night celebrating the new year in here and back in July for my 30th with friends. I love this bar!

Best bar in Cambridge for drinks, atmosphere, games and music!

Absolutely amazing night, will definitely be back. We visited for a quick drink before our train and ended up staying for hours. Amazing choice of fun themed drinks, live music, wide variety of games to choose from. The staff were all SO helpful and welcoming, providing some of the best customer service you could ask for in addition to being highly talented performers. Vibe and interior were incredible, we cannot recommend this place enough.

Had a great work social here and the bar was quiet on Monday so we basically had the upstairs to ourselves! Staff were friendly and helpful, and we didn't run out of things to play over about 2 hours. We played Mario Kart on the Wii, Simpsons Hit and Run on PS2, Guitar Hero on XBox, PacMan, Street Fighter, Space Invaders etc... there was also a good supply of party games like Cards Against Humanity. First cocktail I had was amazing but then the slushy machine broke, real shame as other cocktails weren't as good, caramel espresso martini was nice though. Facilities were lovely too with nice soap.

TAG - what a guy, the man was dealing with every single table from bottom to top level and did it with immaculate service, funny and relax - never looked stressed or phased by the amount of people. Katie was great as well ensuring the customers were seating appropriately and she had great banter as well. Although I visit Bar -OH as often as I can, I recently realised that I haven’t written a review since it opened! I’m overdue in thanking the staff and owner for going the extra mile every time I visit to make it an outstanding experience. As you can see from the photos I’ve attached to this review, I love trying the various concoctions on the menu (especially when a shark is involved), but something I also really appreciate is the bar staff’s willingness to create off-menu variations on the classics to suit my particular tastes (almost always involving margaritas). Echoing so many other reviewers, the drinks are not only delicious but also presented beautifully (leading to the best-ever bar photos, especially if Pepper the Robot – or, again, a shark – is featured). I also really enjoy the live music sessions and the opportunity to play so many retro games for free. My only complaint is that so far I haven’t had the opportunity to try Guitar Hero, because it’s a bit too popular with other visitors. I need to be more ruthless in grabbing a seat… Anyway, thank you to my favourite bar for making every visit so memorable.
