Fantastic bar man and great setting, would highly recommend.

Obscene prices for drinks so got a diet coke instead. Notification came up on my Monzo after that it cost me £4.50!!! 4.50?!?!?! for a diet coke? has the world gone mad?

Great pub showing the GAA over the weekend. Busy for meeting point and drinks before the Saw Doctors gig at Castlefield Bowl. Good location and great outdoor area.

They charged me £9 for 2 lime and sodas! When charging to my card they said the price really quietly so I didn’t hear. Complete rip off for lime cordial and soda water! Definitely not coming back

A wonderful spot in the heart of the historical Castlefield area alongside the canals with it's warehousea to have a Guinness stout. When the weather is fine, sittng outside is the best way to enjoy the place. Then it can get pretty crowed, but everybody is just having a good time :-)

Very friendly staff. Excellent pizza. Bar stool height seating at tables inside. Plenty of outside seating if you are still taking Covid precautions.

Ok so you’ve been to pubs and bars, but have you felt part of it? I missed this little gem so many times when walking past it. If you know, then you know. Bar8 is perfect when it’s quiet, it’s perfect when it’s busy. The live music the atmosphere; just try it. I live 5mins away and it’s my new local. 10/10

Lovely little place and the best Guinness in town

I'm not usually one for an Irish bar but this is a hidden Gem with decent Guinness, excelent food including bacon and cabbage and good Irish music. My major complaint was the sport on TV. However if you've visited Ireland, you generally find the sport there too

Me and my girlfriend were currently on a getaway and decided to pop by for pint and were greeted by two bouncers with serious power struggle issues, they were making derogatory and insulting remarks about her appearance, clearly two very insecure individuals with fragile masculinity -10/10 would never ever recommend ever ever - go somewhere else pls

Great pub with attentive staff and fun atmosphere

A number of complaints - served me well out of date beer (bbe of Feb 2021 on bottle when I was drinking in April 2021 - frequently got our orders wrong and kept giving our beer to other tables - slow service (over an hour from ordering to get a drink) - seems to serve a load of obviously underage regulars which it struggles to control - inconsistent refunds policy (one barmaid was really good and refunded immediately, other barman didn't seem to know how to do this)

Nice pizza and £2.10 for a half pint of coke is fine, but £4.20 for a pint is a rip off.

I was there for trad music asking explicitly if there were "fiddlers n pipers". "Yes". But got guitar n banjo. Alledgly good. That's as if you go to a restaurant asking for a pizza but get pasta (but a real good one)...

Amazing bar in a great area. Yesterday was brilliant, the outside DJ brought an ever better atmosphere to a lively place. The staff were very approachable and friendly. Would definitely recommend and I will be back 100%!

At 1pm on a peaceful Saturday afternoon in an otherwise pleasant part of castlefield, the powers that be at bar 8 decided that they cared not for the environment that others may have come to enjoy and started to play lumpen trance at a volume that would make everyone know what they wanted to. With a compete disregard for the punters in the neighbouring bars - and an apparent disconnect with the punters in their own - bar 8 continued to fill the air all afternoon with mindless thumps, satisfying only those to drunk to know any better. For the good, and future, of civilisation (in its broadest sense), avoid.

Lovely place, top class staff and the proprietor is an absolute legend. Will definitely be paying another visit as soon as I can.

The atmosphere is good, the beer excellent the toilet has a narrow base trough which cause slash back not with just your own and no soap in the dispenser to was that woe away. The seating can be improved but shouldn't as this adds to the atmosphere. Remove the paper leprechauns. Don't get caught short as you could end up finishing off in the dark, lucky I had a light. First and last visit.

Really good bar I asked when I first went in is there a min spend on card and they said no then later on someone said yes so had to buy a extra drink when I did not want it

Bar 8 used to be called Lava. Back in the day it was the place to be. Roll on a few years and now it's Bar 8 Tucked away in the corner of Castlefield this place often gets overlooked by the larger Brunning and Price establishment- The Wharf This place can be quiet, perfect for a coffee or drink perched outside on The terrace with ample outdoor seating. This place can be busy but its often an overspill from a busy day in Castlefield where the "tourists" visit the wharf, Barca, dukes and Alberts . I like This place
