Super tasty food and fast service, great for a work lunch or a quick dinner. Classic Taiwanese pork rice is super soft and delicious!

Been a couple of times and is now one of my favourites places to eat in the city. 10/10 would recommend to anyone

Based just a few minutes from Central Station, Bao makes a great stop for lunch when in the city centre. The chicken katsu bao was exceptional and came quickly. Will be back to check out other options next time. Halal options available.

Great for a quick bite to eat after work, do a good lunch menu too. Portions of mains are very generous, but if you’re just wanting a small bite the cha Sui buns are amazing and the gyoza are always very crispy and fresh! Also the steamed custard buns are so good if you’re after a dessert!

The food wasn't necessarily my cup of tea but the lady taking our order made the whole visit super pleasant. We came for a take away. She swiftly handed us the menu then repeated our order after placing it to make sure that there's no mistakes. We waited just a couple of minutes for the food to be ready. They were playing bops only 😎 Britney and Beyonce made the wait even nicer

Impulsive choice on a short lunch break and loved it. Chicken Katsu was fresh and succulent. The rice was fluffy and filling. The sauce was delicious. Cheeky potato in there too just added to the dish. Pricing was great for lunch period. Service was fast and attentive. Great atmosphere that felt very authentic and similar to experiences of eating in South Korea. Oh bao.

Just popped in for lunch on my way back home after a flight. Had the beef bao n veg gyozas. Super tasty! The lady serving was lovely!

I picked delivery from here, She was too much rude and other male staff first speak to me 5 minutes wait ,,i waited 10 minutes and asked her give me my order then she speak cancel ordr go away,, Omg i stil waiting more than 10 minutes ,,and now she said go away,,shame on this staff To much bad behavior with drivers. I request please behave good with us otherwise staff will be in big trouble. Thanks

Last minute decision to jump into here and it did not disappoint! Fresh and packed with flavour, staff where really fast and lovely and was definitely a lovely authentic taste

Ordered a few dishes for takeaway and was quite disappointed. The Chicken Katsu Bao tasted nothing like Katsu, and the selected spicy sauce was actually sweet chilli from what I could tell. Chicken Karage had no flavour at all. As for the Braised Beef Ramen - the broth was ok, but I couldn’t chew my way through the beef, it was so hard. Shame, as menu sounded very nice :(

I just nipped in for some takeaway, food was delivered so rapid. I ordered the Braised Beef Bao, Teriyaki Chicken Bao and the Taiwanese Fried Chicken. All of these were absolutely amazing!! Both of the Boas were so soft and fluffly and the flavours were immense. The Taiwanese Fried Chicken is now my new favourite way to have fried chicken. Cheers for a delicious meal!

I order the fried spicy pork glass noodle and chicken gyoza and I was very blown away😁. The meal was very delicious and every thing was perfectly made. The noodles were neither soggy nor overcooked, the salt was perfect and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The gyoza was very yummy and the sauce it came with was the perfect combo to go with it. I am definitely adding it to my favorite spot in Glasgow.

Small cozy restaurant near glasgow central, food is absolutely great and staff is nice! We tried a couple of bao buns and ramen, both amazing and packed with flavour. The baos were also delicious! Also tried the custard ones for dessert and they were amazing! 100% recommended for bao buns and asian food in general.

This is probably closer to a 4-star place, but I will gladly round up to a 5! 😊 I had a two-night stop offer in Glasgow. I searched for bubble tea after a meal and Bao popped up and was closest to me. I was disappointed they didn’t have any bubble teas. I decided to have my second meal in an hour and had braised pork ramen (I am not sure why they call it ramen. It was more just noodles). Good portion, good amount of meat, tasted great, and reasonably priced! Love a good noodle soup on a cold rainy day in Scotland! I came back the next day (what can I say? I miss Taiwanese food after a week in Scotland 😂) and had beef ramen and Taiwanese fried chicken. The service can be improved but overall I feel good about this 5-star rating. I won’t hesitate to come here if I am ever in Glasgow again!

I’m surprised this place has a 4-star rating; I had a very bad experience. I ordered delivery: - Vegetable Gyoza: Crispy but completely flavorless—I couldn’t identify a single ingredient. - Potato Katsu Curry: I appreciated that the curry was served separately so you could add it yourself, but the taste was also disappointing. I decided not to add more and just ate the rice with the vegetables and potato. The rice was a bland, inedible paste, the katsu was mushy with a bad taste, and the vegetables were few and completely flavorless. I usually don’t add salt to my food, so I’m extremely surprised that this meal was so tasteless. On the other hand, the takeaway was very well presented, which makes it even harder to understand why the food quality was so poor.

First time I buy from here and it definitely wont be the last - the bao is AMAZING! I had the pork braised bao and it is the best bao I have ever had. Can't wait to be back

Ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry off the lunchtime menu. Really enjoyable for £6.95, I've been a few times and will definitely be back.

I was looking forward to try some of the Taiwanese food but extremely disappointed, the Taiwanese chicken steak taste nothing like the original Taiwanese chicken if anything I would say the chicken was done in the Special fish butter from the chip shop, no good, it’s disgraceful to even use the Taiwanese on the logo.

Been here today for the first time! Honestly the best Baos i have ever had, highly recommend the braised pork bao. It is really big, comes with cheese and a hash brown inside with a side of salad! And the sauce is amazing too! 10/10. (For the price of a mcdonalds meal you can get a far better, yummier and healthier alternative while supporting the local business!)

Stopped in for a bite of dinner. Excellent value for lunch and a snack. Cute little spot and the food was very well cooked but wasn't quite the flavour bomb I expected. Still very nice and good for a quick bite.

Delicious food for reasonable prices. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. We came at lunchtime and it was mobbed with a take out queue round the corner but we were still served very quickly. Fantastic bao and we had the Aagedashi tofu and vegetable tempura which were equally good.

We tried spicy katsu curry bao bun and it was the best buns we ever had.

Got chicken gyoza and katsu bao. Chicken gyoza was average, I've had a lot of tasty gyozas from various establishments, you could not taste the chicken and it was pretty flavourless. As for the bao, there was no katsu flavours at all. It also had a slice of your daily lea style cheese and hash brown??? If I wanted a zinger burger I could have gone to KFC. Sadly this was neither authentic nor tasty. Below average and I'll be giving this a miss next time.

Sweet and spicy chicken is good. My wife like the beef bao and Taiwan fried chicken. Service is good. The staff is so nice even it was a busy time. We will absolutely come back.

The staff did not respect us, said it was nearly closing time …but took order and was hurrying us to order and she dint gave us time at all … we thought of coming there for the dinner to enjoy with our friends and eat … but we all were very upset and angry at the poor service provided …. she just walked of while taking the order (soo disrespectful). While eating she placed the bill which made all of us very angry ….. and the person dint even know basic manners …. Please never visit to this shop 💯 if you dont want to get disrespected by the staff there ….

A small cafe and takeaway type of place with a few tables. Food cooked fresh with an interesting variety of Taiwanese and other Asian foods. Simple but very tasty.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BAO, IT IS A MUST STOP FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME IN GLASGOW. I have been a few times now, the Baos are absolutely amazing, fantastic place to start or end the night. Friendly staff and a cosy setting, really couldn't recommend enough, stop reading and go, the prices are very fair too!

I’m born and raised in Taiwan and visiting from Los Angeles. This place stacks up for Taiwanese food and is really good. Nice staff too.

Lovely staff and vibe, sat in the window people watching whilst tucking into delicious Bao Buns. I had Chicken Teriyaki and my other half had katsu chicken then we both had teriyaki pork (we're on holiday so pigging out, one each would have been plenty!) - all of which were delicious. Highly recommend.

Found this wee place after the spot I was meant to be going for lunch was closed for refurbishment so hadn’t researched it prior to popping in. Seen their a-frame board outside advertising chicken katsu curry on a special lunch time deal for £6.95 so opted for that. I couldn’t believe I had walked passed this place so many times without getting anything because the katsu curry was hands down the best katsu curry I’ve ever had in my life from any establishment which now confuses me as to why the reviews for this place arnt any better. The seating situation isn’t the best as it’s only a wee place and only has seating for a handful of people which isn’t great during the busy lunch time rush but I managed to get a seat at the window and was content with my newly found lunch spot!

Never in my life I had a Bao bun with hash brown and slice cheese in it. Shocking!

Tried here tonight as fancied Bao buns. We both tried the pork Bao bun which was absolutely 10/10 delicious and the meat just fell apart in a good way. We also shared salt and pepper chips with curry sauce and these were also delicious. Great service, very attentive and fast service. I will most definitely be back.

Ordered the wrong food by accident (ordered POTATO katsu curry instead of CHICKEN katsu curry). It was a genuine accident so we called 1 minute later to switch the order. The lady on phone was so rude saying you have to read the order even though we personally told the lady at the restaurant that we are going to order next time. An honest mistake lead us to decide to never order from here again and not support these types of companies/restaurants.

Had takeaway a few weeks ago from here, which was great. On Monday I was early for an appointment in town so popped in here for a sit down lunch. Service was great and my Chicken Katsu the best I’ve tasted. Had the lunch deal so pretty good value for money.

I popped in for a chicken katsu to takeaway in a hurry as I needed to be somewhere and I didn’t regret it. The katsu was SO GOOD. Best flavour I’ve had by far. Plus the way it was served was great for a quick lunch. The girl that greeted me was very accommodating and polite.

We visited Glasgow this week, and ended up going to Boa twice because we loved it. I ordered two tofu baos with chilli and teriyaki sauces- it was incredible. My partner ordered the pork bao and beef bao, which was really tasty however they messed up an order on our second visit. We were served a bun instead of the bao (though it was still tasty). Should we come back to Glasgow, Bao will be our first stop!

I just walked by and found this restaurant. I won’t say it is really authentic but it’s nice enough and I really enjoyed the dumplings. I ordered braised pork rice and you can see the portion of pork is pretty much which is good value.

Fantastic food for a great price right in the centre of Glasgow, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite - they also have great deals on their lunch menu!

The chicken Bao was amazing and lip smacking. Although my fav will still be chicken katsu. The lunch time discount is great but I hope it will be applied to all the menu items and not just katsu. Seating options are comfortable given the small space this eating place is located. But overall the best place to grab quick yummy food near central station.

Easily worst food we’ve had in a long time. Katsu Bao - nothing like katsu, with a big slice of plastic cheese on it. Pork Bao was the same. Egg Fried rice flavourless. Fried chicken looked and tasted like had been cooked in ruskoline. Only thing we finished was the pork gyoza at start which was more a case of being hungry than because they were good (for comparison try them at Silla). Nothing fresh or tasty about any of it. Do yourself a favour keep walking and don’t waste your money.

Why put a hash brown and a slice of plastic cheese in a bao... at least warm people first.

Popped in on the way home from work for a chicken gyoza ramen. So, so tasty! I love it, this is my new favorite place. Small for sitting in but a good playlist on in the background. Lovely staff too.

Bao Buns and salt and pepper chips were lovely. However, all came with a cheese slice, and this isn't noted anywhere on the menu. As a result one person couldn't eat theres and it went in the bin. Would eat there again, but a menu with more info would be appreciated.

There is a reason this place is busy at lunch, decent price for a lunch katsu and the right amount to not put you into a food slump in the afternoon! Also quick turnaround for those on their lunch break.

Delighted with the food and sevice. The bao buns were fluffy and filled with tasty saucy portions of meat, particularly the Braised pork was really good. Salt pepper chips were delicious and also enjoyed some prawn tempura with light crispy batter. The place is small and more like a takeaway but it fits about 10 people to sit inside. Reasonable prices and a couple of beer / BYOB options

Been a few times now for lunch. Great stuff but I would like more sauce with the meat/rice dishes, always left with extra rice and no sauce.

Great wee place for a quick lunch or dinner. I had the braised beef rice and it was excellently cooked - very tender and falling apart! The only thing I would say is that the bao bun was absolutely covered in Teriyaki sauce (very generous but perhaps a little too much as the taste was quite overwhelming!) - I really enjoyed the addition of the hash brown to the Teriyaki salmon bao bun, but maybe next time I'd ask for it without the slice of cheese on top. Overall worth checking out for a quick and tasty meal!

In Glasgow for a couple of nights and took myself here for dinner. Hands down the best food I’ve eaten out in years. Massive range of veggie options. The salt and pepper tofu was to die for! I also had the potato katsu curry and veg gyozas, all so full of flavour. My server was fab too. Really reasonably priced too considering how big the portions are! Seriously worth the visit 😍

Bao is one of the best little restaurants in Glasgow. Their buns and noodles were both incredibly well flavoured and the spice was perfect. Their presentation was really great, and the staff were very friendly!

Ordered the lunch katsu to go. Very fast service and reasonably priced.

Overall the food is pretty good. One or two small elements had us scratching our head though, like a slice of processed cheese on a cod bao. Staff were very friendly and place was clean and warm

Small place, mostly operates as a takeaway. Decent bun but both buns I tried had a hashbrown and slice of cheese on them that overwhelmed the flavor of the bun, pork/chicken, and sauce completely. I would have preferred a slaw as a topping. Good potential though once they get their bao buns right.
