Food here is incredible and cooked all from fresh. 3 of us popped in out of a whim best decision we made flavours where amazing service was great and the guiness was amazing will be back again.

Food was amazing, incredible flavour and freshly made to order in a relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back for all the things I couldn't order in the one sitting. And then again to order what I had today!

Como chef jubilado, a menudo no me dejo sorprender por un restaurante y tenía poca experiencia en comida africana o caribeña más allá de los estilos habituales del norte de África. Esta señora vierte su corazón en su trabajo y los resultados fueron, para mí, impresionantes. Si tienes alguna duda sobre probar la comida africana (una persona con la que hablé imaginó que era picante por alguna razón) comienza tu viaje aquí. Nunca antes había brotado sobre un restaurante tanto como este. Trajo la alegría de vuelta a comer.

I am in two or three times a week, I am a retired chef and this lady cooks food that makes me smile before I even eat it. And for those who need to know - you can also park there!

Está a un paseo del centro de la ciudad, pero vale la pena. La mejor comida afrocaribeña que he tenido. Los alimentos son frescos, sabrosos y de buen tamaño. No será del gusto de todos ya que es muy picante como cabría esperar. Es un entorno poco discreto (no elegante) y parece hacer un servicio de comida para llevar rugiente más que un restaurante, pero yo estaba cómodo y cuidado. Volveré pronto (con suerte)

Very friendly staff and food cooked with due care

This is one of the best African Caribbean Restaurants in Glasgow, never let us down. The food and the service from the staff absolutely good. You order your food and they cook everything fresh from scratch, you might wait for 30 to 40 minutes but the wait is worth it if you want to eat a delicious meal from Africa.

Absolute amazing!! If you need a Caribbean fix, this is place to be. Everything was made fresh and served piping hot. Loved the jerk chicken with plantain and also the ackee and saltfish. They have hearty portions so opt to share if possible.

Lovely place to get a bite to eat, portion sizes do fill you up quite a bit. Authentic African cuisine and halal menu too 😁

glasgow may not have copious options for afro-caribbean food, but Bantaba more than makes up for that. easily one of the best reasons to come to the east end.

I will never buy this again. The-meats does not cook properly. It even give me allergic reaction. Totally waste of money.

Fantastic African restaurant! The customer service was excellent, and the food was fresh and delicious, served very quickly too. Restaurant is very clean with elegant decor and smells wonderful too. It's a refreshing change from other African restaurants in Glasgow. Very glad I visited!

Food took 2hrs to arrive. Don't order if you're hungry, order at lunchtime if you want it there for dinner time.

My delivery was very late and I was not a big fan of the food especially that I paid £50. I was not happy with the food at all!

Went for dinner. Loads of options. Plenty of spice. Seems authentic. Down to earth setting, nothing fancy. Food is freshly prepared as it took a while. Gambia tomato stew was great

If you're looking for a break from bland UK food, Bantaba Afro Caribbean Restaurant definitely delivers on the flavor front. I tried the lamb, which was delicious, and the jerk chicken. Be warned though - that jerk chicken lives up to its name! It was incredibly spicy, even for someone like me who enjoys heat. Overall, I liked the food, but be prepared for some serious spice if you order the jerk chicken!

Lovely service and the food was sooo good- i’m so full, the portions are big too. We even got moved to a nice big table when we had too many plates for where we were sitting. Good music too :)) We got: Curry goat, rice and pea, jollof rice, chicken, plantain, dumplings and pastry

Peanut butter soup and jerk tofu were fantastic, and service above and beyond. Ginger juice was delicious, not like anything I've had before. Highly recommend. I notice other reviews mention issues I've also experienced ordering from here through Just Eat. I'm quite sure the issue is Just Eat. Visit the restaurant!

Bantaba is consistently amazing. Best jollof in Glasgow, their meat is really good quality, and their delivery drivers are also lovely! Their delivery always takes over an hour but we always order extra early to accommodate for this, plus we live a good distance from the restaurant so we are just happy they deliver to us!

Goat curry was lovely I messed this so much and the service was amazing 👏 🙌 definitely worth the trip don't pay attention to any of the bad comments it's definitely worth every penny

Absolutely stunning food, very decent portions sizes and all dishes beautifully flavoured and seasoned to perfection. Defo recommend the fish! Delivery was very slightly later than first suggested but notified well in advance so no issue.

The food was sensational, the flavors and the food texture was just amazing!! And the service was very good!! 6 stars for them!!!

yummy, fresh and flavoursome food - we ordered for delivery and food arrived fast and hot! loved the plaintains, chicken stew and jerk chicken and all the tasty sides too. good sized portions, looking forward to eating at the restaurant and trying more delicious food :)

We tried the food as we have never tried food like this before. It was full of flavour and the portion sizes were lovely. It was good for trying the first time. Personally the wings were my favorite as I prefer spice and meat tastes instead of fish however the egusi soup was full of flavour. Happy to have tried it :)

Food are absolute flavor bombs. Main courses are amazing. Definitely a great and authentic experience into African food!

Delivery time was longer due to street closure from cycling event. Food was still hot though and our meals delicious. The extra wait was worth it! Poor driver had reported almost double delivery distance/times due to diversions, undoubtedly with additional fuel costs leaving them out of pocket.

Tried here for the first but definitely not last time, food was incredible, chicken was literally falling off the bone, oxtail was so full of flavour, we ordered a variety of things to sample the menu a bit and every single dish get devoured, zero complaints!

Would highly recommend never had African cuisine knew about the culture and people such a good variety and great staff.

After waiting over an hour for my food the food tasted horrible…I ordered suya and I got this awful gizzard mix instead puff puff was too dry and tasted like chalk. Never again! Waste of money.

Bantaba is a fantastic restaurant. The place is spacious, natural light streaming through the window and the food was just amazing! The chicken spring rolls are a lovely hot surprise, best ones I’ve ever tasted. The Chicken Yassa was delicious and the red rollof rice on the ball! The portions of the man meal were great, I couldn’t finish it and leave room for my excellent puff puff dessert with chocolate sauce, gorgeous piping hot, light crunchy pastry balls. Thank you for the excellent service and food we will definitely be back!

Really good innovative menu. We dropped in to Bantaba after attending a function this evening not really knowing what to expect. The friendly waiter guided us through the menu and so we finished with two entirely different but equally enjoyable meals. Thoroughly recommend.

Really great food have tried a lot of Caribbean places this is a great one. Great portions as well.

That was an abysmal serving of the oxtail... like, really I got 1 medium sized piece and 3 small pieces (possibly halved) with a tonne of gravy instead just to hide the fact that there was early any meat given....and the consistency of the gravy is very watery and not sauce-y at all. Food was hot but disappointed at the portion. Salad was literal just chopped lettuce - nothing to it. Rice and peas were so dry....where is the coconut in it? Think this restaurant just caters to suit a Westerner's palate more than an Africans.

I wouldn't order from this place. Food almost 2 hours late. Rice was bland, beans were mush, plantain was soggy/sloppy and bland. Just Eat claimed this was the restaurants "style" of food. Their style of food must also include chicken doused in grease. The portion sizes were (mercifully) rather small. Oh and the veg was cleary pre-frozen stuff you would get from a budget supermarket. 90% of what we ordered went in the bin. The menu looks and sounds fantastic, in reality it was way below mediocre.

Food arrived nearly 2 hours after I ordered it. Veg was clearly pre frozen and from a packet, rice was bland and beans mushy. Plantain was soggy. Chicken wings were OK, as was the oxtail but very small portions. The chicken main was swimming in oil. Nowhere near worth the wait or money. Still hungry and definitely would not recommend this place.

Finally goat meat on the bone! Delicious - maybe could do with a little more spice (scotch bonnet). Rice & peas are dry though, maybe give options on what rice we want for both oxtail & goat meat etc mains... Just a suggestion but overall great. I'll make an in-store visit soon.

I went here for the first time and I was really impressed. It's more like a Gambian restaurant but it's got lots of African delicacies. I would urge anyone and everyone to try it out and feel for themselves. And it's relatively affordable too.

The appearance is something else to me which gives me the comfortability in having the desire to be at Bantaba Afro Caribbean Restaurant present to find out for myself too. I'm coming!

The Jollof Rice tasted different than usual. I like this one better, it was tangy and full of flavours. Keep it up guys.

Que delícia de lugar. Estava próximo visitando alguns pontos turísticos e vi sobre esse restaurante. Quis aproveitar para experimentar algo novo. E esperei na porta até abrir pois eram 2:45pm e só abria as 3:30 E valeu muito a pena Pois além do staff ter sido muito gentil, a comida é absurdamente gostosa. Parecida um pouco com a do Brasil, pedi um filé de peixe que acompanha arroz, salada e banana frita, mas com um sabor africano, amei provar esse prato típico. Algumas coisas são apimentadas mas eu gosto, então para meu paladar foi no ponto certo. Mas se você não gosta muito de pimenta pode pedir pra eles reduzirem. Experimentei também o suco típico de hibisco de amei. Super recomendo.

To be honest this isn’t a bad post about the restaurant. Ok the food was late, but it was still hot and delicious. Most of all the lovely delivery driver couldn’t apologise enough. Since the restaurant is very busy, I shall make sure I order earlier . Great food
