Average central Darlington hotel.Decent rooms let down by only average food and service.Breskfast only good thing was fruit salad ,cooked food no taste and low quality ingredients.The entrance to get into the hotel by car is poorly sign posted and only visible from 1 road

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, good cocktails. Love to go back again to enjoy more.

Food was very poor and cold . Witherspoons would be better.

What a dump. Rotten old bathroom from the 70s with new sloppy silicone around the fixtures. Really? For 150£ a night? When I checked in I went to the toilet in the basement. Chips on the floor. See photo. After a shower one of those Silverfish ran out over my bath mat. Flipped mat around to get a photo. Stayed one night instead of 2. Never again.

Quiet hotel, quite dated and resonably priced when paying for the early saver or deals they do, wouldn't say it was a 4 star hotel, attention to detail is not there. Staff are friendly and the environment is relaxed. We had breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea which were all underwhelming. The bread for the sandwiches was stale on the outside, although not expected to be made at the time, it isn't expected to be stale to touch either. Good selection of food options to be had and very reasonably priced courses. Small details like the toilet paper being basically transparent is important, and the female hygiene bins used during the stay had to be opened by hand, rather than the sensor working to keep it non touch. Parking is limited on an evening but better during the day. The room was OK, really hot although radiators not on, bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, dated, wear and tear, bottle water would be a suggestion as kettle is provided but no water. Alright as a night stop over, but wouldn't say more then that

Fantastic stay , I know people leave the odd one star review but please ignore , it's true what they say out can't please every one . Breakfast the next day was fantastic .

Overall: great stay, would visit again! Best bits: every member of staff I spoke to was just lovely and very helpful! The hotel was clean and nicely presented with a large selection of rooms. The breakfast buffet was sublime, well cooked and fresh! They had the usual menu of toast, hot items, pastry, cereal and fruit/ yoghurt! We got tea and coffee, plus juice also! (If you’re hash-brown shy, I’d recommend the ones here, not greasy at all). Even better ifs: the lift is a little scary, and the hot tap in the bathroom was very tricky to turn which was stressful but luckily no flooding occurred!

The lift was out of order so hoiking up 2x flights of stairs with lots of bags was a challenge! The bedroom was ridiculously hot and the bed had a real lean to it so ended up sleeping at the strangest of angles. Reception staff later in the evening were polite but it did feel like we were bothering them. Conference facilities were good with a pleasent lunch and our meeting room was ideal for our needs. Car parking is always a bit of a challenge so arrive early

This is a lovely hotel with nice comfortable rooms and the food is excellent but the best thing about it is the staff. From the housekeeper's to the bar and restaurant staff they couldn't do more for you,they are friendly, professional and very helpful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Lovely hotel and a brilliant location just a quick walk to the town centre. Booked this last minute in the early hours of the morning, having been unable to get a taxi home. Nice comfy beds and a lovely breakfast the next morning. We also made use of the spa however i totally forgot that this was not on site and is a good 10-minute walk away across town. Nice friendly staff.

Attended a rep night at the Bannatyne hotel. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Afternoon tea , choice of tasties was brilliant.

Stayed the night for valentines and staff where great and room was nice. Offer on for 3 course meal so instead of going out on the town we eat there. Breakfast was lovely too, highly recommended

Well stayed here on Friday night 23rd February. Room was lovely big comfy bed bottle of fizz in the room which we ordered,not complementary I may add. The hotel built in 1804 and amazing place, lovely compliments coffee,tea ,and biscuits nice touch. Evening meal was top notch,great service all the staff are very polite,and very knowledgeable. Breakfast was 10/10 my full English was excellent big thank you to the kitchen staff. Yes I would stay here again,free yes free parking excellent 👌👍. Regards Steve Scarborough. Ps you might think about caffeine free coffee sachets in the room .

Ottima posizione a due passi dal centro, le stanze sono comode e funzionali e il personale molto disponibile ed educato. Ottimo parcheggio per motociclisti in tour.
