Food was really nice as well as the service.

My first time here. And my last.. windows and glass cabinets filthy. Not been cleaned or polished for ages. The floor was sticky and the bathroom not very nice at all. Coffee was way too weak, paninis took ages but tasted ok. Nice enough people but I’m sorry, this place is lacking any attention to detail. Lose the plastic green foliage too, it looks awful. Please listen to the glass comments, at a minimum they should be cleaned regularly. I wasn’t the only one in our group to notice these things. I hope these things will improve.

I had fantastic Samosas that took me back when I was little, good amount of heat, although it's a bit pricey since I paid £7.45 for a little nibble but still gets a good review, I believe this place can stand out! :)

I got the best South Indian and Srilankan food here. It's awesome quality and quantity at affordable prices. The only South Indian restaurant I love in Ashford. Especially this Saturday meal that was awesome. Will visit regularly. I think this meal combo is only available on Saturdays. South Indian people and Sri Lankan people should never miss this one.

Great cafe, very clean, excellent service. I went to the Sri Lankan evening buffet recently. Very impressive. Also have lunch there occasionally. Club sandwich very good.

Coming from the food scene in Toronto, Canada, I'm really happy to have such delicious, authentic Sri Lankan food right here in Ashford!

Absolutely amazing food and service. The quality of the meal was excellent, and you could tell it was home-made. The staff really care that you have a good evening, and it shows. We couldn't recommend it more for either the Sri-Lankan buffet, or daytime meals.

Took my daughter for a breakfast. How on earth they got our simple order wrong is still baffling me. Asked for eggs sunny side up, they brought scrambled, forgot about my black pudding, the mustard on the table expired 1 year ago. My daughter’s milkshake was milk with nesquick. The Cumberland sausages were disgusting. Avoid this place

Yesterday, I ordered a biryani take away and a masala tea.Unfortunately, it didn’t met my expectation( taste was dull and amount was very small portion)as per the price. However, the only good thing was the aunty doing the services with a smile.

The food took a looooong time to come out (perhaps they need to increase staffing or there was an issue...) but my gosh was it worth the wait. Sri Lankan Dishes, that included things like chicken curry with pickled papaya side salad! Unbelievable

Read about this place in the Guardian and popped in for brunch - were offered a breakfast menu and Sri Lankan menu and so pleased we chose the latter! Delicious fresh food and very reasonable, my friend had chicken biriyani and I had a lovely stir fry with chicken and vegetables and strips of roti instead of noodles. Never eaten that before and it keeps popping into my head it was so good! Def worth making a trip here if you find yourself in Ashford, only 5-10 mins walk from the train station.

Friendly, welcoming owner, an extensive choice of meals on offer, didn't have time for the full English, but had a tasty toasted sandwich, and a coffee. Can recommend!

Been in Bank Street Cafe several times. Owners and staff are very friendly and the food is great. Recently went with a few friends for a pre Christmas meal; it was delicious. We will certainly be returning. Highly recommend Bank Street Cafe.

We booked a table for 8 yesterday for a pre Christmas meal with friends. Some of us had Roast Turkey meal & some had Roast Beef meal. Very reasonable cost. They had all the trimmings & everyone loved the tasty food. We enjoyed catching up with each other. We certainly will come again soon!

My partner and I found this cafe after getting caught out in the rain with the baby. The service was great, super friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic and it has a great menu to choose from. We especially loved the sri lankan dishes, I would 100% recommend!

Bank street cafe offer a variety of food from authentic Sri Lankan food, lovely coffee, shakes, English breakfast. The quality of food, atmosphere and hospitality are amazing. We highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Awful experience, food was so bad we left loads , fried bread is stale seeded brown bread deep fried 😫, bacon is thin cheap and tasteless. Unlimited breakfast they said but they do not come to table ever again after serving you not even to get more drinks so you can't order more food ,not that u would want to 🤢 . When I explained how bad breakfast was the lady moaned and said 'we have to pay for that food and make money so you have to pay " she did take £2 off the bill ( laughable) as a good will gesture even though we didn't eat the breakfast. Please avoid this place as I promise you will be disappointed

One of the cafe, I recently visited for my evening tea. I was directed to this cafe as there is availability of Sri Lankan cusine.. I was welcomed very well and I had a nice mutton rolls and coffee of Sri Lankan style. Environment is lovely and pleasant and hospitality is superb.

Phenomenal food! Best I've had for sure! The food was exploding with flavour and the dips complemented the flavours very well. The staff were super friendly. Overall a fantastic experience!!

Under new management, the menu has been revamped and several new offerings. Highly recommend the summer drink - think it was a peach lemonade spritzer. If you appreciate spicy food then their Sri Lankan specials are available. Highly recommend the `Lamp Rice` dish available in chicken or mutton. Do check with management as the dishes are not available every day but certain dishes are on set days. Staff are very friendly, courteous and I can vouch they make the effort to speak with every customer. And huge bonus - the venue is dog friendly!

Had the chicken kottu delivered for lunch and I must say the food tasted really nice. It was the right amount of spice, flavour and size. The food was packed in neat and clean brown paper boxes which is very environmentally friendly. Will definitely order again. Keep up the good work!

I came here for lunch with my daughter and friend a couple of days ago for an afternoon meal. We had a lovely friendly welcome and personalised attention throughout. My friend and myself tried some wonderful Sri Lankan dishes, so tasty and my daughter had the club sandwich which she really enjoyed. If you haven't been here already we recommend you to try it, we will be back for sure.

We were passing through Bank Street and noticed "Bank Street Cafe" so we decided to give it a try. Overall a good Cafe, food was pretty decent, well cooked and portion size was adequate, there is plenty of seating available. It lost a star as the service was slow in my opinion, it wasn't at all busy but the food was slow to arrive so would be reluctant to visit again if it was remotely busy. The atmosphere is lacking any theme or personality to speak of although it was functional, staff were friendly and polite.

Fantastic service with a great menu that offers both British and Sri Lankan cuisine. The layout of the cafe is excellent and gives off a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a cafe worth visiting.

I ordered some Paninis for myself, wife and daughter plus a muffin each and chicken wrap for my son. What arrived was well presented, hot and even a thank you sticker for ordering. The food was fresh, clean and crisp and full of flavour. I rang and congratulated the manageress; a charming woman and promised an honest review. Best Paninis in town!

The Café is one of the best in Ashford, it has fast and reliable service, the food is always great and the staff are lovely. Would recommend!

Terrible management, rude owners, lets their children get in the way of the staff. Menu is ridiculous (£10 for a sandwich). Treats their workers horribly. Makes fun of people with disabilities in the back. The fact that they think this is a review from a previous employee shows that they are not genuine and are hiding their true colours. Believe it or not, we have eyes and ears and can see and hear how disgusting the behaviour is in the back. Fortunately, this does not apply for the friendly staff upfront who welcome the customers with kindness.

First visit today after hearing good things about the cafe from friends. Impressive! Clean throughout with good service from staff. A decent choice of foods, which also accommodated my wife's gluten-free needs. Children were happy with their meals as well. Nice place to come for food or just a relaxing cuppa. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Great Sri Lankan food and excellent bubble tea

Great food, great prices, very warm staff and a wonderful ambience. New owners are fantastic. A value for money place. The fish and chips we ordered was excellent, must try ! Kids enjoyed their food. There were several beverage options to choose from

The new owners clearly know what they’re doing! I’ve now visited twice and the food was very, very good. My other half is gluten free and they took care of him too. His only gripe was that the condiments are ‘may contain’ but that’s it. The decor and atmosphere are worth commenting on too. It feels clean, modern and the vibe was a fun one. There was even some impromptu singing when certain songs came over the speaker. No one else does that in Ashford!

Amazing such lovely people who run this they offer a great range of food it's a lovely place to sit and watch the world go past or wait for your bus or grab a coffee while you wait to watch a movie. They have a room that people can use to hold small parties or meetings. Great place to have a staff meeting out of the office and drink nice coffee. Will definitely become a regular here .

Visited for the first time today. We had brunch - superbly cooked - and very hot. Was able to take our dog in too which was a bonus. The place was spotless and the staff very friendly. Fair prices as well. Will definitely be going back there again. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. Highly recommend 👌

This looks great from the outside and to be honest inside looks good too. But, the food is terrible. If you want a slowly cooked, deep fat fried, breakfast full of calories for a survival weekend, this is the place to come. Firstly the service is nice and friendly the staff are warm and welcoming, so we'll done to them all. The decor and inside looks pretty smart to for a Cafe. We ordered 4 cooked breakfast which came to £28. The tea came out with a milky tea bag floating in unprecedented tea. The coffee was nice with a reasonable good standard made to the cappuccino. All of the food looked deep fried and soggy with grease. Need I say more? Just try some soggy greasy fried bread with a deep fat fried mushroom and yourll get the point. I left most of it. We need a great cafe in Ashford so cook this better and I'm sure the Bank st cafe will do very well. It is cheap, as it should be, its just a shame its no good.

Really enjoyed it staff was nice and welcoming the only disappointment was the chicken nuggets are cheap and hard hoping they will change that but for now 5*
