Outstanding menu, almost too exhaustive. When you come across a majority of dishes which you don't know, I believe that's very exciting. 'Chef specials' two chicken options were interesting and tasty. My elderly mother who can't take spicy food anymore, loved the simplicity of hers. Overall truly great value for money Thai, well worth trying out.

Found this Restaurant by accident. So glad we did. The food was excellent and the staff and service was too. Would highly recommend you try this. we did look into another one a few doors away and did not feel welcomed at all so our gain was that we found this one.

We have enjoyed going here for ages, but under the new management team something has gone wrong with the standard of service. Waiters flit all over the restaurant, so either you wait ages for one, or you get asked for your order in quick succesion by two different waiters, unaware a college has already taken it. Diners arriving after us, had been serverd starters & onto the main courses, whilst our crispy duck still hadn't arrived. We did ask why the poor service, and the reply wasn't satisfactory, so we didn't leave a tip. My Pad Nam Mun Hoy chicken dish was pretty tasteless, bordering on the chicken being undercooked. Everyone else was satisfied with their selections. It's the second time we've come away feeling disappointed. It's a shame, but we've agreed if that happens again, we will have to adopt one of Cheltenham's other Thai restaurants instead.

Been going for years but felt the overall experience has gone down hill a bit, food was sub standard and service was un attentive. Repeatedly had to remind them we had ordered drinks. Need to do better! Salad was lifeless

Ordered takeout Tom Kha Gai, tord mun pla, pad thai veg. What can i say food was absolutely awfully cold and small portions tom kha gai soup missing ingredient no lime leaves no lemon grass smell no fresh chillis no galangal! Wasted dinner and money! Definitely not recommended this!

Giving 3 stars because for me this was more Chinese than Thai. The flavours were also toned down for Westerners. The staff were however friendly and efficient. It's extremely hard to find any good Thai food outside of Thailand ... sadly Cheltenham is not a place where you will find any.

Best Thai in Cheltenham. Lunchtime menu is great value

The staff were lovely and felt overall the service although at some points slow it was ok. The Tom ka soup was really lovely and had a nice kick to it. However, pad Thai on the other hand was very bland, and was not good sadly. The chicken was still very juicy and the other dishes specifically the green Thai curry was great. I think having some extra condiments on the table such as fish sauce could have helped. Also it will be even better if they offer thai milk tea. The toilets were clean and the overall atmosphere was nice. The second floor also felt very dark and could have been a bit more lively.

We had relatives visiting from.Tennessee two of them being vegetarian.there were 8 of us and every one of us had a wonderful meal .I would have no hesitation in recommending Thai Bangkok to anyone.

Lovely food, good value, will be going again

We asked for a Larb Gai (not on lunch menu, but we’d seen it on the evening menu). They were happy to oblige. Having spent a long while in Thailand and loving the real Thai food, we asked for it to be authentic and spicy. It was perfect! Every bit as good as you’d find in Thailand. Just make sure you ask if you don’t want bland euro versions of the Thai dishes.

Excellent food - in particular the Crying Tiger is recommended. Great service and good value.

Beautiful clean restaurant, staff are lovely, service is great, reasonably priced food and it came out quickly. The dishes were good, but I have to say it was all rather mild - not too much chili or fish sauce, and so on - as if toning it down a bit for the British public. I am sure people could handle a proper spicy red curry.. or perhaps it would be better to ask people at the table if they want it hot? No condiments with the Pad Thai (fish sauce, sugar, chili, etc) which makes a such big difference to the dish. Overall, nice meal and will be going again.

Excellent experience last night there. Lovely designed interior with a calm and relaxing vibe. Fantastic superior service - extremely friendly female server. Had the sweet and sour chicken - delicious! Also had the veggie pad Thai - which was good - but I’ve honestly had many better pad Thais before. Thought it could have used more flavor. Also had another dish which I can’t recall the name of, but it was delicious. Finished it off with sticky toffee pudding (not very Thai), but FANTASTIC! Was warm and served with ice cream. Have it! I would definitely come back if I lived closer. ☺️☺️

Lovely authentic Thai food. Not just your generic dishes but lots of choices. Staff were friendly and recommended a different beer too which was much appreciated.

Went with my son who is Vegan. Although not shown on menu a good selection of Vegan choices available if you ask. We all really enjoyed it. As usual!

Just ordered a takeaway 2 portions of noodles wich cost me 20£! One was with pork meat and the other one with king prawns , The pork pot all good, the king prawn had only 2 pieces of prawns ! I couldn't believe it ! I wasn't expecting a full pot of prawns but at least 4 or 5 pieces not 2 !That's the ibly reason fir 2 stars ! I won't come back here again !

Wonderful hosts and good quality food.

Great food, however the service is inconsistent. Our drinks and soups were forgotten, and we were blamed for not receiving either of them. I gave 4 stars for the service and not 3 because they did turn it around in the end. The atmosphere upstairs is very depressing and it's freezing. I appreciate they got us at the last minute, but if you're not offering the same level of service then don't bother, it will ruin the experience for customers and it'll only go against you.

The Pad Thai here is great! It came along with 2 spring rolls which were good too.

This restaurant has great reviews and they are richly deserved. We went for a shopping break lunch. Polite and attentive staff in this very authentic Thai restaurant. House wines thoughtfully selected. Lunch menu is simple but superb with very generous fresh cooked meat portions with crispy vegetables. In terms of experience, venue, quality of food, service and cost this restaurant is hard to beat in Cheltenham assuming of course you like Thai food. Brilliant and thank you we will certainly be back despite our 24 mile journey.

Best place for thai food authentic taste and different dishes then a common thai curries options Delicious food in almost no waiting time. Very nice ambience plenty of good seating space in ground and first floor. I will recommend early booking of your table. Go indulge yourself in an authentic THAI cuisine

Came here tonight for a meal. Absolutely brilliant. 7 of us including a 3 year old. Restaurant was extremely busy but we were really well looked after and the food was exquisite. Thank you, we will be coming again!

The best Thai restaurant for miles. Lovely ambience, friendly, efficient & discreet service & beautiful food to tantalise & tickle your taste buds at very reasonable prices. (Parking available in the large car park opposite is a bonus). A must go to place - but remember to book - this is a very popular restaurant!

Best Thai in Cheltenham by far! I grew up in Southeast Asia and have been to Thailand over 15 times, and I can say that the food we had at this restaurant was as authentic as it gets! Papaya salad was perfect, as was the massaman and jungle curry. The waiters even accommodated go our spice requirements and made both dishes more spicy that initially advertised. The service was great - the lady who served us was smiley, funny and attentive. I ordered a pot of jasmine tea, and got a full cup of tea + full pot on order; it’s the little things that set great establishments from the average. Overall amazing ambience, we will definitely be back again.

Best Thai restaurant in Cheltenham!

Came up from london to visit family and found this lovely thai restaurant. The food was amazing and came out so hot too, which was a plus for me as i dont like cold food when its meant to be hot. We had the bangkok 1 meal for two sharing, there was plenty of food and we couldnt manage it all. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Would certainly come back next time we are in cheltenham. Hats off to all staff and thankyou for a lovely meal

We spent our daughter's birthday celebration here. I was surprised that they did prepare birthday banners for her. Food was great and affordable. Me and my friends and specially my daughter had a wonderful time!

First time in Cheltenham and was looking for a Thai place for dinner - first went into the The Vine but was ignored so went up the road and found this restaurant. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted, warmly welcomed, and seated at a lovely table for one. The ambience and decor is just splendid here and there's a feeling if unpretentious class so I didn't feel uncomfortable not having dressed up. Tom yum soup for starter with plump mushrooms and a generous serving of 5 king prawns. The broth was spicy and hot which was surprisingly refreshing. The tofu Pad Thai for mains was filling, piping hot and well cooked. Compliments to the chef. I heard a number of other diners praising their meals too. And one of the customers when leaving hugged the lady host... The whole place has such a lovely feel to it. Highly recommended.

Lived in BKK for over 8 years and now in cheltenham. This is my little home away from home, same hospitality and same food standards! Immaculate (and the staff are extremely nice as well)

Food ok. Like a fridge inside, when it was only 23c outside. Shivered through my 3 courses, which incidentally, all arrived at once. So one course was hot, the second lucke warm and the third cold. No brains.

Absolute gem in the centre of Cheltenham that 100% lives up to the 5 star reviews! The food was authentic and absolutely divine and some of the best Thai food my husband and I have ever had. Gorgeous decor inside as well. The service from Imelda & Sam was amazing, such lovely people and very efficient service. Will most definitely come back when we are back in Cheltenham!

Visiting from London and decided to order takeaway from Bangkok Thai. Food was excellent and staff friendly. We had four dishes all of which were fresh with great flavour. Delicious prawn crackers too.

Absolutely love Thai food, and this restaurant serves dishes that never fails to get the taste buds zinging! I really like it here, as the staff are so friendly and approachable (it is a well established family run business), and the menu has lots of dishes to try. Two of us visited on a Friday evening, walking in with no reservation and found the place with a gently buzzing ambience. I'd describe the decor and feeling as convivial. We shared a starter of tofu tempura, which sounds better than it is, especially with sweet chilli dipping sauce. Then we had a beef dish and a tofu and cashew nut dish, that were SO tasty! With a shared bowl of coconut rice. Now I've forgotten the name of the dishes, but everything here tastes good! Afterwards, we sampled the MOST amazing fried coconut filled pancake with coconut ice cream. It was bizarrely coloured green, but once you get the taste, it makes you completely forget... well, pretty much everything, it was so good. We left the restaurant nicely full, not popping at the seams, and I'd say the eat in prices are really very reasonable for what you get. I'd really recommend eating here for a casual evening out with friends or family.

We just had a wonderful meal at this lovely restaurant. It was our third visit over the last couple of years and we were treated like long lost friends. The service was impeccable and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb and we were impressed at how consistently good the food is. We travel from Surrey to visit close friends who live outside Cheltenham and this is our default meeting place as we can catch up and have a really enjoyable meal knowing that we can relax and leave the brilliant staff at Bangkok Thai to take care of us. Leaving is always sad as we know it will be a few months until our next visit. We just cannot recommend this place highly enough!
