Banana Tree - Angel in Islington

We had an excellent meal at the Banana Tree Islington this evening. The staff were wonderful particularly Angela who served out table. Would definitely return. Delicious food and good value for money.

I recently visited the banana Tree, it was my first time there in Angel, thank you Maria for your attentive service and hospitality. As for food, I had Thai panang curry and chicken dumplings. The panang curry was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of spice and rice. The chicken was tender and infused with deep flavors, making every bite a delight. As for the chicken dumplings, they were a fantastic appetiser steamed to perfection, the dumplings were soft and filled with a savory mixture of minced chicken and herbs. They came with a delicious sauce that added an extra layer of flavor. Overall, the meal was really good, and I highly recommend especially as a pit stop before a concert or event.

The food was decent. I had the teriyaki salmon. It tasted okay. Just okay. My cousin had the salad which she said was amazing. I had a virgin Pina colada which was delicious. I'm still thinking about it. The atmosphere is also super cute and it's walking distance from the tube and the doubletree. I would def visit if you're looking for a quick Asian bite restaurant. The staff is super friendly as well and the restaurant is clean

Was greeted and served by Maria. Maria was an absolute joy. From the time we entered to the time we left, Maria’s customer service was on point! She was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. When asked for recommendations she was able to help and kept asking if everything was okay. She spent time and chatted to us which was lovely. Great customer service. Thank you Maria for being so lovely and keeping a smile on your face that was genuine! Would definitely go back again x

Great service from Vamshio and the rest of the team at the Angel branch! Always a pleasure stopping here, been coming since 2013 and will forever get the Mango lime chicken. The mango rice pudding is also to die for!

Mesi offered me a choice of tables, was polite, courteous, wore a gorgeous blue jacket and made forks appear out of thin air for me! The food was delicious too - the Banana Tree spiced noodles. 👌🏼

Came here for dinner after seeing good reviews for a thai place, chicken dumplins starter was lovely, for main I got the beef rendang curry flavours were great however dish was served more warm than hot and towards the end the whole dish was cold and im quite a quick eater, service was abit annoying there were two servers and it was quiet they both kept coming over and asking the same question as the other, recieved the bill, paid cash and the waitress just said thank you and didnt bring over the change, I just let it go as it was around £3 but after paying a 12.5% service charge she should of gave me change and let me decide what to do with it instead of just keeping it Would visit a bananatree again just probably not this one

First experience with this chain and mostly positive. Good menu selection and food delivered matched up....and tastey. Good portion of pad Thai. Banana fritter dessert pretty good. Initially served by manager who was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the other staff were less professional, asked to drop optional service charge at checkout, and was questioned why and then had the two male staff muttering to each other. Sorry chaps you need to learn manners before expecting a tip....for nothing. Would try the chain again but watch out for large service charge added onto your bill!.....Tip staff directly.

Very personable staff and very tasty food and yummy drinks.

Somehow they managed to give two of us non-vegan prawn crackers with an entirely vegan order, which was gross and concerning. Also I'm pretty sure I found chicken in my vegan drunken noodles as the piece tasted completely different from the soya pieces and had a different texture. Very unimpressed

This was meant to be a colleagues lunchtime meal but it soon became more than just lunch. We extremely enjoyed the food, the drinks and the atmosphere.

Food was beautifully served however service charge was too high and easily missed as being an option. Staff at check out had attitude issues when requesting removal of services charge.

Embarrassingly small portion of the Beef Rendang. Not even enough for one person and very over priced. Would not recommend. Thai green was also flavourless with overcooked chicken

As regular customers, we must admit this place always meets our high gourmet food expectations. Staff is very friendly and Mesi who is the friendliest team member delivers premium customer service. She is bubbly, knowledgeable and always has a warm tone. Food is fantastic. Recommended for all ages!

Good luck making a booking over the telephone.

They are arrogant & rude. Customer service is not a priority here. Sure the food is ok but when you are charging twice as much as the same quality available at a takeaway 1 mile away you need to dress it up, be nice, friendly, even make your guests feel valued (god forbid) & give your punters a reason to pay the extra.

Food is delicious, but amazed at how unhelpful that guy on the phone was, when I called to ask that my delivery order be made gluten free (since they allow for some dishes to be gluten free, but you have to call to let them know). Very rude and poor customer service. I asked to speak with someone else, and he said that he was the manager. Please find a new manager.

The service was excellent. The person that met us was warm and welcoming and our server, Nair, was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, although with a little less rice and a little more sauce our main course would have been perfect. The prawn crackers were the best we’d ever eaten and the pandan pancake filled with coconut was scrumptious. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back.

Delicious dishes, the meat is tender, tasty and juicy. The welcome is pleasant and the atmosphere is warm, we had a pleasant time with the family.

After reading the reviews, I had high expectations, but the food was disappointing. As a fan of Vietnamese and Thai cuisine, I found this to be a poor imitation of both. I won’t be returning.

We went to Banana Tree, Angel to celebrate my friend’s diploma, and overall, it was a great experience. The Laksa I had was slightly different from what I remember (maybe there’s a new chef), but the highlight of our visit was the exceptional service. A special shoutout to Mesi, who went above and beyond to make our day special. She not only provided excellent service but also recommended the best dessert we’ve ever had at Banana Tree. Her team’s customer service was outstanding—they were attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend visiting when Mesi and her team are on shift for a top-notch experience.

Ordered online paid £15 plus delivery which isn’t cheap! They only gave me 4 prawns I’ve ordered before and it normally 8 completely unfair considering this is a £15 pad Thai! Do better

Main was cold, I reckon it was microwave cooked. Stairs to toilets was filthy and overall the place smells bad. I live locally and will never return.

Honestly slightly below average food We got 4 dishes and all 4 were borderline disappointing. I don't know who I'd recommend this restaurant to.

Below average food. Felt like everything is from a frozen section of a supermarket. The quality of the food nowhere justifies the prices. I got the wings, dumplings and gochujang rice bowl. Barely edible. The drinks were from low quality juice cartons.

Absolutely fantastic evening at the Banana Tree! Top quality food (satay to die for!). I was on a business trip with friends and we all absolutely loved it. The service was fantastic and we didn’t have to wait an age for food which is always a bonus! We will definitely be going back!
