Great dinner at Banana Tree Angel! Mesi and the team were very welcoming and accommodating! Had a Beef Rendang which was absolutely mouthwatering and full of flavours. The Bao Bomb dessert was delicious too! Would definitely recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Banana Tree in Islington, and I must say, the experience was fantastic! I tried the vegan chicken katsu, and it was nothing short of incredible. The texture was spot on, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. It’s rare to find a vegan dish that not only satisfies your cravings but also surprises your taste buds. The crispy coating paired perfectly with the accompanying sauce, making for a delightful meal that I can't stop thinking about. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Banana Tree to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience, especially if you're a fan of vegan cuisine. I can’t wait to return and try more dishes! Nair was super attentive with a beautiful warm smile. The blast of icy wind every time the door opened next to us suitable only for huskies.

We recently visited 'Banana Tree' branch at Islington and the staff member Naresh initially took our orders. When I said that I was allergic to specific food ingredients, he patiently checked and gave me the list of all the items in the menu that were suitable for me. Sai from his team also attended us and she was very warm , welcoming and checked on us to know if we were happy with the food that was served and if we needed any further help. Naresh, Sai and the team were friendly ,customer centric and received us well. Many thanks to the team for their service to us and we will definitely visit ‘ Banana Tree’ - Islington branch again in the near future. Best Wishes, Madhavi

We've been greeted with a smile by the staff upon arrival, and they've been very attentive all throughout our stay. Like to give special thanks to Mesi, who was serving our table. She is very professional and friendly. The food was very tasty and filling, lots of variety. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cosy, with nice decoration. This was my third time dining here and will definitely coming back. One of my fav restaurant in London.

ALLERGY WARNING Banana tree have changed the ingredients of some of their existing dishes without telling customers. I had an allergic reaction as the Thai green curry now contains fish and shellfish. They should notify customers that the dish recipe has changed.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the day only got better thanks to the exceptional service provided by Mesi and Vamshi. Vamshi took great care of us, ensuring we were happy and well looked after throughout our visit. His professionalism and attention to detail made us feel truly special, and he served us with such class and grace that it elevated the entire dining experience. I'm more than happy to recommend Banana Tree to all my friends and family--it's a place worth visiting, and I will definitely be back soon. A special shoutout to our servers who absolutely deserves a raise for their outstanding service!

The food was beyond our expectations, so tasty - you must try the calamari, green curry and Bao bun! Sooo Yummy! Definitely recommend this place!

Vamshi, our waiter was seriously helpful and polite. A buzzy pre-theatre visit. We ate the "new" options which were delicious.

The food was great!!! However, our waiter was a bit pushy towards the end. We should leave a review at the end and mention the waiter's name - that's of course not a problem at first. But unfortunately he was constantly at our table and also looked at our cell phones and literally checked how we wrote the review - we found that a bit inappropriate. It should be noted that our waiter didn't really care about us. A very nice woman (we assume the manager) brought us to the table at the beginning and was super friendly and also came regularly to all the tables to check that everything was going well - unfortunately our waiter didn't do that and we didn't always order from him either . Overall, I recommend this local because the offers are great and the food is TOP!!! Points are only deducted for the pushy waiter.

If there were minus reviews I would give it. Firstly they took a long period of time to even take our order. We were not offered any water on arrival although other guests after us were. The mocktails were incredibly sweet and basically just glorified rubicon. The food was oily. Complete waste of money and time. Go to this restaurant instead: EDO Izakaya in Old Street. It is 10x better

Had a great Christmas dinner here with a large work party! The staff made it very easy to book and were happy to answer all of my questions. Everyone enjoyed the food and there were many options that accommodated for different diets. Special thanks to Karem for brilliant service. Would definitely recommend this place for a big group booking!

Great service, food is delicious but some issues, atmosphere Ok - bit noisy but tables were dirty. Java chicken was delicious but very dry. Egg fried rice quite bland. Portion is generous. Mekong prawns delicious but also very dry.

This is my first time at Banana tree (Isling) and served by Maria. She is such a sweetheart and provided amazing service. Always check on us with a smile. She should be recognised as she is a gem here. Here do not serve Pork so it’s good for us. The food is alright. The atmosphere is great, cozy and vibing. The toilet is very clean.

Visited this branch for lunch today and had absolutely amazing service and food - the Blackened Monk Noodles and the Chilli and Cashew Stir Fries were amazing. Vamshi was our waiter and he provided a fantastic service, with a great smile and answered our questions patiently.

Had an amazing meal at Banana Tree Islington. The food was delicious and presented really well. The cocktails were a nice surprise at 2 for 1 all day every day… WINNING! All in all a great experience and our waitress Zainab was very attentive. Would recommend 100%

Great place for a group dinner, 16 of us were able to easily book a few tables all together plus split the bill quite easily. Also very fast service, good vegan options, all meat is halal (convenient for my Muslim friends) and mocktails are 2-for-1

Love this place love the food they need to change the Vibe a bit. Have a wonderful lunchtime special finishes at 5 well worth the money food is always cooked well the only thing I don't like sometimes is when they bring your starter and your main at the same time that's happened to me twice and I don't really like it but all in all lovely food.

Situated not far from Angel underground station, Banana tree has a nice selection of Thai inspired dishes. Impressed with the prominence given to vegetables in the food, as well as the selection of vegetarian dishes. The wooden benches are a bit uncomfortable for longer than an hour sitting.

We had lovely Ahmed at the angel branch and he made us feel really welcome.

Vinimos al restaurante para una comida previa al teatro. Mi compañero llegó primero a los 18. 00 . Los cócteles que pidió para los dos llegaron unos 30 minutos después. Tuvimos que llamar al camarero para dar nuestra orden de comida a las 18. 40 . Pedimos un entrante y plato principal. Sin señales de ninguno de ellos para el 19. 10 , me acerqué al camarero y le pedí que cancelara el arranque y que preguntara por el plato principal. . finalmente llegó a las 19 . 18 . Apenas tuvimos tiempo de comer la mitad antes de tener que irnos. La única cosa que el personal hizo bien fue ofrecernos las bebidas en la casa . . tuvieron suerte de obtener nada de nosotros. Una debacle totalmente inaceptable. Este restaurante tiene muy poco personal.

Thank you Vamshi for a pleasant experience. The service made the experience great. The Thai green curry lacked flavor and vegan crackers were soggy. If it was not for Vamshi’s pleasant behaviour I would have walked out. The chef needs to really step up.

I enjoy coming here for lunch as they have a great lunch deal for £9.95 which includes a main and a drink (£4 extra for a side). This is incredible value for the portion size and the quality of the dishes. The pad Thai and spring rolls are delicious!
