£8.60 for a battered sausage, chips, gravy and a can of pop, way too expensive. The chips were disgusting and turned into mashed potato while eating them. What happened to "as cheap as chips"? I'll go elsewhere next time.

Was here today to help celebrate a friend's surprise 80th birthday party. The decor is amazing, the food delicious and staff so very friendly and efficient. What is great, is that the standard is consistant so I have no hesitation in recommending the venue to anyone - whether it's a casual stop by or for a celebration, Ball's will cater for your specific needs.

Stopped off for lunch with the family. Cod & chips with curry sauce was magic! Portion sizes were big, and the kids portion wasn't much smaller!! Decor and atmosphere were spot on. Would recommend a visit.

Went for 1st time and sorry it will be my last! I travelled from Hexham as no decent establishments here either. I had flsh and chips and my daughter had the fish cake and chips and both were 2/5. So now I have to travel to fenhan fish bar for my closest decent fish and chips

Spot of lunch at Balls. Always had take aways when visiting Mickley. Visited restuarant, we were party of 5 so were in back room and it was decorated lovely, food was delicious 😋 and staff very friendly. Would highly recommend. 5 *. We will be back thank you

I go here fairly often, food is great and the restaurant area is excellent. Only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is that some occasions the chips are half cooked. Other than that place is great, recommend it :D

We have just had the best meals here at Balls tonight to celebrate Mam Wills 80th birthday. This lovely warm ,welcoming and friendly family restaurant is the best by far in the North East. Everyone this is a must place to eat day and night.

Cod bites and chips are cooked fresh to order and you can choose as many as you like. The service is great staff are helpful. Not expensive neither. Highly recommended.

Me and my boyfriend went for lunch. It was really quiet so we got served straight away. I had fish cake with chips and my boyfriend had soup and a sani. Really great service just a little bit slow getting the bill.

No one makes Fish cakes like Balls. They are sooo tasty. When you try them you will realise no other fish cake can beat them.
