I love Bakhoos - we live locally and visit regularly and it’s hands down the best pain au chocolat I’ve ever eaten. Everything is delicious and it’s a must visit!

Bit of a hidden gem this, you could drive right past it and never spot it. First class pastries and coffee here. Could see the staff hand kneading the bread/pastry in the back. Fantastic. Space for a couple of cars to park in the nearby lay-by.

Popped in as I had some time to spare in between work visits and had heard good things. The raspberry brownie and focaccia were both amazing!!! Wish I lived closer, I'd be in all the time - genuinely the best brownie and bread I've ever had! Highly recommend. Lovely patient and welcoming staff. Highly recommend!!

This wee bakery does excellent bread and cakes, we loved going once or twice a week. Sad to say that we have stopped going due to long waits for people waiting for coffees. Standing outside, waiting patienly does become tedious and time wasting. It seems that they are forgetting what they do - bake amazing cakes and pastry. Also, so often I have gone in and found staff to be sullen and not particularly welcoming. So, sadly we, and others, have stopped going.

The most amazing pain au chocolat! No scrimping on the chocolate inside and lots of delicious, buttery layers of pastry. A lovely, little independent bakery with a Scandi feel. Will definitely visit again next time we’re on the Black Isle.

We were looking for a wee pastry to help with our picnic and wow we found the mother load, we had madeleines, lemony and lush, a pastry swirl with bacon and maple syrup, yes you heard correctly,🥴🤣 amazing salty sweet morsel, (meal in itself) then a blueberry compot sponge (almonds on top) delight. Thank you for making our holiday weekend that wee bit more Extra. 💕

This is our favourite bakery, ever! We look forward to visiting every time we are staying on the Black Isle, and wait patiently for Thursday to arrive each week... simply the best croissants, small bakes and sourdough. Thank you!

I actually live in close proximity to Bakhoos and have been several times but after my visit yesterday , I felt the need to post on here and warn others … once you have sampled the Cheesecake, that’s it!! Nothing else matters! I am a self confessed cheesecake addict and this was just other worldly, thee best cheesecake ever so be warned… it’s weight gain waiting to happen but when things taste that good.. who cares 🤷🏻♀️ Bakhoos it would be super nice if you opened longer and 7 days a week to meet my cheesecake needs 🙏😊

I have passed here a few times on way to a beach walk but made my first visit today. Was easy enough to park in the car park at the door. Lovely wee bakery with some amazing cakes and breads on offer, was so hard to chose! Got a flat white, my usual, literally never tasted a coffee this good. Was going to just get a cake, carrot cake, was to die for, but was tempted by a roll with smoked chicken and a lemon mayo. Out of this world, what an amazing combination. I think I’ll be making more beach trips if I can stop here every time!

A lovely bakery, we enjoyed some lunchtime rolls, focaccia bread and cakes from the Bak Hoos and were thoroughly impressed! We were also served by a friendly and helpful lady, who was patient as we were indecisive about what lovely cake to choose. A relaxed and inviting vibe :) Well worth a visit!

I've told many of my colleagues and many have visited and all agreed. I just don't understand how they get everything so right. Move over how's it's all over.Mmmmmmmmmm🥰

We had some really delicious cake and tea. I would definitely recommend the banana chocolate cake and the apple caramel cake. The service was really nice and I would definitely stop there again.

Lucky to find that dinner was available on one of the nights. The meal was excellent. Extremely well cooked, presented and served. Don't miss the opportunity to eat there if you can. Elaine is a great cook/chef.

Food was nice and service was, for the most part, friendly. One server seemed to be having a bad day. Brusque and barely civil. Very expensive for what was served.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.
