We drove 1.5 hours to find real oggies. We bought the giant beef and potato one which was amazing. It was so full with delicious stuffing and the pastry was perfect. I don't know how even though the filling was so heavy could that pastry will carry it without breaking. It was a very perfect throughout, flavour, texture and mixed. The price was fairly reasonable for such a large oggie and well worth it. We also tried the standard size lamb with mint and veggies, for some reason the pastry was different to the beef one, we prefer the pastry from the beef oggie but ingredients in the lamb oggie were quality, the lamb pieces, slightly fatty and extremely succulent and the veggies just absorbed the flavour. I truly recommend and would come again when we're back in North Wales.

Very disappointed! Thick hard pastry I could hardly chew containing a few tiny flakes of lamb, couldn't discern any flavour. Most of it went in the bin. I could have bought a sirloin steak for the price of this oggie so feel a bit robbed to be honest.

What is an Oggie? - best way to find out is to try one. Love this shop and always visit if in the area. Today I brought two HUGE, TASTY, FABULOUS OGGIE's to take home for tea. It was so hard not to eat them before getting Home.

its a great shop we love the oggie the beef ones are heaven ,and the double choclate bownies are so good nice staff and they do sell out so make sure you get yours they will heat them for you to and good choice x

Oh my goodness this shop is brilliant amazing staff and nice Quirky place to visit if you are in Llangollen nice market town.

We found the pasties from here a little disappointing. The filling was a bit sparse for the price and we found the pastry a bit thick and heavy. We did have them cold but even so, we would look elsewhere for lunch next time.

I had the large lamb oggie was incredible, the lamb was delicious and gravy was top notch. the pastry was incredible. On top of this I had some incredible and reasonably priced coffee. The apple and cider sausage roll was to die for! To top it all off the selection of craft ales and sprits will make me come back again. Just wish I could order this on Uber eats when I get back to Manchester.

Stopped here for a quick lunch and queried which pastries didn’t contain milk due to a dairy allergy. The member of staff didn’t know off the top of his head but he was fantastic and went out of his way to find out for all the products available so I could choose something. The food we had was delicious and really friendly staff too, can’t really ask for much more than that!

Bought a takeaway Honey Tiffin before my journey home and it was tasty I also asked if they could fill my empty water bottle and the young lady behind the counter was kind enough to do so. Staff were lovely and easy to talk to will definitely return.

We just needed a light bite, as we were dining in the evening. My wife ordered a straight forward sausage roll and I a Vegan Scotch "Egg". The vegan scotch egg was a take on a meat scotch egg, the egg was a vegan cheese similar to mozzarella for the white of the egg and the centre a mx of vegan yellow cheese. Genius, though the technically not vegan.

Very disappointed, food looked great and fresh in the window but if you want hot food everything goes in the microwave and then the pastry turns into something you would buy the dog to keep it happy for an hour. Wife couldn't eat hers as it was all dried up inside.

Not very nice. I am vegetarian so I had what was titled a cheese and onion pasty but it was flavourless unfortunately. My husband had the giant lamb oggy. We took them both home and warmed them up. No sign of any lamb in the oggy. We would not go there again.

Love shop with Wels local produce. You can find bites for vegetarian and vegan. Ask for gluten free. We had oggies -veggie with lentils, and my partner eith lamb.we both enjoyed them . Very tasty cakes on the go. No photos as we ate them.

Great little place, stopped by on Saturday and ordered a couple of ‘oggies’ and some rolls. Very tasty, staff helpful and heated the goods in a microwave. Good choice and good value. Wish we could have sampled more, maybe next time!

Really interesting flavours of sausage roll , the Oggies are amazing. It's a lovely little shop. They sell plenty of other baked goods , jams pickles and relishes , i even got some chocolate dinosaurs for my granddaughter.

Stopped off here to try the famous Oggies. Top quality but quite pricey at £3.50 for a standard pasty. Service was a bit slow. The walk across the river to see the rafters coming down the rapids made the visit to Llangollen worthwhile.

A great stop for cyclists needing a little sustanence on a good spin out. I opted for a Latte and their classic chicken curry slice and was not dissapointed. Nice Latte and perfect with the scran on offer.They also do a nice range of ice cream . Keep up the good work

I have bought salami, ham, hamburgers, sausages and beef fillet. All have been excellent. The cheese too. The nut cake is also recommendable. Also the other products were very good. During my next visit in Wales I will visit this shop again.

Elsewhere in North Wales they haven't invented vegetarianism yet - except a cheese pasty & maybe a cheese or egg sandwhich. Here they have a big range of quite expensive but high quality vegan and vegetarian pasties, pies and snacks. The meat options look fantastic too, like the giant Welsh lamb oggies (pasties) and are good value. There are good cakes, including a small dairy free selection, chocolates, deli produce, and a large range of Welsh bottled ales. Expensive but a wonderful selection of traditional styles of beer (bitter / ale) and modern craft ales from all over Wales and the English borders. Plus Welsh speciality spirits. Ice creams, and I think soft drinks. There are many nice cafes and restaurants and places to get takeaway food in and near Llangollen but I think I will come to this takeaway at least once on every visit.

Well this place never let's us down and we do 2 trips a yr and wouldn't be rite not calling here.The food is gorgeous and spoilt for choice but he didn't have my favourite sausage roll with bacon but the game one was just as good as was cider ones.The xl lamb oggie my other half loves and said just as nice as last time.Its must to visit.

These looked appetising in the window, so we took two home for dinner.Rock hard pastry, very little filling. The few pieces of steak were nice, no sign of shropshire blue cheese.Very poor.On a good note, they have a selection of craft beers, i took one home and it was very good.

Found this little gem of a shop whilst visiting Llangollen. Lovely selection of fresh pies, pasties and cakes. Absolutely love the Vegan choices....Curry pasty was to die for! Shop was clean and well presented and the guy was really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be popping in when we visit again :-)

Wonderful shop full of delicious pastry treats and cakes. Huge selection of craft beers, delicious coffee beans and speciality teas. But the selection of delicious oggies is a feast for the eyes and stomach. A must try is the haggis tattoos and neeps oggie......delicious!❤️

Called on a wet day in October and really enjoyed the lamb hoggie and hot tea as we sat by the swirling river. Good food and excellent service, what more could you want?

If you want a substantial meal for less than a fiver, get a Welsh oggy. It is big enough to feed two people or one hungry/greedy person! The shop is located in the centre of town and also serves a variety of other pies and savouries.

You can have hot or cold Oggies (pasties) - we had a large lamb and mint one between us. It was delicious, really tasty. There was a really good range of other savoury and sweet goodies as well, would happily go back.

Llangollen is a place packed full of colour, history and activities, and when you’re out in the fresh air walking the canal path, or careering down the river on an inflatable or enjoying a ride on the steam railway, and while you’re doing all this you’ll need hearty homemade snacks that you can carry along with you. From a simple sausage roll to a beef oggie which is enough to satisfy the biggest appetite.

The beef and veg pasty was ok, the traditional pork pie was ok but my lamb and mint/rosemary pie was utterly tasteless and had only 3 small pieces of meat and all potato. Very disappointed.

Came and bought welsh cakes and bara brith which was very good and lots of attractive foodstuffs to tempt the palate

My Mum recommended this place to me so had to try it. We got beef and veg oggies which you can ask for hot or cold. We ate ours hot. Very filling and tasty. They also have massive ones (to share I hope). Shop also sold cakes, fudge, rock, cheese, locally made bara brith, ice cream and much more. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area

Found this intriguing place while wandering around Llangollen - wonderful displays of deli items and these 'Oggie' - what are they ?. Could not resist trying one - delicious, high recommended as comfort food.

Brilliant pie shop, could not decide which was best so bought a number of different pies and a sausage roll all were excellent. As were the cakes we bought. They also had local cheese and honey.

We made a point of stopping here to buy some of the varied superb sausage rolls prior to going on a walk. The meat content is excellent and the not too thick pastry NOT the usual tasteless puff pastry. The choice is extensive with some containing caramelised onion, blue cheese and all sorts of other interesting things. They are not cheap but very good value. I am like a kid in a sweet shop when I go there!

When on the Main Street in LLangollen which is called Castle Street, and want to find food and drink.The Oggie shop with its vast selection of pies and drinks etc, and with a service with a smile always from the friendly staff is a must to carry on your journey into the town.

We popped in to check out gluten free options to have for a snack. The staff were very helpful and listed all the items that were gluten free. We are just getting used to this gluten free option and finding somewhere like this really helps. Would recommend wholeheartedly!

Called here after a lovely canal side walk down to the horseshoe falls lots of lovely food to choose from I decided on a potato and onion tart with mature cheddar served hot. It was hard to choose but I wasn’t disappointed, totally delicious!! Took away some bread pudding for a trip down memory lane for my mum and me as my Dad used to bake it and it was again delicious- I will definitely be back and would recommend a visit to everyone!

This the best shop in Llangollen and probably the best shop in North Wales. When I'm in North Wales, I go out of my way to visit Llangollen and visit this shop. The shop is full of lovely things and you could spend a lot of money here (I often do when visiting). Everything is just as it should be. The large Oggie's and the Millionaires shortbread are probably the best I have ever tasted. The owners are lovely too and should be very proud of this wonderful shop.

This is a lovely bakery / deli in Llangollen. Fab ladies and sausage rolls and real ales. Definitely pop in if you’re in the area.

Hubby and me were shopping in Llangollen on a recent Tuesday morning. This Deli is next to the Town Hall. We each wanted a savoury pasty/oggie to take home with us. We chose a lamb & mint one and a steak & veg one (standard size) which both cost £5.90 (contactless card payments accepted). The gent who served us was extremely helpful and friendly. We ate them later that day. The pastry was perfect and both fillings were chunky and tasty.....deli-cious!

Stopped to buy and ice cream and ended up buying lots more of the lovely food that they have in the window. Sausage Rolls and Steak and Kidney Pies. Service was lovely and prices were good.

great Oggies,had a welsh beef one ,excellent value ,very big (too big for one)filled with beef,onions&potatoes;,great hot with chips.

I can only base this review on the type of Oggie I had, which was chicken and vegetable. When I picked it up from the counter I was amazed at how heavy it was. This was due to large amounts of pastry. The edge was particularly thick and hard to chew. Inside were 3 large pieces of chicken, but no discernible vegetables, just a brown puree. It was however relatively tasty. If you are desperately hungry and looking for a real gut filler, then this is for you!!

The beef & veg & lamb & mint pasties were wonderful. Their pies & pasties are available in a variety of fillings, including vegetarian & vegan in large or small sizes. The meat is sourced locally & all products freshly made.

Very clean and efficient and an apology for keeping me waiting. I mint choc chip for herself and a rum and raisin for me. Nice and creamy. My wife discovered a bottle of porter which was drunk later after tea. Super shop.

This is a treat to walk into. You wont walk out without buying something. The most delicious pies (Oggies) and different to anything else you would normally find. To top that they have a fantastic extensive range of Welch and Shropshire ales to wash down your lovely Oggie. Also a good range of chutneys and preserves etc. Did I mention the pies ! This is a must visit shop.

We looked at the pastries through the window and thought yum yum, both the oggies we had were awful, THICK RAW PASTRY WITH HARDLY ANY FILLING... the coffee was very nice and the service, cashing in on tourists I would say, but we are local and it was expensive. A bit of a let down.

We visited for ice cream. A good choice of flavours and knowledge of ingredients for gluten free, even had gluten free cones! Delicious. Staff really friendly and helpful. Selection of gluten free alternatives to the fresh pasties and bakes. Good selection of ales and cheeses too. Thank you for all your help.

Love this little place. Whenever i pass through Llangollen i have to pop in here for my lunch treat. The pastries and bakes are gorgeous and reasonably priced. Lovely friendly staff. Recommended.

Went here today on the way home for an ice cream, staff were incredibly helpful when it came to gluten free options, making sure that nothing was contaminated too! Friendly, welcoming staff and great ice cream!

we always detour into Llangollen to visit Baileys to buy lunch as their pastries and cakes are really amazing (and reasonably priced). You are spoilt for choice in Lllangollen for great food shops and cafes, but theirs are the best. The rocky road is the best I have ever eaten.

We visited before our train journey and had the amazing sausage rolls.on our return we headed back for some Ice cream. I also picked up a block of the Snowdonia finer cheese which is pretty amazing. THe staff were really lovely.

Had a day trip to llangollen and visited here for a taske out lunch. Beef and blue cheese pasty servrd hot was the choice from a plethera of choices of tempting pasties. We sat outside to eat enjoying the very warm sunshine and enjoyed every bite. Will be visiting again soon iechyd da!

When we visit Llangollen we always visit the OGGY SHOP today we had chilli and garlic sausage rolls and the locally made lamb and mint oggy .. both very tasty and well worth a try !!

The welsh version of a pasty...but really rather special and very filling. On the busy and pretty high street, you cant miss this special little shop.

Oggies, for the ignorant foreigners ( like me) an oggie is like a giant pasty with a choice of fillings. We bought standard beef, potato and leek to take home the day we left. Reheated well and were still delicious. The shop sells cakes and an assortment of deli spices and condiments.

We love having a pie and/or cake from here when in Llangollen. The food is always good and delicious. They even do gluten free options which are beautiful. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly.

We popped in here during a long weekend break on the off chance they had a lunch option for a vegan family and were extremely spoilt for choice. They were very enthusiastic to tell me all the vegan options they now have available. They were great value and a delicious holiday treat. Can highly recommend this place to all vegans and vegetarians visiting the area. We even found an Italian cafe on Market Street just a few yards around the corner that has a vegan ice cream and dessert!

Called in while on holiday had lamb and mint oggie, beef and vegetable oggie, a sausage roll and a bubble gum ice-cream. Thought the lamb oggie was all thick pastry bit stodgy more crust than filling. Beef was a bit better but not amazing. Was a bit dissapointed.

I had never heard of an 'oggie' so just had to try one. You could either have it hot to eat there and then or cold to take home. We opted for a cold one and than there was a choice if flavours. I had the beef.

We had our first ever BATH BUNS which were really good served with strong coffee so we went back and tried their delicious Bakewell tarts which were even better. YUM.

Visited the shop on 14th Feb to get some lunch, £10 for 4 of us with a massive selection of Welch oggies, recommended for a lunch, thick gravy, sold hot or cold, wish we lived closer, the guys in the shop we both friendly and polite, if passing this place is a must.

After a 5 hour walk stumbled in here to the most amazing pies/pastries and oggies. Fresh, lovely pastry and stuffed full. Lovely staff in shop too.

Such a wide selection of pastries, cakes and more, all locally sourced and superb quality. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble even though they were clearly busy. Definitely one not to be missed!!
