Booked Back-a-yard cuisine for my partner's 40th and they were fantastic. The food was so good, and everyone commented on how delicious it was. Shereen was so helpful and accommodating. I feel I've been spoiled living in London, I visited Nottingham to help out my son who is at Uni. We came across what looked like an interesting Caribbean take away however, all I felt was disappointed. A medium curried Mutton, rice and peas was £11.00! The other two items (macaroni cheese and a patti) saw me handing over near on £20! I may have forgiven the cost if the meal was extraordinary but, it wasn't. Come on guy I want to support you, support me, no?

I had the curried mutton meal with rice and beans and plantain as well as the fruit punch. It was the best mutton I have ever had, it was just falling apart and the layers and layers of flavours were amazing as each bite I took I uncovered a new flavour. I would highly recommend Back A Yard Jamaican Cuisine if you are looking for some amazing Jamaican food.

Great food. Have lived in and around Forest Fields for a while and have eaten from all the local Jamaican take aways and Back-a-Yard is the best. Customer service is friendly and welcoming. Food is tasty and you can tell from flavours it has quality fresh ingredients.

Hired Shereen and her team for my children's christening for 100+ people, she was professional from start to finish, we ordered a variety of food, Curry mutton, Stewed Chicken, Chickpea curry and lots more. So delicious, so well presented, staff very friendly! I would definitely recommend and use again - food was amazing

I tried this takeaway for the first time today as I am of Jamaican heritage and am myself an excellent cook. Today I felt like something different and ordered 2 Jerk chicken meals, I ackee and saltfish meal, 1 stew chicken meal and four fried dumplings. I ordered through google and when it said that the food would be here within half an hour I thought to myself "no way". I have ordered from caribbean takeaways before and usually you have to wait ages. Well I am astounded. Not only did the food arrive on time, it was absolutely delicious and well worth the money. The dumplings really were light and fluffy. The jerk was hot but flavoursome as opposed to hot full stop! The ackee and saltfish reminded me of how my mum used to make it. The stew chicken was tasty. The lady who delivered my food was courteous. I didn't realise they had a card machine and paid cash on delivery. All in all a fabulous experience, which if I wasn't on a diet, I would be repeating more often. I am glad at last we have somewhere good, authentically Jamaican in Nottingham that delivers good food on time. Biggup to the owners and keep up the good work. I and my family will be back again soon.

We used shereen for a funeral, we catered for 60 people, was lots food, very big portions, I'm not that familiar with jamaican food but knew wot to order. Every1 said how lovely it was, my partners aunty who is jamaican shes 94, said how beautiful food was she said my kinda food. There was lots left over so people were taking it away in cartons too. Shereen and her family didn't rush any1 was all served with a smile. Would highly recommend back a yard ( shereen spurgeon) excellent food excellent service.

I had the Brown Stew Chicken with Rice and Peas on Saturday. It as delicious!! I was at the Hartley Arts and Crafts fair in Sherwood on Sat 19th where Back-a-Yard had a pop up stall. What a treat for my lunch! Hoping to see updates on facebook about where you are trading next time so I can plan to see you again. Big love :-)

The food was absolutely incredible! Full of so much flavour and the perfect level of spice. And the staff are so friendly. I would recommend to everyone even if you’ve never had Jamaican food this is a great way to introduce it to your palette.

Wow. What can I say. The chicken strips were by far the best I have ever had. And I’ve had a few. The curry beef and rice and peas was spot on. Filled a big whole and good sized portions. Now. I was told. Shereen sent you this….. It’s home made. It’s hot. chilli to accompany my chicken strips. OMG. This needs to hit the supermarket shelves. Was it hot. Yes. Very. But damn this sauce was by far the tastiest most satisfying chilli sauce I have ever had. I cannot exaggerate how good it was. Usually hot is too hot. No taste. But this was hot. Very hot. Yet perfectly textured and every bit his my tastebuds. Can’t wait for more. Thank you
