Aycliffe Chop Suey House in County Durham

Normally nice here but got really bad food poisoning

Got a honey chilli chicken and my dad got kung po which tasted nice and was well portioned but was rather dry and could've used more sauce.

Seem to be greedy with money lately

They don't seal the contains correctly and also missed part of the order. Came in today to complain and all they could say was they would pass it on. I can't believe I spent over £40 for food and half the curry gets wasted because of their error. Avoid and go elsewhere

Ordered 2 chicken curry 1 no veg 2 egg fried rice 2 prawn crackers 2 chips 1 sweet sour batered chicken ball 1 chow main soft noodles 10 min wait full bellies happy family

The food was good and glad they got pork sausages instead of hotdogs when I used to go there 10 years when I change addresses from the black eastes in Aycliffe!

Chips & sweet& sour sauce are great

The best chinese takeaway in the town! We had a range of different meals from here and have never been disappointed! The lady on the phone is always very friendly and nice! Highly recommend!

Food was warm at best and we only live 5 mins drive from shop. Chips tasted like they were warmed up and hard. Only 3 prawns in the Singapore chowmein and not much meat in any of the other dishes spent just short of £40 and what a waist of money

Easily the best Chinese in aycliffe. A lot of Chinese takeaways use those stupid plastic trays, these stick to the foil trays which is a plus for me. Food is always spot on

I collected egg fried rice and curry from Chop Suey House yesterday. The food was great and the service was fast, but the price and portion size were terrible. There was only one size option and the price was £4.40, at first i thought it would be decent sized but it was a tiny portion that didn’t fill me up. Overall, the food was tasty but the price i said wasn’t worth the amount i got. Thanks x

Hands down best chinese takeaway in Newton Aycliffe. Staff are always very polite. The food is always fantastic. i haven't had a long wait time, so I've always been pretty quick. Never had a problem. Highly recommend.

Hadn’t been to this takeaway for a long time so decided to give it a try. Went at 6pm so they’d got rid of yesterdays chips 😉 ordered special chow menu, special fried rice and a portion of chips. More than enough for 2 of us and could’ve fed another person as a lot was wasted. Everything was hot and tasty, chips still looked a bit dry (twice cooked 😬) but we thoroughly enjoyed it, loads of every meat and prawns. Would definitely go back

They don’t offer delivery like the other Chinese takeaways in the area, but this isn’t an issue for me personally :)

tried basic chips curry to taste the sauce before trying a meal absolutely the most expensive chips curry ever bought at a fiver they couldnt even get the chips right small portion dreadful

Can't remember the last time I had a Chinese, tonight I really fancied one. Looked at the reviews for this place so gave it a try. Well, I will say this, I'll definitely be going back. That was absolutely spot on. Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style and King Prawn Curry, rice and chips to share. Needless to say the pic says it all. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Decided to try this place as handy and need a good Chinese locally the reviews were amazing.I had Singapore chow mein chips and noodles.My wife and I both left most of the food.The chips were like cardboard as though they had been cooked a month ago.The noodles were salty and were soaked in grease all this for £16 horrendous.

Just ordered Singapore noodles and portion of noodles and chips,all inedible,salty and greasy all went in the bin,1 star for the curry sauce, ordered as soon as they opened at 5pm ,think chips were a week old, disgusting.

A very Chinese takeaway i had my first from here the other week and it was a spot on meal cooked to perfection with friendly staff thank you will be back

Great food, but would be better if they lowered the minimum spend to use contact less payment, in current conditions, increasing minimum spend to £20 seems stupid when many other shops are encouraging card only payment

The shredded crispy beef in Peking sauce is delicious. The sauce was just enough for 2 to share. The price can't be beaten. Great, friendly service.

This is, without a doubt, the nicest Chinese I've ever eaten. I'm not a massive fan of Chinese normally but everything I tried from here was great. This has become my new favourite takeaway.

Just had a couple of cracking meals from here, long time since I have used The Chop Suey House but will definitely visit again, excellent quality meals. Quick service as well. 👍

THE best Chinese in Aycliffe. Old school quality Chinese takeaway. Great menu, great food. It’s getting hard to find a good Chinese these days, look no further. Real flavours not the usual slop that passes for a Chinese these days. Highly recommended.

Ordered battered sweet & sour chicken with boiled rice , chicken tasted like it was 3 weeks old , and looked gray inside , and batter was like leather , not fully cooked , soggy inside & difficult to cut ,boiled rice was the only thing that tasted ok , ..................I wont be ordering from them again

We have been using this Chinese for many years, long before these people were in! The food used to be the best in Aycliffe , I'm afraid to say we used it for the last time tonight! Over the last year it has gone down hill! Bits of dry chips no soft ones! Pork sweet & Sour is just minced cheap pork instead of chunks of white pork covered in thick hard batter ! Lately we have had quite a few bad meals but not wasting any more money !!!
