We have been going to Ayam Zaman. Food is really good but unfortunately service is not. Noone will welcome you. We were there waited for almost an hour and the lady was highly unwelcoming and rude. So we eventually left as she was not accommodating neither was giving any waiting time. I wish waiters like her who don’t have basic manners should at least be trained to deal with people nicely. This is basic courtesy. Quite disappointed with the (non)service.

The mind takes this restaurant seriously. Wow, in all aspects of its nutritional system, the price of one luxury thing over another.

We just had lunch, the food was good. My son's shawarma was a bit warm and by halfway the meal it was cold and i had the mixed grill the taste was good but don't expect the portions to be as the photo on the menu it's much smaller hence giving only 4 stars.

The catering is a hit and miss with the quality, unfortunately. We’ve tried this restaurant time and again but it disappoints sometimes. You cannot guarantee the quality everytime. The real issue is that we’ve ordered catering on two separate occasions, whereby we specifically instructed them NOT to add nuts to the rice, as some people have fatal allergies. They agreed to our specific instructions and assured us that they’d accommodate accordingly. Come said day, and on both occasions, we found nuts in the rice. One of the occasions was for someone’s wedding, and the bride was allergic to nuts. This is extremely dangerous and completely irresponsible, as it could’ve ended badly. Very unhappy with the service provided.

Unfortunately, my experience at the Ramadan buffet was quite disappointing. The majority of managers displayed subtle unfriendliness, while the waiters, though better, appeared unhappy. The appetizers seemed to be leftovers; for instance, the salad and most of the dips had a noticeable odor of being at least two days old. The main dishes were ok, but nothing stood out taste-wise. Overall, the experience was lacking in many aspects. Genuine hospitality, where every guest feels welcome and respected, was notably absent. There were evident signs of poor management, reflected in the reuse of leftover food, not to mention the unhappiness of the waitstaff which might indicate they're poorly treated. In restaurants, there can be no substitute for high-quality standards in both food and hospitality, which were clearly lacking here. It's disappointing that this place relies solely on the lack of competition in London for Syrian and Arabic cuisine. What a pity.

We went for their weekend breakfast buffet and it was perfect! There’s a huge variety of food and the atmosphere is great and it’s all for £14 pp

Never knew how good Syrian food was until I ate here. Will definitely visit again and try out their official menu as they had an amazing Ramadan iftar buffet going on. Best buffet by far it's not even a contest anymore.

THE BUFFET IS A SCAM! Beware , the rudest staff I ever met, a £25pp buffet that actually is less than 15 value according to their own menu, you suppose to get more with buffet, food was cold, the presentation was horrible, the staff were unfriendly , definitely avoid and to get fooled by the instagram advert regarding the buffet ( what we fell for!)

We have being going since it opened, for longer than a decade. Always delicious food, top flavours, excellent service, clean place. It's certainly one of the most authentic nice food experiences you can get in London.

Burnt my £78 on the bill and will never come back again. Despite the reason I was unhappy on my last visit and gave them a second chance and this was my last time as I will never go back again. Portion was tiny service was extremely poor requested sauce 5 times and after repeated reminder waiter shouted from the far end saying waiting and by the time I received my sauce I finished my dinner The owner was less informative about the menue and said waiter knows more than hi and this shows you the interest he had providing service Extremely poor and this was the last time I had been and advised to stay away and don’t get fooled by the decoration

Overhyped, poor service, lack of staff engagement. This is a mass market restaurant some of the takeaways will be much better. There are plenty of alternatives around so think before you choose.

Lovely vegan and vegetarian food options! We came for the breakfast buffet today, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food selection was wide (tons of different breads pastries, falafel, cheeses, hummus, babaganoush, fruits, lentil soup, eggs, pickles and tea), super delicious and amazing value. We will be back! Sat and sun 10-12:30 is buffet hours

Food is not bad but most of them were salty and fatty,, and when I paid, me and my friend asked to split but she did nothing and waited us to calculate ourselves, and she charged 1 penny more and I just said "ah that's xx.xx" without even knowing, then she was sacarstic that "thanks for your just 1p tip, tip is not included" I felt so bad.

I’m sorry to say that we were rather disappointed with the food- we had some takeaways for a gathering with friends and the dishes were unpleasant and didn’t feel at all fresh and flavourful- most ended up thrown away- such a pity!

I ordered a Lamb tajine with couscous, and it was one of the best I've eaten in my life. The lamb was so tender, perfectly cooked, the sauce was amazing, the couscous incredible. Thank you.

Got the Lamb kabseh £15.95 and the Ayam zaman shawerma £16.95. Everything was nice except for the chips which were a bit dry.

I recently visited Ayam Zaman, and regrettably, the experience left much to be desired. A significant concern was the behavior of the manager, who was openly yelling at the staff. This not only created an uncomfortable atmosphere but also adversely affected the service. The impact was evident in how the food was served - in a disorganized and rushed manner. The food quality itself was disappointing. The dishes were served with the food being cold and the plates excessively hot, implying they might have been hastily reheated in a microwave. The ribs, in particular, were a letdown - they were thick and undercooked inside. Adding to the issues, there were sides that we ordered which were missing from our meal. It's with a heavy heart that I write this review, as I had high hopes for Ayam Zaman based on its reputation. My intention is to provide constructive feedback with the hope that the restaurant will address these concerns, ultimately improving both their service and food quality.

Terrible restaurant, ordered 4 main courses take away, the food was tasteless and of inferior quality. I’ve tried a few different restaurants near by providing similar cuisine this one was really rubbish in comparison.

Loved the food, service was fast and restaurant was clean.

Lunch time meal deal and the shawarma wrap was so salty and had too much garlic sauce. Nice kibbe but had to go back to buy sauce dips as they serve that without anything and forget to remind. The place always is nice and clean. Other times the food was better. I like swarma with vegetables and pickles too.

Hubby and I enjoyed our harria soup couscous wasn't bad 😋

I went here twice within the past few days. First time it was good, the starters were tasty and the chicken shawarma was good. Staff were fairly friendly so I enjoyed my experience here. However, my experience for the second time was not as good, when we sat down the guy that took our order was not as friendly, I don't want to elaborate further as they may just have been having a bad day, ill give the benefit of the doubt. The chicken taouk we ordered (chicken shawarma was out of stock) was overcooked and dry. I personally wouldn't make the trip to come here again as there is a similar restaurant closer to me in Acton which is better and cheaper.

The culinary odyssey, however, found redemption in the freshness and tastefulness of the Umm Ali, providing a sweet respite. Tea enthusiasts will rejoice, as Ayan Zaman excels in brewing excellence. Additionally, the lavatories, pristine and impeccable, reflect a commitment to hygiene—crucial criteria in my gastronomic evaluations, as clean toilets often signify an equally hygienic kitchen. In summary, Ayan Zaman stands as an intriguing culinary venture, earning a commendable 4 out of 5. While the ambiance and certain culinary aspects impressed, the steep price and the dryness in some dishes compel me to explore other gastronomic realms in future endeavors.

Kibbeh labanieh was delicious but the laban was lacking coriander, garlic and pine nuts. Bana ghanouj was really good and the fresh juices too.

This is definitely the BEST Syrian restaurant in town. The food is die for. We had kibbeh, fatteh, hummus, lamb grill. It was so delicious. The portions are huge and prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and kind. Karem was helping us and we were delighted to meet him. Honestly, I cannot recommend this place enough. A true gem!

Lamb biryani contained some of the best lamb I've ever had. Hummus shawarma, falafel, baba ganoush, and spinach pastries were also incredible. Service was impressively fast, too. What a feast! I will be back!

We went yesterday in a restaurant, we were four people we ask for more menu and they said it’s behind you. We ask waiter to bring food together but it was just opposite. He bring food one by one. We order nice salad but we found hair on that . We speak with the staff but they didn’t take any action. Same things happen with my desert I found 1 more hair. I recommend everyone don’t waste your time by going this restaurant. It was absolutely disgusting..

I usually go there with my family for a Sunday brunch. Loads of options available on the Sunday open buffet. You get to try different types of bread, cheese, olives, vegetables, fruits, hummus, Baba gannoush and fresh black tea with mint. That is also a selection of salami meat. You also order fresh orange juice and apple juice.

Another of the many visits we have made to Ayam Zaman and as always everything was delicious. This time we went for Ayam Zaman shawarma, kofta yoghurtie, falafel and cheese sambousek. The service was attentive as always. One of our favourite places in London

I ordered too much. Portions are good to generous. When I visit again, I'll order one dish at a time. Lentil soup was absolutely delicious. Enjoyed Ayam Zaman Kibbeh - lovely spice and pomegranates balances nicely.

Dropped in there late morning on a Saturday and had the buffet (which i think ends before the main lunch service). Great selection (even for us as vegetarians) and staff were all friendly. When I'm in a restaurant like this i always want to order a bit of everything so buffet is a good idea!

Food is great, it is always a busy place. It is recommended for family / friends but being crowded it will be a bit noisy.

The shop has a beautiful authentic interior. I genuinely loved the surroundings (ceiling, walls, decor). The staff are super productive. Eager to remove rubbish and keep service moving. Food service wasn't the fastest, but more importantly, the food was exquisite and tasty. The chicken shawarma however, wasnt the best. Their sister-business, Crispy Plus down the road makes better chicken shawarma I wish the shop was larger. I have tried to come here before, and it's always super busy and packed. I would love to come here again, when my pocket loosens up for some more restaurant bills.

If I could leave a review with less than 1star I would. My friend and I (two black women) have been wanting to try this place for some time so last night thought we would go. Biggest mistake ever, I cannot believe the service I received in 2022. We were ignored at the door and left waiting for service, 1 server nearly split something on me as he pushed past. After waiting for some time we didn't think it could get any worse until an older middle eastern couple came in and was spoken to right away, that was the last straw. We turned right around and left. It really put a dampen on our whole evening. For those thinking of going, I would say go where your money and custom are welcomed.

Swanky restaurant in an otherwise neighborhood and the food was EXCELLENT 👍 had the feel of a family restaurant, people friendly and greeting each other. The portions are large. Batata Harra is very good.

This is such a beautifully decorated Syrian/Lebanese restaurant. They have an affordable lunch menu for 11.99 including a drink which was a large portion. The service is friendly and welcoming. The ambience is chilled, spacious and a comforting place to eat your food especially around lunch. The shawarma, taouk or lamb cubes in a wrap is really delicious compared to many I’ve tried. Garlic sauce is one of my favourites alongside their hummus which is really creamy, you can tell they use good quality fresh ingredients. They also have a very affordable take away menu for 5.99. Cannot go wrong. Their knafeh dessert was one of the nicest I’ve tried thus far. Would definitely recommend. Finished my lunch with some baklava on the house. Always a good experience here. Thank you.
