Abu Zaad in Hammersmith and Fulham

Genuinely the worst meal I have had in years. It has been nearly 6 hours since I ate their terrible food, I have washed my hands at least 3 times and I can still smell the disgusting kebab shop smell on me. I am going to need a shower to get it off. All of our food came at completely random times across the course of 45 minutes. The falafel was terrible and the fattoush was just bits of lettuce and cucumber soaked in vinegar. The moutabel was average. The music playing on a loop sounded like I was trapped in a hell scape reserved for the worst of humanity. The only thing that could’ve made this meal worse would be if I got food poisoning. If I ever eat here again it is because I am being held against my will.

Abu Zaad has some of the best Arabian food I've had. I'm not sure what else to say but that you've got to try it. Their Chicken Kabsa and Chicken Mandi are just perfect. They do a great Kunafa, too.

No sabíamos nada sobre Abu Zaad, pero necesitábamos comer en la zona y vimos que tenía una calificación de higiene muy buena (5 estrellas). Tomamos la decisión correcta - el personal era amable y acogedor y la comida era absolutamente delicioso, recién hecho y presentado cuidadosamente. Compartimos un poco de mezze (moutabal, falafel, ensalada fattoush, hummus qawrma y halloumi, que venía con pan plano) y una parrilla mixta con arroz, que era la cantidad adecuada para tres personas hambrientas. Bebimos té marroquí (té verde mezclado con menta). Después de nuestra comida, nuestra encantadora camarera nos trajo un postre en la casa - un pudín de leche con jarabe de dátil (creo). En conjunto una visita muy agradable - sin duda volveremos.

What a horrible experience with the foods, it was so embarrassing because we invited family with us and turn out not tasty and that food wasn’t fresh made, it’s like 2/3 days foods that was been served . My cousin has to return her chicken mandi it’s smelling weird. Will never go there again ever 👎 . I don't like giving bad review specifically when it comes to small busines, unfortunately we came for(iftar) breaking fast. We booked a table for 6pm. When we arrived to confirm about our booking with female manager, she advised that she couldn't see our booking on the system when we clearly got email to prove it. It was disappointing that we had to wait around and come back after like 30 minutes. Had Fateh humus فتة الحمص today. I couldn't even eat it. It was obviously heated in microwave, the bread absorbed the tahini yogurt/yogurt; i didn't know what was there even; the bread is soggy, tasteless, dry absolutely was discussing الله يسامحنا

The food is good and the staff friendly but the worst is the serving plates I think they were PVC material with strange shape and the food kept falling off from the plate.

Location is the only good thing about this place. dismal customer service, you get more than one waiter coming to you - no system no smiles, no sense of welcome or appreciation! As for food, the chicken Mendie was old, plasticky and dark inside which clearly shows that it was in the fridge for sometime and that shows poor rotation the rice was awful and sticky ! The grape Leaves was Cold and had poor taste. Overall a very bad experience that will not be repeated. Shame as Location is central in Shepherd bushb There should be proper food rotation, uniformed professional staff and quality service with edible food. NEED TO IMPROVE considerably and NOW !

Amazing food, but the restaurant was so busy and noisy

The food was lovely. But it was how our situation was dealt with was poor. We booked a reservation, all details correct. We turned up and the shift manager was checking her reservation list and said there's no reservation and walked off. She then came back and checked again and I can see we're not on the list. So I showed my proof and confirmed this is the restaurant and "today's" date. She agreed that the confirmation details are correct. She then said there's no booking and walked off again! Im puzzled at why she kept walking off abruptly. Then we called her back and she said all bookings after 4pm have been cancelled. There is no booking and there's no spare tables. (There was but I assumed these were booked) I have had no notification via email or a phone call. She then walked off again! This statement of bookings cancelled after 4pm is nonsense, because she had a reservation list in her hand which was full of reservations. If all reservations were cancelled after 4pm then she wouldn't be looking at the sheet, it was 6pm. As a manager she couldn't manage this situation, she couldn't handle it, this is extremely poor The right thing to do would be to own up and apologise, then make a suggestion or come up with a solution, which she couldn't. It was actually another staff who kindly gave some dates and water (after my husband asked) so he could break his fast. Then suggested to come back in case of any cancellations. Which we did after 15/20mins only because the restaurants were full in the area. There was a table available when we came back. The food was lovely, it arrived quick. Shame about the management.

Abu Zaad in Shepherd’s Bush is hands down one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I’ve visited in London. We ordered the chicken mandi and a mixed grill platter, and both were absolutely spot-on. The mandi was tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced, served over fragrant rice. The platter was generous, with a great variety of meats – all well-marinated, grilled to perfection, and served piping hot. The staff here are active, friendly, and attentive, always ensuring that your experience is smooth and enjoyable. Service is quick without being rushed, and they’re happy to offer recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. One of the highlights of the evening was the Moroccan tea – served traditionally, with mint and just the right amount of sweetness. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Pricing is very reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality of food. You definitely get great value for money here. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Abu Zaad is a must-visit if you’re craving authentic Middle Eastern flavors. It’s a restaurant that delivers both in taste and experience – I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Delicious Syrian / Lebanese cuisine. A lot of meat dishes, but there are many many dishes for vegetarians and vegans. Most of the veggie dishes are mezze (staters), but if you order half a dozen, that should be enough for 2 people

Not only is Abu Zaad my local go to restaurant when we are looking for a delicious reasonably priced healthy meal (eat in or take away) but they kindly donated some delicious humous, falafel, pitta etc for a fundraising event for The Surge - the donations went to fund Palestine, Sudan and DRC charities. Please note that if you get a take away, you can bring in your own dishes to be filled. I highly recommend Abu Zaad. Lovely staff and wonderful atmosphere too.

My friend and I booked table for 2 for Iftar in Ramdan. No dates served and the dishes arrived late. I come here very often because I like the food and the Shakria but got very disappointed today. Also, not all dishes listed below.

We came here for brunch and we had a lot of options to choose and was delicious. We were served by an amazing friendly and professional staff named Hamza who recommended us to have a Moroccan tea after we ate. It was tasty! I would recommend this restaurant because of the amazing service we had .

We went to Abu Zaad before a gig on a weeknight. We had halloumi and baba ghanosh to start, both of which were delicious and then I had the lamp & aubergine main which was absolutely gorgeous- the lamb was so succulent and literally fell apart! My husband had the mixed grill. All of the portions were huge so we actually could only eat half our main courses! Would definitely go again.

Considering our meal started around 6, for an early dinner, the whole thing took so long we missed a little of the show we were meant to see at Bush Hall. I cannot possibly believe that the good reviews for this restaurant have been left by real customers. There is very little that I could praise about the restaurant. The only saving grace was the waitresses were apologetic, brought a dessert to share and knocked the rice off the menu. Here is a list of the disasters we encountered: - Struggled to get any service, even when getting the waitresses attention we were told they’d come back and wouldn’t - Squished in like sardines, it was like a competition to see how many tables we could fit in - Grilled halloumi was in fact fried, sorry dieters - Cheese pastries did not describe which cheese was in there - I asked and the waitress didn’t ask the chef, just guessed halloumi. Sadly it was feta which I can’t stand. - The description of the mixed grill is that it’s gluten free but is served on bread - Asked if we wanted bread to go with the meal, said yes and it never came. - Ordered the lamb fillet, then waited for ages and it never came and they got the order wrong. - Then told me it would be five minutes which is physically impossible unless you want food poisoning or are chucking it in the microwave. Spoilers alert, it was a lot more than 5 minutes and was lukewarm when it came. - Bizarrely, they brought rice in the meantime which of course went cold and wasn’t going to be eaten in the meantime. - They flapped and took my friend’s cutlery away once I finished my meal even though she hadn’t had hers yet due to the obscene wait. - All the meat was of poor quality, in particular, the kofta was an odd reddish colour and had lots of white gristly bits in - No food was hot. - Asking for the bill was another long wait. Feel especially sorry for those who had their valentines meal there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you hate them and want some kind of revenge.

We had such a wonderful experience. The food was very good. Not as spicy as we are used to but we got chilli sauce to add some more fire to the meal for us. There were 10 of us, 5 adults, and we couldn't finish the food. They also have a good variety of drinks.

Wow! Food is unreal. So much flavour. Be warned the portions are big….we ordered hummus and a chicken salad with two mains. Chicken tajine and a lamb kofte style kebab. The kebab came out with 4 large juicy skewers of seasoned minced lamb. The tajine had a large chicken leg with vegetables and a delicious broth with rice on the side. The hummus came with 4 or 5 pitas and we struggled to eat it all. The staff were super friendly and offered to box up the leftovers to take home but we decided not to. All that food and a couple of soft drinks was just over £50 for two people. Great value and soooo tasty.

I have done my first order at their restaurant with Uber eats. My dish was sold out and they tried to contact me through the phone 4 times to let me know about this issue. But I had a different number on the app when I managed to get in contact with them they changed my order to different dishes even if the price was higher. They have been very kind and flexible with me. Food came in quickly fresh hot and tasty definitely to try again.❤️

Having been one of my favourite places to eat in London for the last 10years. However, since new management have taken over ( in the past 3 years) the quality of furniture plates and general cleanness has gone down. We went for a meal the week before and it was excellent so we decided to return with a family member who was visiting from abroad. I'm afraid my vegetable moussaka was nothing like the delicious one I had on the previous week. The first week was good sized slices of aubergine, but on the second week it was basically chick peas in tomato sauce with barely any aubergine at all. I was very disappointed. I would recommend Abu Zaad to friends, but I wouldn't guarantee the same quality of food every time, which makes me very sad because the staff and the service are great..

Como sirio que sabe lo deliciosa y sabrosa que es la comida siria y es reconocido en el mundo este restaurante para decirlo sin rodeos tenía cero representación del patrimonio y la cultura que se supone que representa. Puedo mirar más allá del aspecto del restaurante que es básico, pero la comida era terrible. Sin sabor, el tahini se añade a todo en cantidades extremas. La carne, la esencia de la comida siria, era insípida y seca. Han tratado de ser todo para todos los hombres lanzando comida marroquí que no tiene nada que ver con la comida siria. El restaurante está destinado a ser propiedad de un sirio y que representa la comida siria para ser honesto, debería avergonzarse de sí mismo sirviendo comida de mala calidad como esa y, además, haciéndolo pasar por sirio. Sugiero que vuelva a visitar sus raíces si de hecho es sirio y empiece de nuevo. También a todos los bloggers de comida que han creado videos allí solo porque te pagan o te dan una comida gratis tu trabajo es decirle la verdad al público mientras toman tus opiniones a bordo. ¡Lamentablemente este restaurante es una noticia falsa!

Sadly this is no representation of Syrian food. Syrian food is renowned for being flavoursome and absolutely delicious! This place should be ashamed of itself for calling itself Syrian! One can look past the actual place if the food made up for it. Mixing Moroccan food with Syrian food on a menu where there is absolutely no correlation. The owner who is supposed to be Syrian should be ashamed to represent our food in this horrendous way. Bland tasteless food! I suggest you name the restaurant something else but please stop misrepresenting Syrian food in as what you are serving is in no way Syrian which is some of the most delicious food in the world!!

The wife and I love going to this place, and we always go for the same meal. We even took the family on Eid days and the New Years Eve.

Well after hype I decided to give it a shot and here is my honest review. Place call itself fine dining and their is really nothing fine infact below mediocre, food is really really bad no flavour at all whatsoever we ordered different dishes to make sure we test more, so mandi rice was like basic fried rice and not authentic at all. Nothing authentic it’s just blank and no taste at all! Like zero star for food. Let’s go to service now, coincidentally to add to my huge disappointment our mix grilled platter went to table next to us and it sat their in front of the guy for 7-8 min before they could even come and take it back and guess what they didn’t have the audacity to take it back and reheat it atleast just walked away with it for halfway to kitchen and got the same cold plate to us! What a shame. Please avoid if you are really looking authentic Syrian, Lebanese or Arabian food! The rice tasted like if you add salt and chili and fry it pathetic

Been to Abu Zaad after a long time. Still the same. Good food. Good price. Just that it's a Syrian restaurant and I couldn't find much of the Syrian cuisines here. The menu is a generic Arabic restaurant menu which you can easily find on Edgware too

We reversed for 5 people at Abu Zaad on a Sunday afternoon, we went for half lamb Mundi with rice and sides, the star of the show is Slow cooked Lamb roast, absolutely delicious so tender, juicy and succulent, seasoned to perfection, you don’t need knife the meat just falls of the bone. But half lamb for 5 is too much, the sided are amazing as well, hummus, aubergine tahini, fresh salad, chicken spring rolls and cheese spring rolls. I highly recommend Abu Zaad 🙏🏽

The food is really good you should definitely get the couscous

Highly recommend Abuzaad shepherd bush The food was so delicious my first ever Syrian restaurant and I have become a big fan of all the dishes I tried service was 10/10 ambiance was outclass there fresh juices and smoothies were so nice I would definitely love to visit them again and again Guys go and give it a try u will love the food I mentioned below what I eaten and also shared some beautiful pics from that evening Thank so much again Abuzaad

It wasn’t particularly tasty but it was cous cous and there’s nowhere in london that serves a good cous cous sadly.

Best middle eastern food I have ever tried. All the foods we ordered are all 10/10. We ordered falafal, fatet houmous and chicken shawarma with rice and yes very special mango juice.

Ordered lamb tajine with rice and a chicken wrap. Food was delicious. However the whole experience was let down by the cheap melamine serving dishes that its served in.

Ordered food with my family today and sat here for 25 minutes and nothing came out. As we walked out the bottle of water came and still no foods. Asked the man what happened and didn’t answer. So walked out so lost out of a big order.
