Last time I said this new restaurant was finding its feet. Well now it's stumbled and fallen, probably a victim of covid, but I'm not sure the avocado-heavy menu was ever going to work. Sad to see the business fail though.

We are not vegan or vegetarian but try to avoid meat products from time to time so thought this would be a good breakfast option whilst staying in the area for a couple of days. Looked really nice from outside but decided to eat inside by an open window out of the lovely sunshine. It was at this point that we realised that the staff we were not wearing face coverings. although customers - rightly - were required to. We are not paranoid about this but did feel a bit uncomfortable so decided to leave. When it was politely pointed out to - we think - the manager/owner as we left, the response was something like "No, I know" and he was clearly not bothered. Really disappointing and what a dismissive attitude.

Avocado was hard. Portion of mushroom on toast was small. We were charged service charge even though we were not happy with food.

Worked here in May 2021 and found large quantities of food months out of date mixed with produce being served to the public food was dated as far back as 22nd February 2021 I had to take photos as this puts the public health at risk and also the owner Peter Morris and his wife Jayashree will be prosecuted for offences relating to the modern slavery act because they refuse to pay staff which means people can't feed their children. Add the staff who work in the kitchen smoking weed and you can see why some reviews are negative. Mark Anthony Ward @ Harmony & Riley Potential Realised.

Me and my partner always used to eat at Avocado Garden but my god what has changed? We went a few weeks ago and the service was awful, the girls serving us were miserable and unhelpful but nevertheless we put it down to being a bad day! We went for breakfast this morning and I had to hold in my rage. I asked for an omelette with avocado on the side, it came out with avocado inside and when I said I asked for it separately the girl said “oh, right”. No help or apology. She genuinely made me feel like it was my fault. Working in the hospitality industry I would of not hired her in the first place, she pulled a face at me like it was my own fault! As a customer I shouldn’t be made to feel like that. I don’t want to come off like an snob but I have given this place many chances and now it deserves a bad review. They gave me normal bread last year instead of gluten free (I’m celiac) I messaged them on Instagram about how upset I was and I never got a reply. Pure disrespect. I thought the owner here seemed genuine but the atmosphere since bad turned hostile, staff do the least possible and are rude to your face. I didn’t even get offered salt, pepper, sauces, sugar etc. I would personally avoid this place even though I have and will always support local business’s. The girl who served me today needs to pull her head out of her behind. Be happy you have a job and be more attentive to customer needs- paying £50.00 for breakfast and being made to feel like I’m a fussy snob has utterly pissed me off.

Food was stunning, especially for vegan. Was on the expensive side but that’s to be expected! However, service was so slow for just a couple simple dishes. The vegan toast hit the spot!!

I went there with a friend for a coffee on Sunday. It's in a lovely location near the park with a selection of cakes placed outside the coffee shop. Unfortunately, the man who was placed on 'surveillance' of the cakes appeared bored and with a judgemental eye. He was there sitting and steering at every passerby, not quite sure why. Smiling was not part of his job. We went inside to order the coffee and there was more of the same; 2 ladies with no smiles, quite dismissive, asking what customers wanted. It was not even busy so I'm not clear what their grudge was. There was no designated area to wait for your coffee so people were just standing around the coffee shop, in various points, and the ladies didn't bother to clarify. Communication was not their strongest skill. My friend asked for the toilet, one of the ladies said that it was out of service for the customers. Very helpful, as expected. We waited for the coffee and then left. The coffee was ok. What a shame, being a private establishment in this difficult Covid-19 period you would expect them to be welcoming and friendly to customers but I guess they are not bothered. We went to Costa across the road a few days earlier, all staff were so nice and friendly. I will go back to Costa next time and will avoid this 'Avocado' place.

have these people not heard that they are in Tier 4, which means takeaway only... that does NOT mean that they can set up stall outside and serve mulled wine for people to then consume on their outside tables! i was only trying to walk past and had to jostle past their customers all jollying outside with their hot drinks, spread over three of four tables... when every other establishment in Blackheath is following the rules of NO outside tables. take them in or dis enable them for sitting at.

Delicious food, generous portions, good service. No social distancing measures whatsoever. My chair was touching the persons behind me and the people sat adjacent to us where nowhere near a metre away from us. We were virtually at the same table. Also no one showed us where to complete the track and trace.

This is a little gem of a restaurant tucked away in a corner of south east London near Hither Green station. The food is reasonably priced - and delicious - and the service impeccable. The ambience is just right. We were served by both a young man, who was polite and attentive, and Mimmo, who seemed to be both friendly maitre d' and chef,. Mimmo proudly told us about the high quality ingredients the restaurant uses, and the way the kitchen employs a traditional Neapolitan, slow fermentation process for their pizza dough. This means they can use less yeast (potentially making the pizza easier to digest). In any case, the pizzas and pasta and salads all went down a treat. He also joked with us about how his daughter, a pâtissière, insists he make all the choux pastry for the desserts from scratch, even though it means it coming in two hours early. (Our table duly wolfed down the chocolate desserts, which were pronounced wonderful.) He also offered tips on pasta and on the best flours for making pizza to a keen cook among us and was generally helpful and informative without being pushy. We all left saying we want to go back soon.
