Well can’t comment about the food this time around phoned and booked a table for six thirty turned up at about twenty past six met by a young girl who was polishing glasses gave my name and was told she hadn’t finished setting up to which I could see all tables were set and there was a table of four already seated and drinking wine to be turned away and asked to wait out side to my disappointment this was so rude and disrespectful I went to my car but we then could not have eaten there please train your staff to be respectful very sad customer

Good selection of food on the menu. We really enjoyed our dinner. There's a good atmosphere and staff are helpful without annoying you every 5 mins. Would love to return if we're in the area and would definitely recommend but remember you would probably need to book as it is very popular.

We unexpectedly found ourselves here having gatecrashed our friends evening out! The restaurant looks very nice, incredibly clean and the décor looks good with local art dotted around. The food was excellent as was the service. The menu mainly consisted of fish dishes which were all lovely. My only observation would be that the menu would appear limited for vegetarians.

I had the Diced Featherblade Beef and I can confidently say it was the nicest meal I ever remember eating. The staff were lovely and helpful, and my family all said their meals were amazing too.

Seafood tempura was really nice, beef medallions in pepper sauce was definitely worth the supplement. Both of ours were cooked to how we individually liked it. Been a while to have a pepper sauce that tasted that good. Staff were really pleasant and the decor was fresh and light. Set price menu is worth the money in our opinion.

My husband had seafood in tempura batter with a mayo dip and I had prawns in garlic butter to start. My husband had fillet beef medallions in pepper sauce and I had sirloin steak with a red wine jus as main course. We both thoroughly enjoyed the well cooked food - if we lived close it would be a favourite restaurant. If you are in Girvan for a holiday then absolutely recommend this restaurant but you need to book as it is understandably very popular.

Had an excellent dinner here. Lovely surroundings. Polite staff and beautifully presented food. Very Covid aware and adhered to. Would highly recommend but be sure to book as it's very popular, especially at weeknds. Would defnitely recommend.

Staying nearby for the weekend we checked out places to eat and decided to try Austins. Glad we did. Excellent food and service. COVID test and trace procedures in place and adhered to. Opted for smoked haddock au gratin for starters- delicious. Main of blackened Cajun chicken and with a curry sauce was very flavoursome and tasty. Tiramisu to finish was light and yummy. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

We booked for a family celebration and had a fabulous night. The food is fresh and delicious and cooked to perfection. Staff are friendly and very efficient. Wine list is varied and reasonable. Fantastic find in Girvan. An excellent restaurant down by the harbour. Very modern interior. Superb service by very attentive staff . Wide ranging menu with an excellent well-priced wine list. Particularly recommend the fish courses - the Salmon Piri Piri was really good. Also the Haddock au gratin was first class. Food very well presented. If we are ever back in the area, this restaurant will be a must!

Booking is necessary if you want a table at Austins for a Saturday night.The restaurant is very clean and modern, staff are very pleasant ,helpful , and efficient.The food was first class and the set dinner menu for 2 or 3 courses had a good selection of dishes that should suit most tastes.We had 3 courses and couldn’t fault any of the dishes.Would definitely return again.

I have been to Austin's restaurant in Girvan many times. I always enjoyed the ambiance and food. Food is always so tasty, fresh, good portions. Affordable prices. Coffee is ☕ best in town. Staff are very friendly and helpful. İmmaculately clean.

Had an excellent meal here last week. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu was fairly small but adequate. The food really was superb. The seafood starter was very good indeed as was the main course sirloin steak.

We have been a few times and always been great but tonight was different class. We started off with making a mistake and sat outwith our couples and the staff politely asked us to sit next to household members because of covid which I appreciated. They also told us about the other covid rules they had brought in at toilets and in restaurant. I've ate in many top restaurants in Glasgow since lockdown has ended and not felt as safe as in here. Very well done. Onto the food. They offered garlic prawns on specials. Wow is all I can say. So simple but so bloody good. You must get these if you go. For main I had a rare fillet steak which was as good as any steak I've had in top steak houses in Glasgow. Pudding was sticky toffee pudding and ice cream that was lovely. We washed it down with a tasty bottle of Malbec.The girls serving were young but you would never know as there service they gave was tremendous and deserve every tip they get and are a credit to the restaurant. I'll be back again soon. Thank you for a 5 star experience.

Best garlic prawns ever, great food and wines, good service

We’ve made a number of visit for an raving meal. The food is good. Luckily for us they are doing takeaway meals at present.

Went there on the way home as we had a recommendation. Well what can we say - first impressions absolutely sparkling, simple but v.good decor plenty of room very light and airy. Menu sensible size (amount of dishes) with a good choice I could have chosen at least 3 mains.Food great service great price reasonable good selection of wines.Price very fair.

First break in 15 years without daughters. Girvan was the obvious choice...(?)Booked Austin’s for Sunday night dinner. Wee harbour side eatery...First good sign, lovely white linen tablecloths with black linen napkins, all beautifully set...Then the food. What can I say? Perfect tempura, batter like filo pastry, soft creamy seafood, piping hot. Steak burger with creamy sauce & langoustines. No bun (complete waste of space, a bun, IMHO). It’s been a long time since I had a burger this good. Perfectly cooked, slightly rare, creamy and tender. Delicious. Wife’s haddock tempura equally good, as were crisp chips & nice veg. All piping hot. Chocolate pudding...mmmmmLovely friendly staff, lovely clean restaurant. Can’t praise highly enough. Fantastic job, Austins!

Went for a family meal, we all had steak, I had the medallions (£5 supplement). When I told the waitress that our steak were very chewy, she thanked me for telling her and said she would tell the chef. That’s it? Have had it before and it was very nice then, but awful now.

Found this nice restaurant while staying in the area over the new year, and what a great find. The menu was not overloaded with all different dishes, but at the same time plenty of choices they do set prices for 2/3 courses, also have some daily specials which can used as part of the set menus. Food was very nice, service was excellent. The restaurant is not very big, but we felt comfortable and had enough room without being too close to the next table. Would definitely pay another visit again if in the area.

This restaurant was the best we have had in a while everything from the staff very friendly and polite couldn’t have been more helpful with choices the food was fantastic complements to the chef reasonably priced and very clean and tidy young girl in staff even taking time to make sure the tablecloth was straight and the over hang on all sides was the same well done to the whole team highly recommend it

Visited for a family lunch, four adults and two children. As usual we had a superb lunch, delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff...what's not to like? Smoked Haddock Gratin, Piri Piri Salmon, Featherblade of Beef, Swiss Cheese Chicken, Haddock & Chips (child portion) all delightful. Could not recommend Austin's enough. It's great to have a quality restaurant like this in Girvan, well done to Kevin and all the staff.

Whenever I’m in the area I look forward to a meal at Austin’s. Amazing food and service is guaranteed.I have been a fan of this chef since his spell at the Wildings (down the coast) and I'm delighted that the same attention to detail and flavour has stayed with him.I always go for whatever starter has the smoked haddock in - on this occasion it was an excellent gratin. You can tell that this is fish is not chemically smoked as it's subtle and flavoursome. The sauce beautifully creamy and salty.For the main I went with a superb surloin with cafe de Paris butter and red wine just. Amazing complexity of flavours and a great piece of meat.At £22.45 for two courses I would peg this as a treat night out meal and I would love to have the chance to share this with my wife but it's always a work visit for me. I had a couple of cheap eat nights and then pushed the boat out - I deserved the treat and can't wait for another opportunity to visit. Thanks again to all at Austins.

Had a great meal in here the other night with family and everyone agreed they loved their food, the service was really quite poor. Not all of the drinks order arrived and had to be asked for again and still ended with one missing and had to ask for it for a third time.Also ordered a dessert and coffee, the coffee never came. Decided not to remind to see the outcome, still no coffee. We paid and left a tip, more for the food, not the service!I don’t expect to go for a meal and have to repeat myself to get drinks, we were paying for them!

We went for dinner on a Friday evening and both the food and the service were excellent. I had the tempura prawns, haddock & scallops for starter followed by rare sirloin steak and all of it was cooked to absolute perfection. The profiteroles special for pudding was also delicious. At under £27 for 3 courses we found the price very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere of the little restaurant was lovely. We took it as a very good sign that most of the other customers seemed to be locals, and the free parking available very close by in the harbour car park made getting there really easy. Would certainly recommend this restaurant to others.

Went for Sunday lunch wiv folks + pleasantly surprised by everything. Food, wine list, service + value all good so will go again... nice drive down the coast + usually something going on in Girvan at w/ends.

Four of us dined midweek, the place seems to be ticking over nicely business wise. Starters of cream of broccoli soup couldn’t be faulted. Separate mains of chicken, sirloin, salmon piripiri and fillet of hake all cooked to our requirements. The wine list , well we had a red and a white , can’t remember the names but the Austrian white was beautiful. Cheesecake dessert was fine too. Not a weak spot on the menu as far as we were concerned. Service was good. Solicitous but not overly so. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

This restaurant is a must visit when in Girvan. We visited for the second time on a busy Saturday night and the place was buzzing.

Went in solo one evening for dinner during a business trip. Service was lovely, food was lovely, too. Slightly on the pricey side with no different price options and also no visible vegetarian options on the menu. Overall, a great meal though!

Overall a nice restaurant, our party consisted of 4 adults and 2 children, nice atmosphere, all starters were good value for money. All main courses arrived covered in sauce/jus/butter, although the sauces were nice, I'd prefer to have it on a side plate/dish and use what I wanted. Despite this, all good value for money

We’ve eaten here a few times before and previous visits were fine but, on a recent Sunday we were disappointed. Service was a bit haphazard as it was a busy day; every table was full and customers without a reservation were turned away. However, the main issue was the size of the mains portion. We saw a large battered fish portion and the next table and ordered the same. The other customer had a fish that didn’t fit on the plate. When our fish came, it was minuscule. It might have passed as a starter but, barely. It was delicious and well prepared but, too small for a main. If they were running out of fish on a busy day, it would be better to say so and give us a choice of something else. As it was, we left hungry and probably won’t be back. It is far to expensive to pay for a meal the is so small that you leave still feeling hungry.

First tried this restaurant with family on 25/04/2019 and we were so impressed we went back again tonight! The menu has something for everyone, the meals are delicious, freshly prepared and value for money. The service is first rate, the girls are efficient and very attentive but not in your face. I would recommend anyone looking for great food and service to give this restaurant a try, you won’t be disappointed!

We arrived on a busy Saturday evening and all the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The food was all fresh and cooked to perfection, it wasn't in your face piled up plate food. it was fresh well cooked and properly portioned food.

Food was nice enough but there was no ambiance. The Decor was a bit reserved rather plain and the building was cold considering it was December you would have expected a warmer welcome.

We spent my birthday having an evening meal here. I was so glad we found this place! Such a nice venue for something special and good value. All cooked to order. Staff very attentive.

We had an excellent experience at Austins on Saturday evening. It was a family celebration and the staff set up a table for eleven of us without any fuss. The service throughout was first class with nothing too much trouble, all dinners came at same time and the food was top class. All plates were empty and everyone agreed it really was a brilliant evening. Service, food, location and staff were all first class.

Went for lunch, and really enjoyed it. Was very quiet and the atmosphere was a bit stinted, but the food was superb. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I was surprised that it was not busier as it is in a lovely setting and good value. Although the staff did say it was fully booked for evening meals, perhaps more people should take advantage of the afternoon setting.
