I told my wife that I wanted to spice up our love life. But I think she got the memo wrong and instead took me to black rooster. Ordered me a spicy quesadilla and since then I can say my life has been spiced up to the point I’ve spent more time on the toilet than anywhere els. The meal left an explosive memory that I’m still experiencing one day later. 10/10 would recommend

This is the 4th time I have came in the last 2 months and there’s either no chicken left or other items out the menu, one time we came at 8:20pm and we got told we couldn’t be served as they were closing soon (shuts at 10pm). We have came to this chain in Ayr for years and it’s totally going down hill not to mention we travel 30mins each time to get here, won’t be back to the Ayr chain

Absolutely dreadful service, waited 40mins for food and when it came it was f***ing freezing. Half cooked chips, mozzarella sticks barely defrosted. Youd think with the 40 mins they took to prepare it the food would be spot on, top quality even. But naw, still got my order wrong giving me the wrong spice. Chicken in the panini was extremely stale it was like chewing cardboard. Had a few bad experiences with this restaurant but oh my this was the worst yet. They offered me freebies due to the wait, but the freebies they claimed they would give me turned out to be the 2 half frozen mozzarella sticks mentioned previously. Dont think ive ever waited this long for food before in any food place and i definitely wont be back. Absolute joke, dont waste your time people

Let’s start by saying that I love peri peri chicken and I’m a great fan of another franchise. When I heard that this restaurant was opening I was excited as we lack anything like it in Ayrshire. That sadly is where the excitement ended. We decided to visit for dinner and were greated by a waitress with a smile and a good attitude. The restaurant has a mixture of booths and normal table and chairs. We where presented with menus and asked to order at the counter. The lady who took our order couldn’t muster a smile and kept interrupting only able to ask questions rather than listening to a request. Nevertheless, our order was placed and our drinks prepared. Note, it’s Pepsi on tap so no Coca Cola and no Irn Bru (a staple in Scotland). Nearly 30 minutes later our food was delivered: 2 orders of sweetcorn, 1 spicy rice, 1 chicken breast l, mango and lime, 1 double burger, extra hot and a portion of peri peri sweet potato fries. Let’s pick it apart: Corn. Hot on the outside, cold in the middle, maybe from frozen? Spicy rice: large portion in a tub but could do with some spice and some cutlery to eat. Mango and Lime Chicken: Urghhhh, despite liking this flavour combination from another Peri Peri restaurant when the offered it, that was revolting, tasted like cheesy feet. Burger: Actually quite good, decent portion and decent flavour. Sweet Potato Peri Peri fries. Probably tasted ok when they were cooked, hard to tell as they arrived cremated. Presentation: food arrives on paper or wrapped in paper rather than on plates. Cheap flimsy plastic cutlery (aren’t we supposed to be using biodegradable materials for this? Sadly, a disappointment, we won’t be back anytime soon.

The Munchy Box arrives in a pizza box so big, I mistook it for a flat-pack IKEA table. It’s a glorious mess of Scottish takeaway staples with an Indian twist: a sea of chicken tikka masala that could drown a Viking, lamb korma spicy enough to make you see bagpipes, a pile of chips that could star in a landslide documentary, and naan breads large enough to use as a windsurf. There’s also pakoras the size of golf balls, onion bhajis that could roll down Ayr High Street, and a token salad I’m convinced was just grass from Burns Statue Square. Wikipedia says munchy boxes are for sharing, but I took it as a personal challenge—and I’m still in recovery.

From when we entered the Restaurant, receiving a warm & friendly welcome to when we left, we had a great evening. Our meals were delicious and enjoyed everything. We had the Chef's Pate + Grenadine Pear with Prawns, followed by the Cajun coated Salmon in a curry sauce + Medallions of Beef in a peppercorn sauce. All perfectly cooked. All of the Staff were fantastic and made the evening 👏👏👏👏
