Just ordered half a crispy duck in hoisin sauce & Crab sweet corn soup. The duck was delicious, cooked to perfection & very tasty as was the Hoosin sauce, sweet, sticky & very flavoursome. Just let down by the crab sweet corn soup which was made with crab sticks, which isn’t crab, so felt a little cheated by that!! 😔 As the quality of the food is normally good.

This place is excellent for dinner. We were delighted with this restaurant find. Authentic home made fresh Asian, Thai and Chinese food. Super friendly and helpful staff. Large tasty portions and very reasonably priced. We can’t recommend this restaurant enough! You won’t be disappointed.

This Chinese Restaurant was recommended by the hotel I was staying at. It wasn't a great experience. Admittedly, on a chilly Wednesday night in April the restaurant was busy, and there were just two waitresses serving a significant number of tables, but this did mean there were long periods between courses. The food, when it eventually arrived, looked wonderful - but was largely bland & tasteless. The chicken & sweetcorn soup was the best of the evening - the ribs which followed were stringy, and main course of chicken in lemon and garlic sauce was again totally tasteless. The atmosphere in this busy restaurant was good, and the Chinese music pleasant, but the number of guests just looking at their phones, waiting for their meals, was indicative that something is very wrong with this restaurant. Ultimately, I would not choose Ateyate Chinese again, and therefore cannot recommend it to you.

Been here several times for a takeaway. Majority of the time the food is lukewarm but very expensive. Tonight they told us over the phone the food would be ready in 25-30 minutes. Got there after 30 minutes they said they hadn’t started it yet and that it would be 15 minutes. Waited in the car and when I came back in asked if there was a discount (by this time it was 70 minutes from when I rang, young cocky lad LIED and said he’d told me 45-60 minutes, obviously he didn’t. I would have gone elsewhere if I’d known it was going to be that long. Very poor service, overpriced and lukewarm food, won’t be going again.

The room was very cold. The food was nice but they brought the dim sum out with the soup so it had to sit there while we ate the soup. The main meal we had to put on slightly warm plates which made it go cold very quickly and for £26 it wasn't value for money.

Visited early on a Saturday. First impressions, the restaurant has been nicely refurbished with jazz type music playing in the background. Service was pleasant by two young waitresses who didn't seem entirely sure what they were doing but we can put that down to inexperience. There was an older lady who was coming and going with her coat on so couldn't be sure of her role. We ordered some wine which was pleasant and inexpensive. Our starter platter was disappointing, everything deep fried and fairly tasteless, mushy spring rolls and chicken skewers in batter (?) which were dry and stringy. We ordered crispy duck which arrived pre-shredded, very dry, not crispy and cold, the spring onion garnish was more like shredded leek. Not great. Our mains were fairly innocuous, a seafood dish in a watery salty sauce and a bland beef in black bean sauce with rubbery beef, a side dish of book choi was again watery and bland. I don't want to knock the place but it just didn't seem very professional and with a bit of application could be a lot better. The competition in this market is fierce and the average Chinese/Asian takeaway would blow this place away sadly. It wasn't particularly cheap nor expensive just disappointing and we probably won't return.

Best Chinese around! I’ve tried most of the Chinese take aways in Tamworth over the past 9 months, and this is by far the best.
