Astral Cafe in City of London, Westminster

Like other travelers, we went to this restaurant because the one we were going to, which is very close, had an endless line and they were quite unfriendly. We had Fish and chips and it was pretty good. A small, familiar place and the manager is very friendly.

Chicken ciabatta, tea and mince pie for under a tenner. Great place for good food and value for money.

Order never showed up, called the restaurant and they were no help what's so ever, it's a shame because I've eaten here before and the food is good, but very very disappointed by the lack of help or care for my missing order, If you can't track just eat drivers or call them or get the restaurant to chase it up on there end there is no point risking ordering Zero shits given by the guy on the phone

Don’t be disheartened if the Regency cafe down the street has a really long line, I’ve got good news - Astral cafe has the same great food at the same great price and an atmosphere that’s unique in it’s own way, plus the wait time is significantly shorter! If you can get the owner here to smile at you, it’ll make your day

Fui al Café Astral con mi hijo a desayunar. Pedí la tortilla, que estaba demasiado cocida (ligeramente quemada en el fondo) y rellena con demasiado queso. Mi hijo tomó el sándwich del desayuno con salchicha. El pan era simple y habría sido mejor tostado para mantener el sándwich unido, pero lamentablemente no fue así cuando trató de comerlo, el contenido se derramó sobre su plato. Había un pelo en su sándwich también y la salchicha simplemente no era muy bueno. Leímos todas las críticas favorables, pero personalmente no encontramos nuestra comida apetitosa y dejamos la mitad de ella intacta.

As a London taxi driver ,I have used this cafe for many many years,top class service,food,place is always clean,never once had bad food or service,highly recommend

Found this cafe not far from the Coach station and I was glad I did. The food was very reasonably priced in my home town, never mind London. The service was very good, the food tasty and plentiful. We both had breakfast and it set us up for the day.

Sí, lo has leído bien. Estaba lleno de taxis y lleno de tarifas de taxis . . . el personal es amable y es TAN agradable tener todavía estos lugares alrededor . . Volverá para un desayuno adecuado, el doble del tamaño y un tercio del precio de un lugar llamado de moda

We went to another nearby bar and there was a long line, we came here because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. Variety of English breakfast at £8 with coffee included. Very strong and rich. The bar is small and at first it doesn't look good, but like almost all of them. The gentleman is very kind. You don't have to wait long in line. It smells a little like fried food, which is why the atmosphere has two stars.

Good, nice, cheap and familiar. We went to another nearby cafe and when we saw the queue we found this place. No lines and 100% authentic! The waitress was charming and spoke Spanish. The dishes are abundant and at a good price: an English breakfast with coffee £7.90. Super recommended! We will return for sure!

We were going to see the changing of the guard at St James, they recommended Regency Café, a famous breakfast bar a block from this place, we lined up, we tried and the line did not advance for more than 20 minutes, we would be late, so we walked a little and we found this place, with unbeatable service, well-prepared, generous food, but best of all, at a reasonable price, and quick service, gentlemen, visit this cafe, I am sure that it is not far from what What regency could offer ❤️

Mi nuevo favorito, de primera calidad, gran personal y servicio, excelente relación calidad-precio y sin duda volveré de nuevo cuando en la zona. Me dirigía a la regencia, pero me pasé esta en el camino, la cola en la regencia estaba bien fuera de la puerta, aunque valoro altamente la comida y el establecimiento, no me apetecía el ambiente de comedor social de esperar de nuevo en una larga cola antes de poder pedir y luego sentarme. La comida aquí es aún mejor calidad. Normalmente no fotografío mi comida porque estoy demasiado ansioso por comer, pero quería mostrárselo a mis colegas.

Finally a restaurant with decent prices in London. In addition, a very friendly welcome and very good local and Italian cuisine. Fast service. Many taxi drivers and workers come there for lunch. THANKS

We have read a good review about this spot. Decided to try and it was the best decision, this meal was a highlight of our trip. You sit surrounded by locals eating their classic fry up which is incredibly good and very good value!!! We also ordered lamb chops which we were a bit skeptical about at first but they were delicious too. Came out nice and hot. The staff is very welcoming too. Feels like family. Definitely recommend to everyone!

Regency Cafe was a place we discovered by chance because there was a long queue. It definitely surprised me. It was affordable and delicious, and the portions were quite large. It's a local place. I recommend.

My husband has been wanting to try a full English breakfast for so long and we finally got the chance when we had a stopover in London. We’re so glad we chose Astral because it was amazing and everything he had hoped it would be. Not to mention rhetorical fantastic value and great service.

We had breakfast twice at this restaurant. The service was quick and the breakfast was delicious, well served. Ideal if you want to try a traditional English breakfast in a local restaurant. Good prices.

This was my first meal in London, and I loved it. I had the meat lasagna and chips, and the wife had the chicken casserole. Loved it! Many apologies for walking out without paying for the wife's meal. We returned and paid once we found out. It was due to a miscommunication on our part; we apologize.

We initially wanted to go to the Regency Cafe having seen a few recommendations. When we arrived in front, the queue was enormous and looked for alternatives. Astral café is an excellent one, just one block away. What you lose in beauty of the place, you win in authencity with real London workers seating on your side. Plates are plentiful and tasty, service efficient ! Good value for money

Very pleased to find another bloody good, proper, sandwich shop/cafe. Great bread, generous fillings, proper food. Loved it. Egg mayo and salad bap - delicious. More veggie options, like a veggie sausage based breakfast, would be good.

We came across this place by chance and were amazed by the quality of the breakfast. Low prices and plenty of dishes. If you really want to have an English breakfast this is the right place for you. It is located a few steps further from the famous "Regency café" which we avoided due to queues and discovered that this excellent place is 10 steps further on. I recommend it to anyone who wants to try the "non-touristy" English breakfast, it's really worth it!

Stumbled across this place by accident and went back every day I could for breakfast. The best breakfast we had anywhere in England, phenomenal value, big portions, easy atmosphere. It’s where the cabbies eat and they’re onto something.

A real gem of a cafe, great food that is cheap, hard-working and polite staff with quick service. This is where the real londoners come to eat.

I discovered this cafe by chance, the Regency Cafe opposite was far too full for me, there was also a huge queue in front of the restaurant. The food can't be that good that I have to wait in line for hours. That's why I went to Astral Restaurant to try it out. And what can I say, it was absolutely worth it, the best thing that could have happened to me. It was also very busy here, but I managed to get a place. The staff was very competent and friendly despite all the work. The food tasted excellent, as did the coffee. I could charge my phone, read a newspaper and watch the goings-on outside through the window. A perfect early morning breakfast. Definitely recommended!!!

WHERE ALL OF LONDON'S TAXI DRIVERS CAME TO EAT!! Funny story, I knew about this place when I was drunk after hanging out at a bar in Central London and fell asleep in the cab. Instead of driving me to my destination, the driver just drives straight to here and buys himself a dinner lol Very awesome place. It has a good selection of food so much so that a picky eater can have a feast here and it's incredibly cheap. The service is quite terrible but I don't care

We went because of the reviews, and it does not disappoint, in the mornings it is full of local people. He served us the typical British breakfast, very abundant and at a very good price.

I went to find a greasy spoon when visiting London from Sydney and with the queues at The Regency I opted for Astral on the next corner. I was not disappointed! I chose my option of Full English/Fry up to come with tea. The mug was brought already brewed, milk in and the perfect colour. It was one of the best cups of tea I have ever had - better than I make it myself! The breakfast arrived moments later with 2 rounds of buttered toast cut into triangles. The service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend Astral for a greasy spoon experience!

I walked past today en-route to the tube. I popped in and decided to stay for early lunch. Very quick service, extremely good value for money , brilliant all day breakfast ( number 4 no black pudding) I really enjoyed it and will 100% go there next time I’m in the area .

Great cheap cafe with friendly service

Affordable, no-frills spot for food. Quite busy, so it takes some time for you to be served and pay at the front. Ordered a Cornish pasty and chicken soup, came after a short wait. Nice and warm, didn't taste bad, great option on a cold winter day.
