Joke of a place, came to the area for business about 3 weeks ago as a lone diner and tried to get a table at 5.30 to be told it would be a 45 minute wait for a table with the place pretty much empty so walked out. Was back in the area again on Monday and walked in about 6 pm and thought ok after last time I’ll try to book, spoke to a rather abrupt Eastern European manager behind the bar after asking to book a table for 8pm (didn’t ask how many covers it was) to be told “I’m 2 people down I’m not taking any bookings”.. that’s it! didn’t ask how many people no flexibility on time just a flat out refusal to take my booking, yet the online booking system would allow me to book online, hospitality are supposed to be struggling yet this place is supposedly doing so well they can refuse people outright, wonder what the complaints department has to say…..

Horrible servicio, comida de mala calidad. A la llegada dijo que la comida era de unos 15 minutos de espera, que no era ningún problema. Llegó la lasaña, era un plato grande (y también cuando discutimos el tamaño de la porción con el personal dijeron buen tamaño) mientras cortaba pude ver láminas de pasta, pero apenas picada, eventualmente comida una pequeña cantidad alrededor de los bordes, honestamente no había picada en el medio! Como máximo había 2 cucharaditas de picadura en todo el plato. Mencionada al camarero que dijo ¿te traigo una nueva a la que dije que sí por favor? Mi amiga estaba comiendo su pasta no para que se enfriara. Pocos minutos después alguien más vino sosteniendo un menú y dijo muy groseramente, no tiene sentido que te dé otra lasaña ¡no será diferente elegir otra cosa! Realmente no había mucho más en el menú y en ese momento estaba hambriento y siendo diabético me había dado cuenta de que me comería mi lasaña! Le dije que mirara solo siendo la lasaña de vuelta me comeré eso, pero él se negó a decir que no demasiado tarde. Él estuvo de pie todo el tiempo sosteniendo el menú en mi cara, eventualmente lo dejó y dijo que volvería. Entonces elegí una pasta que luego tardó más de 15 minutos en llegar y cuando lo hizo era de una calidad horrible y tenía 3 pequeñas albóndigas de carne, porque el tamaño y el precio era simplemente horrible. Luego pedimos 2 botellas de Diet Coke, otros 15 minutos después no habían llegado, tuve que preguntar dos veces y me dijeron que la gran fiesta de arriba tenía prioridad. Los baños estaban arriba y subí solo para ver 2 mesas de 5 personas y una mesa de 2 , todas las cuales parecían estar a mitad de su comida con bebidas, de ninguna manera este personal retrasado recogiendo 2 botellas de Coca-Cola de la nevera y caminando 5 metros para darnos nuestras bebidas. Luego ordenamos estúpidamente el desierto, 20 minutos después y otra vez persiguiendo al personal y finalmente llegamos y por casi £ 9 eran de mala calidad. Pedí factura y trataron de cobrar por la lasaña que había cortado y habían tomado y se negaron a devolver la pasta que apenas comí la mitad porque era horrible! ¡Lo mencionamos y acaban de quitarles la lasaña! El servicio era horrible la comida era horrible, no tuve tiempo de quejarme en ese momento, ya que tenía que salir para una cita y había estado allí más de 2 horas, pero desearía tener como mínimo mi pasta debería haber sido gratis! £ 84 por 4 refrescos, 2 lo que parecen ser comidas prefabricadas en microondas (especialmente dado que afirman que no podrían agregar más picado tan claramente no hecho en casa) y 2 helados que no valían la pena el dinero. McDonald’s habría sido más agradable y mucho más barato! El restaurante ni siquiera estaba tan ocupado para que ellos afirmaran que eso era razón y no es una razón para la mala calidad o el mal servicio.

Every time i come to ask i love it!! Wiki was very quick and friendly and we loved having her as our waitress.

I loved hiding out from the storm whilst having some great food, Wiktoria was a great host !

My wife is pregnant and we needed a table that required no stair access. despite the downstairs area being busy, the host promptly cleaned the table and sat us there. I thought the food was great and the recommendation from the waitress Wiki was helpful and ended up delicious.

We had quite a bit of a wait for food, but when it arrived it was yummy. Wiki was a good waitress and served food with a smile!

Always come here for the carbonara and it never dissapoints. This time we were served by Wiki and she made me and my girlfriend feel welcome.

We went for my girlfriend’s Birthday meal and let me just say, it was an absolute pleasure. We were greeted by a polite member of staff and shown to our table, candle was lit and we were provided two small complimentary glasses of lemonade. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm, and the food was delicious and fairly priced. Our waitress was Sapphire and provided fantastic service - she was very politely spoken and shared lovely conversation with the both of us. We discussed our takes on different types of pasta, she always ensured we had everything we needed and was fast to clear our table of any dirty plates when we had finished. I would absolutely visit again thanks to the kind staff and amazing food. 5 stars from a very happy customer.

Been here lots of times, always greeted with a smile and friendly face. The staff are lovely and very understanding towards my issues with food and make me feel comfortable with sharing my dietary requirements, which I haven't always had at other restaurants. The food is delicious and there's plenty of variety, as long as I'm in Cardiff I will keep coming back!

The staff are always excellent! We came in quite late today and I was pretty worried we were going to be an inconvenience to them but they were so pleasant and made me feel so incredibly welcome. The food is always great, though I always opt for my tried and true calamari as it’s always so good. We love coming here and it’s so nice to have somewhere to come with my friends to have a break from uni life. The staff are all an absolute asset to this restaurant ( I’m sure we wouldn’t be here nearly as much if it weren’t for the amazing service). I hope they all get recognised for their hard work because they deserve it. Also, cute playing cards!

The whole experience was awesome. Yasaman was absolutely amazing such a lovely girl and excellent host. The only issue was that we sat upstairs which felt a little isolated but on the whole, the food was outstanding and the wine was pure deliciousness.

We were visiting Cardiff for a work event. Our server was a young lady called Saphire. She was pleasant and attentive and had the perfect balance of making sure all was as it should be without being intrusive. A very pleasant experince with delicious food.

Went to Ask italian Cardiff last Thursday night The team serving that night was so rude and unwilling to serve The manager is to blame

As usual the food was excellent, no fault there at all and definitely recommend. Slight issue with delivery though as bag 'was broken', just seemed a bit odd.

Great atmosphere, lovely service. Jas, Vito, and Calum were amazing. On a busy rugby day drinks came really quickly and food shortly after. Check backs from staff to make sure our food was good and were topped up on drinks. 10/10

When Cardiff was a bit crowded due to the rugby game me and my friend happened to drop by this amazing place for a pizza and drinks and I must admit, we had a blast! All of the staff was so friendly (especially Calum, this guy made our day!!), the pizza was amazing, and so quickly done, even though the place was almost full. Would recommend to everyone! 💖

It was the third time we visited here as our children love Italian food. We won't be back, all the starters were burnt and my daughters main was also burnt and was not edible at all! She couldn't eat anything and we had to take her to McDonald's afterwards just to fill her little belly. What a massive shame. The pink lemonade was nice though.

The food in this restaurant is very reasonable, however a very serious training must be in place with their staff, I believe it was the manager that dealt with my table and was adressing me as if I was one of his staff and not a customer, manners are essential in hospitality.

Love the pizza here and all of the desserts sound amazing, we went for a affogato. Highly recommend. Staff and friendly and helpful. Fast service. Gpod location if your in cardiff center

Me acaban de llevar de aquí. Muy decepcionados, nos alojamos a pocos minutos en un hotel, así que esperaríamos que la comida estuviera caliente. Bueno, el risotto estaba caliente... la pizza bueno, nunca he tenido pizza fría antes, era yuk... comida muy promedio por el precio que pagas, no volvería. Tenía mejores pizzas de supermercados para ser honesto, odio escribir malas críticas, especialmente cuando la industria está en mal estado en este momento, pero estoy con salario mínimo y me molesta desperdiciar dinero bien ganado en alimentos por debajo de la media

We came for a meal and it was a nice atmosphere. Food was nice but not amazing. Would definitely go to Zizzi's next time I want chain Italian. Was very samey menu in terms of dishes. The kitchen forgot to include part of our meal, and when I ordered a takeaway desert they didn't include any of the extras. Bit of a rip off for nearly £8. Cocktails are extremely basic and syrup sits at the bottom. Without a straw you have to figure out a way to mix it yourself. Our waiter was extremely friendly though and all the staff were super smiley.

Nice food but difficult to have what we ask for... we still recommend it as it was maybe a bad luck!

We were in Cardiff for the afternoon, pure fluke that we fancied Italian and Ask Italian was in front of us..... Was as good as winning the lottery, best pizza I've ever had, perfect chips and garlic bread. Our server, Nika, was perfect. Well priced too Every time we're in the area we'll be eating at Ask Italian

A quiet and calm place. Nika was very helpful. The quantity of the food is perfect to get full but not over stuffed and the prices are good. We had some problems with the card machine but that wasn't an issue and it was resolved very fast. Food was great. Point for Nika.

Nika was just wonderful. So attentive and friendly. Made the meal and experience that little bit extra. Nothing was a problem or too much. We will be back.

Popped in for a family lunch with our children during half term, our waiter Calum was excellent - quick to look after us, accommodating of our request to quickly order the boys food first (as they were staaaarving) and then come back for ours and treating my 8 yr old like an adult - eg asking him what he wanted, checking he was happy etc. The food was lovely and would go back. Went on a hen night meal with a group of girls on the 5th of October and Calum was our server. He was so friendly and so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and the food and drinks all arrived quickly and were amazing! Thankyou Calum!!

Callum was a brilliant host for us when we attended for a hen party on Saturday night! He was very assertive and attentive to the party.

The food is excellent , we ordered a risotto and fettuccini al ragú, everything was delicious. Nika was friendly.

I love it!! I went there today, for the first time, to celebrate my birthday and had a great time. The staff were kind and welcoming which made the experience even better (ESPECIALLY MIA!!). The food was AMAZING!!! I loved the pasta and cheesecake (I got a free dessert so I loved it even more) The restaurant itself is pretty, well decorated and quiet. Even when it got busy, I was able to enjoy my time there. I would 100% go again :)

Wasn’t the experience I thought it would be. Man Manager, very disappointed in his attitude to the customer experience. He needs to know about personal hygiene and cleanliness. Bar person was coughing and not washing hands after. Would not come back!
