Megan was great at the aberdeen branch looked after us with special dietary needs and food was as good and reasonable as always

Awful food , watery sauce very little mince, worse lasagne ever had, no cheese on top , and tasted really sweet, didn't even resemble a lasagne. Friend supposed to have pasta in a creamy chicken and mushroom wine sauce, pasta undercooked and very little watery sauce couldn't be found, dry, inedible reconstituted chicken. Did complain and they took both meals away, chef must have been off and they were having a bad day. Wasn't charged ,couldn't fault service, waitress was lovely.

Had such a great time there with my boyfriend, the staff were really kind and helpful, especially fiona who took our orders. The place was really nice and the food was good, especially the pizzas.

I’ve been to a lot of ask Italian restaurants and they have been pretty mid, however Gavin today blew me away with how attentive and quick the service was and was super helpful with any and all requests.

Had lasagne and was barely any mince or béchamel sauce . Just 3 sheets of pasta and the bottom one was burnt so hard onto the dish it wouldn’t come off . I would NOT recommend this place at all. Was not busy when other restaurants in union square queueing at their doors . Wish I TAKEN THEIR ADVICE and went somewhere else

Best Gluten Free Pizza i've ever tasted. G.F. pasta also available. Friendly service, nice surroundings, defo be vack for more. Loved the little welcoming lemonade shot, very refreshing and a nice wee touch.

It is still my favorite restaurant, the food is very delicious, fresh, the homemade lemonade is fantastic, the staff is very kind and always attentive to the guest, this is real hospitality, thank you again for the good experience.

Fantastic place, one of the best in Aberdeen

Popped in for a quick lunch before flying back to Oslo, and what a great experience it was. We were welcomed by friendly staff who helped us store our luggage before we were shown to a calm and quiet booth in the restaurant. My wife has some hearing issues, and the noise level was perfect for her, so we could manage to have a conversation during our meal😃 We were served by the lovely Cira ( hope I spelled her name correctly), and on her recommendation, we opted for the trio of arrancini for starters and the Beef Brisket Pappardelle and Calzone Carne Piccante as our main dishes. And man, that was some excellent choices 😃 The pasta was freshly made and served with a very rich tasting beef brisket and red wine sauce topped with parmesan. The pizza was filled with ham, beef, pepperoni, red wine ragu, sautéed mushrooms, tomato sauce, some very spicy chillies ❤️❤️❤️ and mozzarella cheese. Finished the meal with a couple of double espressos. This was overall a very pleasant experience and we can highly recommend a visit. And we will definitely be back next time we visit Aberdeen. Keep up the great work!

Ordered online . Lasagne was literally just pasta no sauce. Very little meat.

Took advantage of their propotional two for one meals. To be completely honest I didn't think my pasta choice was going to be nice but I was wrong. It was delicious and filling. Service was very quick indeed and the girl who looked after us was bright, talkative and cared. I would certainly recomend them. One thing however, the seating is very worn. I can imagine several thousand backsides have sat on the same spot as I mine did.

Absolute shambles - Not enough staff. Waited, at entrance, for several minutes as the "greeter" was rushing around serving food. Piles of used dishes and glasses on trays, stacked at bar - not a welcoming site. Waited at table for 20 minutes, for orders to be taken, then another 20 min for drinks and starter. No cutlery! Another 30 minutes wait, after finishing starter, for main meal. Not a good experience!!! But, food was tasty. Fault was NOT in the staff, they were rushing around , trying to get people served. Fault is with duty manager who was still accepting "walk ins", without bookings, while not having enough staff to provide acceptable service

Have visited a few times. Staff are all lovely, particularly Holly. Nduja bites are my favourite although everything I have had was cooked and served very well. Would definitely visit again.

Only gave a 1 cause u cant rate a zero im shocked 38 pound for a pizza with hardly any topping had pasta which was just chewy spaggetie and mozarela on top which was just hard lumps of nasty mushy cheese and the service when she had to put on cheese grated like as if it was such a hard ship im so shockes first and last time here only one lady was nice when i arrive lady with dark hair never felt so unwelcome and looked down on in any food place :( really sad for 38 pound :(

Fuimos a una cena de cumpleaños para mi madre y nos lo pasamos de maravilla. A pesar de que estaba ocupado tuvimos una bonita cabina y el personal era muy atento y nos hizo sentir bien atendido. Tanto la pizza como la pasta servida era muy buena e incluso nos dieron un postre sorpresa de cumpleaños para mi madre del personal! Nos encantaría volver.

Great service, great food. We Had to add seats, last minute and then had to cancel them again, in addition to some of our party being late. The staff non the less, were exceptionally accommodating and came back several times to check on food, drinks & drinks despite it being still relatively busy. Wait staff also helped with splitting the bill as there appeared to be some issues with the app. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Have to admit we were pleasantly surprised, food absolutely amazing, best Risotto I have ever had, my daughter said her Carbonara is better than our favourite Italian back home and that takes some beating. Alla is an amazing waitress too. Great experience will definitely be back. 5 star all round.

I enjoy Ask Italian very much, however my experience today wasn't very good. The food was excellent as always, however I felt the staff let it down. I felt it was quite negative from the start, I asked to sit at the back as I get alot of anxiety sitting around lots of people. At first the staff member seemed hesitant and I mentioned I get alot of anxiety around people. She didn't say anything other then, looking at the door and said I am aware it will get busy ( something along the lines of this) I felt her whole approach to me was quite negative and it seemed like I was a burden. Also I felt I was rushed and I just didn't feel fully comfortable the whole time. I feel it shouldn't matter where a person sits, if I have acknowledged I have anxiety this should have been seen as important, and every customer should be treated with kindness. You never know what someone is going through. Everyone is different and I felt really sad that I was treated this way. Other than that Ask Italian is always very tasty and definitely worth it despite the treatment by staff.

I had thought I wouldn’t be able to eat at Ask Italian as I am gluten intolerant. On checking the menu I discovered they do a non gluten menu. I asked inside and the manageress could not have been more helpful. She made sure I had everything I needed. She waited on our table and was friendly, helpful and attentive. In some eateries I have been made to feel I am being awkward or an inconvenience when I ask if they cater for gluten intolerances. Today I felt very welcome at Ask Italian.

Lovely meal for fathers day. Party of 6 however one of parties meal was a problem. Young waitress got it sorted out and kindly took the cost of the bill. Our waitress was so lovely and had a good rapport with our grandson. She had him laughing and giggling.

The pizza was very delicious! We really enjoyed it and the service was also really nice. Would come back anytime!!

ASK me a question ill tell you no lies hahaha hello folks friends family travellers barry allan here huge foodie and reviewer writing again about a great dining experience please read on and as ever feel free to follow my reviews so last night my friend and i went to ASK union square Aberdeen, now ASK is a massive chain with places all over the uk some not so good im afraid to say but not im pleased to say in Aberdeen excellant is the word id use! From the moment we walked in manageress the lovely Sarah and her waitresses Lauren and Natalie were fabulous so friendly so welcoming great we sat down and perused the extensive menu we were hungry! starters we both opted for the butterfly king prawns ciabbatta in garlic and parsley what a dish juicy plump king prawns with a lovely taste of garlic and parsley the ciabatta complimenting them so well delicious we also had a folded garlic bread with mozzarella and tomatoe sauce this really was five star a great start to our meal! Mains now im king of the carbonara lol but i opted for theirs with extra mushrooms and my friend went for the king prawn and crayfish tangliatelle in a seafood sauce we sat back in anticipation our dishes arrived fabulous the carbonara was so smooth with lovely bits of pancetta and chestnut mushrooms it was so good as good as mine well haha my friend dish wow the flavour in the prawns and the crayfish ill say this delicious very well cooked an absolutely lovely dish great cooking so onto dessert well we both decided on the trio of desserts which consisted of the best mango sorbet ive had in a long time nutella filled gnoccis with a chocolate sauce wow a sweet tooths heaven and tiramisu again just so decadent full of flavour we both agreed this had been an excellant eating experience everything the service the ambience and the food were truly five star there was lots of different kinds of people young and old kids and such you can tell everyone is welcomed and whatever you require will be delivered vegetarians and vegans are catered for so my advice is if your in Aberdeen stop by for a really great meal and service to boot thanks for reading peace and love barry allan

Just been for lunch. Had the crab and lobster ravioli. The creamy sauce was terrible. Literally cream poured on the ravioli with no seasoning and hard uncooked courgette. No seasoning. My husband had pizza and said it was also poor. Wish we'd gone to Prezzo next door.

Have visited several times and never disappointed. Have tried several things off the menu over the years.

We had a LOVELY experience when we were here for my husbands birthday. A gentleman from the establishment (I assumed an owner perhaps) asked us if we were happy with where we had been put and we weren't so he moved us to a lovely romantic spot in the corner, I was EXTREMELY impressed! Thanks

Popped into ask Italian with a friend earlier this afternoon for some food and drinks - neither of us had been before and thought we would give it a go and I’m so glad we did! I opted for the Garlic King Prawn Pizza (which I was told was a new addition to the menu) and it was delicious with just the right amount of garlic. I hope this is something that stays on the menu for good. My friend had the carbonara and said it was lovely also. Lauren was our lovely waitress. She was very welcoming and made our first experience at ask Italian a pleasant one. She recommended the pink spritz cocktail for us to try - it was so tasty. A really good Italian option for Aberdeen and I would highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

Over 2 weeks ago I was here for a meal with my friend and I was double charged by the restaurant. They told me to call back and confirm my card details for a refund which I did promptly. A whole 2 weeks later nothing has happened and I have still not received a refund. I have had no update as to when my refund will be processed. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

Me and my mum went there and it was amazing, I had the carbonara and it was delicious, we also took the biscoff cheese cake and it was lovely. My mum normally doesn’t like Italians but this time she really liked it. It’s definitely worth coming here and I will be coming back

Succeeding in an Italian restaurant is quite difficult. Unfortunately I wasn't crazy about the pizza even though I found the dough very digestible. My partner's calzone with truffle surprised me because it was very good. Lovely staff and I really liked the decor too

I thought that when I went to an Italian restaurant I would eat a margarita pizza that tastes like Italian food, but I was wrong - the tomato sauce base is very sour, low-quality cheese, tasteless. Unfortunately, the entire pizza was left on the table.

Came here because we wanted Italian and never got greeted at Prezzo next door after standing for nearly 5 mins. Was seated quickly, drinks order in and food ordered. Starters didn’t take too long to arrive. Calamari and Bruschetta were nice, child menu veggie sticks a bit disappointing but nice dip with them. Mains took an age to come with our server apologising. My wife is a hospitality assessor, and reckoned they had forgotten our order, as well as thinking the kitchen was a little understaffed for the amount of covers in the restaurant. There was also a steady stream of delivery orders being prepared. We weren’t filled with confidence when tables seated well after us were being served mains before us. When the mains did arrive, our daughter’s meal order was wrong - we were offered plain gluten free pasta with no sauce. We asked for her original meal to be served. This took an age too, but we couldn’t expect a 7 year old to wait while we ate, so she ate half my wife’s meal. When the children’s meal came, she’d eaten a fair bit of my wife’s so we asked for the child’s meal to be changed to Carbonara. What came back was spaghetti with next to no sauce on it. Pretty disappointing. To be fair to the duty manager, we got a good discount off our bill, but the service fell short that night. Also, the food we did manage to eat wasn’t too bad, the bruschetta was lovely as was the calamari. Couldn’t help but feel that some restaurants should decide if they want to concentrate on customers that can be bothered to turn up or just become takeaways, as when they are busy on a Friday evening, I feel the service to the seated customers suffers. Would return at a less busy time, but it’ll be a while.

Outstanding food, services was beyond perfect. Lovely friendly staff. Very clean. The waiter we had was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The Biscoff cheesecake was unbelievably good.

Arancini was good. Filling in spinach without salt, unfortunately. Risotto was ok, but again without enough salt and could use more parmesan cheese on top.

The new Burrata and Pancetta Carbonara was lovely. A great new dish for the place. The service was excellent, especially since the restaurant was full. The food was quick, we got sat very quickly and we were asked how our food was. The atmosphere was nice and not too loud!

Oily pollo de casa, burnt rosemary bread, thick undercooked frilly pasta, burnt semolina on the pizza crust. Only thing that was nice was desert because it's probably supplied by brakes brothers. Sorry but the Aberdeen place has really gone downhill recently.

Visited Ask Italian for the first time with my fiancé tonight. We were served by 2 lovely waiters, a young man and woman. Both were extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. We ordered the spicy pollo lasagne and the fettuccine bolognaise with a side of mozzarella garlic bread. The food was amazing and delicious! We also had the mango sorbet and chocolate Etna for dessert. The place had a lovely atmosphere and the service was perfect. Thanks again to the waiters for creating a lovely experience for us. We would 100% recommend and will definitely be back!

Every time I come here the staff are super efficient, friendly and helpful! The order was taken nice and quickly and served equally as quickly. Also lovely personal touch by the manager, we had asked about how spicy a dish was and she had said they would not put the chilli's in so it was a manageable spice for my husband. I would be very worried if they ever lost the manager she's just brilliant! We also tried the new sticky toffee coffee dessert and it was DELICIOUS! Melt in the mouth and the coffee ice cream was SO yummy

I love Ask Italian generally, and their big selection of vegan options. My partner and I go roughly monthly for a casual date, and it's usually very nice! We have been given dairy versions of our vegan orders accidentally in the past, which we take and eat to avoid wasting it. (Surprisingly, I found I really do prefer the vegan cheese dough bites) Servers are friendly, and there is plenty of seating so it doesn't feel crowded. Nice decor, and wait times are fair. The one thing we don't like is that we are typically encouraged to pay online, which doesn't allow you to choose not to leave a tip. I hope the employees are being paid fairly, and they aren't relying on tips - I didn't think that was a thing in the UK!

We went as a couple for dinner. The team of staff is super lovely but rushed off their feet. Very friendly and happy to help. The food is another story. All the orders needed seasoning. Tasted much better with pinch of salt. We had calamari which was good and the arrancini trio which was nice as well the tomato sauce was bit raw and needed bit more time on the stove I felt. The mains were bit lack lustre. The chicken cacciatore had 3 stalks of broccoli which were very woody and the king prawn risotto had one king prawn and 4 tiny shrimps. Bit disappointing. The dessert was mini momenti which was very nice. The best for the last. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly though but tight space to access the toilets I think. Two starters, two mains and one dessert with tip came to 30pp. Will try other chains next time.

Lovely food, I have ate inside the restaurant and it was fully booked tonight so we got it delivered instead. Tastes just as amazing, not bothered about them extending the delivery time as it was very busy as its a Saturday.
