ASK Italian - Aberdeen in Aberdeen City

Me and my mum went there and it was amazing, I had the carbonara and it was delicious, we also took the biscoff cheese cake and it was lovely. My mum normally doesn’t like Italians but this time she really liked it. It’s definitely worth coming here and I will be coming back

There was literally 1hr and 30mins before closing and they turned us away and the chefs were whispering and staring at us cuz they were too lazy to cook

Succeeding in an Italian restaurant is quite difficult. Unfortunately I wasn't crazy about the pizza even though I found the dough very digestible. My partner's calzone with truffle surprised me because it was very good. Lovely staff and I really liked the decor too

I thought that when I went to an Italian restaurant I would eat a margarita pizza that tastes like Italian food, but I was wrong - the tomato sauce base is very sour, low-quality cheese, tasteless. Unfortunately, the entire pizza was left on the table.

The new Burrata and Pancetta Carbonara was lovely. A great new dish for the place. The service was excellent, especially since the restaurant was full. The food was quick, we got sat very quickly and we were asked how our food was. The atmosphere was nice and not too loud!

Lovely food, excellent service, highly recommended....... Will bring friends and relatives next time.

Oily pollo de casa, burnt rosemary bread, thick undercooked frilly pasta, burnt semolina on the pizza crust. Only thing that was nice was desert because it's probably supplied by brakes brothers. Sorry but the Aberdeen place has really gone downhill recently.

Visited Ask Italian for the first time with my fiancé tonight. We were served by 2 lovely waiters, a young man and woman. Both were extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. We ordered the spicy pollo lasagne and the fettuccine bolognaise with a side of mozzarella garlic bread. The food was amazing and delicious! We also had the mango sorbet and chocolate Etna for dessert. The place had a lovely atmosphere and the service was perfect. Thanks again to the waiters for creating a lovely experience for us. We would 100% recommend and will definitely be back!

I love Ask Italian generally, and their big selection of vegan options. My partner and I go roughly monthly for a casual date, and it's usually very nice! We have been given dairy versions of our vegan orders accidentally in the past, which we take and eat to avoid wasting it. (Surprisingly, I found I really do prefer the vegan cheese dough bites) Servers are friendly, and there is plenty of seating so it doesn't feel crowded. Nice decor, and wait times are fair. The one thing we don't like is that we are typically encouraged to pay online, which doesn't allow you to choose not to leave a tip. I hope the employees are being paid fairly, and they aren't relying on tips - I didn't think that was a thing in the UK!

We went as a couple for dinner. The team of staff is super lovely but rushed off their feet. Very friendly and happy to help. The food is another story. All the orders needed seasoning. Tasted much better with pinch of salt. We had calamari which was good and the arrancini trio which was nice as well the tomato sauce was bit raw and needed bit more time on the stove I felt. The mains were bit lack lustre. The chicken cacciatore had 3 stalks of broccoli which were very woody and the king prawn risotto had one king prawn and 4 tiny shrimps. Bit disappointing. The dessert was mini momenti which was very nice. The best for the last. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly though but tight space to access the toilets I think. Two starters, two mains and one dessert with tip came to 30pp. Will try other chains next time.

Amazing visit to Ask Italian! From the moment we booked we were looked after and the waitress was faultless! Pizzas were a bit too crispy and dry but all other food was very good. Based on this we will definitely be back and would recommend to others.

The ask Italian in union Square has been one of my favourite restaurants and I am glad that my now wife can say the same. We like the restaurant so much we asked if we could use some of their raspberry lemonade for our wedding which they were very ecstatic about and were happy to oblige. They even through in some of our favourite desert as well which was a lovely addition. The team was amazing especially Megan the general manager who organised it for us. It will always hold a special place in our hearts for their delicious food and for making our special day exactly the way we wanted.

Son took me for meal both ordered chicken mushrooms white wine sauce when it arrived it was so dry got them to take it back to add sauce came back with water and sauce and very spicy would never go back not worth the money

My first visit to ASK Italian, Aberdeen for lunch with my daughter on Saturday 4th November, 2023. I booked our table for 1.30pm online earlier in the day. We were served by Holly. Holly was really friendly, very professional, patiently answered all of our questions (my daughter is intolerant of dairy products) and when my daughter (just turned 18) ordered a cocktail, Holly asked for ID like she was asking "do you want parmesan" with your food - no fuss. ASK Italian have a very comprehensive free from/allergen folder which contained a very easy to use table identifying the dairy free options for my daughter. This made it so easy for her to make the right food choices. The food was delicious. The price very reasonable £53 for two mains, two desserts and a big fancy cocktail. The best thing about the whole visit was the service from Holly. She made us feel like very special visitors. Thank you. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Came to Ask Italian recently when visiting Aberdeen. The food was delicious, and came very promptly even though the restaurant was busy. The staff were lovely, and were really helpful when it came to my allergies. Overall, a great meal. I recommend :)!

Be wary if ever ordering food on a delivery app from this restaurant. The rude staff ignore the riders, therefore your order sits getting cold. Avoid. Rude and snooty staff.

Food was decent but expensive i thought for what it was. Luckily i was using some tesco vouchers to soften the blow

Servers were great and helpful, while the food was good/basic. The sorbet tasted like a very sugar heavy syrup rather than fresh. But garlic bread was decent. The atmosphere was not bad, not to busy in a Monday evening.

Time to waste so nice slow meal, really nice pizza nice desert and a nice peroni and really nice watress called Sara will deff use it next time I'm in Aberdeen

Service extremely slow. Manager apologised and took the drinks off the bill. It is frustrating when peoples who come in after you are served, eat and leave before your meal actually arrives. Food was lovely. But don't go if you have somewhere to be.

Really great food and such friendly service. My phone hadn't charged properly overnight and I was catching a train and they found me a seat near a plug so I could get some badly needed charge, really great of them!

This was a very enjoyable place to eat. The lighting was good and the service was also attentive. Sometimes the signature drinks are out; which can be unfortunate, however the food is very flavourful without being overdone. A great atmosphere for catching a bite out with friends or a cute date. Being in the middle of Union Square means that you can take time out from shopping or even transition to the cinema next door for a movie before hitting the town!

Food very poor. Butterfly prawns over cooked and welded to the dish, bruschetta was probably the worst I've seen and tasted, tenderstem broccoli stone cold. The large glass of merlot was lovely. I think the food is pre made. The bruschetta bread was soggy as if the dollop of what seemed like tin tomatoes had been sat there for some time. I won't be returning to this chain.

Pretty decent food with laid back cozy ambience. We tried the Magherita pizza, pomodoro spaghetti, pulled beef pasta and the Sicilian lemon tart with ice-cream. The house wine was however a bit underwhelming.

Had the Fondue as a starter and it was good, though nothing special. The 'Nduja Tagliatelle were also nice, though disappointingly lacking spiciness. Enjoyed the concept of choosing a trio of mini deserts rather than one normal sized one, and the brownie and panna cotta were particularly good. All in all a nice, family friendly sort of place for an Italian inspired meal.

Nice, if you don't enjoy eating. Lasagne was tiny. I felt like I ate a starter. No one asked how my meal was, so I didn't get a chance to say. So saying it here. Left hungry.

Had a lovely meal here with friends for my retirement. Meal was lovely and although we all had something different for our main course, everyone was delighted with what they had. Most of us had the salted caramel sundae which was delicious and one person had the tiramasu which was equally delicious. Staff were really friendly too. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Great service, friendly and efficient! Drinks and food all arrived in a timely manner and any extras we asked for were quickly provided which is no small feat! Food was good and we found the kids’ meals to be particularly well presented and excellent value.

I have been several times and tried different dishes and has always been excellent. Staff is attentive, food is freshly prepared and tasty. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. I recommend and plan to keep visiting for more delicious food.

Pasta wasn't al dente it was hard and it felt like it was reheated because partly pasta looked tosted, and no sauce at all. All together was so dry combined with soggy meet, not nicely smeared as it used to be, asparagus in trace amounts. Calzone was already soggy too but it is delivery fault it took too long I guess. Very sad as it is my favourite place to eat. I used to order online and also eat in and always my pasta was just perfect. What happened now?..

Meal was so hot, it burnt my tongue. Asked to have on plate to cool down and staff very unfriendly and not helpful at all. Will not be back in future either 😟😟😟😟😟😟

Sono italiana, e oggi ho provato questo ristorante per mangiare qualcosa che assomigliasse alla mia casa. Abbiamo lasciato tutto nei piatti . Cibo orribile, davvero non si poteva deglutire. Abbiamo speso 46 £ per 1 bruschetta e 2 piatti di spaghetti al ragù ( che ragù non era ) sono arrivati i piatti. Ci siamo alzati e siamo andati via. Davvero sconvolgente.

Lovely mains, desserts a little dissapointing.

came here with my family just for desserts, got in and asked first waitress if there is any tables free and she simply walked away? another waitress came up and asked what we’re looking for and had to repeat myself. we got seated and we’re left 15 mins without getting service, looking over at waitresses that were sitting chatting indicating that we are ready. they came and took the order and left us for a following 20 mins for 5 coffees and 5 desserts. restaurant had max of 10 tables so we didn’t understand what was taking so long. we asked if it’ll be long as we wanted to shop after and we’re spending up to 45 mins for a simple stop for coffee. got the order after wait and 2 of the coffees were wrong but the desserts were good. got our bill and mentioned to a small blonde waitress that we werent giving tip although the dessert was good the waiting time was extensive. the waitress then replied “if you’re looking for a quick coffee then stop by starbucks or costa”. we were taking aback by this rudeness and lack of accountability from the staff. the same waitress then watched us leave and said “bye” in a snide and sarcastic way. will not be returning as i expect better. i’ve worked in hospitality when i was waiting 10+ tables on my own and wouldn’t leave a table this long, and when receiving feedback i would apologise and take it correctly. absolutely shocking.

This is a message to the brothers that own Ask the staff in Aberdeen are fantastic being eating there since it opened the best chain restaurant by miles

This is the first restaurant that I've visited who take food allergies so seriously...delicious food and great staff too.

Food was lovely chicken lecca lecca to begin with, piping hot with good garlic mayo and spicy tomato dip. Main course I had the manzoni piccante, and it was a great dish not too spicy and well cooked. I would recommend visiting. Unfortunately no photos were taken

Lovely friendly staff ...Food is absolutly delicious ... highly recommended... reasonably priced and some lovely little toyches like shots of lemon juice on arrival. Should at least try it you will go back

Waited for 30 mins+ to get a burned pasta but when I complained they got me another one , it was good tho , but the whole process took 50 mins+

First time here at Ask Italian and can’t wait to come back. Amazing service from a very friendly waitress. Food served in perfectly sized portions and super delicious! Especially impressed with their childrens homemade chicken goujons! To quote my 9 year old…..best food ever!

The food was good, the service was slow but polite. Disappointed that they told us they couldn't use all of our vouchers so we could keep them for next time, then they used them for someone else so effectively stole over £20

Very dissapointed about the order recived. I’ve ordered a portion of Butterfly King Prawns, and I paid £7.50 + delivery. I received 4 king prawns, hidding shy in the corner of the box. I”ll attach pictures. Note: on Deliveroo app doesn’t state the portion include 4 x prawns.

Poor service, average food and sadly my friends couldn't use the vouchers over the festive period. So a big waste of time. Although the food was ok, and if the service was better, I could have been convinced to go back.

Great food - but service was awful Restaurant was almost empty, took 30 mins for starter to arrive (garlic bread) and a further 35 mins for the main. A table of three arrived about 30 mins after me, finished and paid before my main arrived. They even commented that I must have been forgotten.

Good was great. If I would grade it, I'd say 97 percent 😁really enjoyed the pizza We booked out table at 6 pm, main food got served after 7 pm, the entree a bit before that. Its a good place to bring a date over cause you have time to talk, but not if you're wanting quick food. Recommended date place
