Delicious food and very friendly staff. Best Singapore Vermicelli my wife has eaten, will be back again this evening and hoping for more of the same.

Had some fantastic food here on a Tuesday evening. Super fresh and really flavoursome. Mixture of oriental cuisines - the Thai green curry was delicious.but equally the lamb cumin was really delicious and the belly pork was sublime. Great night

Visited for the first time on 19.04.25. Received a lovely warm welcome from Yin (Peggy Sue) who was absolutely lovely all evening along with our waitress, Kerry Anne. We had one of the best Chinese meals ever. Starters of salt n pepper squid and chicken gyozo followed by king prawn curry and crispy chilli chicken all washed down with a bottle of Shiraz. Will definitely be back again and have no hesitation recommending this place.

After living in Plymouth for 2 and a half years and unable to find a Chinese takeaway up to the standard of the one at our previous home we were giving up hope of ever having one again. After seeing the reviews of this place we decided to have another go and so glad we did. The food and service was excellent, so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go again and can finally give up the search for a good Chinese meal. Thank you all.

What a wonderful spot! Came for a birthday dinner and the owner and staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, friendly and kind, really lovely atmosphere with brilliant food. We all ordered a big variety of dishes and were all so happy with the delicious meals! Would really recommend.

My partner and I visited late evening on a Friday. We were caught looking at the menu and welcomed inside to have a seat to look at the menu properly. We were greeted by a very confident, funny and outgoing lady. She reassured us that just because we had come inside we were under no obligation to eat there if we didn’t want to. The lady was kind, welcoming, funny and instantly made us both feel very relaxed and comfortable. She was extremely good at recommending things on the menu. The service was quick and the food was delicious! We left satisfied and have talked about returning! It was quiet when we went, they deserve more business! GO AND VISIT! 10/10 recommend!

What a beautiful little restaurant! From being very warmly greeted with a smile and a genuine welcome, to eating the most delicious food. I am sure this was the most tastiest crispy chilli shredded chicken I have ever had, and I’ve had this dish from MANY restaurants before! The tofu vermicelli was perfect too! We enjoyed every bite of our food and will absolutely be coming back. The atmosphere and customer service was second to none and this place deserves to be tried by all. Tonight we ordered kway teow, pork intestines, crispy chilli beef and egg fried rice. We especially liked the kway teow and crispy chilli beef. The Kway teow was nice with different ingredients like chicken, prawns, sausage, it’s very flavoursome and 有鑊氣. The crispy chilli beef was one of the best we have had in Plymouth, it is Very 酥脆, not with hard batter. My boyfriend doesn’t eat pork intestines so he couldn’t give comments but I would say it the kind of 肥腸 I like, it’s not too fat and I like it they put broccoli as well, a little spicy but you can also taste its flavour which is good. Sometimes when you eat hot food, you can taste the spicyness but it’s tasteless. Overall we did enjoy the food and we will come back again and I will def order the Kway Teow again. Also Peggy was a very friendly lady. ☺️☺️

I can't recommend this restaurant enough! The two owners are so welcoming and accommodating, and the food was exceptional. For those of you with dietary restrictions, particularly celiac disease/gluten intolerance, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, and are willing to customize several items on the menu using gluten-free soy sauce and oyster sauce. I'm not sure this is an item they typically provide on their menu, but they even made some gluten-free salt and pepper chicken wings using a potato starch coating, and they were some of the best wings I've had in a very long time! Everything was reasonably priced, fantastic quality, and extremely flavorful. The best Chinese food in Plymouth, bar none!

BEST PLACE TO EAT SOME ASIAN FOOD IN PLYMOUTH! The owner is very warm and treats every customer like part of their big family. The delicious food is made with authentic, quality ingredients at a reasonable price. As the person came from Taiwan, if I ever want to relive the taste of home while living abroad, this would be my top choice. As someone who often organizes gatherings to introduce friends to Chinese cuisine, this place would also be my first pick. PS 1: I wasn’t really sure, but my Malaysians friends all said that the cuisine really fits the level of their country’s local restaurant, and the taste is fascinating, hope this helps! PS 2: As soon as I entered the restaurant, I smelled the reassuring smell of my grandma’s house. I wonder if anyone feels the same as me hahahahahaha The lady boss is super nice! ! love you! ! When he suggested dinner at a local Chinese restaurant they loved, I happily agreed. As it turned out, the place was Asian Noodle Bar, a charming family-run Malaysian-Chinese gem in Plymouth. I’d actually eaten here a few months prior and remembered it fondly, but this visit deepened my appreciation even more. Despite it being a busy Friday evening and us not having a reservation, the kind owner warmly arranged a table for us—a small gesture that meant a lot. By 6:30 PM, the restaurant was buzzing with energy. Locals streamed in for takeaways, and the dining room filled with laughter. In these tough economic times, with layoffs and uncertainty everywhere, seeing such loyal customers return speaks volumes. Noodle Bar isn’t just surviving; it’s thriving because it does something extraordinary. The food, of course, is delicious—authentic, hearty, and full of flavour. But what truly stood out was the **human touch**. The owner’s genuine kindness and the waitstaff’s bright smiles made the meal more than just sustenance; it felt like being welcomed into a family. In a world where so many restaurants focus solely on transactions, Noodle Bar nourishes both the body and the spirit. Food feeds the stomach, but sincerity and hospitality feed the soul. We’ll be back soon. 28 March 2025 I visited the Asian Noodle Bar for lunch today with my family, based on my son’s recommendation. He had mentioned it was one of the best Chinese restaurants in Plymouth, with high ratings on Google Reviews, and it certainly lived up to expectations. This Malaysian family-run restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and we were immediately impressed by the friendliness of the owner. Her hospitality really stood out. We started by ordering three authentic Chinese dishes, all of which were delicious. My son’s girlfriend particularly enjoyed the dumplings, noting how juicy inside they were. My son loved the beef stir-fry ho fun, and I was very pleased with the duck and vegetable soup with vermicelli noodles. For the second round, we tried two more dishes, one was a beef stew with potatoes, which the owner kindly recommended, and the other was a pork belly dish my son chose. Both were exceptional, but I was especially impressed with the richness of the beef stew. Throughout our meal, I noticed the owner greeting customers warmly, many of whom seemed to be regulars, which speaks to the restaurant’s strong reputation. The dining area was clean and well-kept, and I even noticed small details like the fire extinguisher being in place, a sign of attention to safety and regulations. Overall, we had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Asian Noodle Bar. For anyone looking for something different from the usual Sunday roast, this restaurant is a fantastic alternative. We left completely satisfied and will definitely return.

We visited on a Thursday evening & had a fantastic meal. The lady who served us was very helpful & made suggestions. We shared hot & sour soup, homemade dumplings with a lovely dipping sauce, Hong Kong style sweet & sour chicken, egg fried rice. I don't know how we made room, but we finished up with toffee banana & ice-cream! All dishes were as good or better than any we've had in other restaurants, the chef is top class. We were visiting Plymouth & will definitely come back next time we're in town.

Just Wow ! Having lived in Shanghai,China for 10 years, I was craving authentic Chinese food and this place just blew my mind away. My wife, the kids and I enjoyed the meal, very generous portions and the taste sent us back in time! Great Restaurant, Lovely hosts who are so friendly and welcoming. A hidden gem! Second time I’ve been here with friends and family and the food was delicious on both occasions, it’s got to be one of the the tastiest, friendliest and most accommodating restaurants in the city centre. I’ll be back for sure!

A real hidden gem with the tastiest food in the South West and beyond! Great freshly made Chinese food, locally sourced, served always with a smile by the amazing Peggy, her husband and staff. There’s no monosodium glutamate here. Tip: try some dishes from the authentic Chinese menu alongside those from the main menu. Whilst you wait for your starters take a peek at the historic early Tudor Buck Well tucked away in the restaurant. It was once a public well in an open square where people came to draw water, do their washing and gossip. You can almost hear the tales of Henry the 8th the new king, gold and spices that were starting arrive from South America, and the new city walls that were being built for Plymouth’s protection at the time. Enjoy! You won’t be disappointed 🙂

Peggy, Hui & their team give a warm & friendly evening filled with fantastic food. There was a big group of us but the food was quick & extremely tasty. I’ve had a takeaway & sit in meal and will definitely be back for both. Maybe next time I will try something other than my favourite Singapore Vermicelli…. There is certainly more than enough to choose from!

The warmest welcome awaits you at this lovely restaurant. The best Asian food you could ask for, freshly prepared for you. Yin & Hui give you the "old fashioned" restaurant experience where customers become friends & return time after time. Their lunchtime cash only deal (2 courses for £12.50p) is what my friends & I had today. Rachel said her chicken wings were the best she'd ever had, the rest of the food was hot & delicious. If you've not been here , try it! Thank-you both for another lovely lunch.

The sizzling duck was incredible, as was all the food we ate. The service was friendly and professional. There is also an old well covered with glass in the restaurant, which dates back to the 1500s. Great atmosphere in a historical building. The staff were all lovely and the food delicious , including the very tasty deserts 😋

Asian Noodle Bar is a lovely little restaurant that serves delicious and authentic Asian cuisine. The service from the staff was flawless, the food was excellent and was served quickly. The vermicelli soups are great for warming up on a cold day, especially the spicy beef one!

We got a takeaway from here for the first time tonight. We moved to Plymouth 3 years ago and we were still on the hunt for a Chinese we really liked. Finally we've found it! Not just chinese either, the menu has so many options. First thing I look at is the food hygiene rating before I go anywhere and was so pleased it had 5 out of 5. Keep up the 5 star hygiene as it makes a difference. I noticed all the food was labelled really well and even had allergy stickers on them. I was also really impressed with the presentation considering we had a takeaway. It sold the restaurant to me and I will definitely be dining in, in the future. We had the honey mustard sesame chicken and the crispy chicken with sweet chilli thai sauce and chicken fried rice. Wow! All dishes the chicken was really tender, the meal tasted fresh and the flavours were more interesting than others I've had elsewhere. We also had half a crispy aromatic duck and it wasn't dried out or chewy at all. One of the best crispy aromatic ducks I have had in a long time. Glad we have found our go to Chinese. We will be recommending to everyone we know and returning again and again.

We had a private function here for a birthday and it was perfect from start to finish. The owner Peggy is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the prawn toast. Thank you to everybody at Asian Noodle Bar for a great evening.

A restaurant is more than just a place to eat food. The Asian Noodle Bar epitomises all that is good in an eatery. A table was easily booked in a phone call though the website does offer a straightforward form. Walking in, we were met by ‘Peggy’ who guessed correctly who we were. The welcome was as effusive as an old friend welcoming you into their home. The restaurant is restfully lit, modestly decorated and has plenty of space between tables. On a cold night outside, it was comfortably warm inside and the sound of a roaring burner and the clatter of the cooking wok rounded off the easy atmosphere. The menu was easy to follow with a great selection of various Asian style dishes. We settled for Kung Po King Prawn (glorious chilli hit) & Beef in Black Bean sauce with noodles. It may not always be available but, the Salted Caramel ice-cream was a glorious ending to our repast. We will most certainly visit again.

I stumbled across this restaurant on social media! Off the beaten track - DO NOT MISS this gem of a place to eat the tastiest most AUTHENTIC Chinese (Northern China) food. The best tasting Chinese meal I have eaten in ages - the salt and pepper squid was delicious and started our meal off just great. Yin (aka Peggy) is the most delightful host - very knowledgeable and excellent at describing what the food contains. As this is all freshly cooked, the chef is accommodating highly accommodating to individual needs, allergies, and tastes - hot, spicy, or not quite so much. Vegetarian and pescatarians are really well catered for. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We were attracted to this place by the £12.50 2 course lunch menu and the fabulous reviews. We had an utterly delicious meal at a very reasonable price and were very glad we had chosen to come here. Peggy was very welcoming and obviously strives to make every visit the best it can be. We left feeling as if we were part of the family and would definitely return if we are in Plymouth again.

Third time lunching here in the last few months, there are some great authentic flavours on the menu - we love the cumin lamb, char kway teow noodles and the Chinese dumplings - and the usual favourites are done really well too. Merry Christmas to Peggy and the team, we'll be back, or popping in for takeaway, in the New Year I'm sure!

Went here for a birthday meal, last night, we were looking for a sit in Chinese, wow wow wow, so friendly and welcoming, food was all cooked fresh , was hot and tasted absolutely amazing. Had a variety of dishes. Chefs special of pork with leek was recommended and was delicious. The best Chinese food we’ve had in a long time.
