Ashvale in Aberdeenshire

Worst chipper I have ever had! Haddock supper and sausage supper for my wife was ordered. We had to throw it out after eating a few mouthfuls. Grease laden and completely tasteless! Same they are so horrible and using the Ashvale branding. The one in town is a much higher standard. I was charged £15 just to throw it in the bin 5 minutes after purchasing. Waste of money and time.

Only used it twice and both times the food was dire Unlike the other Ashvale outlets this place is the pits

Had a lovely meal there and was really impressed. No grease at all and loved the mushy peas. Service was great too, very friendly

Nice food, service a little lacking as the girls were more interested in what they were going to wear on Hogmanay

My friends and I visit ashvale at least once a week and usually really enjoy our visits as it's a great time to catch up and enjoy some tasty food. The ladies who usually serve us are very kind, polite and treat us very well. However, when my friend and I visited we were served by a lady who we've never seen betore. A smily, young girl at first glance but once she took our order became very undermining and rude. I had asked for salad instead of peas and this is usually not a problem, but this one lady decided this was not allowed and sharply said 'no'. I asked the reason why and she said I would have to remove my chips to have a side salad or do without. Once my plate of food arrived I had to send the macaroni cheese back as it tasted of flour. I was quickly given a plate of chicken fillets instead but were cold on the inside. We were quickly shuffled out for a bingo night and I had to pay full price for something I didn't eat or enjoy. Very disappointed.

I visited about 21:50hrs, about 10 minutes for closing. Upon placing my take-way order, the staff were clearly dismayed as 'their' quota of chips that they had been 'keeping an eye on' to take home was to be lessened by my order. I ordered a small portion of chips and a jumbo battered sausage. This was served by a charmless member of staff. The chips were very greasy and a mixture of overcooked and under-cooked and cost a whopping £2.20 for what was a very very small portion. The battered jumbo sausage was dry, very peppery to taste and had the consistency as though it had been cooked the day before.I had diarrhea as a consequence of the food served at this establishment.

We have dined at this restaurant on many occasions and never had a bad meal , they do great fish n chips that are always cooked fresh to order. The epitome of the Great British Chipper , highly recommended

Conseguimos un Jumbo abadejo y una porción de patata buñuelos, absoluta vergüenza para servir a este para el consumo humano. Buñuelos de patata cruda y un desastre básicamente de grasa. El pescado no fresco seco y sin sabor. Solía ser una gran tienda de chip pero ha bajado en mi último varias visitas.

Los precios son buenos, así que es el servicio y el sitio se ve bien, está justo al lado de la tienda de chips en el mismo edificio, pero no notará su sábado. También si puedes deberías probar postres, no demasiado caro. Sin duda volveremos.

What can I say? Fish and chips? Good but nothing special Been here a few times in the restaurant and the service is good

Servicio de alta velocidad razonable. Personal orden bastante educado, pero tenía que ser repetido varias veces. Los precios no son baratos. Tamaño de la porción es bastante patética, teniendo en cuenta el precio. La comida era horrible. Las patatas fritas eran frías y secas. La morcilla negra parecía que había sido cayó en un charco - parecía demasiado. Un montón de dinero por una bolsa de comida que sólo se podría equiparar a proporcionar restos. Detesto ser servido basura y como tal nunca volveremos.

This restaurant do great fish n chips , freshly cooked and great quality , portions are very good as well . The general menu is very good as well

Being what I call a good customer of the ashvale ,tonight's jumbo was like a standard there was only 19 chips ,the stancard was the same size more batter than fish with 21 chips ,busy or not standard should still be me .

Me parece que el promedio en general muy Ashvale y extremadamente caro, pero fuimos un rápido para llevar después de un largo día de trabajo. El hombre que sirve me era extremadamente grosero. Pedí queso en los chips de nuestras cenas de pescado y luego el pescado encima. Este fue aparentemente inaceptable ya que ya tenían las cajas. Un personal más joven de vino a ayudar y cuando le expliqué cómo me gustaría mi comida el hombre grosero dijo que lo "que para mí esta vez "como si yo solicité algo increíble. Bien gracias por hacerlo por mí esta vez, ya que no se viene una próxima vez.

Fui con mi hija menor para principios del día de la madre almuerzo [viernes]. Excelente pescado y patatas fritas, un servicio eficiente y cortés.

Lugar que media con un personal encantador y una media de pescado y patatas fritas. Los precios están bien. La comida es siempre caliente, pero quedaría mejor en platos más grandes.

Just popped in for a quick meal and tge service and politeness of the staff was oustanding as was the lasagna

Visited for lunch and had small fish and chips and scampi and chips. Service was very quick and pleasant. Have also eaten here before and always enjoyed it. The staff are excellent! Would recommend.

I've been attending Ashvale restaurants since 1993 and have always enjoyed them. My current liking is for less calories - so when we sat down in the Market Street restaurant and had the standard Haddock and chips with the desired choice of peas (mushy fur me) - I was delighted to cut into a very light and beautifull crusty batter. And the chips were simply wonderful. It is very obvious that somebody is making a lot of effort to ensure the continuance of quality. The staff are clearly well trained and seem genuinely interested in your comfort and enjoyment of the product. Thanks for the treat

This Ashvales restaurant is unlike any other Ashvales, the others when you sit down to eat. the staff will say if you would like more chips free of charge just, let me know,the Ashvales in Inverurie, will give you none free of charge any extra chips must be paid for, this shop manager is obviously very stingy, and has no idea about customer care, I guess he has little or no experience in this industry,he appears toi watch every chip the staff serve up, dont expect this shop ever to be busy, as word gets round fast, also he is way over priced, in Oldmeldrum ,the fish and chips is much much cheaper, even the other chip show locally is way cheaper, this manager probably thinks, all that matters is money, no its customer care, so I would not recommend this Ashvales. stay clear and use the other chippy in the local area cheaper and much nicer.

Good basic chipper food. Pleasant restaurant with friendly staff. Food arrives promptly and the portions are large.

Expensive Fish & Chips, considering the fish is from the North Sea, & the chips are local, the food was ok but overpriced, the restaurant was clean & tidy, and the staff were good, the food came in good time,

The Ashvale is a good takeaway with quick friendly service. The fish and chips is good and is one of the better take always in inverurie. Will be back ah sin.

The fish and chips were 1st class!! the staff were very friendly and efficient on the 2 occasions I've been there.

We sometimes indulge ourselves and go to the Ashvale for a treat. Great food, lovely accommodating staff and excellent quality and value.

A delicious meal--the fish was very fresh and the chips were good too,though there were the usual odd bits that were not so edible.

The Ashvale chain of restaurants has a generally good name for the quality of its produce and service, and although the restaurant staff are friendly the food can be a very poor miss in terms of taste and quality. If desperate for something to eat after a busy day we may use the take away service, but this would not be our first choice of eatery, sadly dissapointed as the Aberdeen venue far exceeds this one in all areas.Inverurie happily has many more restaurants to choose from!

This is a traditional Fish and Chip restaurant in a [franchised?] chain. Always greeted by friendly staff and is our favourite chipper in Inverurie. Sit down meals or takeaway, chips are divine.

If you fancy an ashvale better avoid this one, go to Aberdeen where you get a ashvale as its intended,This place even reduced the size of the oval plates to make it look bigger how tight can you get considering the price you pay, not recommended, keep your money.

Could not find any fault with service or food in The Ashvale.On arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to our table, the various options were clearly explained, food came quickly and was thoroughly enjoyed.Would recommend and will return.

Seem the day of the Ashvale is over although you still get flashes of inspired cooking," I know I'm speaking about fish suppers" But you need to go to the Aberdeen branch all the rest are hit or miss, Remember to tell them a hot plate or the food goes cold quite quickly.

Does not live up to the good name of the ashvale restaurant/takeaway in aberdeen. Still the best chippy in the area though

Coming from a fishing town I ate a lot of fish and chips in my childhood and would consider myself something of an expert! A recent visit to the Ashvale in Inverurie didn't disappoint me. The special included a good sized haddock, cooked to perfection, hand cut chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and tea. Excellent in every way and the price was very reasonable. Next time I would order the jumbo haddock as I enjoyed it so much.

Bought jumbo haddock few times. Sometimes amazing. Sometimes very poor.... In my experience it all depends on who is frying your fish. Next time I would look who is working before entering.

The fish & chips are wonderful. A large piece of Haddock & fish shop chips - can't beat them. Fish cooked to perfection, not overloaded with batter & crispy too. My only complaint - hence the 4* & not 5* is the price of a can of fizzy drink..... You expect to pay over the odds for drinks when you go out to eat, but £2.20 for a can is extortionate! Wouldn't put me off eating there, I'll just order tap water next time :-)

The standard fish and chip supper at the Ashvale in Inverurie offers a dinner plate length of moist and succulent Haddock, with chips of course and a choice of peas, beans or mushy peas. Tea is extra but essential, bread and butter is also extra but essential.Tartare sauce and a slice of lemon to bring out the flavour of the fish.The combination of flavours is quite satisfying in itself, the mild meaty fish, the fluffy chip with a hint of vinegar, washed down with a little tea, is to my mind a complete experience.

THE FISH AND CHIPS ARE BRILLIANT. the staff are really good and helpful. the food is hot and of good quality. the restaurant is very clean. great value for money. all good
