Ashraf's Indian Kitchen in East Renfrewshire

Bought a wowcher for a very good price and expected a mediocre curry and extortionate drinks. Instead we got very generous portions which tasted incredible, and the drinks etc were very reasonable. Excellent service. Will be back!

Got a carry out on Easter Monday. Very nice indeed. We have a booking for next Friday for 4 so looking forward to introducing our friends there. Had a wee look at the wine list very reasonably priced.b

Really excellent service from start to finish. We were encouraged to take our time, never rushed. Everything came out in perfect time. Food was gorgeous and well presented. The new staff being trained were so polite and on top of everything. Highly recommend!

Fantastic restaurant , food was amazing and service was first class

After reading lots of positive reviews we decided to give ashrafs a try, only to be hugely disappointed. We booked a table for 7 o’clock on a Friday night, we weren’t seated until half 7 then had to wait another 20 minutes before we got a drinks order taken. After being there for an hour a food order was taken then our mains didn’t arrive until after 9 o’clock, at that point we had been there for over 2 hours. The food was mediocre and the service chaotic. Overall an extremely disappointing experience and we won’t be returning.

My friends and I visited Ashrafs for the first time. The welcome and attention from staff was lovely. The food was amazing and well presented. We will definitely be back soon.

Loved this place! A hidden wee jewel in Clarkston. Food came out in good time, piping hot and delicious. It's very intimate and cosy so book ahead, fills up fast. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, ask them anything about the food or it's ingredients and they'll answer without hesitation. Definitely going back

Hi This is our local Indian restaurant and we are very lucky. Family run business with staff that are some of the best I have come across. The food and decor atmosphere everything is very good. Please try this wee gem.

Stopped here for takeaway curry after a long days work, food was utterly fantastic, the staff were very accommodating, providing cutlery as we ate in the van, will 100% be back, taste was on point and the breads were light, warm and fluffy, will be back soon

Ashraf's provided the catering at our New Year Party, which was a buffet lunch. They explained and served the various dishes to our guests. We were all delighted with the excellent meal and service. Ashraf and family were happy to accommodate our wishes and were a pleasure to deal with. They take a great pride in what they do and we have no hesitation in recommending them.

This is by far the best Indian food I've ever had. I'm not usually a great fan of Indian food as there are many flavours I don't like - I'm sensitive to ginger, coriander, cumin, and various curries, which doesn't leave me with a lot of choice, so I rarely have Indian for that reason. But for Ashraf's, I can safely say I absolutely loved every bite. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Absolutely delicious. Very high quality ingredients and excellent taste. The service was also first class. There were no papadoms on the Just Eat app, so I called to see if I could order something to the same cost and they could just replace that item with the papadoms (which is on their menu), and they were more than happy to help. Unfortunately I'm only in the area temporarily but I would go back here any time! Fantastic food!

Food was rubbish ordered matar panner and naan bread peas was uncooked watery not even not mixed it last time we ordered saag panner it was really nice but now its rubbish mango also not good spend £31 but its useless

Had a worst Indian food ever. Me being an Indian this restaurant does not meet the expectations. They are expensive for the quality of food. I had ordered takeaway 3 starters,2 curry and 1 side and 1 main dish, the total was £71 with £5.50 delivery. The curry was only made of tomato sauce base. There was no taste expect for tomato sauce. We even called the restaurant to make it authentic but it seems like they are not sure what Authentic food means. Never will order here and will never recommend any of my friends. No way it is Indian food. Pulao rice was dry and no flavours. Update: Thanks Tina for replying. I see you have replied after your Ashraf called me and spoke to me and also your colleague calling me soon after. If my review was not correct then I would have received 2 calls for over 30min each. You need to agree that the food wasn’t great and you will improve. Instead of calling me. Now don’t say you didn’t, I have the call records and share it.

Had a very tasty meal and the service was great. Good value for money too.

Was in here 2nd December for a carry out curry 1 starter 1 accompaniment 1 curry and 1 pilau rice was not too bad with curry very flavoursome although the price left a lot to be desired as £27 a very expensive carry out

A real passion for cooking here, fresh, south indian flavours and they even have kingfisher on tap served cold with a smile. We are local and we think this family run business is worth every penny. Great staff, great food and a great price. Thank you guys!

Folk coming for a curry, booked delivery for 17.45 expected to be a bit late. delivered at 17.10 full 35 mins early ordinarily not a big issue but time in the oven dried the food.

Family run South Indian restaurant with amazing authentic food. From the popadoms and the special dips to the mixed grill - it's full of flavour and well made. Something spicy in the garlic chilli curry was amazing. The mild coconut masala was so colourful and full of flavour. The restaurant is lovely and cozy and well decorated. Taz and Tina were very welcoming hosts and made sure we had a special time :)

Me & my friend went last week and had a lovely time. Has a wide range of options for veggies which is great and are all very reasonably priced! Lovely atmosphere in there and will deffo be back :)

We went there for my son's fifteenth birthday after reading the reviews on Google and we were certainly not disappointed. The service was absolutely fantastic, an absolutely lovely bunch of people who made my son's evening with a lovely piece of cake in between his sixth or seventh course!! The food was wonderful, from the poppadoms with the amazing dips, ask for the house lime pickle, you won't be disappointed, through the curries to the sweets and coffees we could not have had a better meal. A wonderful evening spent in a lovely restaurant. Thanks very much.

I would recommend the poppadoms, as the dips are amazing. Curries are excellent. The service is the best I've had in a long time. Really helpful and so keen to ensure you enjoy your experience. This will now be our go to take away and sit it for Indian food.

The food was amazing, had a few takeaways that were just a cut above pretty much anything else going in the southside . Been to the restaurant twice, the food has been exceptional along with the service. Tried a few dishes and I think that this is up there as one of the best Indian restaurants in Glasgow.

We've eaten from here a couple of times and the food has been spot on each time (take out). The staff are lovely, and from what I can tell the restaurant seems to have a great atmosphere too. Highly recommended.

We decided to try Ashraf’s at Busby told on a whim really. Passed it a few times since it opened a few months back and tonight was our first visit. I don’t write reviews often, but am compelled to shout about just how lovely this place is. They offered us two choices of menu, the pre theatre at £14.95 and the regular menu. My mother doesn’t have a huge appetite anymore so the pre theatre (which suggested slight smaller portions) sounded perfect for her. I have to say that the portions were ample! I ordered the dish I always order when trying an Indian restaurant for the first time…chicken tikka bhuna. I know how a good bhuna should be prepared and I was not disappointed. I was served probably the best version of this dish I have ever eaten. Deep, complex but balanced flavour. A true delight. No lumps of tomato as per most standard curry houses in Glasgow. Absolutely beautiful dish, prepared with care and skill. With it I ordered pilau rice. If you like the weird rice many places serve, with electric green and red coloured grains through it, Ashraf’s is not for you. These guys prepare beautiful, light rice scented with garam masala. Incredible. Mum’s vegetable jalfrezi was also to an exceptionally high standard and the naan we shared was light and crisp. We didn’t need it, but pleased we ordered it! The service was really lovel, warm and friendly and our waitress (Liba I think she said) was genuinely interested to hear what we thought of each element of the meal, including the cute selection of dips served with our poppadoms at the beginning. The restaurant was quiet. Not unusual for a midweek night in mid July. I do hope the residents of East Ren embrace Ashraf’s. They have great culinary smarts and deserve to be queued out the door.

Food was fabulous, fresh, tasty and well presented. The poppadoms and chefs special dips are a must. I had veg pakora which came with a beautiful salad followed by kashmiri chicken korma. The korma came with added fruit pieces and was delicious. Could have done with slightly longer between courses but I know it is difficult to gauge when you have slow eaters. Thank you for a wonderful meal. Will be back again soon.

This restaurant is an absolute gem it is our favourite in Clarkston. The food is always delicious do not hesitate to give a try you will not be disappointed. Warm friendly staff and perfect location.

Dined in This evening. A friendly and welcoming service. Staff Extremely enthusiastic and wanted to please. Completely attentive to everyone. Food excellent and extremely fresh and tasty 😋. A pleasure dining- would happily dine again!!

The food is certainly tasty, ordered twice as as home delivery and well on time. The prawns tikka needs some improvement, it was bit too chewy. They did acknowledged it which feels good that they are watching the reviews. Will see in my next order as we certainly liked the taste.

We were a party of 6 dining The food was excellent, We had poppadoms with various dishes of mixed spiced onions some of which I had never heard of, they were lovely We started with mixed pakora, we only ordered 3 as it was plenty for the 6 of us it was very tasty. We all had different curries as a main dish and every one of them was good. The food was really fresh and piping hot. The staff were really friendly and very attentive, there was one in particular (which i dont know his name) but he was excellent, he was very professional but very warming and made you feel comfortable. It was a very enjoyable evening and we will all return.

I have been here a few times with both friends and family. Food and service have been amazing all the times. I especially enjoyed the beef fry, fish(Meen pollichathu, Goan fish fry) and prawn dishes along with Kerala parotta. Kulfi for dessert was literally the cherry on top. My kids too really enjoyed the food. Needless to say we will be going back as we're so happy to have a taste of Malabar in Glasgow. Would highly recommend trying Ashraf's signature dishes if you're looking for some Indian food with authenticity.

Went for dinner with friends- food was superb with an even better service. The menu had dishes that is not seen in the usual Indian restaurants. We had Meen pollichathu (fish roasted in banana leaves), chilli beef and king prawn roast with porotta (a type of flaky flatbread). Would definitely go again

We were in tonight as we noticed the restaraunt being renovated the last few weeks. Food was lovely and had an exceptional time. A highlight for me was a selection of homemade dips and mixed fruit pickle with the poppadoms that you do not get a lot in other restaraunts.

First time to dine at Ashraf's and had a lovely time. Nad and the team were very friendly, hospitable and polite and served us some great food. The focus on Southern Indian dishes was nice to try as lacking in the Southside. Tandoori mango chicken was cooked really well. Recommended! Given 4 stars as a couple oversights with order, appreciating only opened for a week, no issues. We'll be back to try dosas soon. Thanks

Got a menu through the door and decided to try Ashrafs. We will be back again after our experience tonight! The Dahl was flavourful and perfectly spiced, the chicken Nilgiri was fresh with plenty of coriander, and the naan nice and fluffy. Can't remember what my wife ordered but it was flavourful and not swimming in oil like we've had at other places. To top it off, Nadeem and the team were very creative with improvising a chocolate topping for my daughters ice cream. Lovely food, very welcoming, we will be back. Hard to believe it's only been open for 10 days!

Loving the new different menu, chicken 65 and desi cutlets are yum yum. We order here most weekends. Lovely to see new restaurant up n running. X

We get takeaways from Ashraf's on a regular basis and the food is always great. Last night we left it too late and the kitchen had just closed when we arrived. Instead of sending us off empty handed, they checked what they had available and kindly gave us that for free. Great staff and great customer service. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant, now that its opened.

This is my new go to carry out place. I have tried many Indian take always and this is by far the best. Every dish I have had so far had been absolutely amazing. Definetly recommend!
