What is going on with Asda Washington . Used to be a good store. But now..A lot of items out of stock regularly. Today I tried to use my rewards voucher. No such luck. Staff "it not working today" none of the staff had any idea what was going on and I spoke to a few . Could not get to speak to a manager. I will spend the voucher, if I ever get the chance then start shopping somewhere else. No point collecting Asda rewards if you can not spend them . Come on Asda get your act together.

Staff are normally quite helpful & cheery, all but one. Who never greets you when you greet her or acknowledges you when you thank her for her help. Had her a couple of times on basket self checkout now. Thought the 1st time she may of been having a bad day but it continues. So she is just plain rude in my eyes. This happened at 13:30 on 2/6/2024. Some people aren't cut out for customer service Edit.. Had some items approved by her again today & the same again. Her name is Maureen

It would be great if shopping baskets were put at all entrances to the store. Also there are always delivery carts blocking the aisles and it's difficult to get to products.

Haven't been here for years since working in Washington and pleasantly surprised. Good range of food and drink at reasonable prices and bought some Christmas pressies in the clothing department. Not many actual cashiers as encouraging you to self check out which I don't mind but my aunt did!

I do delivery for one of delivery company and on the last couple of weeks things started to get worse at the pick up section at Asda Washington. One of the staff, her name is Sarah is very rude and arrogant with the drivers. We are left waiting outside for more than half an hour.We knock on the door, ring the door bell and even the number that is posted on the door and they do not bother to answer, although we can hear them in making lots of noises, laughing and ignoring us.Some of them are outside smoking cigarette after cigarette and completely ignoring us,although they do work at the Delivery Area.Your employee, Sarah answers the door nervous, shouting at us,does not even bother to check the name order and number, and closes the door saying that is not ready. How can she know that if she has not checked the order,to see if is ready,if is in the process of being picked or not.We lose our time standing there to wait for the orders, and worse, the costumers for who we have to deliver are texting us asking how long is going to take to have their order delivered, when they placed the order hours ago.Is a complete lack of respect towards us as drivers and towards your costumers.Excuses after excuses, and it takes only few seconds for them to take the orders gun and check the order. But time to sit outside smoking continuously is plenty. And embracing for Asda as a business is to see their employees sitting on the pavement in front of the costumers who pass by to get into Asda and smoking. And most of them are women. And all this time we are waiting, knocking again and again on the door to see if someone comes out,and all we can hear is shouting from inside " 2 minutes" which goes to mire than 10 -15 min. Most of us end up cancelling the orders as is excessive waiting time.I really hope this problem will be sorted as soon as possible as is not good for us,drivers and your costumers.Thank you

Frankly, this place is the stuff of nightmares, and I say that as a Washington resident and regular shopper. Their stock control is appalling; can't remember ever getting everything I needed in one shop. Luckily, there is a Sainsburys within a couple of minutes walk to top up on the things that are inevitably out of stock. This was also one of, if not the first store to apparently disregard all.of the COVID-19 precautions. Whilst Sainsbury's still monitor numbers of shoppers and restrict access, this seems to be a free for all with no restrictions or any effort in regard to social distancing, not that the patrons ever followed the one way system anyway even at the peak. Price wise, they are still OK, but I've now switched to click and collect and the stress of being in store in the current climate is too much. This service is great except the aforementioned poor stock control meaning regular returns of substituted items that aren't welcome. I'd suggest avoiding the in store experience unless unavoidable. I hugely admire the staff who have to deal with the walking dead customers and made worse by appalling stock availability. If you are nervous about coronavirus, dont even think about visiting. To summarise, I think this remains the best value:quality supermarket but not sure its worth the hassle... Wouldn't come anywhere near the place if it wasnt on my doorstep... Staff are great though and will do anything they can to help, just a shame they are hindered by appalling protocols and (lack of) stock availability. Update July 23: I still stand by all of the above. If anything stock control is worse. They also seem to be becoming a limited range store with more and more products on their website but not on shelves. If you want to go to Asda and you can, go to Boldon instead. Update Oct 23. Was speaking to staff member today who confirmed a number of products aren't stocked here and are only at 'larger stores'. Whilst this branch may not be on the same scale as Boldon or the Metrocentre, it certainly can't be described as small so I find this surprising.

Visit every Thursday evening for a weekly family shop. Lack of staffed tills is usually an issue. 18.45 today, 1 till manned & queue up the aisle. Staff manning empty self service checkout area when an extra manned till would have provided better customer service. Not everyone wants to use self service tills, especially with a big shop. Asked a member of staff if another till could be manned to ease the queue - the staff member did kindly ask but nothing changed. Today is not the first time it's happened, regular occurance with queues at tills & no staff manning them. Staff often milling around self service areas rather than rectifying the issue & putting the customers first.

Don't know who the lady with the long ginger hair on checkout thinks she is lying to another member of staff saying my fiancé was going round in circles on rollerblades around the checkout when he WASNT, we did our entire shop and were leaving, bearing in mind all the other members of staff were nice and spoke to us about general shopping. Then the lady with long ginger hair started shouting so loudly with another member of staff (the woman with very short hair near the doors), at my fiance 2 on 1 when he was trying to go through the exit, following him to the exit and being cheeky saying 'byeee' in a mocking tone at us. Worse Asda I've ever been too, prices are good however the staff are sadly not, got spoken down not 1 yet 2 staff members, while buying items needing ID they requested it in a rude tone, then having the shared brain cell to even mention about the age of who I am ! OUT IN PUBLIC ! They are certain things I won't tolerate being mentioned out in public places, age is just one of those things that should never be shared along with addresses, must say this Washington Galleries including Asda have lost another customer today, they need a full training course followed by mental health understanding, clearly staff have narcissistic personality issues. Even in this heat, its no excuse to be rude, absolutely disgusting behaviour, they use to have lovely staff till this year, sad times. 1 out of 5 stars, would be negative -5, depressing Google Maps does not have that option. Leaving this review for others to understand, keep personal infomation to yourself, tired of staff being rude and saying "you look under 25" even though that's just one of the many flaws while being loud and trying to be proud just to impress a colleague, don't care how I'm looking, could be a straight up oldie or a young-un, keep it to yourself, that simple :|

Asda has been upgraded with less manned check outs and more self service check outs and self scanning, my only criticism is on busy times the queues are in the food isles and in these very difficult times makes it very difficult to self distance, also as a non smoker find that you have to go through a wall of cigarette smokers to get into and exit the store which is not very healthy hence a 3 star rating

I visited Asda Washington on Friday 26th June and was appalled at the amount of customers in the store, hardly any 2 metre social distancing taking place at all, and very few face masks worn.. which left me feeling very vulnerable. I witnessed many customers and staff NOT adhering to the one way system which is clearly marked with arrows on the floor. I feel Asda is not adhering to the rules set out by the government, which have been put place to protect individuals, and therefore, putting their customers and staff at risk. Although it is down to us as individuals to protect ourselves and others, from the terrible virus which is Covid 19, I strongly feel Asda needs to review the procedures they have put in place, and monitor the situation with a little more care and consideration for the health and safety of their customers and staff.

Handed in a prescription today at Asda pharmacy. I said I was waiting for it and it took 45 minutes to prepare. Absolute disgrace. I think the staff should at least warn people how long the wait is if they say they're going to wait. Never used this pharmacy before & won't use it again!.

don't go to the cafe...very expensive and not good value at all...would never use the place again...we paid 5 pounds for steak and ale pie mashed potato and peas and potato was cold and portion was tiny...my granddaughters lasagne was straight out the freezer and was nearly as big as an adult portion.very poor value for the money wouldn't visit again.supermarkets can do better meals than that because Morrisons aren't to bad for the money....

Asda cafe bad experience. Ordered all day breakfast @ 1pm and they were out of bacon and got told they were out of scrambled egg??? Couldn't be bothered to make it for me and would only do fried eggs. It was a bit early to be running out of bacon. Got another sausage instead of bacon and I was give a cheap sausage instead of the butchers select ones you are supposed to get.

The 3 peice ladies pyjamas set, I was very disappointed with. The pyjama set shrank on 30 wash. The dressing gown would fit my granddaughter who is 7 years old better. Bought as a birthday present for Me, not happy with it .

Ordered a meal tonight from cinnamon kitchen it's the worst bhaji and chicken madras I've ever had neither had any taste and the curry just tasted like hot madras powder had been poured into the sauce it was awful and I won't be going there again . So disappointing. I'm wondering if it is under new management as its cash only now which isn't good as most people don't carry cash. If there standard gets any worse I can't see it lasting long.
