Asda St. Matthews Superstore in Walsall

Abysmal. Never had a full delivery always items out of stock. Subs are a joke. They've just delivered my shopping at 5 when I ordered it between 6-7 good job neighbour is in and of course no one is picking up the phone. Wished I could pick a different store for my delivery

Have staff on their feet constantly, I asked one who had a limp if they're allowed to sit down and they told us they're not allowed to, ridiculous that this happens in America, no need to bring it to the UK.

Please can you review your management, team building and overall running of the store. In regard to Staff - not all, but some could improve on their customer service. In regard to overall store impression/ cleanliness- l aisles are cluttered. And there are still many items of food that the date has expired. The store is obviously smaller. And it is a big shame that Cinnabon is now closed. In regard to many homeless now sitting outside, which can deter some people from entering the store, can anything be done? It would be nice to hear back.

Horrendous store. Everything everywhere and no help from staff, who were more of a hindrance. The ones who weren’t a hindrance were full of attitude. Customer service costs nothing and is the basic you’d expect in retail. Won’t be returning to this particular store at all. Sickening experience nobody should have to endure

My experience this last few months is horrible, proud and haughty customers service personnel, horrible manager no human sympathy or respect, the bakery used to sell the best sandwich loaf until recently theirs is now like that of Morrisons horrible they changed the recipe and I won’t be bothering myself striving to get theirs, that sandwich bread is one of the item that kept bringing me back to Asda at Matthew’s now that they have subtly made changes to the quality I won’t be bother again. As if they care! You force customers to go to the self serving tills and order us around like your children it’s too much of you all

Loved shopping here until yesterday evening (12.03.2024 at 6:54pm). I’d finished paying for my items and walked past the customer services desk to make an exit, immediately the two blonde girls behind the counter stared at me in a very rude manner, which I found extremely wierd. My nephew then picked up a pack of football stickers he wanted near the desk so I thought I’d pay for these at the customer services desk. I greeted the lady serving there was no response, I then thanked her yet again no response with a “idgaf” attitude expression. It made me feel uncomfortable and really threw me off how people working at customer services lacks basic customer service skills. Staff training needed. #RudeStaff

Always open late . People have to wait outside in cold

We avoid this supermarket now along with other Asda stores after years using Asda myself and my husband use Tesco or Aldi now. My husband pointed out to this woman with the dyed hair works on the morning in walsall on basket self scan duty that was a fault on scanning machine when he tried to scan food from basket. This woman basically accusing my husband of been a thief

Rude staff always miserable, at the self check out had the security hover over me so I told him to listen, "I make more more than your whole family put together on minimum wage my jacket cost more than your month wage". cause he thinks being a bully will get him far in life. Bought Lemon and fruit pancakes from the bakery on 30 November 2023. Only had a small bite. The lemon flavour is overpowering. The whole bread bin smelled of lemon. I. Ate a bite and my taste buds and tongue were numb. 2 hours later I can still taste the lemon in my mouth and throat. If this is the recipe you need change it. It's absolutely rank.

The older staff from self checkout- older, short blond hair women - is just rude. Par example - She stoped me and my husband when we paid and want leave to check items in my basket - self- check till don’t needed check. Why? Because she thought we bought too much to price what we paid ( we bought a few items with yellow stickers). And ok I can understand she want check - her job - but she should TELL something- but she just stopped my basket and started checking items, she maked a mess in my bags, items INSANE! no explanation, nothing - just started looked my items. This person many times was rude, not only for us. Second worse worker - his name D… ( older, plus size men) - even stuff have problem with him. He’s rude, they now keep him in pizza counter - but is all times problems. Or he not working and he leave from work when no one knows.. Or he make big pizza almost empty - he use same amount stuff for big pizza like for small one. Offten dirty shop. Incorrect prices etc.

6th November we ordered a grocery order of £61 it got cancelled due to a mistake with their delivery drivers, we were told we would have a refund in up to 2 hours so we reordered our shopping, next day no refund I phoned up customer services told 3-5 days now 5 days later still no refund, been on phone constantly to customer services, the store manager, emailed payment team twice I get the same copy and pasted email saying it takes 10-14 days which is rubbish I've never had a refund take longer then 5 days, spoke to my bank who confirmed they've never received a refund, now I've asked a few times recently to speak to the store manager again and they're refusing to put me through to him.

Absolutely rubbish not the fact that the staff are rude I went to ask for help and she even didn’t know what to do strugged her shoulders like I’m sorry and service is 0 I hate ordering online from Uber from Asda every time something’s missing no refund and worst part always give me out of date food absolutely vile how can you even stoop to this level of customer service weather online or in store rubbish I wouldn’t even give one star none if I could

I ordered via express delivery today...driver bought wrong order out..asdas way of sorting this out was not trying to re deliver the correct order...but to issue a refund which will now take 3 to 5 working days for me to receive that refund...I have nomore cash left to reorder from anywhere else!! So now I have to try and borrow money from family!! Disgusting service!!

My experience in asda were negative for couple of times. One of the wouldn't answer at all when tried to ask him. Another staff at the till was behaving rude. It shouldn't be like this.

Half the crisps are with the cereals, the sugar is inexplicably with the eggs (and not the tea and coffee). I don't know what on earth is going on at the back of the store any more. It's becoming like the dark days again when they put in the new units at the front and the layout changed every other week. Lovely staff!

They have decent 'free from' and world food aisles. I just wished they stocked up on more asda brand Croissants, I love those. Good amount of parking space, reasonable parking time, and multifloor parking help shield cars from harsh weather like rain, intense sunlight, and snow. I also like that they have recently put doors on all the fridge in the aisles with fridges keeping the meat, fish and dairy products at the right temp now.

there collect service is quick and easy this store seems to be way better then the grubby bloxwich store which i will never go to again but if i need a few items i will use this store for there click and collect

Don't normally review rude staff as never encountered rudeness of this calibre of this sort before. Particularly rude self scan staff. See, customers waiting for assistance, but choose to ignore and carry on chatting. A woman named Amaarah in particular. Needs to be sacked ASAP. Worst customer service, dusgustinga attitude I've ever encountered, in any supermarket ,with zero professionalism and an air of thinking she's above customers. However, home delivery staff are alwats helpful, polite and cheery at all times. Wilk be sticking to home delivery only. This woman needs to be sacked and re trained in professionalism, manners and customer service. Disgusting

Better prices for some indoor prepared products as compared to Bloxwich Asda. Well presentation of items and having more options for muslim & jew community food.

I’m fed up with the poor service on delivery, 23 out of my 57 of my items were missing yet she said everything was checked off!! Well Clearly it wasn’t not the first time I’ve had issues with the delivery from Asda. I can’t walk round a supermarket anymore which is why I have a delivery. Half the time I get subs half the time I’m send silly subs it’s not great at all. I’ve had to now wait up to 48 for someone to now get in contact with me and then wait for a refund. I’ve now got to send my hubby to Morrisons to get the items missing whist I wait for a refund. Also customer service is not helpful either she couldn’t understand half the stuff I was saying very poor service Asda I’ve been a loyal customer for around 18 years now! Think I might move to Aldi or Morrisons Asda is just as expensive as everywhere else now anyway

Many staff at this branch are very polite and helpful however, I had a problem with my transaction at self checkout and I went unnoticed for a long period of time and the issue was not resolved. I then manage to overcome the problem myself.

The staff at self checkout are rude and do not know how to deal with Costomer especially the 2 Asian lady’s . As that can put them in danger .I’m just watching out for them so calm down and don’t judge the Customers. Also this incident happend yesterday at around afternoon 2pm . And another a year ago They just mistake on what Customers said straight away they assume that they Wer picking on them .If I don’t like it then What makes u think others will. Stop it or u will knock in the wrong door.

Would like to rate 0 if I could. I understand that prices are going up but when you put a price, stick to it..What the whole world has come to. Put a price at 65p per kg and then came up as £1/kg on till. When questioned, the gentleman who served tried to argue that item is priced as individual, I mean really.....65p for 1 onion. After explaining for 20th time, he understood and then he took the label off and said Oh sorry you have to buy it for £1/kg. I mean no honesty left at all..Pack of liars who can't stick to what is being advertised by their own shop. Happens too often at this place.. Never would go to this store again..and those who visit please watch closely what you pick and what you pay. Very poor customer service and ripping off customers..

First time i have done ahopping online. On 10 itames just two was corrent. All the rest or chipper versior or completly diffetent. Was charger normaly for aome cheapers product. Also after tgat on my own i have to check and swap this products from shelf. Service so bad

Today we were attending a children's birthday party at Frankie And Lolas at Asda St. Matthews. We arrived just before 10:30 for a party starting at 10:30 (Frankie And Lolas opening time). A lady was waiting with her infant child asleep in their pushchair at the first floor entrance (Frankie And Lolas entrance), the doors still had the security shutters down. The lady spoke to a member of staff outside asking when the doors would open, The member of staff stated "sometimes now, sometimes 11 but the doors downstairs are open". The lady then rang Asda and they stated that they would open the door for her at 10:30. A different member of staff in a high vis jacket walked past the internal side of the shutter and stated he wouldn't open it until 11, another phone call took place where she was again assured that the doors would be opened for her and we saw the same gentleman walk past again and not open the doors. We spoke to another member of staff outside who just arrived for her shift, she told us the door won't open until 11, the lady mentioned the pushchair situation, She asked "Is the lift not working....again?", which it wasn't, the member of staff said the lady and infant in pushchair would have to walk down the car ramp (worrying) or carry the pushchair down the twisting flight of stairs (worrying). In the end we offered to help her carry her pushchair down the stairs but it should not have been necessary. The thing that makes the whole situation more irritating is that: Asda (ground floor) opens at 11:00 on Sundays but the doors open at 10:30. Frankie And Lolas (first floor) opens at 10:30 on Sundays but the doors open at 11:00. If the lift had been working and there was a safe way for her to get down to the ground floor then it wouldn't have been an issue. If she had been a disabled customer rather than a woman with a pushchair no one would have suggested her going down the car ramp. I am leaving this review on Asda's page as it felt store related rather than Frankie And Lolas issue. We had a really enjoyable time at Frankie And Lolas but the customer service for the woman with the pushchair really didn't put her welfare or the welfare of her child first.

My review is based on the pharmacy only. I made a call today to query a prescription and was passed to 3 different people without being told or advised then shouted at by who I believe was the resident pharmacist. Very unprofessional. In the last few years this pharmacy has declined rapidly.

Really good prices and very lovely staff. Excellent standards of food, service. Would recommend

Been a loyal customer for several years now. Great prices, plenty of choice... This store in particular is my favorite, plenty of parking and friendly staff. However, I tried their Click and Collect service for the first time last week, and it was appalling. I needed some groceries urgently and placed a same-day order paying paying GBP 1.50 for my slot between 1-2 pm. The plan was to collect during my lunch break. I got to the designated parking area a little after 1pm and checked-in on my app as per the instructions displayed at the parking lot as well as on my email/app. However, I had to wait 90 mins before I got my shopping. I wasted a whole lot of time and wasted money for that slot, when I could've done my shopping myself thrice or more during that time. During those 90 mins, I rang their customer service twice and all they could advise was that I go inside the store and check with their staff, which I did both times. I spoke to 3 different security staff during that time, but to no avail. Finally, I saw a staff member bring out groceries for another customer who had been waiting behind me for quite a while, and I checked with her. She asked me why I hadn't rung the number with the extension displayed in the parking lot. As per the instructions in parking lot, we could either check in through our app, through our email or by calling the extension. The staff member said the app could sometimes be glitchy, so it's best to call the number. I argued there was no reason for me to just ASSUME the app would be glitchy, so it never occurred to me to ring the number. She seemed annoyed and said she'd only just started her shift. Neither the customer service agents nor the 3 security staff I checked with mentioned anything about calling the extension! The lady then brought out my groceries from storage, left the trolley at the entrance, and walked away still annoyed. I had to wheel the cart myself to my car, which I was fine doing, but that's clearly not the service I was promised. Here are a few humble suggestions for the Management: 1. The app seems to be working perfectly fine, but clearly it's not. So, please have your IT team look at it ASAP. 2. Please make sure your instructions at the parking lot are clearer. Maybe I'm a little dense, but there will surely be plenty more people out there like me who would not think to call the extension right away, especially if they think checking in to the app is all that's required. 3. Please ensure your customer service/floor staff are more knowledgeable about your Click and Collect process/issues. If any of the 5 people I spoke to had instructed me to call the extension, I wouldn't have had to wait in your parking lot for 90 mins for what should have been a 10 minute process. 4. The staff here have always been amazing, but the lady who brought out my shopping could really use a change in her attitude. Thank You!

Shelves are all empty in the bakery aisle if you go in the morning and nothing is in stock! Meanwhile staff are standing around in little groups discussing their hours and how they hate their managers!! Its ridicilous no one will help you if you can't find anything. Lovely lady named Amreen was the only one who helped me

Very bad experience today in asda walsall the staff are working in milk section keep asking them bring the milk every one saying its not my job someone else will asda management let us know how we customers find out whose job is it and who's not.thanks

Absolutely everything you could need from a supermarket. Huge meat counter, large aisles of fruit and veg, as well as instore pizza place and desserts. I also print out photos when needed at the max spielman booth.

ASDA is a rip-off. Radox shower gel £2:25 went to poundland got Got same product for £1.50 . so shop around. These big supermarkets are ripping us all off. When Walmart owned ASDA it was a lot cheaper. No it's on by greedy ceo's

Very bad experience with this car park at Asda. Somebody damaged my vehicle and gone from road collision while i was doing grociery shopping with my baby. Asda seems dont care about customers at all. cctv not working and i have to repair car by myself as i dont know reg number of the person who have done damage to my vehicle to report to police and car insurance...looks like Asda not owning the car park and they even dont know who owning car park

Went to return a toy that was faulty and as I purchased it from the Wolverhampton store, I was told that I had to return it to the same store. The manager, Nahaim was rude and unprofessional and was aggressive stating that he would not use his discretion. I have never known asda state that I need to return item to the store it was purchased. SHOCKING service and attempted to complain to customer service, no response. the manager needs training on policy and customer service and as a longstanding customer I will not be returning as this was a £10 item that has made me loose all confidence in what I thought was a household name. absolutely disgusting customer service and NAHAIM needs to attend further training, even staff stated that he is know for providing a poor experience to customers and there is a pattern of rude behaviour to customers. I advise people to never visit this store.

I’m giving this 1 star, due to the £20 beef joint I’ve just bought, £20 worth of gristle, never again, I think it’s come off a 20 year old horse. Rough to say the least!.

The new asdahorrible, the removal of the cafe was stupid and replaced by KFC who wants KFC before shopping? We used to come here early to have breakfast before shopping. The old layout was fine. Who wanted a pizza place and kfc in a super market?

I just been in the store and I have to say it was absolutely freezing it was warmer outside.

I don't like the new look at all. I much prefer the old one. There's nothing on the first floor. There use to be a cafe where you could relax and have a coffee before doing the shopping. I'm not impressed by the clothes range as there's very little choice for men, a couple of aisles and that's it. No matter how many times I go there I keep walking round in circles looking for the items I want

Everything avaliable here, the store is extended, I enjoyed my time shopping however it was very cold 🥶. There is parking here ( free for customers)

Good prices, terrible checkout system for early morning shoppers - self-service tills only, which are constantly telling you that you've done something wrong, so that you leave the store feeling like a child sent to the naughty step.

Usually I don't do my groceries at Asda,because it's far from home,but I really like going there whenever I can, because they have a variety of products and good offers and discounts. The reason for my 1 star is that every time I buy something that's on offer, once I am at the till I have to check every item to see if really the discount is applied or not. This month I've been three times there and every time the discounts weren't passed at the till. (around 10 pound each time). So if you buy something, make sure they charge you the right price.

Fabulous… I always have my shopping delivered from this store. I just wanted to say a great big thank you to delivery driver Matthew, he is always so happy and friendly and always helps pass every item of shopping over which makes a big difference. Wonderful guy! Thank You

Great as usual, not much room for improvements

Review re: Sbarro: No criticism of Asda. However, I have visited Sbarro several times now. The broccoli & cheese stromboli was very tasty but I found the veg pizza slice to be below average, it was not fresh as it's pre-cooked and is simply kept warm as well as being overpriced and no bigger than any other slice of pizza you can easily purchase elsewhere. I will continue to purchase my pizza from Veggie Fellas on Caldmore Road where the pizzas are always cooked fresh, always hot and service always second to none. In contrast, even when there is no queue at Sbarro and you're the only customer there, the staff will glance over at you and can see you're waiting to be served but will ignore you and wait for another staff member to come over and serve you instead, keeping you waiting several minutes. As as a result, I will not be making any more purchases from this place.

Easy parking lots of space easy to get round

Good place to find fresh food,fish,bread,pizza etc. Amazing sausage sandwiches,would strongly recommended for weekly shopping,helpful staff so overall a very good shop

Visit there quite often, we don't use it to do a big shop because we have a asda closer to home. Mainly we go to look at the clothing section witch is a very good size and they have a good selection of kids clothing and school uniforms, also free parking helps but some time can be a bit of a nightmare to find a parking space.

trolly was missing a wheel and dropped all my tea bags down the drain, overall very fantastic, i was able to do my daily shop on tea mugs and tea bags in under 5 hours.

Good supermarket for quick shopping.

The "renewed" Asda is a big fridge now. Very cold inside and air conditioning blowing straight on you making you ill: headache. Entering from hot / warm outside to cold and then leaving to hot / warm again. Vegetable area or the fridges are too cold to do comfortable shopping. Additional I am not sure how is now but before shop renewal about 20% of the products prices was wrong (of course was higher than prices on the shelves) so always check the price at the counter! And I don't like the camera's screens on the self service treating me like a thief?

They don't enforce the mask rule when they ask are you mask exemption costumer says no and they dont care for it they still let them in lidl tesco aldi do its for our protection as well as theirs so they should enforce it

I visited ASDA today and I lost my phone. One of your staff members handed in my phone at customer services. Two of my bank cards were in my phone case, along with some money. When I had my phone back nothing was missing. I tried to give a goodwill gesture to your staff member, Mujtabah, however he would not accept it. Thank you Mujtabah for your honesty - it would be nice for Asda to reward him with a bonus.

Last time I went, there was some berk riding round on an electric scooter in the store. Greatest security guard ever. The Darlaston one is a tonne better and no longer bother with Walsall as its a total dump.

Conned me on an Uber Eats order. I didn't receive some of my items, so I checked the receipt where it now said, "Sold out. Do not replace." But because they didn't send or replace these items, my order was suddenly below the £15 minimum, so they charged me an additional 'Small order fee'! And 'due to unprecedented demand' according to the answering machine, I can't contact them by phone, and there's no way to easily contact them online either, so I can't even get this resolved. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
