Asda Gosforth Bad Service at Asda Gosforth Kiosk Very bad customer service by the staff at the kiosk on the right hand side upon entering the store. The lady at the kiosk should be fired as rude responses to questions about collections and returns and bad attitude and not helpful at all. The customer service is gone downhill. Shocking compared to what the previous staff who used to man the kiosk

Now asda is obviously the worst of the supermarkets in late years, however this specific asda has the most abysmal stock I have ever seen, if you're vegetarian you're lucky to be able to get a meals worth of food. Clearly they've released the asda rewards app as a desperate attempt to keep up with all of the other supermarkets, but what is the point in getting "asda pounds" when you can't spend them because you can't get anything you need, and you can't build them up because you can't get anything you need😂

We used to shop regularly at Asda Gosforth when we lived a bit closer and the kids were at local schools so this was the first time we’d been in quite a while since moving. The whole store has really gone downhill. Outside areas are poorly maintained and litter strewn. Inside is drab and the state of the aisles and shelves quite shocking. Low stock levels are common these days in most supermarkets but no excuse for such untidiness. Made for a very unpleasant shopping experience. Staff used to be friendly and upbeat. Don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes but the atmosphere is dour. Come on Asda, give the place and people a bit of much needed tlc.

Spent ages in check-out queue as only 2 tills working again. Then one girl left as she'd finished her shift so one till. About 12 people with full shopping baskets waiting at 1 till. People went looking for management in the end to complain, think 2 people just walked out leaving their baskets standing. This becoming too regular, going to have to start using Tesco at Kingstone park instead.

My partner and myself queued for 5 minutes at the "pizza cafe" at Asdas Gosforth store this afternoon. . . And when the assistant asked us what we would like we were told we would have to wait 30 minutes for pizza and chips. I got the impression that he would just rather not serve us. Whilst queuing he and the female assistant had an altercation and then there was an issue with an elderly lady who wasn't happy with the fish she'd been given. We decided to complain at the customer service desk (the staff here were extremely helpful) and the elderly lady was there complaining too. The cafe seemed very sparse for prepared food although the signage promised several different dishes and options. We'd travelled from Edinburgh to Newcastle for work and are used to much better service from Asda associated cafes.

Shelves generally well stocked, have most of the things you need. Although store layout could do with some improvement as it isn't clear where things are and locations don't all make sense. For example I saw pet food in the foreign food section, which feels like an unfortunate accident waiting to happen. Sushi and bakery are good, veg is OK quality. Pharmacy are polite and helpful, but can be a queue at times. If you're just in for a few bits and doing self service with no bags then is fine. Have had a few occasions of staff being too slow, and sometimes rude. Generally helpful having a big supermarket at this location but sadly you're probably better off avoiding.

We only use this store as it is closest to our home but in future we will start going further afar as this store is a shambles. The shop itself is filthy, floors are disgusting and look like they never see a clean. There are never any produce available , constantly empty fruit and veg aisles and lack of meats and fish. The last time we visited we found lots of beetles / eggs all over the fresh basil plants, we checked a number of plants to find every single one was the same, we found a member of staff who was working on that aisle at the time and showed her she couldn’t have looked any more uninterested if she tried, she shrugged her shoulders and continued what she was doing. No apologies, no I’ll grab a manager nothing. Really can’t see this store lasting any longer if the state of despair continues! Avoid! racist place! Never been more embarrassed. Here is the whole story on why I felt this way. I am Arab and today I was wearing my scarf yes… the hijab, so earlier on I went to the Asda with my husband. We were going to get some food and basic needs for the family (we have 4 kids) I was using the scanner as I thought it was easier but then my budget went way over so I tried to remove some stuff off ,for example I took off my chicken pot noodle. But then when me and my husband were walking out and something had happened to the security guards machine saying I still had this item but I didn’t pay for it. Which also I didn’t even have with me, this was so humiliating because the staff was pushing me and my husband. They were calling me names like “disgusting thief” and they were telling my husband I was one too. I love wearing the hijab because it hides the fact that I recently had chemotherapy. As soon as I got home I was in tears because this was so cruel and I have now been banned permanently. Earlier on my 2 daughters had rung up about this incident after I had told them, but the man we were calling was totally unaware of this situation, I don’t blame him or anything but when we hung up he had a quiet laugh. How could you be anymore unprofessional than that. I shop here all the time because it’s way easier, after all it’s right beside my home. I am hurt about all of the horrible words the staff had said to me including the manager who was not helpful at all and was also calling me a thief.Thank you for reading and also shame on you Asda, I’m very disappointed

The majority of staff in this store need (re)training on Customer Service. The Customer Service in this store is quite pathetic. The latest one on Sunday 3 Sept 2023 was when I queried the price of Matterson Smoked Sausage. Showing £1.75 online, but £2.25 in store. I asked a staff member how this was so and he JUST SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS and said "It's not my department, there is nothing I can do about it." I have no idea how many other items are incorrectly priced, but it MUST be someone's job to check these things. BUT, if the staff can't be bothered, then why should your customers? Time to go shopping at Tesco or Morrison's in future, I think.

Scan and go... planned during lunch break at work before meetings. However when paying i had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come and scan a few items. I made honest mistake I had picked up 5 for £4 baby food, which is tricky they are on bottom shelf and I mis scanned one of them; though there was the 5 jars just a pasta rather than potato one, just a thought of moving them higher would be able to see and less chance of mistaking, particularly in nature of baby food where some have ongoing recovery. However a full trolley re scan defeats the bit of being quick and having to wait 15 mins for staff. More staff clearly needed, a que of people still waiting. I had no choice but to leave the shop due to meeting and will be going to tescos later. This Is the first time scan and go have been working on several recent visits. Canteen staff continued to serve customers, banging door and loudly calling across the café, cackling away throughout the 2 minutes silence. The self-service tills were completely unnecessarily shut off a full 10 minutes before 11am causing large queues of irate shoppers who had no wish to observe the silence standing in a busy shop (non-self service tills continued to 10 seconds before 11am); several customers asked for management to override the stupid decision, but they failed to appear. Incompetent staff. The cashier who served me failed to deactivate the security strips on items I bought so naturally I had the embarrassment of the buzzers going off at the door. I hadn't taken a copy of my receipt and therefore had to go back to the cashier to request it. Bear in mind this would have been within a couple of minutes, the cashier refused to acknowledge that she had served me and gave a rotten attitude about it, refusing to help me so I had to get the manager involved to log into the system to prove A: yes I paid for those items and B: yes it was at that useless cashier's till. What was meant to be a simple in and out shop turned into a frustrating waste of my time.

Pharmacist incompetent and unhelpful. Would not sell me over the counter medicine (some eye drops) I asked for, because apparently she knew better than my doc. 👎

Leaving one star because it wont allow me to leave zero!! Absolutely disgusted with my click and collect from asda gosforth tonight! I had to wash each item in 3 different bags of groceries - one had fresh orange leaked over everything, the other had a burst pack of watermelon with the juice from it all over everything and the third had a burst actimel yoghurt over everything. Not only that the actimel yoghurts had clearly fallen on the ground as none were in the cardboard packaging and each bottle had what looked like black muck all over them! Numerous boxes of freezer foods were burst and to top it off 7 items that i had been charged for were missing!! Will not be using this service again!! Disgraceful.

Having not been out for 4 days I decided I would go to asda gosforth, o m g I felt suffocated when I got out the shop, yes they were asking you to clean your hands on entering but that was it, there was numerous customers un masked or partially masked but the worst was the aisles were blocked with food items waiting to be shelved therefore hindering customer flow so not a good time even for the staff safety to be filling shelves it would be safer done when the store was closed. There was no social distancing in store and I felt unsafe and because of that I wont be visiting the shop again during lockdown, come on asda restrict customers in store for your customers and staff safety

Social distancing is very poor not just shoppers but also staff that do the online shop, many a time my daughter had to speak up about social distance it's all well in good wearing a mask & hand stanatising, but distancing is just as inportant & staff are just as bad as shoppers you just have to ask people if you can get in, don't just barg in & not tell people And this is why we still have this virus, no social distance

Lots of parking space and good selection in store. 8 fuel pumps with low wait times except in the most busy hours.

Sort your advertising out ive been sat since 2 am waiting for the pharmacy to open at 6 as advertised. Tried ringing the store but you aren't taking calls walk the 20 min to get the desperate for pain relief to find you open at 8. This is ridiculous. Its not hard to put accurate opening times up.

Should go for groceries and wide range of spirits. Bakery shop and cafe is a plus point. Its amazing to see wide range clothes in an affordable price. Loved to buy miniature of Glenfiddich and JD for a gift. Grooming section is also well maintained with lots of offers. If going from city center can go by metro if not taking car.

Had a few bad experiences recently with Tesco from staff and manager so decided to go elsewhere, went to Asda Gosforth today wow what a difference and great pleasurable experience staff a hell of alot nicer way it should be and be going there from now on , thing is specially with the situation at hand at the moment ,have a negative attitude when your in you then go out being negative, straight away the staff member was pleasant and friendly was positive already ,experience inside was positive, I then cane out positive and saying thank you and appreciate you to the staff ,as makes such a big difference not only to the staff but yourself and others ,going on abit but both me and my wife have anxiety badly and the difference it makes to us is a worlds difference instead of feeling angry upset and shaky we came out really happy and positive.

The shop and the staff are great. Pretty poor tho when we’ve all queued to get in, which isn’t a problem, but then the security guard son rocks up to chat to his dad and is waved straight into the store....ahead of everyone in the queue, bang out of order!!

Done shopping today and some things out of stock which is understandable at this time, the thing that really has annoyed me is the fact the customers can not follow arrows marked clearly on the floor ,they are putting everyone at risk ,how hard is it to follow directions!!!

The people were nice to me which is contrary to the other reviews. It is a Burger King in a train station so set your expectations in advance. The whopper tasted like a whopper. No complaints.

I go here every Friday morning after my appointment around 9:30am. I order an egg mcmuffin and 2 hashbrowns, the hashbrowns are always crisp and hot and the muffin is also fresh. I travel for work in the week so I visit multiple McDonalds and this is the only one where I never have a bad experience. Staff are also fast and friendly also. I'm equal distance to this one and Silverlink but I find this one to be much better quality. Keep it up!

Never leave bad reviews. The chicken smelt fishy? The texture was soggy and wet, and taste like the chicken has been left out for days. Would not recommend this experience, what a waste of chicken, I’m thinking about going vegan.
