Aromat-kuchni in Slough

Used to live in slough back in 2013. I thought this review was posted but found out in 2021 that its it was still in draft so here it goes lol. As a nepali, I never had a polish food before. One day i was just exploring slough, saw a polish restaurant and decided to try my very first polish meal and it certainly did not disappoint. Portions were big and colorful, it was well seasoned, very tasty with polish beer. I would go once a week there. I still remember after all these years. I would love to go there again.

Beautiful food and beautiful people. The food was like home made, honest and uncomplicated and no nonsense.

Great people working there, atmosphere like in Slavic country. Great and my goodnes me cheap food. Please just keep it like that.:)

Just happened upon this place as we were scrambling to get a flight out of Heathrow. Very delicious food. I think between the 7 of us we ordered a good portion of the menu. Everything was delicious!!!! Speedy service and friendly smiles. I would eat here again.

Wholesome, comforting and delicious. This was just what my weary family needed after stressing over getting back home to the US during the Coronavirus scare. This meal reminded us that our humanity is based on these beautiful moments of sharing a hearty meal with those you love.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a work colleague as it was close to our hotel and different to what we would normally go for (trip on the train to Windsor and pick an eatery). We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our meal. It was reasonably priced and the service was excellent. I had Kalduny for starter, Calf's Liver (Chef Special) for mains and Honeycomb Cheesecake for desert. All good! We will return!

I love the food from this restaurant, they have good service and the staff are so helpful. I' ve been here for two times, it is amazing!

Decided to try this place and were not disappointed. The interior looks a bit like an old fashioned restaurant but there is nothing old fashioned about the food. Huge portions and food was absolutely delicious, struggled to finish what we ordered but managed it. Will be back and highly recommend this place.

I was visiting this place seweral times while I was staying in Slough. Each time I was amazed by portion size and few times I didn't even manage to eat whole meal. Served food is delicious, fresh and always served with smile. Aromat Kuchni od very clean. Manager or one od waitres were welcoming me with a small talk about my day and proposing what's the day special. This is polish cousine and to be honest, restaurants on Poland should learn from Aromat Kuchni how to cook, serve and please their guest. I recommend this place to you if you are hungry while visiting Slough, you will not find any better place to eat for sure!!

We have visited Aromat many times. The place is hard to find first time because the entrance is on the side and the appearance from the main road is that it is closed. We always have their ‘soup of the day’ and never had the same soup twice and never been disappointed. The clientele are mainly Polish but we are seeing more people from other backgrounds giving it a go. A good selection of traditional Polish cuisine. I normally go for the large portion of ribs with mashed potato, you can have chips, or the potato rosti with goulash. The side plates of salad that comes with most dishes is really tasty. As before you never leave hungry and they give ‘doggie bags’. Really good value for money.

Whilst visiting slough this weekend, I planned to surprise my wife with a meal out. My wife is polish so knows about authentic polish food. An boy did it not dissapoint. We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains along with a kids meal. My wife was genuinely in tears because the whole place and food reminded her of home! The general noise of polish people chatting, the ambience and food was so warning to her native land.

Been here twice, very good food, friendly staff, clean restaurant. I tried the salmon with rice and boiled vegetables and it was very good, my husband had pork ribs and he loved it.

Having booked in to hotel nearby and getting fed up of the food we set out to find something wholesome and checked Trip Advisor.

I give them 3/5 because my food wasn't so delicious but my boyfriend and our friend enjoyed. I'm not going to be back there.

We have visited Aromat about 7 times now and always had an excellent meal. The restaurant is slightly out of town and maybe hard to find first time. Inside has a Swiss mountain lodge feel with a lot of wood on show. The menu is not big but there is definitely something for everyone. We normally start with their soup of the day, always different. My favourite main is a large rack of ribs. Today I had the goulash rosti which came with a lovely salad. Sevice is friendly and the prices very reasonable.

Amazing restaurant, friendly attentive staff with great selection of fresh cooked authentic Polish Cuisine, great portion sizes & great value. Four of us attended we all tried different dishes which were great, recommend the ham hock knuckle & the chicken skewer, unfortunately the goulash had sold out.

Visited with my fiance- im polish he is british. we tried few polish restaurants in Reading however travelling back from the south decided to give this place a try. it was well worth it!! better than all polish restaurants in Reading.

Visited Aromat with my partner. Good was delicious and portions were of good size. Meat was cooked nicely. Can’t complain enjoyed our evening.

After several visits, where I’d usually had ribs, I thought I’d try the ham hock/knuckle. They were very busy which might account for the 40 wait, but the knuckle was nice and served with fried sauerkraut and chips plus mustard and horseradish. As ever Unvarnished Polish food.

I have visited a restaurant recently with my family. Nice place to eat something tasty from polish cuisine. Big portions,tasty dishes. The only disadvantage is this is small restaurant and at the weekend very busy so please prepare for a waiting in the queue for a long time.

Fab Poilish restaurant which offered home cooked food for very reasonable prices. I had the chicken skewer which provided more than enough to feed my self and a small child. The atmosphere was lovely with quaint decoration. The waitress was very efficient and understaning and delivered everything very quickly. I' d defininately go back here again but unfortunately we live too far away!

My wife and I and a friend had Sunday dinner just before closing time so we had the whole place to ourselves. The pork goulash soup was amazing. He pork main course too. The beef roulade was on the dry side. We had a lovely time. Service was friendly. The beers were good.

Primera visita en más de un año, pero aún así por el precio de 5 estrellas. Teniendo en cuenta lo que realmente pagan por la comida de ella y lo barato las bebidas son yo no sé cómo alguien puede ir mal.

Wonderful rack of ribs with cabbage fries (normally mash but I switched) and cabbage. Enormous. I just about managed the ribs and cabbage but not the fries. Garlic sauce was wonderful and although I ordered chipotle sauce as well it wasn't needed. Phew.

Rodzinny sobotni wypad nadzwyczaj udany. Dzieci zamówiły rybkę w zestawie dziecięcym a my placka po węgiersku i żeberka. Porcje ogromne wręcz nie do przejedzenia. Żeberka pyszne miękkie i doprawione idealnie, surówki widać że robione na miejscu. Placek po węgiersku wyśmienity, wypieczony idealnie a sam gulasz pyszny jak u mojej mamy. Dania super doprawione i nieprzesolone, jak w domu. Nawet dzieci podjadały placka z gulaszem. Uznajemy to za najlepszą polską restaurację w okolicy Slough. Serdecznie dziękujemy za pyszności i przesympatyczną obsługę. Na pewno wrócimy nie raz.

Muy buen restaurante sirve comidas tradicionales polacos. Las porciones son muy grandes y los precios asequibles. Una gran relación calidad-precio. Fui con mi marido y a él le encantó húngara! Altamente recomendado para cualquier persona, especialmente para la gente nueva a la cocina polaca. Gracias Aromat para tomar Kuchni conmigo a Polonia para 1 horas :).

First experience of Polish food for a team lunch with work colleagues. Service was very friendly, informative and prompt. Interior of restaurant is much bigger than it looks from outside. Massive portions of food - unlikely you can eat it all unless you are really hungry. Food tasted great. Will certainly go back.

Been there with family, I've ordered salmon with vegetables and must say that has been prepared perfectly. Not only my dish looked and tasted good. If you want to try a National Polish dishes it's the right place to start. Enjoy!

I came to this place several times and every time I try something new is always a great experience. Food is cooked well and the service is great.I recommend the chicken skewer, the soups and the garlic bread.Everything I tried until now satisfied me! Great quality at reasonable prices.

We were taken there for lunch by our Polish friends, who are sort of family. I was very keen to go as I am of Serb parents and our cuisine very similar. We were bowled over by the quality, quantity and freshness of the food, something we had not expected. The service was excellent, and the waitress explained that our order would take 35 minutes as it is cooked fresh. Not a problem. When the food arrived we were taken aback by the sizes of the portions. Good presentation and we loved the accompanying salads, and as I love the sauerkraut salad, the waitress very kindly gave us a box on the house to take home along with our leftovers which were packed in a box, and a bag provided to carry it in. Value for money is amazing. Thank you Aromat-Kuchni, you have got it right and we will be back very soon with family & friends, as it is the best quality restaurant around, and we have plenty of choice in Windsor, but nothing to match this.

My wife and I went to dine an evening during the week. The restaurant was quiet. We ordered our main course: salmon polish dish with dill sauce. After waiting nearly 30 minutes we had finally been served with a very shocking surprised! The salmon was not fresh as any restaurant supposed to cook freshly but it was just piece of a frozen salmon cube you get from Iceland sprinkled with kind of fresh parsley and on top a slice lemon ...with side plate composed of frozen vegetable steamed and 3 scoops of mashed potatoes. Besides the menu mentioned the salmon dish was accompanied with fresh dill sauce but we did not get it and the salmon was very dried,no flavor .no eatable at all. We were so disgusted and unconfortable to enjoy that we could not able to finish the dish because it tasted awful. As a native Polish I was ashamed how they could serve " fresh Polish homemade food" as they strongly advertised. We paid our meal and shared our disappointment to the staff about it and she just looked embarrassed with not even taking consideration to escalate the issue . We will never come back again and strongly do not recommend this restaurant.

Huge portions, great staff and delicious food! I couldn't have been happier when we stumbled upon a Polish restaurant and was elated to find it was authentic with very reasonable/cheap prices! The whole experience was pleasant and I will return any time I'm in slough!

We used to visit this restaurant with my mother who was part Polish, my wife is polish and we always found this to be great food a value for money. We visited today and there was 9 of us we called ahead to let them know we were coming. We arrived at 1 as they opened the doors and we were seated. We ordered drinks which arrived quickly. We then tried to order the food which took about 50 mins for them to take our order. About 1/2 hour later we were told it would be another 1 1/2 as they had a big order for take away and someone had ordered 25 meals. Surely the people in the restaurant should come first and the people ordering take away should have been told that the restaurant was full and they would have to wait. My mother passed away just before Christmas and me and my family decided to go here to remember my mum as it was her favorite Polish restaurant.We all left very angry hungry and annoyed. The service and management need to review there policies on take away. My wife who is polish has said she would not return.

Aromat kuchni is very popular with most Poles in Slough as their food is most similar to traditional polish home cooking. They have a verity of many different positions in their menu and I believe you can also try a bit of polish alcohol. I have to say Aromat used to cook better when they first opened, but now the food quality has dropped down and the same dish which you'd order 1 day can completely differ from taste when you order it next time. The staff is very nice and helpful tho and the restaurant is spacious and clean. The prices are ok for the quality of the food they provide but as I mentioned before - you never know if the dish you loved with come in with the same taste ( on two occasions I couldn't eat my meal). If your looking for an original Polish cuisine I wouldn't recommend this place as it won't give you an idea of the proper taste buds, better spend the same money and choose harvester or toby's as an up-grade for the money.

Polish food at its best, huge portions so make sure you are hungry !!Close to railway station in a former pub, now furnished in a charming way, makes you feel that you are eating in someones dining room.Brillianr staff and service, one of our group spoke Polish which helped but menu has descriptions in English.5 of us ordered different main courses and then shared so we could experience mant dishes, the waitress hapilly provided extra plates etc.Bonus was when the bill arrived - very reasonably priced !!!

Awesome Polish food, reminds me of my childhood and the bill always come out cheaper then expected!Be warned Polish portions are large and the food is filling so don't make the mistake many of my friends have made and order numerous dishes to try it all. Luckily they give takeaway boxes if you do have some leftovers.If you aren't a Polish speaker, be patient with the waitresses as a few can struggle with English. But over my MANY visits (where I always seem to have the same waitress) I have seen improvements :)

This is a brilliant Polish restaurant not far from the railway station and the Holiday Inn Express.Don't let the low cost fool you (mains are around £7) - this is seriously good food, service and restaurant.I suppose it could be described as Polish home cooking - like your Mother used to make (assuming she were Polish). Hearty and tasty food cooked to order. Try the dumplings, chicken skewers or braised lamb shank ... delicious.SI've tried this restaurant a few times now and it is impressively consistent.

Recommended to us by polish friends, this place is hidden gem, authentic great quality food at unbeatable prices. Portions are so generous that we always end up taking leftovers home... Highly recommended!

We went to Aromat Kuchni on the recommendation of a Polish colleague, who booked for us. We ate lunch here last Valentine's Day as a bit of a change from overpriced set Valentine meals in mediocre gastropubs (we're going again next week which has prompted the late review!). The restaurant is in a fairly unprepossessing street in Slough; it smelled delicious when we walked through the door. It's always a good sign to see a restaurant filling up very quickly too - people, mainly Polish families, just kept on flooding through the door and it was full to bursting when we left. We had the Pirogi (dumplings) to start and Golonka with sauerkraut as a main - a vast portion of pork knuckle that I could barely make a dent in, despite having a huge appetite. It's dirt cheap too and amazing value for money - if you're absolutely starving and on a modest budget, and like to eat somewhere a bit different with the voices of other nationalities chattering away around you, you will love it. For a truly romantic Valentine's experience, have a beer at the Wetherspoon's nearby before going to the restaurant.....!

Took my two grown up children here for a midweek lunch. Tastefully furnished inside; the food was freshly prepared and the quality and quantity were excellent. We had the Golambki (stuffed cabbage leaves) and Ruskie Pierogi washed down with Tyskie beers. All was excellent!The only reason I held back from giving it 5 stars was quite simple. This excellent restaurant is located in Slough, a cesspit of a town not worthy of such culinary delights

First time to any polish restaurant, it was sunday afternoon and crowded, mostly polish families. I ordered soup and grilled chicken, it was quite tasty. Service was good.

Being of polish heritage, I was obviously going to compare the food, all I can say is that is took me right back to my childhood. I was very impressed with the food. It wasn't busy, so service wasn't a problem but was with a smile. Food here is of great value, big portions and 100% tasty. I highly recommend Aromat for traditionalists and people wanting to try something new alike.

My boyfriend looked up this restaurant to try out something new.It is a lovely place, where you can have a big meal for quite cheap. Though, the Polish food (like some other Eastern European dishes) can be heavy for some people. Or maybe it was just because of the huge portions?The restaurant is nice, staff is kind (though I had the feeling that some of them do not speak English too much) and the food is good. When we were there, there were many Polish customers. Once - when I tried to say thank you on Polish - the waitress started to talk to me on Polish. :)It was a good experience overall. I just miss the "Good" rating at Tripadvisor as my current experience is somewhere between 'average' and 'very good'.

My wife and I went for lunch. I had the hock which was huge and my wife had the Sea Bass. Having read other reviews we didn't go for a starter as they said that the portions are big. This is very true. The food was excellent and we will be going back with other family members.

Tried this following recommendation from Polish friend. Spartan surroundings but atmospheric. Other diners included pairs and families which gave very friendly ambience. Food excellent with quick service (huge portions) and first class value for money. Definitely on list for return visit.

We went for an evening meal for two as we were staying in Slough for the evening. We stumbled across this place & wished we'd found it before. I had chicken kebabs with salad & couldn't manage the mash potato or fries which came with it. They were huge & their salad garnishes were all salads in their own right.My husband had a Chicken in breadcrumbs with salad & fries. Our portions were not only both huge but so cheap. An evening meal for two with a drink each cost less than£16. So tasty :-)

Service was average, the staff was kind but not very warm. The food was good, real traditional Polish food. The portions are huge you don't have to get a starter has they give you salad with the main course. It's good value for money in Slough, Not very romantic setting would not take a date there.

We visited this place today and it was really nice. Lovely service and delicious food. very big portions for little money;) surely recommend it.

Took the kids to Legoland for the weekend and spent two nights in Slough so, had to look for a good place for family dinners. Aromat Kuchni was a perfect choice because of the courteous reception we got and the great taste and size of the foods. Family loved the experience so much that we paid them another visit the next evening and did not regret it. I hope they keep up the good work.

Food up to a very good standard. Home cooked and presented in a fantastic way. As a Chef, I recommend this place. Probably the best restaurant in Slough.

Visited this restaurant as it was the closest to our hotel by the railway station and so, was within easy walking distance. It was quite busy and we arrived without booking a table but were given our choice of any empty tables. The menu is not extensive but has enough choice. Our starters were nicely presented and of good quality. The main courses were quite large and again well presented and a good quality.Meals and drinks are very good value and the service was fine. Having never visited a polish restaurant previously, I don't know if this place is authentic or not but we really enjoyed our meal and will visit again next time we are in the area.

Found this little gem by complete accident while looking for our hotel. Food top class, massive portions so make sure you have enough space in the stomach to eat it all! Lovely and friendly staff, very fast service and good atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Saw the previous reviews and as its near to where I was staying thought I'd give it a go. Nice and pleasant welcome, simple decor, enough time between order taking and food arriving and clearing. Food was delicious, had the meat dumplings with side of salad.....very filling however left some room for Apple pie.And all reasonably priced, value for money. Definately worth the visit.

First time visit, probably not last! Food was amazing "placek po węgiersku ". Nice atmosphere however I felt strange in the toilet cos you are sharing tap with men's....! General I enjoyed! Ps. Customer Service was ok nothing exciting (where is "how are you "questions or smile ☺) thx anyway guys!

Visited this place second time. In the past I was not satisfied. However a few months after this changed. I was impressed. Friendly and professional staff and really good food.

Going out for a family sunday lunch, we thought it would be a better experience than we had one time before. Both were as bad, if not to say this one was much worse!! The waitresses dont take any notice of you if youre standing in the door waiting for somebody to come up to you. Even Pizza Hut has much better customer service! Food not cooked properly or overcooked even!! We got the table half cleared after we've finished our meal, wanting to order coffee and dessert, but after waiting 15mins to have the other half of dirty dishes cleared, we gave up.. After all this we have shared our views with other people we know, and it seemed like we were not the only ones to have that sort of experience..

Went there with a couple of friends few weeks ago. The dishes are really cheap and the portions are huge !!! We all had to take away the rest of our food ! (The starters are huge and the main dishes are even more huge, which is great value for the price!)I took the pierogi with cottage cheese and potato, loved them, they were really tasy! I'll try the duck filet and the Hungarian pancake !!It's a good address in Slough (which is quite rare!!), have to go back to try other things!

4th visit and thouraghly enjoyed each time. Decor of the place is a nice and always fairly busy, nice environment. Waitresses are friendly and helpful, although their English isn't always amazing this has never been a problem and I have always managed to get my point across.Quality of the food is normally very good, I regually have the Chefs pan, or chicken squewers and very nice. Very good portion size also. Girlfriend had poached salmon and was maybe a tad over cooked but not much to complain about.Food and drink prices are very reasonable for the size and quality of food.Will be coming back and recommend anyone that hasnt tried to try it :)

Be careful! Prices in the menu are not the same as coming on the bill!Make sure you check your bill with the menu before you pay!Not coming back to be robbed again!!

Every time when coming back there the food and the service is very good. The staff are nicely dressed and very friendly. The portion of food are decent for the value of money.

Tasty Polish food at a great price. Had 2 soups, 2 large dishes, and split a desert - all for £27 and all delicious! Will be finishing the leftovers later tonight. Also make sure you try the thin pancake for desert - delicious!

Went for a meal on a Sunday lunchtime, everything was excellent.Really enjoyed the Perogi and Hungarian Goulash.

Disaster. Very cold inside - in all I could think or outside there was warmer. Nobody asked me if the food is ok. The waitress could not even noticed our existence from the date of the contract and provide food. The one thing which was good in this restaurant - food and garlic sauce. For sure there will not be back.

Extremely cold inside Service almost non existent-no one ask if everything was OK with food, the waitresses werent even looking at our table, we had to go to bar to order some extra sauce etc. once complained about grit in salad waitress was literally avoiding us !!! Although she was polite and apologized us we had to ask to take it off from the bill as they behave like it is completely normal to find GRIT IN SALAD. The rest of food was nice, Not awesome but really good. Garlic sauce tasted delicious. I may come back.

It was a fine saturday afternoon and six students fancied a spot of cheapish lunch in Slough. We were going to go to a standard wetherspoons however fancied mixing it up for a change. We heard about Aromat-kuchni from a reccommendation and were not disappointed!Despite parking being a little difficult to come across (there was provided spaced but unfortunately they were all full) we were pleasantly surprised by the interior and ambience of the restaurant.Everyone was really happy with the food - it came out at the same time and was the perfect temperature. Portions were very generous especially for the affordable price. There was a large range of food on the plate including fresh salad. Drinks prices were very reasonable with a range of traditional polish drinks included. Also the kind waitress was more than happy to split the bill six ways for our table. Understandable there is a £1 charge on card for under £10 payments.Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will be returning in the near future. Thanks!

Been to Aromat this evening for the second time in a week and I really enjoyed the experience. I went with friends and we all agree this place is a gem! The food is excellent, amazing value for money and the portions are huge. The staff are friendly and attentive, generous too, give us shots on the house. I also enjoyed their beer... The Perla (honey beer) is awesome. For my meal I had the houlloumi starter and then for my main the chicken Shaslick... I couldn't eat anymore after that. It seems that the local polish community frequent Aromat which is no bad thing, I've never been to a polish restaurant before and I'm certainly glad I did.

Just quick dinner out. But like always food selection and quality was excellent. I go there quite often and it's always this very high level of service and great food.

While staying at the Holiday Inn next to the station, found this gem 3 minutes walk away. Never having been to a Polish restaurant before decided to try it. Great service, wonderful food, large portions. Had a pork hock, could not even get close to eating it all, but delicious. Thanks to the young ladies, one who if memory serves is 'Ola" Will go back, and it is reasonable too!
