Ariel Open Kitchen in Chorley

First time ordering from this place. Order delivered 40 minutes late. I ordered duck in honey and chilli sauce, I got chicken and it was in batter which it doesn't specify. The crab claws we ordered didn't arrive with the order. When I called to ask for a refund the lady initially said they would include them 'next time' and when I said there won't be a next time and wanted a refund for them she hung up on me! Then didn't answer the phone and again cut me off. Then answered and said it was their New Year and were extra busy (not sure why they were taking orders they couldn't fulfil). Our crab claws arrived after another 40 minutes by which time we had finished our food and couldn't eat them. Extremely disappointing, poor customer service and will not order from them again. I see many other customers have had similar experiences, wish I'd seen the reviews before I placed the order.

I placed an order by Uber, and the driver let’s say that he couldn’t find the address. When I called the shop the very owner offered himself to deliver my food. Thank you very much ! Amazing service

We ordered at 19.18 and 2 hours later our oder of duck pancakes and spring rolls had still not arrived. No communication or updtaes through just eat. I called 3 times and the phone rang and disconnected 3 times. We gave up in the end and went to McDonalds, not quite the same thing. Won't be going here again.

Food taste and quantity was great, had issues with delivery and after 2 hours drove 20 minutes to collect myself. Was apologetic and can let it slide due to high demand on Christmas Eve 👍🏼

1) Delivery was very late (30 min late). 2) We ordered 2 different types of Thai curries through Uber Eat but they did not come with rice. No where on Uber Eat states it comes with no rice or order rice separately. In fact, I've never needed to order rice separately for my Thai curries in any Thai restaurant or take aways before. Who eats Thai curry without rice?! 3) The lady handling calls at the restaurant seems restless with poor customer service skills. She kept saying it's not her problem + we should have ordered rice separately. Well, we ended up having chips and spring rolls for our Friday evening dinner. Great! 4) Do yourself a favour! Buy a pack of frozen chips from Aldi and put them in the oven. Trust me, it will taste much fresher and yummier than theirs. 5) We wasted about £27 and ruined our weekend with Golden Star. We won't do it again. Not sure about you!

Absolutely dreadful, ordered from this restaurant lastnight and it's gave me food poisoning, must be horrible cooking conditions, will never eat here again.

Been here twice had the set meal for 2, always been accommodating when wanting to customise dishes and the food has been nice......excellent value for money. No issues with delivery all good!

Ordered the munchy box for my son and I tonight via Uber Eats. All containers felt luke warm to the touch. Chips and 3 wings and 4 tiny ribs with barely any meat, in fact one of the tiny ribs was just bone came in polystyrene boxes. I also pulled a black hair from the chow mein. Did not want to eat the food after that. It went in the bin. A waste of £21. Very disappointed. Will not be recommending this takeaway to anyone.

Great to see a thriving business - several chefs, producing such an extensive menu - and authentic food at a sensible price. Friendly welcome, quick service.

I would leave 0 if I could but I cant! Where do I start… delivery drive called me to say he couldn’t find my house! He couldn’t seem to grasp the conversation that even number on the right, odd numbers on the left, this was a ten min conversation on the phone whilst he was walking around with my food in his had! Telling me to come outside my house … ( I was at front door checking all the time, asking what he could see and what number he was at, telling him over and over he is in the wrong side of the road) His attitude was also rude, he was very in my face when he did finally find my house! I called the shop to tell them the issue and due to this my food was cold! I wanted a refund and they refused and said on my next order I can have an extra box of chicken wings to say sorry! When I said that this wasn’t enough I wanted a full fresh order then if I can’t have a refund she put the phone down on me …. By the way I should say I spent £30+ on food! I sent a complaint to the website I ordered on they called me to say I will have fresh hot food sent in the next 15-20 mins …. Guess what! That never arrived! Would not recommend this place to anyone! Rude customer service on the phone, and the delivery driver!

Excellent food as always. Been a customer for years, though less frequently since I moved out of the area, it's always a great treat when I'm back nearby. Highly recommended, especially the OK sauce!

Ordered via just eat.Never eaten from Here before..Came on time but food terrible..salt n pepper ribs hard ..like been left overnight..special fried rice clumped together..and prawn curry actually mixed with tough lamb n beef.My husband ate none of it..For £26 incl delivery..waste of money. Food was beautiful.. I took a while in choosing a place ro order from as I always order from places with a 5 hygiene rating. I was really happy with the food and the amount you get. Definitely worth the money. Fresh food which tasted lovely. Il Definitely be ordering again.

Was told the wait would be 50-60 minutes. Rang after 80 mins. Told they were cooking it now and it would be 20 mins. It soundd absolute chaos over the phone, I was certain they hadn't checked and just guessed. Sure enough, 30 mins later, rang back. Same response, just starting. 20 mins. I said they told me that last time, the response. We cancel order and hung up. Shame as it was a big order, almost £100.

Just ordered from here this evening, as our usual Chinese unfortunately were not taking delivery orders. Chicken Chiw Mein.... sweet stodgy noodles with very tough tasteless chicken, no bean sprouts no umph.... AVOID. My slipper would have tasted better. My husbands curry, he is eating... however NO sauce as it arrive upside down in the bag. Dry and tasteless. Will NOT order again.... EVER.

Order never arrived. After an hour and 15 of waiting we rung the restaurant and was told 20 minutes (no apology). 45 minutes later rung again, someone answered and put phone down. This happened twice. Now they are closed. After 2 and a half hours I assume they’ve given up on our order. Appalling 👍🏻

Really really poor service. We ordered online and rang after 30 minutes to find out a delivery time. They sayd an hour, we queried this as 1.5 hours felt alot they said they were busy. 1.5 hours and still no food. Called and they said it had left. 2 hours, still no food. Called they said sorry it had left. 2.5 hours ko food. Finally turned up after 2.75 hours.

Ordered jasmine special, absolutely disgusting. S&P chips and ribs good, garlic rice, beef curry and friend noodles good. Food overall too salty.

For the 1st time we're really disappointed. We order every Saturday night and expect a 1 hour wait for delivery. Tonight we ordered at 5.40pm and our food was delivered at 7. 15pm. It was luke warm. Expect at least a 1 hour wait for delivery!

AVOID AVOID AVOID! 2 and a quarter hours AFTER my food was supposed to arrive, I had to go in myself to find out it wasn't even cooked! First World problem I know going collecting your own food but not to even tell the customer their order will be late or to even newer the phone, just to let it go to voicemail is appalling. Zero customer service, would give zero stars if I could! Kitchen is filthy aswell

Daughter ordered off uber eats, when arrived I unpacked the delivery, she had ordered duck spring rolls that hadn't arrived, she rang up and got called a liar! And the phone hung up on her. I then rang up and the same lady called my daughter a liar to me, I said i unpacked the order and they weren't in there, she basically called me a liar! Avoid cheaters, scammers, rude and no customer service whatsoever!!!

Duck spring rolls in order didn't arrive so called and she asked me to double check. I confirmed there was absolutely no spring rolls for then to be told I am a liar and she didn't believe me and then proceeded to hang up on me. Absolutely shockingly rude.

Not very happy with the meal , special chow main all noodles no veg little meat and was tuff frozen chips looked like scraps all stiff and hard , black bean sauce 😟 well that much garlic just could not eat it . Ended up in the bin 😟

Didnt use gloves to handle my noodles an 2 of them was drinking a stella while cooking an my noodles was so greasy i couldnt even get them on my fork 🤢

The crispy duck, cost 15.00 and was sour and definitely not crispy .We got the salt and pepper b munch y box . Stodgy rice, salt and pepper ribs were tough and were barbecue ribs covered in salt and pepper onions . On the plus side the curry sauce was OK. Won't be returning

Haven’t used this takeaway in a very long time due to poor food and abhorrent customer service. HOWEVER.... Just ordered chicken curry and shredded salt and pepper chicken For my wife and I. They just have had a change of ownership. The food was piping hot, ready relatively quickly, and absolutely delicious. Haven’t tried the rest of the menu but can 100% recommended the Chicken Curry, Shredded Salt and Pepper Chicken and Egg Fried Rice. Well deserved 5 stars....

Mouthwatering food , great service. Counter lady was very patient and has greatly helped me. She also explained the loud shouting due to the telephone line and the busy kitchen. Fast delivery. I will definitely use it again and recommend this takeaway to anyone else

I placed a order for a munchy box and a special fried rice, the order came a lot quicker than they stated which was fab, the delivery driver was so rude to us. Our order came which was not what we expected as we had gone off the menu on line we got one salt and pepper wing, I rang up the Chinese straight away the lady did nothing apart from scream at the gentle man in the kitchen they had a full blown argument,,!!! Then she laughed at me down the phone and said that's a old menu it's wrong 🤔🤔🤔🤔 soooooo rude to top it off the ribbs were soo tough and the noodles were swimming in grease!!! Never again!

Ordered a meal tonight, although the rest of the food was ok, the honey ribs we ordered for our starter we’re inedible, they we were so tough, we had to throw them in the bin. We rang the restaurant to complain and we were told to bring the food back right away, and they better not have been eaten! Absolutely disgusting customer service, will definitely not be ordering again.

The ribs were so tough that we could not bite into them, let alone chew them. I rang to tell them, and although we paid for a delivery they said we would have to take them back in person!! There was no apology, nothing!!! Disgusting food and appalling service and attitude.

We placed an order for a takeaway. When it turned up we were charged more than we were told over the phone. Only£2 but still. We had asked the price for a reason. I've never known such a rapid inflation. 40 minutes and£2 up on the price. I think I'm in the wing profession.When we opened the food parcels we thought at first some was missing. There barely looked enough to feed 2 people let alone 5. We checked the menu against the food Infront of us and it was correct. But the portion sizes are adequate only for borrowers, fairies and other tiny mythical beings.The menu is misleading. We ordered a salt and pepper munchy box with our order. On the menu it listed chicken wings, ribs, chips, egg fried rice and chow mein.There were 2 ribs very greasy not salt and pepper just deep fried tasteless meat, not sure what rib, maybe a rabbit rib with the size, nothing I was accustomed to eating anyway. 2 chicken wings again not salt and pepper tiny little wings, maybe a blue tit wing, not a chicken! Very very greasy tasteless things. I actually took one bite of the unidentified now flightless bird before rapidly removing from my mouth before my gag reflex did it for me.The chow mein was actually ok. The rice was cold and not egg fried rice, just fried rice so we left that small helping of food due to fears of a family feud starting if anyone found a minute piece of egg. I mean how would we toss for that?Chips were good, yet very greasy. I think my arteries were waiving the white flag by the time my stomach had accepted the first one.I wouldn't order from here again unless I wanted to lose a rapid amount of weight whilst sending my cholesterol and blood pressure through the roof.Order from lucky Star in Chorley instead. Still shed loads of msg but hey it tastes good and it fills full size human plates.

I placed an order at 5.15pm to deliver our food for 7.15pm, the food arrived at 8pm. When I called to see where our order was, it sounded like they had no idea what was going on and as a result of our 40 minute wait they would offer “free prawn crackers” despite offering them with any order over £15 anyway. They kindly offered £10 off the bill due to the inconvenience but when the food arrived the duck spring rolls look off and the deep fried squid batter was like powder. Wouldn’t recommend.

I've tried most of the local takeaways and this is my favourite. It's always ready when expected, always has generous portions and tastes great. Well recommended.

Ordered salt and pepper ribs, got what i can only describe as fat covered in batter, not sure from which animal as hubby couldn't eat more than a mouthful. Not be using again. I also waited 20 minutes in empty shop for wrong order. Avoid.

Waited over 2 and a half hours for our delivery having been told an hour wait. I made four very patient calls to find out what was happening to our order. Each time we were given a different excuse. The food arrived eventually by taxi. The driver was looking for the wrong address and each time I rang up they repeated the number of our house correctly. The food was'nt very good. We ordered a special platter for two. The Won Ton's were flat with no filling,there were no Peking ribs at all and the spring rolls and curry parcels were tiny. Everything was cold and not good.The main dishes were very poor, one dish didn't resemble what was ordered and the other was flavourless. The only thing that wasn't too bad was the rice!I will never use this take away again, thoroughly disappointing.

Our family decided to have a rare takeaway treat for the bank holiday weekend. Sadly, after waiting for a hour and a half (according to the shop it was supposed to have been delivered after an hour, so where had it been?!!!), not one single person in the family was able to get past a few bites of this totally grim food. I had Chicken Chow Mein. The chicken was very cold and the noodles had turned to mush. Even the fortune cookie which was purchased as a treat for my youngest daughter and was wrapped, was bendy with moisture. Never again...the worst £30 ever spent!

Our order was meant to be delivered at 21.20, at 21.32 I rang to see where that delivery was, they told me it was on its way. I rang again at 21.44 to be told that it was on its way, but then 2 minutes later was told they had missed my order. I asked for the food to be made and delivered for half price. I had already paid on just eat and told them they could bring £10 cash with them to make it half price. To then be told delivery was no longer available and I would have to wait for a refund through just eat. Appalling service.

Ordered a meal for 2 and arrived 35 minutes later as promised. Absolutely amazing starter of prawn toast and spring rolls. The main of Special fried rice and Chicken Fue Young with curry sauce was even more delicious! Hot, fresh, tasty and good size portions. Would highly recommend, will defiantly not look anywhere else when ordering Chinese takeaway. Absolutely brilliant A+++++++

To put one star is a blessing for this place...if I could give minus stars I would! The food they sent to our door was vile. If I was able send pictures here you could see exactly what I mean. I rang them and they didn't even offer an apologie. Need some serious training in preparation of food and how to cook and also customer service. I will not be using them ever again and by word of mouth I hope no one else does either. Disgraceful food!!!

Telephoned an order last night through just eat at 8.10 pm, was informed the order would be delivered at 9.10pm. At 9.30 pm rang the restaurant to see how long it would be before the food was delivered. Was told it was probably late due to the driver being slow and would be another half an hour at least , which meant 2 hrs from order and 1 and a half hours before delivery. I asked is the driver on the way reply we’ve not cooked your food yet!!!!!! Went to my local chinese and returned ten minutes later with similar order. Order with Ariel Kitchen cancelled , the food could be great but i wont be evn trying again with them thanks to the rubbish customer service.

Put our order in, an hour later rang to ask about it and they didn't have a clue where it was, it arrived another 30mins later, half of it was cold and they forgot some bits of it Not bothered ringing because it took so long for the original order to arrive in the first place only reason they got 3 stars because after we had warmed it up it was nice food

Always use Ariel for a rare treat meal with my wife, never had a problem with her fussy soup demands! Best veggie options locally in my opinion, always fresh and hot.

Hemos comido de cocina Ariel abre un par de veces antes y nunca tuve un problema, anoche pedí un curry tofu de soja, que parecía estar bien hasta que encontré de carne. Esto puede no parecer un gran problema para la mayoría de la gente, pero yo soy vegetariano y yo pedimos una comida vegetariana, no me importa lo que nadie come, pero debería tener el derecho a elegir lo que comer, no comer! Personas que trabajan en la industria de comida debería ser más cuidadoso para garantizar que no hay carne en comidas vegetarianas! No pedir desde aquí.

Not as good as ive known it to be ..

This was our local Chinese takeaway 7 years ago, we then moved home to a different town, came back two months ago and the takeaway is every bit as good! The food is good and they're friendly too. So is de ja vu for us

We order from here weekly, we love our Chinese and this place is always good, great value, great food and local to us just around the corner.

My children used to visit here. So when they left home we tried this place out. Lost our order sent wrong order to be delivered. Time it got back was cold. Second time most tasty but red Thai wasn't. Third time it was busy, yet they had a young child being paced around, surely this isn't hygienic. Saw no hand washing after passing child about. Must be a family business not worried about that. But young children not safe.

Previously had great food from here, but recently had some poor experiences. Tonight's ordered via just eat at 7'30 arrived at 9pm. Ok it's a Saturday. But ordered salt and pepper chicken wings, and got another portion free! First bite was just small pieces of bone, and more followed. Every piece was broken, not just in half but into small splinter pieces of bone. Wife's duck was ok. Then main ordered Hong Kong style crispy chicken, a previous favourite, what could go wrong! They sent sweet and sour chicken instead. Was edible tho. Wife's duck in plum sauce was reasonably nice to be fair. Couldn't complain as I can't get through! But all in all after many good meals, the recent ones have been very poor. I won't be risking it anymore.

This place is probably the most tasteless food I can remember having. I ordered a Singapore show mein and salt and pepper ribs, it was so bland. I put some soy and housin sauce on the chow mein myself it was that bad. The ribs were grizzle and heavily bettered. Just overall horrid. It's just the worst place I've ever had takeaway food from.

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered. The food was 50 mins late and was cold on delivery. I rang to complain and when I asked for a refund I had the phone hung up on me. The food was average at best, mostly tasteless and bland. The chicken meat wasn't great either. There's far better takeaways in Chorley, this place is a waste of money.

Best chinese in chorley by a mile. Really good value for money. Salt and pepper prawns, curry, duck with pancakes and the vermicelli are all really good.

Ordered honey spare ribs & sweet & sour chicken in batter with egg fried rice.

We have have used this take away on and off over the past few months but the food is hit and miss. When at its best amazing but has been virtually inedible. Pay your money and take your luck X X

Ordered sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, fried rice and chips absolute waste of money, chips not fresh, rice stodgy so not fresh and as for the "chicken" was horrible not really sure what was inside the batter but was disgusting ,, waste of £9.50. Not happy

Great food and delivery service

Regular at this place. Tried the rest in chorley/astley village but this is by far the best. Usually get it delivered and rarely wait longer than 30mins. Salt and pepper king prawns/really good curry and the singapore vermachelli is also nice.

Me and my partner visit this take out a few times a year (we dont do many take outs) every time we have its been excellent, and is reasonably priced. The staff are very nice as well Well worth a visit

The staff are friendly, the front of house guy is English and chatty, witty and amusing and the food is fresh and scrumptious. All the food is cooked in front of you in the 'open' kitchen. Excellent.
