Argan Moroccan-Lebanese Cuisine in Lambeth

Great location, with friendly staff. We had a cold and hot mezze to start. The halloumi was very tasty. Main course we had shawarma, Farouk meshwi and the lamb meshwi, all were enjoyed. Will visit again.

Argan restaurant was recommended by friends who live in the area and regular guests, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and confusing. A female staff member attended our table to take orders. As we were waiting for all of us to arrive, we kept ordering drinks and she took our orders. When we called her for food order after sitting down for about an hour, she told us that she didn't take food orders and would send another staff member to do so. We waited another 20 minutes at least and still had to call a staff to take our food orders. While waiting we could see the female staff member serving food to other customers who arrived later than we did. I would have appreciated an explanation about the rules for serving customers from the catering staff when seated. The food was okay, nothing outstanding or special, however, I didn't order any mains and my friends who did really enjoyed them.

Went last night as a group of five - on the plus side, the food was very nice (we all loved it), as were the red and white wines we ordered. On the bad side, only 4 mains were brought instead of 5, and only 3 desserts were nright instead of four. Our waiter was distinctly unfriendly and unapologetic - when he'd delivered four mains he just left and we had to beckon someone over to ask where the fifth main course was - he just walked away, didn't apologise, and by the time it (chicken tangine) arrived, everyone else had finished their mains (I'd given my friend part of mine. Ditto with the baclavas - we ordered four plates of them, only three arrived. Our waiter should not be employed in a service industry, not just because he couldn't care less, but because he didn't even notice/consider why he'd only brought 4 main courses! Now normally I'd not go back to a restaurant after an experience like that if I thought our experience was typical (but I don't know that, of course). However, the food was delicious so our consensus was that simply because of the excellent food, wine, prices we would go back if in the area - BUT we would make them repeat what we had ordered, even if (like our waiter) they had written it down, just to sure.

Went here for Mother’s Day dinner. Even though they had a large group booking and walk ins we were still looked after very well . Food was lovely (starters and mains) Cocktails were on point and were lovely and strong. A big thanks to Howie the bar manager too. We will definitely be coming back here. Thank you to all staff including kitchen staff.

I came to visit it in January for a Saturday night dinner and I really enjoyed everything: the atmosphere, the staff and the food! Food was really good and I’m a bit picky normally. Tagine and hummus the best! the staff very kind and smiley. Surely, I will be back.

Would give 0 stars if possible - went here with friends in August 2022 and the food was comically awful (pics uploaded - after an hour of waiting we got the food to go and couldnt stop laughing at the results). I can't properly describe how shocking the food was, which paired with the high prices (£25 each for a "feast" platter) and the poor service, really made for a terrible experience. Our only lasting memory will be of how bad this place was.

I visited Argan Resturant for the first time yesterday evening with my family and will definitely be returning. We sat outside which was beautiful and the atmosphere reminded us of being on holiday. The food was outstanding and the staff were amazing! I can understand why they have great reviews. If you haven’t been I definitely recommended this place you won’t be disappointed! 😊

We have been eating here for the past few years and up until today, always been impressed with the food and service. Today was such a disappointment, we had a family member staying and decided to book a table there as a treat for her last night in London. We arrived at 8pm, we waited patiently for 20 mins, nobody acknowledged us or came to take orders for food or drink. The restaurant wasn’t full, but a couple of the staff seemed to be taken up talking to their friends. When we told the waitress we were leaving she didn’t apologised but just rolled her eyes as if we were the problem. I am not sure if it was an ageism thing we are all over 60. We will not be returning.

This place is amazing… the service is always fantastic and the food is delicious! They do an amazing lunch wrap for only £6.50 which I would be happy to have as my last meal. The Hot Mezze platters are also amazing. The best restaurant in Clapham!

Incredible food! It was my second visit here and once again it did not disappoint. My friend and I had a selection of hot and cold mezes. The fatoush was particularly tasty. The spinach parcels were delicious. Everything was well presented and portion sizes were generous. Good value for money too. You must try this place!

Discovered this lovely cosy place with a great terrace too in the Clapham Common area - and near the underground. Superb food and the service was wonderful from a caring staff who clearly enjoy their work too.

We had a wonderful meal on a Saturday night: the food was absolutely delicious with several vegan options, Gerson was friendly and extremely attentive without being overbearing, and the ambience of the restaurant was intimate and lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be coming back. Definitely a good find!

This was the perfect place for lunch after a visit to the Clapham picture house. Delicious and beautifully presented Lebanese/Moroccan food at a very reasonable price served to us by one of the nicest and most helpful people I’ve come across in a restaurant. Thank you Gerson for looking after us so well.

We went here for my Dad’s birthday lunch and it was perfect! We ordered a set menu of 6 x starters and a main per 2 people and all of the food was excellent. The staff were particularly friendly and organised for a dessert to be brought out with a candle for my dad

I ordered the chicken tagine and in my plate I found liver meat. I mentioned it to the waiter (Gerson) who said that was sorry but did nothing at all, such as asking if I wanted something else instead.I'd highly recommend to list all the type of meat that are in a dish as I really dislike liver and I felt disgusted at the end of the dinner for having a liver in my place. Very disappointed!

Having lived in the Middle East I cherished this experience of authentic cuisine from this region. It is rare that felafel is cooked this well. Likewise the hummus was amazing. We also loved the Casablanca beer.

We visited on Thursday 2nd Sept for late lunch/early dinner. we chose the veggie set mezze and it was delicious. The service from Gerson was attentive and charming. If you like tasty Lebanese food in a nice restaurant, with great service and a nice vibe, this is the place for you!

Myself and my partner came to Argan on Sunday 29th August 2021 at 12pm for Lunch. The customer service from Gerson, Kelly and Lara was brilliant and the food was delicious. Would recommended this restaurant to others!

I have eaten here before and the food is always excellent! I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian moussaka. Gerson our waiter was exceptional; very attentive but never intrusive. I will definitely be going back again soon

Genuinely the best food I’ve had in a long time. Best halloumi I’ve had in my life. Cannot recommend this place enough. The staff go above and beyond and are super friendly, and you can tell the chefs really care about making the food perfect. It is incredibly reasonably priced too!

Had lunch with a friend. We had the cold mezze tester, soujek, fatayer and the special mixed grill. Food was really good, especially the soujek, fatayer and the kafta from the mixed grill. Super friendly staff who were helpful and well-priced food. Will definitely be returning.

Stumbled across this place and they managed to fit us in, outside. The staff were very pleasant and service was excellent. The food itself was so tasty, with lots of flavour. It’s also reasonably priced which is hard to find in Clapham. I’ll certainly be back.

Sat outside last Saturday (6 of us) they accommodated all with throws as it was cold. The food came out continuously and steadily. I’ve been many times and this review is long overdue! Staff are good as always, Kelly (who looked after us) was in fine form. Again this place was faultless... if you’ve not been of not tried food from this part of the world it’s a must. Can I give 6 stars!!

Estábamos sentados en la parte trasera del restaurante donde la luz era tenue y la música de fondo un poco demasiado alta, lo que disminuyó la experiencia para mí.El menú era muy extenso, con muchos meze fríos y calientes para elegir y una buena variedad de platos principales. Éramos 4 en nuestro grupo y teníamos 4 meze para comenzar y un plato principal cada uno. Era mucha comida y todo delicioso. Mi esposa eligió el entrante de berenjena que me alegra decir que disfrutó. Dos de nosotros comimos cordero como plato principal. Era muy suave y tenía una salsa excelente. Mi pollo terine también era bueno, aunque estaba tan oscuro que no podía ver los huesos y terminé con un bocado de huesos a veces. La carta de vinos también era buena y, por supuesto, tenían vino de la casa de Mussar. Tomamos una botella de Mussar Jeune y, aunque carecía de la rica suavidad de Chateau Mussar, seguía siendo un vino muy sabroso y un buen compañero para nuestra comida. El personal era amable y eficiente y el servicio era bueno. Yo lo recomendaría.

Fui a cenar, nos sentamos afuera y las mesas estaban apenas a 50 cm de distancia. Nos alojamos como estábamos afuera, así que me sentí bien. Tenían dos manteles de tela en cada mesa y solo el de arriba fue cambiado por la mayoría de los camareros, un camarero tendía a cambiar ambos. No los necesitaban, ya que sería más higiénico tener una mesa vacía y desinfectar después de cada cliente.El servicio no era excelente, la mayoría no sonreía y nos dieron la factura a pesar de que nuestra mesa no había sido limpiada. La mesa de al lado nos pidió tres veces cuentas y nunca las recibió.La comida era bastante buena y todavía pagamos los 12. Se agregó un cargo por servicio del 5% a la factura, ya que sabemos que la industria necesita apoyo. Pero si hubiera sido en cualquier otro momento, no creo que hubieran recibido un consejo de nuestra parte.Puedo darle otra oportunidad al lugar, pero no hasta que haya una vacuna para Covid-19.

Fui con unos amigos la semana pasada y nos dieron una mesa que es una habitación muy fresca por dentro. ¡Se sentía como estar en Marruecos! Muy buena decoración tradicional y música para una experiencia completa.¡La comida estaba increible! Pedimos un poco en exceso. . . pero todo estaba delicioso. Compartimos algunos entrantes y platos principales para que todos pudiéramos probar cosas diferentes. Todo fue realmente bueno. El cordero es el mejor que he probado en Londres.Nos atendió un camarero portugués muy agradable que definitivamente hizo que la experiencia fuera aún mejor. Nos hizo reír y recomendó los entrantes que elegimos. Aunque estaban muy ocupados, nunca nos sentimos desatendidos. Él hizo un gran trabajo.

So very disappointed and would never return! We Selected two starters for myself and my husband ordered a main course and side and asked for it all to be served at the same time along with drinks. My two dishes arrived and my husbands side. We then waited 50 minutes for his main dish and despite three requests to two waiting staff it did not appear. We then asked for the bill siting the reason why we were leaving. The manager then suddenly appeared and having offered for us to receive what we had had gratis for the appalling experience then retracted the gesture when I said that I would be sharing my experience! Hence this post. We Would now never return and very disappointed.

Pedimos cambiar una copa de vino con un refresco, pero dijeron que no, lo cual es molesto y ridículo, ya que tuvimos que pagar más por el refresco. Y mi principal molestia fue que nos ofrecieron té al final, lo que pensamos que era complementario, pero tuvimos que pagar 10 por té de menta "sin nada especial" sin azúcar. We booked for six people for my mums birthday, found a deal on groupon but when I phoned to enquire they offered the deal price with direct booking. The restaurant itself from the outside is a little tired but what may have been lacking in decoration the food more than made up for it! We had a set ten course taster meal and everything was fantastic. The flavours and the freshness of the food, the portions were good and the service was great, both waiters were attentive and friendly.All in all a really great experience and my husband will be booking again for a work night out!

Two friends I really value were visiting London, and they wanted to have some shisha. I looked up for some restaurants where we would get some shisha after a dinner. First, I booked a table in a restaurant in west London. Then, following the recommendation of a friend, I decided to give it a shot to Argan.I called up during the day to confirm if they serve shisha, and the answer was positive. We even talked about the price.Right after we arrived, I double checked with the waiter. He mentioned the garden is closed and there are no heaters outside, but shisha is still served. We were fine with that, so we sat down and ordered dinner.Towards the end of the dinner, we asked shisha to be prepared. A more senior waiter told us it may not be possible. When I challenged by saying I asked on the phone and upon our arrival, he said he needs to double check with someone else. Then he came back, saying there is no tobacco. At that point it became clear that we were basically lured into the restaurant I'm not big on shisha, but I do care about being a reliable person - especially towards my friends. I made a mistake trusting this business with my guests, and they left me in a ridiculous position.If a business is not shying away from deceiving its customers, food, ambiance or price become irrelevant. Keep that in mind when planning your visit.

Argan food is good, I’ve been there four times already and the food is never disappointing. However what it’s outstanding in this place is the service. The waiters are welcoming and they look after you throughput your visit no matter how busy the place is. I will be back.

I along with 11 other people went along for our Christmas meal this afternoon and had an amazing experience. I called to book two weeks ago which was so easy. No deposit and no problem catering for 12. our waiter, whose name I didn’t manage to get, was superb. He was patient and attentive and was able to answer dietary questions. Food came out hot and all orders correct. We also didn’t have to wait long for food and great value for money. I would highly recommend this amazing restaurant and am looking forward to going back.

Got a 10 course tasting menu Groupon offer and it was excellent value. Good food and great service. I'm not sure I'd pay full price but good as a Groupon. Food was mostly tasty but a couple of duds. The restaurant itself is well decorated and comfortable.

I was invited to a Farewell Lunch today at the Moroccan Restaurant Argan which is a short walk from Clapham Common Tube Station.

Tip: don't order lots of dips as you get some with bread and olives anyway. We found a mixed grill enough to share. The wine was pretty good. Sit outside in warmer weather and people watch.

My daughter and I love Lebanese food and enjoy a good mezze and we were very impressed with the food indeed! Probably the best falafel we’ve ever had - hummus was lovely and the halloumi tasty indeed! Thoroughly enjoyable evening - we will be back!

It was my fiancées 28th birthday today and we had discovered we still had a Groupon voucher for this restaurant. We had yet to use it as we simply couldn’t find time! But what an amazing night to do so!

I have been to many Lebanese and Moroccan restaurants and I’m afraid this place was not up to the mark! My first complaint is that despite having called up the restaurant a day beforehand to make a table reservation this was not booked when we turned up last night... and if my friend had not turned up half an hour earlier we probably wouldn’t have even had a table given that it became really busy between 7-8pm.

We had a lovely Saturday night, even if the restaurant was busy, we booked for two and we turned up in 4 the lovely manager let us seat. The food was delicious!

I will start with what was not great: the first time I was there, the waiting time for our food to be served was very long; I don't know if this was because it was a busy Saturday night or they forgot our orders (people that arrived after us were served before).

I went on Sunday with my husband for an extra birthday treat to end our weekend of having good food. It was our first time and we really loved everything from the customer service to the food. The food was generous and hot with lots of flavour. Worth trying out if your in the area. Definitely will go again.

We used a Groupon offer for 4 of us and then 2 others bought food from the main menu. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. The chicken kebabs from the menu (no.44) came with rice and salad and were big portions of very nice chicken. The starters in the Groupon set meal were excellent - hot and cold mezze, including potatoes, aubergine, hummus etc along with plenty of bread and dips. We really filled up on them. The main course we felt was disappointing as it’s mixed chicken and lamb shawava with rice and salad which comes as tiny pieces of meat in a sauce, on one plate for 2 people to share. It’s an odd way to serve this course, it would be better in little bowls that you share, just like the starter. We didn’t eat much of it as we had had a lot of the starters. There was also a little baclava to finish. In my opinion the main course needs to be improved before I’d rush back.

El personal tardaba en tomar cualquier orden en todo, pero la comida llegó en buen tiempo y era muy sabroso (ofrecen generosas porciones, también). Sin embargo, el servicio deja mucho que desear! Tuvimos que wave, en un par de ocasiones, sólo para conseguir la atención de alguien y fueron muy lento en responder. Dicho esto, no estábamos apurados, así que no fue un gran problema! La comida es muy sabrosa (chuletas de cordero son deliciosos), y está tan razonable!

Compartimos un número de platos vegetarianos con mi compañero, todas eran muy buenas, especialmente la espinaca (fatayer) pasteles. Sin embargo, uno de estos tenía un trozo de papel de estaño en el medio, cosa que afortunadamente mi compañero vio justo antes de morder. El camarero parecía preocupado y sacamos a la cocina pero no oímos más e incluso apareció en la cuenta (hasta que pedi que se puede quitar). Esto resumió el servicio horrible que tuvimos toda la noche: era como si los clientes eran la última cosa que quería, y uno de ellos incluso "sirve" en la mesa mientras tomábamos una fila con un colega. A pesar de la calidad de la comida, que no volvería.

Mi pareja y yo cenamos en el restaurante y la comida estaba muy buena. Teníamos un meze entrante frío y una parrilla de mezcla para el plato principal, que estaba muy bien. El servicio era muy bueno a pesar de que el restaurante estaba muy concurrido los domingos por la noche. Sin duda volveremos.

He estado en este restaurante antes y ha sido genial. Sin embargo, esta vez tuve una experiencia decepcionante. Estábamos usando un cupón groupon que he usado antes, pero esta vez las raciones eran mínimas y nos trataron muy mal. Pedimos comida vegetariana y cuando compramos carne todavía y pedimos a sustituirlo con otra opción, nos compró una bowl de hummus. El director era extremadamente grosero y se pusieron muy bordes cuando pregunté acerca de esto. No es difícil ser amable con sus clientes, y hace una mala impresión en los clientes. No volveré.

I don't even know where to start. We were a group of 6 wanting to get some dinner for our combined birthdays and I'm not 100% sure they had even got our booking. Not such a big issue they seated us.

My friends and I (6 of us) were celebrating our birthdays and decided to go to Argan for Moroccan food. There seem to be an issue getting us to our table when we arrived even though we booked in advance! So we seat down, a waitress comes over to take our food and drinks order and makes a fuss for the fact that it wasn’t happy hour even though we were told happy hour was the whole night. Anyway, we order everything and 10 minutes later the drinks arrive with bread and sauces. 1hr later we still had no food. A waiter comes over and asks if we had ordered, we confirmed then a different waiter brings the menus, asking us to reorder. At this point we’ve not so much as had an apology. The waitress comes back with some story about how she put the order in but someone must have deleted it. Still no apology. 15 minutes later no one was bothering to tell us what was happening so we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. To add insult to injury, one of the guys attempted an apology only to be told by the waitress that he shouldn’t apologise to us. So we didn’t get to actually eat at this restaurant but with the horrific service we received, I wouldn’t recommend anyone there. Go to Five Guys!!!

Um achado em clapham. Comemos muito bem, com preços justos, e sentados no jardim interno que eles dispoem. Atendimento excelente!

We booked a 10 course tasting menu through Groupon and it was worth every penny.

I bought a Groupon deal as a birthday present for a friend. After arriving at the restaurant, we were told to pick our own table and then left to our own devices for approximately 5-10mins. Some food was then bought over with tap water. Nothing was ever explained in terms of the courses or wine. The voucher says 10 courses with wine... is that a glass/bottle? Very vague.

Tenía un cupón Groupon por este lugar que reservamos recientemente (con Jason) para almorzar en el 12. 15 horas el jueves 7 de junio. Dejé mi número de teléfono móvil con ellos también.

Fui a lo largo de aquí con algunos amigos para celebrar el cumpleaños de uno de los partidos. Yo había estado aquí el año pasado y decidí darle otra oportunidad. La comida es libanés y es de alto nivel y el personal muy amable. Es un restaurante muy popular y es muy popular en la zona. Recomiendo este lugar, debe probarlo.

Reservamos una mesa para cuatro en un jueves por la noche. El servicio era muy pobre. Después de haber estado sentado, tardaron más de 10 minutos para un camarero para atender a nosotros. Nos place nuestros pedidos - bebidas primero que tardó seis minutos en llegar.

Almuerzo aquí en un día laborable con un bono de groupon para un menú degustación fue muy bueno, con una gran variedad de entrantes mezze y pan pitta. Para los platos principales, teníamos una generosa porción de arroz blanco suaves con una mezcla de pollo y cordero shawarma y ensalada. Comida muy sabrosa y deliciosa con todas nuestras entradas y platos principales. Esto fue seguido por una placa de 6 tamaño baklava. Servicio muy amable y atento. Un buen lugar en Clapham Common para tener una comida a un precio razonable en un encantador restaurante acogedor.

Tomamos un almuerzo encantador y delicioso; la comida era perfectamente fresca, deliciosa y muy bien servida. El servicio era muy atento y eficiente. Restaurante pequeño y dulce. Puede ver volveremos a menudo. Gracias

Yo y un pequeño grupo una reserva para la cena antes de ver una película en la casa de la imagen. Clapham El restaurante parecía genial como llegamos, pero una vez que había pedido se hizo evidente algo no estaba funcionando correctamente.

Comimos aquí con una oferta de groupon para un menú de degustación con vino. Disfrutamos muchísimo y sin duda volveríamos. En una concurrida calle, gran ambiente muy cerca de Clapham Common. Fue una noche gloriosa, todavía muy cálido y nos sentamos afuera. Nos sentimos como si estuviéramos en el extranjero! La comida era excelente relación calidad-precio y un montón de muestras. Una manera fantástica de la degustación de una gran variedad de platos.

Teníamos una opción entre este restaurante y la pizza uno al lado - tristemente elegimos el mal.

This is the 4th time I have visited for all different occasions. I’ve held a surprise birthday party, a couple of friend visits and then a visit as a couple on Bank Holiday Monday. A busy evening so booking a table was paramount; really easy in itself & more than accommodating to let me have a table outside.

Interesting and varied menu, chose from the hot and cold mezze and everything we had was delicious. Very friendly and attentive staff, I would definitely go there again.
