Cocktails with the wife were brilliant. Dropped in for 1 and left after the 9th. Definitely returning

(I left a review for the wrong branch before but the same still applies so leaving it there too). The food was amazing, the service was amazing - especially Oscar at this branch! You need to go here!

Unexpected South American Cuisine Experience We happen to stumble across this little restaurant off Regent's Canal during our visit to The UK in August 2024. We never tried Venezuelan cuisine such as the famous arepas plus more. Food was very good and were served by friendly staff. However we found it quite pricey for the small portions being served. On top of that is the unexpected service charge of 13.5% - wow! What was bit annoying was that they charged for everything (asked for a bit more sauce and that too was charged without telling us). Still we enjoyed the food though the décor could be improved.

The food is delicious, and the atmosphere feels just like home. However, I had a bit of an odd experience when I wanted the Venezuelan waiter to take my order so I could chat with him (as I'm Venezuelan as well). Instead, he suddenly passed my request to someone else, who then handed it off to yet another person simultaneously.

Better service but really salty food bowl but FAB drinks!!! Must go :)

This is a lovely little restaurant overlooking the canal with very friendly staff members, delicious food and relaxed ambience. I would definitely go back!

We came for dinner and we had a fantastic time. We loved the food, especially the yuka chips. It was lovely to sit by the canal and enjoy a summer night in London. Staff was very friendly and especially Oscar was so engaging and funny and contributed to having a great experience. 5/5

Good service and nice emplacement, but we found the 13,5% discretionary service abusive.

Hands down delicious food. My last visit was slightly spoiled though when a 13.5% 'discretionary service charge' was added to the bill, which is paid upon ordering, before you actually receive any service. When I asked the waitress at the till to remove it, she argued against me. I expressed that I wanted the tip to be my choice, and that over 10% was beyond my preference, and she got shirty with me, huffing and puffing. Spent the rest of my evening there trying not to think about this exchange, which spoilt it a bit. Needless to say, I didn't leave a tip after that.

The food was great, the service was fantastic. I’m a big fan of ordering and paying in advance via an app because you can just get up and go when finished. However: The halogen security light mounted high on the wall outside by the canal is crazy bright!!. It gets in your eyes and makes after dark a pain.

It was my first time to try Venezuelan dishes and I was more than pleased I did. The sweetness of the pancake and the spiciness of the toppings creates a perfect harmony. The place was nice and cosy, and the staff member was very nice and friendly. I would definitely go back again.

Great spot on canal near where we stayed while visiting London. Great flavors. Very similar to my family’s recipes. Great wine and beer - Polar ( Venezuela’s finest). Highly recommend.

Fantastic location (by the canal), delicious food (arepa pernil was the best combo of flavours for me) and a very friendly and accommodating staff. I’ll definitely recommend and will be back.

Only stopped for a quick pit stop, so just had a drink and a couple of plates. What we had was excellent and lovely spot on the canal.

Had a delicius lunch at Arepo & Co yesterday. My first foray into Venezuelan food, and I wasn't disappointed. A great location right alongside the Regent's canal. Big thanks to the whole crew for a great experience.

Amazing food, highly recommended.

The food is OK, far from bad but it did not impress. I am not really sure what to say, apart that the portions are very small and not worth the money. Paid almost £40 for two people and we are still hungry. I don't necessarily regret trying this place out but I doubt I will come again.

Great food, friendly staff but a bit weird surrounding. We tried toston avo, yuca fries, Cachapa del Campo and arepa parbellon and shared a tres leche. All was fine. The place itself looks a bit rundown from the outside (with graffiti), but is okay when you're in. Would totally recommend visiting.

Lovely location for watching people using the canal towpath on a rainy day... We had the tasting menu which gave us eight little dishes to trie. The yuca fries were amazing with a lovely mustard mayo. Everything was a bit of a taste explosion and a great way to sample lots of dishes... Will be back soon!

Really nice authentic venezuelan food! The restaurant is beautiful.

I would definitely recommend the Arepas and Tequeños of this restaurant, they have a great approach to and a variety of Venezuelan dishes using the UK ingredient availability. The venue has an astonishing beautiful view and is decorated with a few folk traditional stuff (I like the evil masks by the walls) and coulors. If you like to share with family or friends, I would suggest cocktails (Guarapita, Cuba libre, etc.) I do like rum, so they have a PapeRum that basically is a nice jug cocktail. However, if you are more British/European style, they have a wide range of food and drink options representative of the Venezuelan/European cultural mix heritage. In a nutshell, there are many options such as vegan, vegetarian, or none of these, on their menu.

Delicious food, friendly service, lots of people eating outside and having a good time - will definitely come here again. Vegan friendly (not a lot of vegan options but they were all tasty - though not much vegan dessert)

The service charge is absolutely taking the mickey. I'm fed up with extra charges being added to the bill. Get rid of your service charge, especially when it's a ridiculous 13.5%, higher than anywhere else I've ever been. If you need more money then just make the food more expensive so people can see what price they're paying instead of having an extra charge added on at the end. I wouldn't be complaining if you'd done this instead. If it's to pay your staff then that's also not something I should be paying an extra charge for. It's your job as the employer to pay them a decent wage so they don't need an extra service charge to earn enough. Stop confusing people with extra charges. Increase your prices if you need to.

Yesterday evening I was in desperate need of a bathroom and Arepa on the canal was the only restaurant/place I could find. I went in and waited for who seemed to be the “senior waiter/manager” to ask if I could please use the toilet - I was not drunk, drugged or anything and presented myself in the best possible way. Not only was I denied to use it but also was treated poorly and talked to in a very rude way. Shame on you, access to restrooms are the bare minimum when a woman (but tbh, anyone) in need is asking politely. The guy did not even raise his eyes from the iPad. I don’t need to eat there to know it’s a place I would never recommend. Even before serving good food, a restaurant management should make sure their staff is serving good manners and kindness - empathy should be a bonus point.

My customer pay a big taxi fair to get there .so I assume is a good place to eat

Food was great as per. My mum's first time having an arepa and she said it was "absolutely delicious". It was pretty popular for a Sunday evening. Service could have been a little tighter, but it was still good.

This place puts venezuelan arepas restaurants in new york to shame. The flavors and freshness of all the ingredients are just so good. Perfectly placed next to canal in Haggerston. Love this place. Very highly recommend!

I ordered my favorite dessert, a tres leches, and twice it has arrived in bad condition, it was sour. A second disappointment. I am so disappointed about this place. The fist time I ordered the tres leches it was sour. I decided to give them a second chance so yesterday I took one away and when I tried at home it was sour as well.

Lovely spot along the canal and outdoor seats are all in the sun. Food is delicious but small portion sizes for the price. No table service (you order via QR codes) and there isn't any signal so its difficult to order.

It was our first experience of Venezuela food and we loved everything we ordered. A young man offered us his help explaining what is what and it was absolutely beautiful. Tasty, fresh, brilliant presentation, plus service was splendid. Thank you!

The attendants are kind and efficient, which is becoming something really hard to find in London after Brexit. The place is amazing, you can have a table just by the regent's canal and the decoration is nice, Latin America all over the place. The only caveat is the food, if you're searching for authentic food I'm not sure if it's the place, it seems very adapted to a London/ trendy style - which is not a problem and probably makes more success in a place like this. It's worth going there

This place is a real gem! Discovered during the first lockdown on long walks along the canal. I only wish it was closer. Their vegetarian cachapas del campo are to die for! Topped with yuca chips it’s the street food of gods no less.

Not as good as the Bethnal Green one. The staff aren't as friendly, the food wasn't as flavourful. The staff didn't have anyone that spoke Spanish, no plain lemonade as a mixer or shandy. Not bad but I'd rather go back to the Bethnal Green branch.

Nice small canal side restaurant. We had arepa and cocktail and both satisfying. However, ambience is more of a lunch place rather than dinner.

Amazing place. The view on the canal is so relaxing and the food is original and delicious. It is definetly the top 3 best pancakes I ever had in my life. The Bloody Mary was fresh and spicy, and the sun coming by the window made the moment in this place speechless. Thank you so much !

The food was truly fantastic. Service could be a little more attentive, and it was a bit noisy for my taste, we could barely hear each other across the table. The bathroom also could be nice and cleaner.

- cappuccino £3.60 (+ 0.50 for oat milk) - arepa pernil £9.95 - dirty yuca £13.75 first time trying venezulan food and it was a hit!! the location of this branch in particular was sooo lovely as we got a seat by the window facing the canal so that def added to the experience🥹 now onto the FOOD🍽️ the arepa itself was quite small but generously packed with flavourful pork, salsa and guac so it was overall filling. it came with a sauce of your choice and the staff recommended the garlic mayo which was nice but id get a spicy one next time for a bit of kick. the yuca fries were also a good portion but could’ve done with more meat bc it was 80% fries but at the same time we LOVED the fries so not a major complaint 😅 some fresh salsa or guac would’ve helped balance out the dish too bc it did get heavy and greasy towards the end but overall we loved both these dishes and def want to try more venezuelan food (and latin american food in general)! 😋

Very tasty Venezuelan food, offered as small dishes or mains. For brunch, breakfasts with traditional Venezuelan ingredients are offered. Most dishes are gluten free (yay!), vegetarian and vegan options available. On the canal side, has a large glass front overlooking the water and some outdoor space

NYE meal - our 7 person table placement was a bit unfortunate right in front of the bar, with very little space. The food, however, was great! Lots of veggie options, very decently prized!

I used to love going there and I am saddened to see this place change. Prices are high for what you get, today was empty and not the friendly people that used to serve. I called to get Hallacas be set aside and it was confirmed, I arrived to the Haggerston shop to pick them up (45mins journey) and on arrival was told that I had to go to another shop in Benthal Green to pick some up, when I protested and told them my order had been confirmed on the phone (yes, same shop), the did not even consider in selling me some of the frozen ones in there which I knew they had as they offer to cook them there and then for me at a wait of 45minutes!. This place has lost a lot of the charm it once had, not returning.

Our favorite Venezuelan place. Pabellón arepa/bowl are simply the best. We love going for brunch too.

My family and I, we're so impressed with the quality of service and food . We had such a nice time ordering a bit of everything and sharing it with us. Hidden gem! Loved the food and ambiance. I’ve never had Venezuelan food and there’s not many around either so made for a nice change to try something new. The staff were very friendly and recommended their best dishes. Flavours of the food were amazing and was a nice quiet spot for a celebration!

Really tasty food ! The proportions are not big, so it is better to order multiple dishes if you have an appetite. The place is very nice and the service is efficient.

After being dropped by a taxi in what looked like a quiet residential street, we turned a corner to find this lovely cafe by the canal. The food was delicious - we were there for Sunday brunch - and the staff were lovely. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We had one of each of the main brunch dishes and couldn't really fault anything. The sugar cane lemonade is also definitely worth a try :)

Really lovely place by the water! Bookings are evidently essential on the weekend, this place was heaving on the Saturday I went with a friend. Ordering was done by the app, which is nice for less faff around splitting the bill. The portions are generous and everything tasted very fresh. I don't think I've ever quite had yucca fries like those here, their texture was so wonderfully fluffy inside. I really enjoyed their fried chicken arepa in particular as well, that corn cream is excellent. Will happily visit again for a trip back to east London.

Yummiest food ever. Guava chicken was so good we ordered seconds. The arepas were so tasty. Also the service was great and the vibe was great. Amazing place that I couldn’t recommend enough.
