Perfect doggy friendly canal side brunch spot! I always come here when I’m craving South American food. The only reason I give a 4/5 is because of the price of the food I’ve been a loyal customer since it first opened and I used to be frequent but since the gradual raise of prices I don’t come as often. However still great spot for a catch up!

It was so good! I have to return. Too bad both they and I forgot my sauce for take away, but it was so delicious.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful cachapa , and beautiful presented Arepas. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, mainly the little lights on top of ceiling thaks makes it wonderful. Will be coming back soon .

Anika and Sharmeela were absolutely gems, the food was phenomenal and my parents from Canada really appreciated it! Thank you the girls for being so nice hence why I gave the 5 star review. Though the guy with the curly hair could do with a bit more training in customer service, we found him a bit rude for their last night in the UK. If you go and those girls are in you'll have a phenomenal time!

Disappointed with the decline in quality & pricing! I've been a loyal patron of Arepa&Co and have recommended it countless times for special occasions. However, my recent visit to the Haggerston branch for Mother’s Day left me deeply disappointed. The Toston Avo, once a generous and flavourful starter, now comes with a single, over-fried plantain—underwhelming and overpriced. The main courses arrived cold, in small portions, and lacked the vibrant flavours that once made this place special. Worst of all, the tequeños were undercooked and completely inedible. When we raised our concerns, the waiter informed us that no modifications could be made because "all food comes from a central kitchen." This response felt dismissive and disconnected from the heart of Venezuelan cuisine, which should be fresh, hearty, and satisfying. I’ve always admired Arepa&Co for its authenticity, but the focus on rigid portioning and centralised production seems to have come at the cost of quality. I sincerely hope the restaurant will reconsider its approach and bring back the warmth and excellence that made it stand out.

Great food, chill vibe. Quick and freshly made - yucca fries crisp, beef tender and flavoursome. Beans GOOD. Well worth popping in. They also did a brisk takeout trade - can imagine everything here perfect for that.

One of my favourite places to go for a brunch in London! The location is beautiful, view of the canal, great for people & dog watching. I always bring my friends here, but also like to come on my own on a quite rainy day. The staff is always so friendly and ready to provide advice and suggestions.

The staff at Arepa Haggerston helped us to make a 50th birthday celebration unforgettable! They helped us to refine the details of our booking; received us on the 6th April with warmth and delivered excellent service throughout the evening. The food absolutely delivered in terms of portion sizes, flavours and speediness of service. One of the absolute highlights was being waited on by Guillermo. He made us feel valued and genuinely welcomed. He had an amazing ability to form rapport with with all of our party- from the youngest to the oldest. None of our bespoke requests were too difficult for him. His politeness and warmth also never waned throughout the evening too! Hats off to the team at Arepa, Haggerston and massive kudos to Guillermo for an amazing evening! Alena

Such an amazing location, right by the Regents Canal, get an outside table if the weather’s nice! Food is fantastic, everything we ate was so tasty and I can’t wait to go back!

I ordered today tequeños and a cachapa Mariana. The taueños were amazing to be honest. However the cachapa had more though and plantain that chicken literally jut one small spoon of chicken I wouldn’t order again.

Comfy and cozy spot, busier than the location would suggest. Excellent arepas and plantains, and a nice cocktail menu too.

The host was so welcoming and professional, polite and charming. After sitting, service was very slow and we felt a little ignored but it was ok as we were in no rush and the place was evidently busy and popular. Slow inattentive service can be a blessing occasionally! Food was so new to us and delicious. it's always wonderful to discover a new cuisine. Despite slow inattentive service I'll happily return here again in future

So glad we found this hidden gem - we'll definitely be back! We booked for dinner and had cachapas and the cheese pastries that came recommended - it was all delicious. The service and atmosphere were brilliant, too - the fairylights and the fact it was looking over the river made it feel special. And all so reasonably priced! Highly recommended 👌

Amazing spot! I loved the authentic flavours in this venezuelan restaurant! Great selection of typical food. I had the brunch set and everything was so tasty! The platano was perfect. Service was so lovely, warm and welcoming. The restaurant is cozy, with a lovely view and authentic feel to it. Would surely go back!

The food was very delicious, the service was a little slow, but the place is charming and the people are very friendly.

I was longing for Hallaca (Venezuelan Christmas specialty) a long time ago; we did book the restaurant, and my husband recommended I call them and let them know I would like to have Hallaca. I didn't call them because I assumed they would have it; my bad. If you want to have Hallaca during the Christmas season, you have to ask in advance because everybody wants that delicious plate. My experience was beyond what I expected because even though they didn't have any Hallacas available for serving without having booked before, they made an extraordinary exception for me, something that I really appreciated. I was lucky, and I had my Hallaca which was delicious; it tasted like home! My husband was so pleased with the staff, especially with Joaquin; his service was over the top. My husband enjoyed the Old Fashioned whisky cocktails, which he described as a very honest drink. That means they put the fair amount of spirit, in this case whisky, that a nice drink should have. To finish our experience, I was recommended for the staff to have Quesillo as dessert, another Venezuelan exquisiteness. I can't describe the flavor; it was perfect! I could tell the rum, the coffee, the velvet texture melted in my mouth! I don't know if it was the nostalgia for my country's food or because everything was just perfect! I recommend them 💯.

Great little Place for traditionalist Venuezelan food at a very affordable price range. The Arepas are clearly their main dish, but there’s lots of other things on offer if you feel like venturing out a bit. Well worth a visit! - Value for money? Absolutely - Worth a detour? We had an amazing experience celebrating our daughter's 15th birthday at Arepa & Co! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The restaurant has a lovely view of the canal, which added to the overall vibe. The food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was packed with flavour, and we enjoyed every bite. The music was just right, creating a perfect atmosphere for our celebration. If you’re looking for a great venue with tasty food and great atmosphere, I highly recommend Arepa & Co. We ordered a catering service for an event, we paid for it, and it arrived an hour late when everything was already over.

I love eating at this restaurant, the breakfast Criollo is my favorite. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and it has the most pleasant vibe on the canal.

The staff was lovely, the food was tasty (albeit I think the portion is a bit small for the price), and the ambiance is nice and calm as it overlooks the canal (great for people watching)! I went for brunch and got the pabellón plate- it was all delicious but too much eggs compared to everything else. The coffee was decent too! They’ve got wifi and food came out quick. However, worth noting they automatically add a 13.5% service charge which is more than the standard 12.5 in London, and that feels steep

I tend to go to Arepa & Co at least once per month. It is a Venezuelan restaurant but the food they offer is really similar to Colombian too. The arepa mariana, the plantain, the margaritas are deli! It’s in front of the canal in East London, the latin music is always good as well as the service. They are dog friendly and even have a dog menu! It’s really good value for money It’s walk in so you can’t book in advance but I’ve always been able to find a table! Love it and wish they had more branches(i.e north london)

I've been here a couple of times now. I really enjoy the range of food, the rice bowls and corn pancakes and so forth really hit the spot for a bit of comfort after a night out. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

Unexpected South American Cuisine Experience We happen to stumble across this little restaurant off Regent's Canal during our visit to The UK in August 2024. We never tried Venezuelan cuisine such as the famous arepas plus more. Food was very good and were served by friendly staff. However we found it quite pricey for the small portions being served. On top of that is the unexpected service charge of 13.5% - wow! What was bit annoying was that they charged for everything (asked for a bit more sauce and that too was charged without telling us). Still we enjoyed the food though the décor could be improved.

The food is delicious, and the atmosphere feels just like home. However, I had a bit of an odd experience when I wanted the Venezuelan waiter to take my order so I could chat with him (as I'm Venezuelan as well). Instead, he suddenly passed my request to someone else, who then handed it off to yet another person simultaneously.

Better service but really salty food bowl but FAB drinks!!! Must go :)

Really good authentic food from Venezuela

We came for dinner and we had a fantastic time. We loved the food, especially the yuka chips. It was lovely to sit by the canal and enjoy a summer night in London. Staff was very friendly and especially Oscar was so engaging and funny and contributed to having a great experience. 5/5

Good service and nice emplacement, but we found the 13,5% discretionary service abusive.

Hands down delicious food. My last visit was slightly spoiled though when a 13.5% 'discretionary service charge' was added to the bill, which is paid upon ordering, before you actually receive any service. When I asked the waitress at the till to remove it, she argued against me. I expressed that I wanted the tip to be my choice, and that over 10% was beyond my preference, and she got shirty with me, huffing and puffing. Spent the rest of my evening there trying not to think about this exchange, which spoilt it a bit. Needless to say, I didn't leave a tip after that.

The food was great, the service was fantastic. I’m a big fan of ordering and paying in advance via an app because you can just get up and go when finished. However: The halogen security light mounted high on the wall outside by the canal is crazy bright!!. It gets in your eyes and makes after dark a pain.

It was my first time to try Venezuelan dishes and I was more than pleased I did. The sweetness of the pancake and the spiciness of the toppings creates a perfect harmony. The place was nice and cosy, and the staff member was very nice and friendly. I would definitely go back again.

The food was delicious . Not very big portions but a starter and a main was enough . The service was really really good . We were asked several times if we needed anything ,if everything was ok, how was the food …they really showed great customer service and appreciation for positive feedback. They were all great but Oscar , one of our charming waiters , was super friendly and responded happily to our chats and showed he cared . The starters ,cachapa and arepa and dessert were all amazing . The only thing we missed was a happy hour drink / cocktail that would have been a great end to a beautiful long lunch . The locations and the background music are also great

The food is OK, far from bad but it did not impress. I am not really sure what to say, apart that the portions are very small and not worth the money. Paid almost £40 for two people and we are still hungry. I don't necessarily regret trying this place out but I doubt I will come again.

Great food, friendly staff but a bit weird surrounding. We tried toston avo, yuca fries, Cachapa del Campo and arepa parbellon and shared a tres leche. All was fine. The place itself looks a bit rundown from the outside (with graffiti), but is okay when you're in. Would totally recommend visiting.

Lovely location for watching people using the canal towpath on a rainy day... We had the tasting menu which gave us eight little dishes to trie. The yuca fries were amazing with a lovely mustard mayo. Everything was a bit of a taste explosion and a great way to sample lots of dishes... Will be back soon!
