Just been for a birthday meal with my family, it was my sons birthday and they gave him a cake box to take home, what a lovely touch. Had the most delicious meal, so much food all freshly cooked. Very good price and the service was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be back Thank you so much x

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. We received a genuinely friendly welcome and ordered two moussakas, one meat and one vegetarian, accompanied by warm flat bread, all of which were absolutely delicious. We highly recommend a visit here.

What a fantastic meal. Driver was very friendly. We got a restaurant quality meal for two including two sweets. The food was plentiful , lamb cutlets were melt in the mouth. It was all absolutely perfect. Thank you guys.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! My sister and I believed we had a reservation at another Turkish restaurant in town (which due to poor communication on the restaurants part, we did not) so disappointed with Turkish food on our minds and no idea where we could get some from, i remembered a friend of mine had mentioned Ararat awhile ago, telling me the food was amazing, and my friend was not wrong! The food was incredible, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, i could not recommend this restaurant enough, curing our need for Turkish cuisine on short notice, blowing us away with the quality of the food and despite being on a busy road the restaurant felt tucked away and our dining experience felt relaxed and personal, we will be going again!!

Food had to be microwaved as it was cold and they missed out an item. Got 2 portions of meatballs instead of filo pastry.

Ararat is one of our favourite places to eat in Ipswich. Parking is round the corner; it’s accessible for all, it’s clean and tidy and most of all… THE SERVICE AND FOOD IS AMAZING 🤩 Tonight, we got the humous as an starter and the amazing bread, mains was a veg kebab and I had an chicken kofte with a GORGEOUSSSSS slice of fresh Baklava to finish… As always, the food is so good, the service is amazing. I love this place, literally the best Turkish in town - I can’t sing their praises enough 🤩🤩🤩 Ps; I forgot to mention, the chilli sauce!! OMG 🤤 so so tasty

Food is good, but the owner is so rude, my father was placing an order and is eldarly. Got fustrasted and rude to him. Treat your customers with respect and humble yourself.

Ordered at 16.10pm for 18hrs and food arrived at 18.27 phoned Ararat and they were very nice and said will update me and called back -just disappointing as needed to be out by 19hrs and had to rush our food

Just had a fantastic take away from this place. Some starters plus a 4 person meat platter. Lots of unexpected extras ( the flat bread and dips are particularly tasty) Only a take-away but super friendly staff on the phone and in the (lively) restaurant Will be eating in next time

They thought we were with another group of people. Food arrived all separate, no sauces nothing and the " manager" did not take our complaint seriously, Simply told us "I don't care". Poor customer service and attitude all through the night.

Order placed at 7.35pm and food arrived at 9.30pm. Totally unacceptable! We phoned the restaurant and he said that it was because of football traffic but the game ended 4.5 hours previously. Also, at 9pm he admitted the food had only left the restaurant 5 mins previously. The restaurant is only 1.5 miles from our house. Very poor and not happy with the experience. We paid a premium and we’re treated second class

Food was delicious .we came as a party of 4 adults, one of whom was in a wheelchair, and we were all catered for.Unfortunately ,there is no provision for alcohol anymore but the usual choice on soft drinks and hot bevarages.Myself and my partner opted for a sharing platter which didn't disappoint!

Yummy food. Only criticism - I ordered 2 lots of extra lamb this time but still only received 1 portion. So will only order 1 again from now on! Lesson learnt!

The nicest takeaway I have had in a very long time. I'm not sure how they do it, but the food was amazing. Big portions, tasty food and the chilli sauce is just delicious.

Slightly odd: they currently have no alcohol licence so they've crossed out all the alcoholic drinks on the menu with a marker pen. And they refuse to serve tap water, which is irritating. The food is very good but the restaurant is always empty so the atmosphere is a bit flat. Despite the fact that we were the only occupied table the waitress seemed in a huge rush to get rid of us, removing plates almost before we were finished with them. We were then told that she wouldn't get any of the service charge applied to our bill as the boss doesn't share it between the staff. We resisted the temptation to remove the service charge from our bill. I'm not sure what the story is with the alcohol licence but if they're interested in making money then they should probably get one. If they're not interested in making money then what is this place about....🤔

Food is very nice and reasonably priced, however the shisha isn’t great. Need to use coconut coal for the shisha, more flavour in the tobacco and properly light the coals so you can taste the flavour.

Was one of our favourite restaurants to go to with my mates and family, manager and staff are 10/10, until recently new management has been introduced and atmosphere has completely changed, fully licensed restaurant that doesn’t sell alcohol, and new manager is very rude. Will not be returning

We were previously loyal customers. However, on a recent visit we were disappointed as there seemed to be new management. The waitress was sweet and attentive, however the atmosphere was different. They do not now serve alcohol and nor do they allow you to have tap water. This impacted our visit. We would probably not return.

We have ordered from Ararat regularly and been loyal customers. The food is great. However, tonight we preordered at 6pm for a 7:30 delivery. At 7:45 we had heard nothing and it was not here. We rung to find where it was they said it would be another 20 minutes, no explanation, no apology. Our dinner arrived at 8:15. 45 minutes late. No offer of a refund of any amount. Especially considering it is not a cheap takeaway. Disgusting treatment of loyal customers.

Went in for a meal with a mate having ordered to my house before - the service was great, I really enjoyed all the food and I believe there were a few extra options at the restaurant compared to ordering takeaway. As far as my naïve english palatte could tell, it seemed like quality authentic food and my mate said it reminded him of the food he got in Turkey on a recent holiday. I really recommend the kunefe if you want to try something a bit different. This has started to change my opinion, I now believe Ipswich doesn't just have boring food options and this is far better than your average kebab shop!

Food was brilliant but delivery was an hour late, and when I called to see where it was I was told on its way 5 minutes, and then told actually its now about to leave 40 mins later it turned up.

Ordered nearly 2hrs in advance to avoid being late. Food turned up nearly an hour late, I had to ring twice to get updates and when it did turn up it was somewhere between Luke warm and cold.

Food is amazing, one of the best I've had. Especially the starters with that fish sauce thing and the bread. Also, it's very difficult to find restaurants who have staff with integrity, but the guys from ararat are honest and trustworthy, I left my expensive Samsung headphones in the restaurant, I am not from Ipswich. Was there for work, and they literally held them for me for nearly 3 months, kept them safe for when I come and collect them. And I got them back in 1 piece, all working. Honestly just want to highlight this and show my gratitude. Thankyou.

First time ordering here. Don’t get me wrong the food had amazing flavours and was delicious but I had to reheat all the hot food as it turned up cold as it was 15 minutes late from latest expected delivery time. Will go there again but I would go elsewhere first before going back !! #disappointed

A great night out with friends , the restaurant was jam packed with diners . They weee fantastic host , as expected kept our booked table ready and waiting for us . The Turkish food was a delight from appetisers to mains , all delicious. The prices per head was also very reasonable at £22.00 - £28.00 including drinks . There are two floors and the upper floor has the lounge bar with additional seatings so very nice . The service was great and the food arrived surprisingly very quick , given the fact how busy the restaurant was ! Well done guys 🙌👍

Great Lamb ! Yummy food & nice service. All the meat were well flavoured and hot . Didn’t enjoy the Bulghur much but probably due to regional taste difference. Would say a little expensive.

Food tasted really nice as per the eat in experience at the the restaurant however it wasn’t quite as hot as I expected it given that I only live just over a mile away. It is January so I don’t get too fussy about that, as it was warmish. If it had have been slightly hotter, I’d have rated it all 5*

Excellent food and very welcoming atmosphere. Only small complaint is that sitting with the plate glass window at your back in winter makes for a cold back! But a minor grumble, overall very happy and will be back!

Based on other reviews was expecting to have found a very good takeaway, however was disappointed when it arrived, we got the mixed grill for £18, and was very surprised in the amount of meat and quality of it also, got about 3 SMALL chicken chunks, 3 SMALL lamb chunks, 2 small kofte skewers and 3 chicken wings, and was very fatty meat with not much flavour so really paid £18 for rice.. we ate very little of it, quite disappointed really.

These guys consistently knock it out of the park weather it be eating in the restaurant or home delivery portions are fantastic and the quality is fantastic

We sat upstairs and it's like that forgot about us. Service was very slow. They were busy but they could have said that it maybe a longer wait than usual. Food was tasty but my brother ordered lamb chops and got 4 very small pieces and hardly any chips. For the price it seemed like a very small portion. It was like it was a kids meal. Shame we got no acknowledgement about our 45-50 minute wait for food. Won't be returning unfortunately.
