I can thoroughly recommend their pies. I buy a mince and onion and a chicken at the same time, cut each into four, heat one piece of each and freeze the rest for future use. The generous filling never falls out either when heating or freezing. And they taste great.

Having visited Ann's pantry several times in the past I've always found it to be fairly good. Sadly yesterday I was appalled at how we were treated. Its self service so my friend and I were waiting to be served when this woman approached us and very cheekily said it's only one person at a time you have to get back...her attitude was terrible so we left, I will never return. I am in business and if any of my staff addressed any customer in this way, they would be out on their ear. Businesses are struggling but sometimes I ask is it because of the pandemic or downright cheeky staff who quite honestly don't care.

Not my usual bakery but as I had to be in the area and saw quite a few people using it called in. The first thing I would have to say is the prices are ridiculous. Don't know if this is part of the continuing treatment of northern Ireland as second class citizens with the atrocious Brexit deal done but I didn't expect to be paying£10 for a few scones, half a wheaten and a few other items for a light lunch for 3 people (this was takeaway). The flavour of the scones was peculiar and both the scones and wheaten were"rubbery", not sure if they were even fresh on the day. Won't be back!

Have had lunch in here many times before. Usually good hearty stuff, home made pies, roast potatoes, mash, selection of veg, oodles of gravy. Nothing fancy but comforting and tasty. Today on going in at 12.40pm, there were no pies at all on display, and all the food containers had their lids firmly on. If the old saying, 'you eat with your eyes', well, if I ate stainless steel, I'd have been in heaven. (Why can't they use glass lids so you can see the content!). Anyway, on asking if I could have a mince pie dinner (£6.50), was told they didn't have any. But, it was the attitude of the lady behind the counter that really upset. She didn't smile once, no eye contact, and obviously should not be in a job dealing with the general public. (Maybe she was having an off day?) We just left as we are both in the 'service' industry, and have a low tolerance when we don't get any ourselves. Popped across the road into Greggs, got a smiling young lady, and lunch for 2 at just over £5! Shame really, I use to really love this place...

I met visitors off the ship this afternoon and we went for coffee and a quick catchup before they went on their way to the golf. Such an unwelcoming, unfriendly staff I have yet to meet. Even though there was an hour before closing they didn't really want to serve us. No smiles, no friendly welcome. This was our first visit to Larne and if the rest of the town welcomes people like this, heaven help Larne. I just hope Portrush has a bit more class. My visitors were more gracious than I, they said 'thank you' on the way out - I didn't.

The travelling 5 lads chose Anns for breakfast on Monday 2nd July. Ordered at the counter, breakfast comes with coffee or tea included up until 11.30am. The coffee is straight out of a proper coffee machine and is a lovely blend. The breakfast consists of egg, soda bread, potato bread, pancake, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, and beans. All for £3.90, a real winner. Service almost instantaneous, I felt. Deserves a special mention as the food was still hot when served. Look no further for a great start to the day, than Ann's Pantry.

This looks like a very ordinary place - well stocked high street bread cakes and sundries - except for all the plaques advertising the various awards they have won in recent years. I didn't not know what to choose and it was busy. I eventually chose a few different products - potato bread with black pudding through it (which was fantastic and peppery), chocolate Swiss roll (which was light and tasty), fresh soda bread that was almost fluffy, chicken and leek pies that had delicious chunks of meat and veg with good sauce and well qbove average pastry and some kind of ordinary individual cakes. This is a real find, if you're anywhere close go in and check it out - I'm still regretting not getting some of the sausage rolls which I noticed quite a few of the sit in customers were enjoying.

I've eaten here many many times and every time there's been something different, a real lack of consistency with the hot food served. I've ordered chips a few times and sometimes they take forever to be served, a lot of the time they're burnt too. If you get food from the counter ie a sausage roll/baked potato etc then it's generally pretty fine but if you order something that's made out the back then it's usually not great. Also sitting in hikes up the price big time, I'm pretty sure the sausage rolls nearly double in price just to have it served on a plate rather than in a bag, so it can get pretty expensive. The bakery itself is awesome, the buns are always tasty - especially the caramel squares! The staff are usually friendly enough and the cafe is laid out nicely,Overall I'd recommend the sausage rolls from here but only if you're getting them to go... they do offer to heat them up for you which is a plus.

Carriages Bistro, Larne 4th August 2024 There are a number of conflicting reviews about this place. When we ate there, the previously-mentioned problems were very much in evidence. The service was lackadaisical, with waitresses too busy exchanging local gossip to pay attention to guests. At the end of our meal, I had to stand up and find a waitress in order to pay my bill. (We’d finished our meal 10 minutes earlier). The food: I had Scampi and “creamed potato”. Creamed potatoes were mentioned before in this review site. Mine were barely warm, and lumpy. I have known how to make creamed potatoes since I was 10 years old. It’s hard to believe that anyone on the island of Ireland does not know how to prepare this simple potato dish. I asked for carrots and peas as my vegetables. The carrots were at room temperature. The peas were tinned processed peas – almost unheard of in this day and age. They reminded me of school lunches in the ‘60s. I must say, however, that my scampi was delicious. I’ve seen some good and bad reviews of this place – an equal balance between hit and miss. Our night was a miss. Maybe a manager or a team leader was missing, or (and) maybe a head chef was missing. Poor service; poor food standard.

I recently visited Taste Coffee in Larne located in Murrayfield, and I must say, it's a standout spot! With complete Countryside vibes From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff made us feel right at home. They proudly shared that their green beans coffee is locally sourced, and you can really taste the difference in each sip. The coffee was expertly crafted—rich, smooth, and packed with flavor. We also indulged in some of their pastries and chips, and it was "yumm yumm yumm" all the way! Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to our coffee. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to relax. If you're in Larne, this is hands down the best cafe around. Highly recommend stopping by for a real coffee treat!
