Great roast, great waitresses. Would have stayed longer if not for the unfriendly & dismissive bar staff.

The food is absolutely amazing, 10/10 Sunday roast! The atmosphere is great and all because of the amazing owners and bar staff !

Wow what a find! We have been trying different places for Sunday roasts and this pub is by far the best so far. Lovely warm welcome upon entering. attentive and friendly waitress. The roast lamb was amazing. So tender and succulent. The roast potatoes where so crispy and flavoursome. The veg and yorkies were delicious too. And the roast was hot. And to top it all we were given extra gravy in a gravy boat. Never had that in other establishments. The roasts are large but still managed to tuck in an apple crumble. Already booked a return visit. Can’t wait. Thank you to all those concerned x

We have heard such great things and having read the reviews we felt we had to try for ourselves. There is nothing we can fault, it was a proper home cooked meal. The choice of meat was lamb, beef and turkey along with a vegetarian option. The portion was huge with all the trimmings and the potatoes were amazing. Everything was piping hot and freshly made and the vegetables still had colour and crunch. Finally all the staff were lovely and welcoming. I wish we had tried it out sooner and we will definitely be back again.

We have been here quite a few times for the Sunday Roast and you can't beat it. Very good value and the portion sizes are huge. Last time I counted 10 roast potatoes on my plate! We always tell people if they will be close by to try this roast so if you are unsure just do it. Would recommend you book as it does get busy.

Once again never disappoints. The roast is fantastic and the landlord and Landlady and all their staff always friendly and tentative . Would recommend anytime and will be back

My wife and I and had an occasion to pop in to the anglesea arms, we was greeted by friendly staff and a great friendly atmosphere. Not been big eaters we ordered a small meal each, I must comment if what we got was a small meal I would love to see what they large meal looks like as both our meals was more than adequate. The food was cooked to perfection and the service from this table staff was excellent. I would highly recommend to anyone to pay this establishment a visit both for a friendly drink and a wonderful meal

On arrival to the pub it all looked promising, but that did change when we entered, the staff behind the bar were unwelcoming, and didn’t really fit the bill, seeing as other “Shepard Neame” pubs are a lot better. Drinks we had, I had a bottle of Master brew, while my friend had a coke. On this occasion the coke was flat, and glasses were dirty. I shall not be returning to this pub.

The best Roast dinner without a doubt, extra large portions and all the trimmings you could ask for. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend going there. Best to book as they are always busy , and that doesn't surprise me. Our compliments to the chef who works so hard to cook the best Roast . Look forward to the next time thank you. We love this pub just for a drink, let alone the most epic Sunday roast. It’s friendly, the staff are lovely and welcoming, despite having to work 3 times harder due to Covid measures that they strictly adhere to. So you feel completely safe. You must book. Gorgeous garden area also. A perfect pub in every way. The best pub roast we’ve all ever had.

Wanted a Sunday lunch in Bromley, found this on internet. They say the best Sunday Lunch in Bromley and think it is. The portions are huge and very tasty, the staff are very frienldy and helpful. Not a very big place so probably best to book. Unfortunately only do food on a Sunday but certainly worth a visit

We were staying close by and fancied a roast, we certainly weren’t disappointed. They were fully booked but very kindly the friendly bar staff squeezed us in. A lovely friendly atmosphere, very welcoming staff and best of all a roast to die for - HUGE portions , the best roast potatoes and lots of vegetables with an extra jug of the best gravy I’ve ever tasted and I’m from the North! Regresamos a Anglesey Arms con amigos cercanos para que pudieran experimentar las fantásticas cenas asadas. ¡No quedaron decepcionados con la elección del asado de cerdo, cordero o ternera! Dos de nosotros elegimos el cerdo (con chicharrón) y los otros dos fuimos por carne de res y cordero. Estamos absolutamente encantados de que la calidad y la cantidad no hayan cambiado desde nuestra última visita, ¡es necesario tener un muy buen apetito para hacer frente a la gran cena!Dos de los participantes fueron seducidos por la elección de una esponja de jarabe para el postre y uno tenía helado con salsa de caramelo salado.Nuestros amigos estaban encantados con la atmósfera de un verdadero pub inglés con excelentes cervezas Shepherd Neame y regresarán en el futuro con su familia.

Visité este pub hoy para el almuerzo del domingo con mi pareja y dos hijos después de la recomendación de un amigo. Muy contento de haberlo hecho! El mejor domingo asado alrededor! Las raciones son muy generosas ya un precio muy razonable. Es un pub tradicional y recibimos una encantadora bienvenida. La comida era increíble, asados caseros adecuados y salsa. A mis hijos también les encantó, y amablemente encajaron lo que mi hijo menor había dejado para que pudiéramos llevarlo a casa. Sin duda volveremos, gracias!

Nuestro hijo jugaba en una final de copa en el Bromley Football Club y mientras viajábamos desde Whitstable necesitábamos un almuerzo antes de ver el partido. Busqué en Internet un pub local con buena comida y reservé una mesa en Anglesey Arms. Al llegar nos recibieron con una cálida bienvenida y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa reservada. Esta fue nuestra primera visita al pub y me di cuenta de que tenía una agradable sensación al respecto. Nuestra camarera fue muy informativa y pedimos dos carne de res y una cena de Turquía. No nos decepcionamos cuando llegaron las cenas, la carne era abundante y se derretía literalmente en la boca, las papas asadas eran las que se cocinaban correctamente como su madre solía hacer y, además de eso, hay dos pudines de Yorkshire, cada uno con verduras individuales que se sirven por separado con una jarra de salsa. Me atrevería a decir que después de haber pasado la mayor parte de mi vida cenando asados en establecimientos locales, este fue, de lejos, el mejor que he comido, un sobresalto para todo el personal, y un agradecimiento especial para el cocinero. En una nota final después de un maravilloso almuerzo, el equipo de mi hijo ganó la final de la copa y nos fuimos a casa a Whitstable, muy felices.

Local pub with local atmosphere and a regular clientele and we visit intermittently although we know of no better Sundfay lunch. Portions large but we go for the childs size and that is quite sufficient at a lower cost with tremendous value.

Myself and my wife had positive feedback from friends who had visited before, so we decided to chance our arm one Sunday on our way home from Maidstone, no prior booking we were accommodated, but advised they needed the table in an hour for other pre-booked guests (to be honest we didn't think we would get in) Service was great, portions were generous, and food was very nice.

Bar staff very welcoming and warm. Only had a few beers, but will go back again for food one day. Very tidy and clean. Another must if you want a friendly pint and chat with the locals.

Had Sunday dinner here while watching the football & I have to say it was the best I've had in a pub and very generous portions

We were visiting relatives having moved away from Bromley and they booked the Sunday lunch. If you like the traditional roast dinner like Mum used to make this is the place. The portions are so generous you may well be defeated but the food is so delicious you will give it your best shot!! Would definitely go again.

Enjoyed Sunday lunch here when we visited with our children and grandchildren. Our twin granddaughters (aged 17) have large appetites and love their roast meat, but they did find it difficult to clear their plates. We could not fault the amounts of meat and vegetables served up nor the jug of extra gravy! The roast potatoes were probably the best I have eaten outside of our home, perfectly cooked and so crunchy. Suffice to say none of us could manage a dessert or even contemplate looking at the menu!

Having just moved into street and reading many reviews about the Sunday Roast at The Anglesey Arms we decided to go with a group of friends and try it. Wow Wow Wow! Probably one of the best roasts we have had. Huge serving (don't have breakfast) and all the gravy you could ask for. Roast Potatoes were perfect and the beef was beautiful. The pub itself is lovely and cosy with very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

Went today at 2-15 what a lovely friendly place to spend the afternoon my grandchildren enjoyed playing in the garden with other children but most importantly the Sunday roast was absolutely gorgeous.Definatly going again 10 out of 10

Sunday roast 10 ouy of 10. only one thing wronge with it they give you way to much, the roast potatoes are so crispy the veg is cooked to perfection nice yourshire puds 2 of them only wish i could give it more than 5 star but thats all that allowed

I have to say the 5 star review was spot on for Sunday Roast. The roast potatoes were so crispy and fluffy inside. Big portions with a selection of veg on a side dish. Was very pleased to get extra gravy too. I will definatley be back.

We walked to the Angelsea ,in warm evening sun, the bar was very busy, but we were made very welcome and the drinks were taken for us to the well kept garden where we chatted with the landlady's daughter, very relaxing, until the diners were invited to take their seats, no pressure or hurry .We were seated with our friend and with Anne (landlady) and her partner Mark ,very interesting and amusing company .

A small cozy and comfortable pub, serving delicious Sunday roast. Very generous portions for adults and kids. Last minute we decided to go out for Easter Sunday lunch and new to me, all in and around pubs were fully booked. This was the only place I called that said they were full but proactively took my details to call if any cancellations came through. And it did. Lucky for us they were even able to accommodate 2 more seats to my initial request of 4. Lovely and pleasing service and did I say good homely food already? Well it deserves another mention. Oh and I’m a country & western plus oldies music fan and this was playing in the background...loved the whole experience and will go back for more.

My god, took the partner out for lunch and for the first time it’s like having a roast at Grandmas in over 10 years. Go there if you can.

Having had some amazing Sunday Roast dinners, the Anglesey Arms now does traditional Pie, Mash and Liquor on Saturdays. Have to say NOT disappointing and would definitely recommend. Great flavours, friendly and welcoming.

I popped into the Anglesey Arms in the afternoon last week mainly to get out of the rain, and was really pleased that I did. This is a friendly 'local' pub tucked away on Palace Road not far from Widmore Road. Inside, it is comfy and traditional in décor, with a selection of three well kept real ales. The thing that stood out was the welcome - the landlord and all the customers were really friendly. If I didn't have an appointment to get to I would have like to have stayed longer. Will visit again.

Been visiting a while and cannot fault the Sunday Roasts, choice of meats, and the best roast potatoes ever. For roast dinner fans you will not be disappointed. Bring your appetite for a warm family welcome and a lovely lunch.

Myself and friends introduced to The Anglesey Arms by a mutual friend and we weren't disappointed. Great atmosphere every time we've been and it certainly is our new local now, cannot be beaten.

I revisited this traditional pub without hesitation as I had been there before and experience a welcoming that is not forthcoming in most pubs these days. The Guinness was refreshing after a long day and all I required was a pair of slippers to find total relaxation. I got speak to some of the locals one being an ex-landlord from the pub down the road, He kindly invited me and my wife to come along to an event that was going to be held at The Anglesea Arms on Monday 28th (Bank Holiday). It's a charity event on behalf of Help for Heros. Without hesitation, I have penciled it in my diary, I guess you know where I will be on that day. Hats of to them all.

hi back to the anglesey today for the best roast and great service from all the staff /We are not locals but are alway made to feel very welcome so i find it hard to see the poor review for this pub. we have even been invited to come on over for a music night out / we shall still make the car trip over every week if we can thank for all you have done for us guys

Took my elderly parents here for Sunday lunch and booked a table as I'd seen how popular the pub gets on Sundays. When we placed our food order the female owner told us they were running a bit behind and there would be a delay. I asked what kind of delay and she said 20 minutes but they would try and get it to us earlier. No problem I said and thanks for letting us know. So extremely disappointed to have to wait an hour and ten minutes. The roast beef and lamb were both superb and very generous portions. After enjoying our meals I was asked by the waitress if everything was ok and I had to say how I felt about both the food and service. She said she'd raise it with the owners but came back and said all they could do was apologise. Had they been honest at the outset and said it would be a 70 minute wait then we'd have gone elsewhere but they just wanted our money and weren't interested in us having to wait a ridiculously long time. Oh and as for the reviews on here about friendly owners who go out of their way to make you feel welcome...if that's the guy behind the bar then someone please teach him how to smile!

They are many pubs one can visit within Bromley, my favorite is the Anglesey Arms. The owners Mark and Ann who I have met on a couple occasions make you feel welcome instantly as do the bar staff with their smiles and polite manner. And may I add the Sunday roast my wife and I had was excellent.

A cold damp evening outside ,We opened the door to a cosy pub and received a very warm welcome from Anne and Mark ( the owners ) and the staff ,French background music and subdued lighting set the scene ,An excellent menu was offered ,which was pre ordered comprising of a three course meal ,all prepared from fresh produce ,comprising of a choice of starters -Escargots with herb and garlic butter or warm salad of avocado ,bacon and Roquefort or Celeriac and truffle oil soup ,we selected the salad which was very fresh and well prepared. For the main course we each chose a different dish either salmon en croute with hollandaise sauce or Coq au Vin ,duchess potatoes ,asparagus and Vichy potatoes also on the menu was Baked eggs in wild mushroom tart with salad and roasted tomatoes - all we tasted was very fresh and cooked to perfection To follow we had Karen's Pavlova which was absolutely delicious -the chocolate roulade not tried as we were full .Conversations with fellow dinners concurred that this was the best Pop up to date at The Angelsea and Karen's Board Room repertoire and presentation certainly beats the local restaurants for very good quality food ,expertly cooked ,very generous portions and at a very good value of twenty five pounds per person .We look forward to the next Pop Up Restaurant at The Angelsea Arms

I cannot recommend the Sunday roast enough. As for the bannoffee pie .... it's possibly greater than carnal knowledge. Don't think twice - just go there!!!

Last night we went to Karen's pop up.Delicious food at a good price served in a friendly atmosphere. This is a really great little local pub. Sunday roast meals are excellent good home cooking must book though.

This pub can not be beaten, for food, drink,and ambiance , not only is the sunday meal the best in London, the meals during the week are excellent too, it is well worth a visit,with very friendly locals and the landlords Ann & Mark always giving such a warm welcome, try this pub, you wont regret it.

After reading reviews we decided to try The Anglesey Arms and we weren't disappointed. There was a choice of lamb,beef and pork and we all had the lamb. The meal arrived piping hot and the vegetables were on a separate dish as the main plate was full with meat,2yorkshire puddings,stuffing and lovely crispy home cooked potatoes topped off with lovely thick piping hot gravy ( and an extra jug on the side.) I only had the child's portion and that was plenty for me. The Anglesey Arms will now be our new regular for Sunday lunch and we will definitely be try the meals on a week day.

Last night we attended Karen's pop up restaurant at the pub. Yummy food. This is a great little local pub,super friendly atmosphere. We have attended three pop ups there all good great value for money.

I am very very fussy when it comes to a Sunday roast! But I can hand on heart say without a doubt the nearest you will ever get to a home roast at a pub anywhere !!! Crunchy potatoes succulent meat and plenty on my plate! 100% will come back :) thank you chef Anne x

After being told this is a good place to go for a roast dinner on Sunday we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. In fact the dinner was too big for us to finish with a choice of lamb, turkey or beef. Half a plate covered in Roast potatoes and vegetables on a seperate dish as there wasn't room on the plate with two yorkshire puddings and a large ball of stuffing as well as an extra jug of gravy. It is advised to book a table on Sundays as the place filled up fast, and we can see why. Can't comment on the puddings as we had had no room for one! It's a small and friendly pub with great food. We were lucky to get a table as we got there early!

11 of us had Mother's Day lunch today . The food was excellent . Service was good . Friendly atmosphere .price very responsible .

this is a great pub, the owner's Anne & mark run a friendly, well run bar, the local's are extremely friendly, and if you're lucky you may go in when there is an impromptusing song, and you will find yourself joining in.the food here is fantastic, Anne the landlady take's a pride in her cooking, and rightly so, it is the best food in Bromley.give it a try you won't regret it.

Family get together made even better with a home made roast with the best fluffy crisp roast potatoes out we have had, HUGE portions will definitely make us think before going anywhere else,very friendly service couldn't fault it. A must.

This litte victorian pub in palace road bromley village north,is a gem.i went for sunday lunch ,and the food was excellent.very busy between 12-3pm.families welcome or solo like myself..Anne the owner is also cook.and her two ladies serving are very nice and polite making you feel most welcome.price is mid range and worth it.good selection of beer.great atmosphere .the locals are very friendly .thre is a lovely beer garden in the rear.lots of extra space in summer.i highly recommend this for a vist not just on sundayalways welcome..

Have eaten here on a number of occasions and the food is fantastic! The chef, Lee prepares all his dishes from scratch and his chicken and leek pie is beautiful. Sunday lunch can be very busy, so book in advance.

I have eaten in this pub a few times now and I can't rate it enough, wonderful ambiance, friendly staff and excellent food. Wonderful Sunday lunch to the point I don't really want to try any where else for a roast as this one is just like home cooked. It's got to be Bromleys best kept secret pub.

About 10 mins walk from the town centre. We tried this pub just by chance as SWMBO owns a house just round the corner. All in a very pleasant hour was spent here. Food was above average quality,and of good portions. The pub itself has a very relaxed feel about it,and well worth a return visit.

This is a relaxed pub with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and great food. There's plenty of inside and outside space and a nice crowd. The menu keeps changing but always has some real gems. This is home cooked style food rather than gourmet food, but the quality is excellent, as is the quantity and the speed! All done with a smile. This is a reasonably priced place where you can come for lunch and stay all evening. See you there!
