Angels' Wine Tower Bar in Uttlesford

Bad/rude service, tasteless food, ridiculous prices. Extremely slow service despite lots of staff. Just really bad…. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Excellent food and first class service on my solo stay. Albeit the menu is limited, the tuna steak was off the charts, served on a bed of crunchy salad as opposed soggy chips. I also enjoyed the dessert as well, with the almond tarts extremely enjoyable. Sebin looked after me and patiently explained which best beverage would accompany my choice. Well done to the staff who consistently kept an eye on all tables. Would I recommend it? Certainly, choose freshly cooked food and avoid any pub like dishes to really enjoy the cuisine.

Terrible over priced freezer food. (Fish and chips) very limited menu. Staff were lovely though…very helpful and attentive. Main hotel restaurant wasn’t open so we ate in this one. Poor standard for this chain of hotel

Leider gibt's die Weinkletterinnen nicht mehr zumindest nicht an jenem Freitag Abend als wir zu Gast waren, aber dennoch viel internationales Publikum, sehr gute Drinks, gute Hamburger sowie einfach eine tolle Atmosphäre! Man fühlt sich wie schon weg im Ausland und spürt den nahen Flughafen!

The menu was a bit of a letdown. I had the burrata salat and a hamburger and my husband had tuna steak. Service was nice and friendly and the food allright although I found it a bit expensive.

Nice bar in the hotel atrium with the very impressive wine tower as centrepiece and a relaxing ambience. The staff were friendly and attentive and provided table service. I ate dinner here but the menu was quite limited so I chose wings with dirty fries and sourdough bread. If you want a more substantial meal I would suggest one of the two restaurants. They offer a good range of drinks and cocktails at London prices. 10% service charge is added to your bill.

The place is very cute, design is nice. Staff is very friendly and prompt to help, but I have to give 1 star because I felt scammed. Clean as average hotel bar. I ordered one beer from the menu. Maybe my English is not super good, but I live abroad from 8 years and I use it on daily basis, so I think I am at least understandable. I ordered HALF pint, I was given a full pint. I am not familiar with the unit measure since I don't live in UK. So I didn't notice on first instance. But the worst part is that there is 12.5% DISCRETIONARY service charge added automatically to the bill. If you pay by card, you will receive the paper bill only AFTER you have tapped your card on the machine. And this is not really correct in my opinion. I emailed the hotel to let them know about this, no answer. So I write a review so at least other people can somehow know in advance and act to prevent such possible problems. After this, unfortunately, I think I will not visit again.

Decided to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant that we had originally booked as warmer, more relaxed atmosphere (although staff lovely in both). Menu pretty much the same in both. Waiters were really sweet and attentive and checked we were happy on several occasions. Someone warned us that the 20% service charge didn’t go to staff so we asked the waiter to remove it and gave him the tip directly. Food was reasonably priced although wine a little overpriced. Food was fresh and hot. Have been here a couple of times so don’t really understand the bad reviews - maybe they were covid related and due to staff shortages.

Pre flight stop over. Nice mood/vibe in the bar. Had some finger food from the bar. All very nice. Perfect start to our holiday.

Had a couple of drinks at the Wine Tower Bar (didn't see any angels) just after arriving at the hotel. I think this is the tallest wine rack they have in this part of Essex, but I didn't see any of the staff absail when somebody ordered a bottle of wine. Draught beer selection limited. It was very quiet for a mid Saturday afternoon but for me it was quite relaxing after a couple of hours drive. Hotel prices so don't go too crazy. You can order bar food here too.

Staff seemed a little curt. Took a while to locate a menu. After allowing me to peruse it they informed me that they wouldn’t make cocktails because they were closing in 10 minutes and had cleared up already. It’s was 11:45 and according to the website they close at 1am. Disappointing and rude. I didn’t bother having a drink in the end as I wouldn’t want to give them any money when they clearly can’t be bothered to make any kind of effort. Shame as this was a disappointing start to our holiday.

Flew to London tonight and glad we didn't waste a night staying at the Radisson. Went for for drinks and there were no angels at the wine tower! Isn't that the point?! No notice explaining where they were. Very disappointed! Won't be back.

We always meet people here that have just flown in as the hotel bar is a short walk from the main terminal . Good selection of drinks and interesting atmosphere

My fiancé and I had dinner here before our early morning flight. We both played safe and had a burger. Whilst the burger and fries were nothing to complain about, the £16 per burger we both felt was steep. The drinks are about as you'd expect, £5 or so for a pint. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed and the staff helpful and respectful too.

The bar was OK for a hotel bar (which are never the most cosy) and the wine angels offer a genuine interest and fun to watch (if slightly unusual). Choice of drinks was very limited given the number of visitors they have; I'm sure that they would be busy enough for a draught ale and perhaps a real cider. Food was very poor. Prices were high. Ordered a £16.50 burger (plus 10% service charge). The first one was cold and returned. The bun felt fridge cold. The fresh burger was hot (except the still cold bun) but was still not very tasty. The only positive about the restaurant was the waiting staff who were generally pleasant and we're very good when we returned the burgers.

Il posto è tutto sommato carino, la wine tower fa la sua "scena", il cibo è nella media (caesar salad, hamburger, fish & chips, ecc.) e il personale (in buona parte italiano) è gentile e sorridente (almeno la parte italiana lo è). Non credo mi sposterei apposta per l'esperienza, ma se soggiorni al Radisson Blu puoi cenare qui con rapidità e cortesia senza che ti venga l'urgenza di spostarti altrove in città.

We had a drink in the bar and watched the woman do her acrobatics in the tower as she retrieved wine bottles. It is not a cheap place to get a drink, but quiet and relaxing after a flight. The food service had stopped by the time we got there, but we did get some peanuts at the bar.

For £16 you can have mushy, tasteless fish and chips and burgers that are straight from the dark days of turkey twizlers... cold, hard buns and frozen, slapped on the grill slabs of meat and did I mention the tartar sauce? Mayo mixed with raw onion and gherkins. Ewww... It's hard to find such terrible food at this price but now you know where to find it. On the upside, good service and great wine.

The Bar of the Radisson Blu Hotel at Stansted airport is worth a visit if you are stuck in Stansted for an extended period. Tranquil and comfy, it is only a two minute walk from the main terminal. The bar servers food also, the menu is fairly basic, I opted for the fish and chips, there were no vegetarian options, I asked my server who suggested the chef could make a caesars salad. The food was good, if a bit pricey, seventeen pounds for my dish. Service was very good, I also had a moretti beer on draft, which was really good. Often these places let the draft go a little flat, quite the opposite here. There is an italian eatery at the hotel which is quite casual, also a little pricey, it has only one or two vegetarian options. The Angel Tower bar is known for it’s angel who glides up the tower to get bottles of wine, however the angel was not on duty, a waitress did the honour. Enjoyed my visit.

Currently staying in the Radisson at Stansted airport. This was our second stay in the hotel. We had a few drinks last visit and enjoyed the bar. This time we felt that things had gone downhill. Lots of staff but poor service. Long waits to get noticed (it was the same at breakfast). I went up to the bar to ask for a Cosmopolitan only to be told "we don't do cocktails". Something must have changed recently as there is a cocktail menu online and the previous poster mentions they enjoyed the cocktails. For a supposedly upmarket bar, I found this very strange. The other weird thing is that you can get a Brewdog beer from the room minibar but not in the bar downstairs. This bar is now disappointing especially when compared to other Radisson hotel bars. There's room for improvement.

Primero de todo, tengo que decir que el ambiente cuando entras en este bar es muy distinto. Es muy tranquilo, un lugar encantador para sentarse y relajarse. Ya habíamos visitado hace dos semanas y disfrutamos tanto que tuvimos que volver otra vez! Y para nuestra sorpresa, nos reconoció tan pronto como entramos y se acordaban de nuestras bebidas! Uno de los chicos detrás del bar (creo que su nombre es Nuno) hace unos fantásticos cócteles. Yo conseguir que elegir qué hacer, y que todos los sabores increíbles.. especialmente su cóctel Bailey's! Y si eso no era suficiente para hacer un gran bar, tienen que recuperar su elegancia Angels vino desde la torre, mientras poniendo en una breve pero hermoso espectáculo en el trapecio. Siempre una agradable noche garantizada. No sólo el servicio es excepcional, pero todo el equipo es auténtico: un crédito para Bar Angels vino torre.

Yo no soy vegetariana, pero recomiendo encarecidamente el garbanzo curry en el bar torre de vinos. angels No es en el menú principal, pero ya está en el menú del servicio de habitación que normalmente sirven en el bar. Pescado y patatas fritas no es tan bueno y caro en 17 libras.

I've never seen anything like this before but the trapeze artist was amazing. I didn't order the wine, my partner did was over hearing someone else ask the staff knew exactly what was on the menu and the prices. I really enjoyed the red wine we order. We got the cheapest red Merlot I believe and it was very tasty. I'd definitely return here :-)

If you need to stay at Stansted Airport overnight - the Radisson Blu hotel is ideal in the fact that it is only minutes to walk across to the airport, mostly undercover and you can make the stay more part of your holiday by having a meal or bar snack in the Angels' Wine Bar which is situated in the lobby of the hotel, where an "Angel" on wires will fly up the tower to select a bottle of wine for you. The food is good and as airport hotels go, the prices aren't too bad.

Die Hotelbar ist mit dem Glasturm (Weinlager) der Hingucker. Extrem stylisch. In dem Glasturm befindet sich das Weinlager und Seilakrobaten holen die Weinflaschen aus den einzelnen Fächern. In der Zwischenzeit schwingen die Akrobaten auf und ab und hin und her. Die einen mehr die anderen weniger. Wenn man Glück hat sieht man hier eine sehr motivierte hübsche Person oder eben eher das Gegenteil.Die Bar ist ansonsten eine typische Hotelbar und es werden auch Speisen serviert. Die Restaurants sind jedoch gleich um die Ecke, wenn man an richtigen Restauranttischen essen möchte.Preise sind leider sehr hoch.

Are we the only country in the world that does not offer any nibbles with drinks, I certainly expected a few peanuts with mine!! the waiter just shrugged his shoulders when I asked why no nibbles were offered,Please take note that in any civilised place, some sort of offering should be offered, especially when the customer is spending £35.00 for a bottle of very ordinary prosecco

We ordered several cocktails during our charity event the staff were brilliant and nothing seemed a problem , the bar is interesting and the wine tower is a nice touch with ladies flying up and down doing their acrobatics.

Sono stato in questo locale con un collega, ambiente piacevole e tranquillo per parlare di lavoro. Buona scelta di vini e liquori.

This is a must,great food friendly and efficient staff and if it there at the right time you can see the lady on the "trapeze" get a bottle from anywhere from top to bottom of the tower.

En un buen restaurante-bar. Las hamburguesas muy buenas y otros platos también merecen la pena. Pero sobran las mozas.

service was excellent prices were the normal bar is comfy and modern with that amzing tower in the middle of it all. on our return from rome we returned to the bar and the waiter remembered our drinks ,nothing amazing I know but I like that bsort of thing.

Fascinating to see the angels dancing on their elegant way going up and down the tower.You want a bottle of wine they go up the tower to get it for you

As a solo traveller I found it comfortable and relaxing to sit in the Bar area and, though the menu options aren't as huge as the other dining options, there is still enough choice and the Caesar salad I ate was yum. I have free wifi the whole time and plenty of people watching.

The bar is stylish enough, but their drink selection is terrible. The wine angels look silly hovering about - I felt so sorry for them.

Looks to be a great bar set in radison hotel - walking distance to airport. Wine tower impressive to look at and the 'acrobatics' a great distraction from what is average food and overpriced drinks!

Food is of a good quality if a bit on the expensive side. Acrobatics are interesting to watch staff friendly and service was quick.

A torre de vinhos que se localiza no centro do Bar é uma verdadeira atração. A lista de bebidas é muito rica e os coquetéis bem confeccionados. Bebi uma das melhores margaritas e o Rui foi um ótimo anfitrião.

Overpriced and under whelming a typical airport hotel bar, with the wine tower that occasionally a young lady scantily clad uses wires to zip up the tower, once you have seen it it is a bit boring!

Stayed at the hotel and have had pre-dinner drinks here on several occasions and lunch here on at least 2 occasions.Pre Dinner Drinks - friendly staff. Nice mojitos. All well served as you request.Lunch - expensive for what you get but otherwise quite good. Soup on one occasion and was tasty and hot. Salad was good on my second visit.Recomended and good for a quick business meeting whilst very close to the airport.As for the flying angels - ok for men who want to watch women ping up and down a glass tube on a bungee. Not enough to bring a "normal" person in but ok if that's your thing.

I must confess if I was reviewing the food and service I would be sticking my size nines right in, I thought the food in the bar was awful, service was fair at best and the prices unrealistic for the quality of the food offered.If it wasn't for the tower in the middle of the bar which offered some entertainment which helped to distract from the paucity of the food, the theatre created every-time wine was ordered was the saving grace.

We stayed in this hotel on two nights, once before flying out on holiday and again on our return, the first night was very entertaining watching The Angels flying in the tower to retrieve bottles of wine but on our second stay, no Angels were on duty which we found very disappointing and a bit of a con, you cannot have an Angels Bar with no Angels.

I have reviewed the hotel on a number of occasions and have eaten in the restaurants. This time I opted to eat in the bar. The service was first class and the food was well prepared but it was a bit to "artistic" for me. That said its good for a drink and to watch the tower act. The place does have a buzz about it. Would give it another go in the future.

Tried this place twice for a quick bite to eat. I should have walked over to the Burger King at the airport. The first day I ordered a simple menu item. The order was forgotten and after thirty minutes it as finally delivered. The waiter was apologetic and had the meal comped. I tried the place the following day and there was a different waiter, not so patient and not very attentive. A very similar order was placed. I waited twenty five minutes and the order was brought out late...AND wrong. The cook sent an extra order of fries to make up for the lateness but this place is not worthy of another visit...

Neat seeing the waitress go up several stories on a guiding wire to retrieve bottles of wine. We marveled at how agile she was and how many bottle she could carry at one time.
