They dont tell you it can take up to close to 2 hr delivery got an oven pizza was more like melted cheese on a base you couldnt see for it x

I normally don’t complain but the chippy I got tonight was the worst I have ever had I think they must have forgot half of my chips and I was over a hour wait for the delivery and it was cold

Brilliant news premises, the food just as good and some new thing to try out. Staff friendly and helpful

Tried to charge me and my associates for sitting in while it was raining then got particularly rude when challenged

I seen one of the workers spit in my drink because I apparently wasted their time when I was asked to pay £1.60 for sitting in their establishment

So much grease on my chips it's unbelievable but still scranned it anyway

The pizza was not the best I suspect it was a frozen one from a local supermarket Carlos brand and then topped up with cheese and ... the only thing positive was the chips were good .. the staff are overwhelmed with take away orders try there hardest .. the drivers for this establishment just don't cut it ..

Make sure to order from Andy's Golden Fry in Paisley if you can, not Johnstone. The quality of the fish is night and day. The Johnstone one had soggy batter, quite greasy and the actual fish had a mushy texture. Whereas in Paisley the batter was crispy, more fresh and the fish was flaky.

don't bother phoning them as they don't answer for delivery really poor service

I have ordered two pizzas at Andies Golden fry as Punjabi junction closed earlier, I am quite disappointed, pizzas has got luck of products e.g. on meat-fist pizza or pepperoni pizza barely you can see anything, pizzas came quite cold, tasteless I would make better myself for that price. Waiting for the pizzas 1hr 15 min VERY BAD. The good thing is that they adding a wee extra sauce, and the delivery driver is pleasant. NOT RECOMMENDED

Awsome fish and chips if not for how oily it's always is😒😒 if they dried them a bit before serving it would be top notch. Great chips bring a chip fan and great fish but less oily🙏🙏 it would make a world of difference.... for good of course. Cheers

Very disappointed. Delivery was over an hour late. Paid for a buttered roll. Got a dry roll, was so flat it looked like a photograph of a roll. The chips, however we're fine and seemed fresh. Unfortunately the batter on my pizza crunch was like artex. Rock hard and really unpleasant. Not the best experience. I would be reluctant to recommend.

The food is decent but the staff seem pretty useless. One person was focused on a just eat order, the other staff were all standing around, chatting, drinking and checking their phones and ignoring several people waiting to place their orders. I'm sorry but this is just atrocious customer service. Not even an acknowledgement that people were waiting or an apology.

It was very quiet at lunch when there - there were only 6 sitting in in a room that can accommodate about 70. Yummy king rib cooked to order with so many chips that I could not finish them - would easily have been enough for 2! Friendly staff. Food served in polystyrene container with disposable cutlery, presumably to save on washing up. Prices were very reasonable.

I went here instead of McDonalds. I paid £2.80 for chip roll alone!! Compare to McDonalds I could have got a burger and chips for the same money!! The chips were ok … the ketchup was terrible (cheap vinegar solution that totally ruined the chip roll). The roll was supposed to be buttered … I could see bright yellow on the roll as if some cheap margarine had been used. All in all extremely dissatisfying roll and chips and very pricey - you would think a chippy could not go wrong with just a roll and chips but this one managed it. As a result won’t be back again and will stick with trusted McDonalds (or similar) cheaper and far better!

It's nice and bright and clean looking. Food is good too and fresh with good service.

With more local competition Andy's has upped their game accordingly and is providing some of the juiciest, meatiest fish I've had in years. However the service in-store is all about online orders & deliveroo/just eat - have spent many afternoons staring at the 5 ladies behind the desk while 1 or none service an ever growing queue of walk-in customers. No signage to tell customers where to queue up for walk-in so you feel a bit ignored by majority of staff & the lack of coordination leads to queue jumping opportunists. Apparently can't order over the phone anymore which seems ridiculous for the old & less tech-savy (how is it any different to online orders except your staff might actually have to write the order down?). If you order online, you run the risk of it arriving cold as the drivers bundle multiple deliveries to as far as Linwood.

Got a takeaway after moving to the area and being recommended by someone that worked in Morrisons. Had the fish and chips and my partner had the fish box and both were excellent! Will be using more in future for sure...thanks Andy's!

Ordered a pizza crunch supper on the way from tonight, which i had asked for with salt and vingar, always enjoyed food however thos time oh my it was laced with salt and absolutely inedible, that much with the limited amount of the meal i ate caused severe coughing.

Good food at a good price but tables are a disgrace. We requested that the table was cleaned as the food was presented but the request was completely ignored. Other tables were in the same filthy state. The lack of table hygiene could raise questions about hygiene issues elsewhere in the premises if something that simple is an afterthought.Wooden cutlery is pain but possibly a COVID rules throwback. Harsh words but certainly the full truth.

Phoned up because after our order arrived there was an item missing and the girl on the phone made it sound like it was our fault that someone never packed our order right. Made it sound like it’s a bother to have our missing item sent out to us. We use Andy’s often if we fancy a chippy but after tonight we won’t be back.

Just got the lunchtime special £3.95 hamburger and chips. And roll 50p.sat at Houston square 20 seconds away. Chips where cold roll was stale with sour butter and as for the hamburger was all batter and no ham... Sorry I won't be back ever!!!

Not our usual Sunday dinner but fancied chippy chips with dinner, chips were not what they used to be a lot of scrap ends and tasted like reheats, disappointed as i like Andys ,not sure if I'd go back very disappointed.

Ordered up a few bags of chips and sausage supper last night! All I will say is I will never set foot in this place again. The chips were awful, we have been ill today. The only food we all had yesterday was from this chip shop resulting in upset stomachs. The food was either not cooked properly or not cooked in fresh oil. Either way I will not be visiting again!! 😡

Just went to this place .Gave order 3 times.aited for the order for a good 35/45 mins.Then they say need to wait on chips but the phone ins are going out fast.One of the girls eating a roll with chips while seving.Asked for my order again and still got it wrong.NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. Your food is okay your delivery driver is creepy af won’t be getting other deliver. So he delivered a few times to my mums House he made few weird comments I thought that was that but then he found me all social platforms e.g Facebook Snapchat really not shoot about this I have no idea how he got my full name

Had been driving all day and was in the mood for something to eat after skipping on dinner. Andy's Golden Fry is a place that has had good word of mouth reviews as being one of the top Chip Shops in Scotland, having one national awards and spoken about as Renfrewshires best chippy. As for passing by Johnstone, thought I would take the chance to visit. Large chip shop with all the usual things on the menu. Ordered a Haggis Supper and a can of Irn Bru, and was freshly prepared in no time. Really good prices, as I have paid almost double in other places, with a really large portion. If in the area really worth checking out.

My partner had decided after 10pm he fancied a chippy so called Andys but actually wish I hadn't bothered for him put it this way the ice cream in the freezer wldve been warmer so the dog ended up with the fish and pie he never complains about stuff being cold but tonight he did so it must've been...so it's a no no

Very disappointed this visit last Friday. The was meant as a treat for the tamily-never again! We had been looking forward to this all day. We ordered two single fish, a fish supper and two sausage suppers. What can I say. The fish was undercooked, there wasn't much batter, it was very greasy and was stuck to the paper. The food came in paper wrapping rather than a container. Even with the sausage supper the sausages we're sticking to the paper. The staff were rude also. We won't be returning. There used to be a time when we really loved the food and kept coming back. But not anymore!

Currently in lockdown and had a craving for a chippy. Ordered and paid for on just eat and it arrived when it said it would. Really enjoyed it and will be back soon for more.

Placed my order on Friday night about 7.30pm. lady put my curry sauce in a tub on the counter. After numerous people got their orders in front of me with fresh food coming out of the fryer it was after 8pm! The final straw was when I saw my food going into a takeaway box. Seems like they are more bothered about Just Eat orders than people coming in. I walked out even after paying it was that bad. Happy to take the £10 hit to make a point. Won't be going back there again. Such a shame as the food is pretty decent.

Popped in at 5:10PM tonought. It wasn't very busy considering the time of day. Ordered by single special fish and two pickles. I counted 13 people served before I got my meal.... with only one pickle. How long to does it take to cook a fish? Not ten minutes! Got my order at 5:20. Fish was freshly cooked. Chips were barely tepid. Pickle#2... missing! Won't be back, ever.

After the last few times of ordering from here, I'd never do it again. Even going into the place is unpleasant, I feel like a lot of the time, the girls behind the counter are snarky and rude. Funnily enough, it isn't just me that thinks this about the service, numerous other people dislike the attitude of the servers and I don't think it'll just be exclusive to those that I know. One of my orders managed to take over an hour and a half to arrive, despite myself being local to the area. There are much better chippies in the Johnstone area with much better service, I can't imagine that I'll be going here any time soon. The food isn't even good at this point either. Lmao, imagine even going here.

Great portions, decent prices, good quality fish and chips. Can get busy in peak periods but the cheerful staff have it all under control and keep track of everyone's orders. My favourite local chippy.

Love coming here when am in Johnstone, best value for money. Only get to come here 2 or 3 times a year..

What can I say! This is the best wee Fish and Chip shop I’ve ever been to. The quality of food is always good. Their fish is delicious. The staff are nice and friendly. Maybe not always the quickest of service when very busy. Yet worth the wait!

The fish in this restaurant is always freshly cooked, that is because it is a popular place and there are good reasons for that. Staff are pleasant, quality of food is very good and prices accaptable

Really good quality chippy at a very good price. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Johnstone. The munchie boxes are cool and the fish is spot on. Never swimming in grease like some places.

Well what can I say this was the worst takeaway ever. We went to Andys Golden Fry in Johnstone tonight.

I visited here on a Friday night and my friend and I were the only two in it. There were chips all over the floor and one girl doing her best to serve and collect the money whilst her colleague stood tapping the counter with her fingers. My looks of utter despair must have spurred her to put down her drink and help. Once they finished serving they proceeded to continue chat and stand about rather than have quick tidy for the next customers. Food was ok but not good enough for me to return.

Food is great, staff are lovely and friendly, restaurant is spacious and clean and price is right. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is the fact that the sitting area is not surprisingly warm but so much so that we left earlier than we planned due to the temperature. Although there was an air conditioning unit in place it was blowing out tepid air which simply added to the humidity!

went in with grandkids for snacks only to be told they had no bread for toasties or sandwiches so had to leave as that was all the kids wanted, sadly this was not the first time this has happened, won't be going back.
