Great food ,first class service and genuinely lovely staff

Always had good service here and there’s a good vegan menu with several options.

First visit to Andiamo with a friend for lunch. On entering the restaurant we were extremely impressed by the decor - beautiful modern space - the toilets are lovely - I always judge a restaurant by the WC’s - if they are not up to scratch I will drop my review by a star. The bar area is sparkly and trendy - good spot for a nice cocktail. We ate from the set menu - 2 courses for £17 - we both had Polo Stroganoff- an ample size for lunch - followed by Meringhe con la Panna which was huge. A bottle of Sauvignon Blanc at £28 was a reasonable price - followed by nice hot Irish Coffees. The food was tasty and the staff really attentive. When our waitress brought over the wine she noticed one of the glasses had a finger mark on it (we hadn’t noticed ) but she changed it straight away. Will definitely return.

Bit too southern Italian, pasta arabiata. Chilli mixed to the point where the pasta is what you get when you cross penne with a tactical thermonuclear device. Squid was homemade and OK... panne cotta was good and the cocktails nice. £128 for two. Big down side? Empty restaurant yet they sat someone next to us, what's more their daytime job must have been a town crier or strapped to mast to warn ships off in a fog.

We ordered the Cabana Pizza (ham and pineapple) and asked that the Ham was removed and replaced with Mushroom - instead the restaurant sent the pizza with Ham and Mushroom, and no pineapple.

We booked a table at Andiamo for a catch-up with friends. I'd been here years previously and had a great meal so was looking forward to it. It was a Thursday night so as expected, the restaurant was fairly empty, however we were looking to have a quiet meal so that suited us just fine. The wait staff took our drink and food order and up until this point everything was going well. Then the food came out. While my calamari and my daughter's garlic bread was fine, my friend's pate was discoloured as it had oxidised, and her daughter, who had ordered the caprese salad was met with tomatoes that were so over-ripe that you couldn't lift them with a fork and the mozzarella was very mushy. When we mentioned this, the server blamed the olive oil for this. We then pinned our hopes on the main courses. I ordered the veal, which came out overcooked and chewy and the truffle fries had been cooked for so long that I couldn't get through them with a fork. My friends salmon niçoise salad was dry and tasteless with grey olives in it and her daughter's pesto spaghetti was essentially a bowl of oil with spaghetti in it. For a meal that cost £152, we couldn't eat most of it and were left very disappointed. We decided not to risk dessert. It was also very difficult to find a member of staff around to order more drinks, we ordered an additional coke which didn't come and so we had to ask someone else for drinks. Again it was difficult to ask for the bill as the staff seemed to have disappeared and then a good while longer until we were able to pay. My friend's daughter took unwell shortly after coming home and while I can't tell for sure, I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with her dinner. I will not be returning to Andiamo. A restaurant that started so well serving fresh Italian food is now something that I don't recognise. Not somewhere that I would recommend anyone to visit.

Food very overpriced, alot of the food was very average, service was strange, felt as if the waitress was doing us a favour when ordering, definitely would never go back

£70 for bland, dry, frozen food! It was only me and my mum in the restaurant and now I understand why. I’d personally avoid. Our server had really poor customer service. Chicken was extremely dry. Burger and bruschetta was tasteless. Truthfully, I enjoy my own cooking 10x more. Decor outdated & tacky. No atmosphere & loud irritating music.

Beautiful surroundings with fabulous service.foof good and varied choice.Sophie was particularly helpful and opened side door for me as I have mobility issues.will be back

Had a rather unfortunate Sunday lunch here with my family. For family reasons it was not really the kind of situation in which I was able to complain about the food at the time, but my goodness it was grim. I and my wife both ordered Spaghetti al aglio, olio e peperoncino. It was probably the worst plate of food I have ever been served in a restaurant. It is beyond me how a supposedly "Italian" restaurant could have in its employ a chef who literally did not know how to make this very simplest of Italian meals. The spaghetti was overcooked, dry and stuck together. The vast amount of garlic in it was completely uncooked to the extent that it was painful in the stomach for the rest of the day. It had no seasoning on it whatsoever. Spaghetti al aglio, olio e peperoncino is obviously a very very simple dish so it feels impolite to complain about the cost to restaurant / cost to customer ratio, but here I think it is fair. Perhaps 50 pence at most of ingredients put together in a way that caused physical pain through the rest of the day, priced at £15! My brother in law made heavy dutiful weather of a stodgy and sickly sweet salciccia picante pizza on which the chef had apparently misunderstood the difference between caramelised onions and jam. I can't speak to everyone else's food, but I obviously have my suspicions that everyone was holding in opinions in the same way. Families can be odd groupings... The waiting staff were lovely, but the food was frankly farcical.

Great food selection & very good quality with good sized portions. Come here regularly & service is always amazing however on this occasion our waitress appeared to be in a dreadful mood drawing her eyes off us when she took our drinks order & we said we were ready to order food as had been waiting about 25 mins. Made us all feel quite uncomfortable. But will be back as all the other staff are always great :-)

I hesitated to do a review as I don't like to be negative. We were looking forward to dining here and on arrival it looked lovely. We had a reservation and arrived bang on time. It was a lovely evening and as it was a Saturday we were surprised that it was so quiet lots of empty tables. There was a man standing waiting to pay. There was no front of house person to greet people. Staff were scurrying round but not taking any notice of either the man or us. Eventually, a girl who looked like a manager, simply because she was not dressed as the waiting staff were, came over and the man asked to pay. We said we have a table booked. She dealt with us first which was a bit embarrassing. She took our name and said 'oh your table isn't ready' which was odd given the amount of set, empty tables.. she told us to just go through to the bar which we did. There was one girl working her socks off making drinks most of which went to the few occupied tables outside. She kind of ignored us for some time so we asked for the cocktail menu and stood there waiting to order and she eventually said she would come over and take our order and so we went to a table in the bar area to sit. Another couple also came in to wait and there were also others waiting. Eventually our drink order was taken but it was a while before we got them. We were then called to our table. We had looked at the menu while waiting so knew what we wanted. A lovely waitress came and took our order. And then we waited.. and waited .. and waited. By this time it was over an hour after we had arrived. The waiting staff worked flat out but there just weren't enough of them. The girl who seemed in charge was waiting tables also. If it had been any busier it would have been impossible. Our food eventually came and I have to say it was lovely. We asked for another drink which came almost as we finished. The girl on the bar was doing her best but there should have been more than one on the bar since a couple of large groups of people seemed to be sitting just drinking outside. The drinks were very expensive. We were in the restaurant well over 2 hours and we only had one course and 2 drinks, 2 of which were soft drinks. It just wasn't the experience we expected. I was in Nostrana in Hyndland Road the night before .. we had amazing food and service and a great atmosphere and it was packed. Andiamo should have been a good experience but it wasn't, which was a shame as the food, once we got it, was very good. I gave 2 stars for service but I have to say that the staff were trying but there just weren't enough of them. There were no apologies or explanations offered. Sorry but I wouldn't go back.

Wrong food was delivered. I ordered the pollo fritto and was given two mozzarella sticks.

Visited for lunch with some friends.. the restaurant itself is stunning - very glitzy! The staff were friendly and helpful. We opted for the lunch menu as it had quite a good selection.. I had the haggis balls as a starter and they were pretty good.Other opted for the mozzarella sticks and we're not quite so impressed.. too large and very chewy to really enjoy them. The mains were nice.. I had chicken in creamy sauce with rice and it was good. Others selected the grilled salmon - it was the pick of the mains- fresh, loads of flavour and well presented. The other main order was a pizza.. great base with more then enough toppings... (half it was boxed up takeaway) Desserts - we all had the chocolate cake with cream.. fantastic - but then nobody does desserts better than the Italian

Food was amazing and delivered hot

Very disappointed. Came here tonight for the first time for date night and will not be returning. After ordering drinks apon sitting down, we ordered a daquiri ‘straight up’ which arrived with big chunks of ice in it. We were then left for at least 15 minutes with not a single staff member in sight. Which is a long time when your hungry and ready to order. All the staff were congregating at the bar too busy chatting amongst themselves to adhere to our order. Food then arrived rather quickly after finally ordering, however there was not much to be excited about. The ravioli was bland, no hint of chilli as the menu stated, sauce tasted like out of a jar. The carbonara was the worst we’ve ever had, had no taste, no flavour, the pancetta was bunched up in clumps undercooked, the sauce was nonexistent and left a tangy taste of raw egg. The waitress picked our plates up and asked if we wanted to take it home, instead of questioning why we left a full plate of food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very flat with barely any music, leaving us to hear all the staffs conversations. Would not recommend or return.

Dined here a couple of weeks ago and we were quite disappointed. It’s great that they have a gluten free menu but when the bread and oil arrived it looked like it was straight off the shop aisles. The food was pretty greasy and none of us were impressed. Nice friendly service though! But sadly we won’t be back. This place could do with some up to date decor (it’s very old fashioned style wise) and a new menu with fresher ingredients.

Poor service- overpriced food. Disappointed. Italian restaurants need to try hard to stand out- this was pretty ordinary at expensive prices. Service awkward and patchy. All in all a cringy experience, not enjoyable.

Took my mother here for lunch. The lunch menu was really cheap considering the quality food and location of the restaurant. We were very satisfied. I had the chicken stroganoff which was delicious. The minestrone soup was the best I've ever had.

The best risotto I have ever tasted. Great to see a range of gluten free options, and the staff were super friendly and helpful along the way.

Love this place. Food is excellent. We came last year while on camping trip and made a plan for a whole day again this year around making sure we could eat here again. Highly recommend xx

This is just eats drivers fault and not andimao ! food was marked delivered just short of 30 min before it turned up cold and inedible.

An utter disappointment. At first it was a very nice, eclectic atmosphere. But after an hour, service was dreadful, the food overrated and expensive. Blunt, no taste, and it was served in a tinfoil on plate! Definitely not recommend it for it's service and prices.

Used our itison voucher that was a Christmas gift on Sunday afternoon. Organised a baby sitter and ended up running late for our booking, we phoned up in advance to check this was okay and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating to us which was appreciated. When we arrived the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch at the table. The drinks menu was covered in dried up pasta sauce which was very off putting. These should be easy to wipe down but had obviously sat for a while. The floor was also a disgrace. If you have white tiles and are serving pizzas and pastas, I'm afraid you are going to have to get a brush and shovel and agive the floor a spray/wipe after cleaning the tables. It was really grubby and very noticeable. The itison menu was fine with a varied choice, but felt that we got treated differently to those paying a la carte. Just simple things like my partner ordering pate and being served oatcakes rather than the bread that was on the menu without explanation. But the table next to us who order afterwards were given the lovely fresh bread. The staff also weren't particularly attentive. I sat with an empty glass from before my main meal arriving, and none of the waiting staff asked if we were okay or wanted more drinks at any point during the main or dessert course. They put down and cleared the plates without asking if we needed anything else or even rehung the clear the empty glasses. Only the waiter at the end end offered teas and coffees but by that point we just wanted out as the service felt completely off. Would maybe be helpful if you had the staff cover certain tables and they could give better customer service. We had 5 different waiting staff during a 3 course meal, so one or two to a section would probably run smoother and be better managed. I think that is the first time I've ever left a restaurant or licensed premises without tipping but the service was really not good at all. Which is a shame as the food and wine was lovely.

Got this for a gift for Xmas did not disappoint the meal was lovely staff very friendly and helpful nothing was to much bother we had the 3 coarse lunch time menu it was well worth the money and the food was excellent.

Second time at Andiamo's within 4 weeks with my partner. I phoned the booking a week in advance and requested a window seat which we where not given on the night despite noticing other empty ones and the fact a couple coming in after us got one which was slightly disappointing. I had breaded mushrooms to start with and offered one to my partner and on eating this he pulled out a fairly big piece of white plastic he called the waiter over and he said he would take it to the manager but no one got back to explain anything or apologise for this so therefore no mention or compensation which I found quite unbelievable. I couldn't fault the food or service but because of this incident I don't think I'd go back. On reading other reviews I have noticed the manager only seems to reply to the good ones. Pretty poor indeed.

I ordered a burger and chips! Usually it's terrific, however not tonight! The meal was swimming in salt and pepper! it completely overpowered the meal and after a quarter of it and a litre of water, I had to throw the rest in the bin! Shame as without the OTT amount of seasoning, I'm sure it would have been excellent!

Food let you down…. Starters (soup and mushrooms) were quite nice. Main courses were awful, fish smelled badly, chips were not hand cut chips both cooked when the oil was not hot enough. Pizza was poor. We were asked at the start of the second course if everything was ok , my wife replied it’s ok and I stated no, an alternative was offered and declined. I paid the full amount for the meal with no discount asked for by me and not offered by the restaurant.

Don't recommend Andiamos,quality of food really less than average. Also have witnessed senior member staff bullying young member of staff. I have heard this is quite common practice in that place. Unpleasant to witness and very unprofessional, won't be back and certainly won't recommending it to anyone! Shame on you Andiamos!

Absolutely perfect! We shared the mussels and calamari for starter and each had a pasta main! Food was 1st class delicious - staff were friendly and attentive and atmosphere lovely!

Lovely meal can’t fault anything

I know there is a "cost of living crisis" but for 02 January evening the restaurant was the quietest we have seen. Have been coming for over twenty years and even the staff looked new - change of management ? Talking of staff the service was very poor - I left no tip. The waitress made it plain she would rather be elsewhere and needs training that service with a smile ( however false ) enhances the customer experience. In terms of the food and drinks - no Rose wine was available, no sticky toffee pudding, and the gluten-free toast was so poor compared to previous visits - it looked like standard defrosted supermarket GF bread with a piece of cheese placed on top. We decided we will not return as there are plenty of alternatives. A real shame really.

Absolutely awful New Year Eve food was dreadful no vegatables or condiments on table £75 each. Avoid at all costs. DJ was a joke never opened his mouth to greet anyone, downloaded music !! One person was smoking vape disgraceful

Usually good, one pizza cold, one good, slow delivery

Last Wednesday my son took me, my wife, his partner and his 2 young children for an early dinner at Andiamo. I ordered Lasagna. When it arrived, I found it served very hot in the dish (as they usually are in restaurants) but the mozzarella topping was so stringy that I found it almost impossible to separate and difficult to eat. The centre of the dish was solid lumps of pasta (which I left) with the only meat evident round the edges and that didn't taste very good. On reflection, I should have returned the dish but instead I left most of it rather than cause a fuss. The journey home involves a drive of an hour and a half. An hour into the journey I began to feel so unwell with excruciating stomach pain that I had to stop the car and ask my wife to drive the rest of the way. When I got home, I was shivering and feeling so unwell that I went to bed immediately. It got worse. After midnight, I was violently sick and vomited my stomach contents (Lasagna!). In the morning I suffered diarrhea and felt so unwell that most of Thursday was lost. When my son phoned to speak to the female manager to explain what had happened, she undertook to speak to the chef and phone him back. This she did explaining that the lasagna had been prepared on Monday and was a reheat in the pizza oven. Her response was to ask if I had a doctor's note to prove that I was unwell. There was no hint of an apology or any other gesture of goodwill. To me it was a dreadful experience and we will certainly not be returning.

Won’t be back. Food and service was very poor. We even had one family member with food poisoning after the dodgy lasagne. Despite calling to let the manager know there was no apology or offer of any gesture of goodwill. Quite unbelievable really. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else who value their customers.

A quiet Monday lunch - delicious food with efficient service. The restaurant is large but diners were seated close enough to create a bit of atmosphere.

This is our second visit here. We had enjoyed the first visit, so returned. We were a party of 4 for lunch. The servers were all dressed in Halloween costumes so that was fun. The restaurant is large inside but I reckon there were only 10-12 tables occupied throughout our stay. The service wasn’t great from the start, however it became non-existent after a while. We had finished our main courses and they had been cleared. We continued sitting chatting then realised that we hadn’t seen a server in quite a while (20 minutes or more - and we were in a section with 6 occupied tables). One of us went and collected dessert menus from a server at the door, stating that we were a bit short of time. Regardless, we were ignored on the one further occasion that a server passed our table. We decided to skip dessert and coffee and just went and asked for the bill. The food - which had been very good last time - was very disappointing. 2 of us had fried mushrooms and 2 had soup - these all were ok. However the mains (chicken burger, 2 pizzas and risotto) were pretty lacking in taste although they were large servings. I left a lot on my plate yet no-one asked if everything was ok with the food. The bill for the above - plus 8 soft drinks - was £31 each which wasn’t great value considering the quality of food and service. To be fair to the servers, there appeared to be only 3 of them doing serving, greeting at the door and working the bar - but it was not busy and they were posted missing for an extended period of time. I hate doing a review like this - the vast majority of my 1500 reviews are in the “Very good” category- but I thought it only proper to flag this.

Pizza quality is excellent as usual. Unfortunately, it was a little cold by the time it arrived.

We visited for a family meal, the food was fantastic, good portions, fresh, hot and super tasty but my word the staff were atrocious. Not a smile between any of them, sullen, avoided eye contact at all costs to the point each of us was trying to catch someone’s eye for 10/15 mins at a time to order drinks. One blond female server managed to take a drinks order from us without uttering one word or making any eye contact. On the way out we said goodbye to her and she just shot us a look and carried on walking by. She was the worst but the others were similar although managed a word or nod here or there. Something has to be wrong for everyone we encounter to be so withdrawn. On the basis of the awkward, verging on unpleasant service, we probably won’t return despite the fantastic food.

Had a lovely family meal. All our food tasted lovely,nice and hot and well presented. Both our servers were very friendly with great customer service. Would recommend a lovely place for a day/night out!

The food is great, tastes amazing and the amount of food is just right. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I think it is worth it because every meal I've had is lovely. The staff are polite, helpful and welcoming. When we were there they were setting up for someone's 70th so it seems they do go above and beyond if asked. The only thing I can say bad is the menu could have more on it to select from, but that's only because I want to try something different there.

overpriced and not very authentic

There was a good selection of mains, we didn’t order starters, just as well as the portion sizes were large. The mains arrived in a timely fashion. 3 of us ordered the after eight dessert, but they were out of after eights which was disappointing. My husband ordered a coffee to come with the dessert and it never came, the desserts took a while too. Overall however the meal was delicious, apparently Alan made my risotto, well done Alan it was lush. Everyone enjoyed their meals if you hadn’t have run out of after eights and forgot the coffee I would have given 5 stars (and a bigger tip) still a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ will come again

This is the best experience Italian experience we ever had in Glasgow! We have been served by Hannah, who was lovely and very attentive. Amazing decor and fab atmosphere. We will definitely be back again! J&A

Food was surprisingly delicious and great portions. Quite expensive but then most eating establishments are at present. Service was slow to remove empty plates but otherwise all good. Just one thing could be improved - put soft socks on the base legs of chairs. The scraping noise on the floor when other guests moved chairs was horrendous. Easily remedied

Wnet to this place with my hen party in June 2023 and we all loved it! Great decor and range of food, including vegan and gluten free menus. I had a great Aperol Spritz and a delicious lobster ravioli. 💯 Recommend

We went for a family celebration and was unfortunately let down by service. Food is ok, though nothing special, but their service is really lacking. Long wait times and lack of attentiveness to customers. Some staff walk around emotionless and like zombies. Not good value for money. Was unfortunate as we were looking forward to this celebration- won’t be back

Shocking. Food average and overpriced. Service slow. Went there for daughters 21st and embarrassed us by challenging age AT THE TABLE in front of the group. This was AFTER already serving us all several drinks! Will not be back and I wouldn’t go either unless you want a special occasion ruined.

Order completely wrong - supposed mix up at restaurant. Will need to wait a few days for refund. Took a chance with restaurant but probably won’t order from them again. Appreciate place can be busy but order should still be correct.

We dined here as a family of 3 (2 adults + one 3 year old). Dedicated kids menu and gluten-free menu, and dealt very well with my husband's gluten and dairy allergies. Delicious Italian food - the mussels were super fresh! Lovely bright and spacious seating area. Would recommend, if you're in the area.

Lovely looking restaurant and we were seated quickly. Attentive staff and served in good time. We ordered the Andiamo combo, a calzone and mushroom ravioli. Thoroughly enjoyed each dish. Will gladly visit again.

They mistakenly forgot about us! but the waitress did offer to compensate for our wait!! And we noticed later that our bill had been reduced!! We will go back it was handled well by the staff & the food was fantastic..

Tasty Italian cuisine, prices that won't break that bank. The staff handled our party of 20 admirably. Misunderstanding over an extra dish that wasn't ordered being billed to us was easily cleared up. Parking close might be an issue at busy times, as there's only a small car park attached to the restaurant.

With 22 of us celebrating a special event, we went to Andiamo's last night. I've passed it many times when visiting Milngavie, and wondered what it was like. Now I know! Excellent. The service was great and very efficient. The food did not disappoint, and we all had different things. There was a nice ambience to the place. I will certainly go again and I recommend it highly.

Fantastic meal for both of us. Great slection on menu and service excellent. Have been previously and would certainly come again.
