I was really disappointed, service was slow, starter and main were tipid, close to cold. Plates were chipped and no dessert menu. Food was bland. Deeply disappointed

Good food,good staff. Ambience is next level. But beware of glass door. 😀

Absolute joke, ordered poori and they gave me brown small chappti, they said this is the style, like I've not ordered from order places. Absolutely dissapointed and tried to tell me I'm wrong

I visited this restaurant with two friends, and we ordered a variety of dishes, including one masala dosa and one plain dosa. The experience was terrible. Both friends who ate the dosa fell sick with diarrhoea by the end of the day, which still hasn’t resolved. The service was just as bad—slow and careless. If there were an option for no star, we would give that. What we ordered doesn't even qualify as a dosa—we've had far better dosas at many other places. The food hygiene, taste, and service were all extremely poor. Definitely not a place we’d return to.

Food is superb!!! Deserve 5 stars but Service alas lacked..staff not paying attention. It was super busy but ive eaten at their branch in Harehills and it's always busy , but their service is always excellent!

"I visited Anand Sweets last Saturday LS6 with high hopes, but unfortunately, the service fell far below expectations. The staff seemed inattentive and uninterested. I arrived at 9:00 PM, but they were reluctant to take my order. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we had to remind them to take my order. Despite several attempts to get their attention, I waited 50 minutes to receive my food—paneer dosa and halwa poori. Even basic requests like water took far too long to fulfill. Although the food was good, the extended waiting time left us extremely hungry. When I requested one more dosa at around 9:55 PM, they informed me that their kitchen was closed and they couldn’t prepare my order. I explained that I had already waited 50 minutes and he said we were to busy but there was only 4 customers in the store at that time. for my food, but they responded that there was nothing they could do. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place until significant improvements are made to their service."

Great option for south Indian food. Must recommend picks masala dosa & Gajar halwa. Staff was awesome and very friendly. Give it a go if you something authentic indian.

Worst service, it is going down really fast, the service at Harehills is a lot better. Please train the staff.

It’s the second time I’ve experienced something like this. I am very much intrigued by what goes into consideration before taking an order from a customer it’s clearly not first come first serve. Is it the skin tone or the language someone speaks honestly disgusting service. It took about an hour to get some tea served food was horrible could taste the raw batter out of the dosa. The boy never even bothered to apologise for the same.

A great place to grab a nice vegetarian meal. Their thalis are tasty and everything has a lovely home cooked flavour.

I arrived here after driving from Brighton, what a relief to be able to park directly outside and sit in this very peaceful and clean restaurant, friendly welcoming staff and great food, I ordered the Double Samosa Chat with Chapati, great light snack but filling. I left with a car full of take aways and vegan sweats, I highly recommend this place along with its original branch in Harehills, just wish we had something like this in Brighton.

Great option for vegetarians who loves especially South Indian foods and sweets. Staffs was very awesome and welcoming.👍

Recently I went to Leeds and had an amazing time dining at Anand Sweets. A place filled with authentic flavors and tons of vegetarian options, it felt like I'm back at home. I really enjoyed Aloo Tikki Chaat and Rasmalai, but their parathas stole the show. Crispy on the outside, it was packed with flavor. So if you're missing Indian street food, this is the place!

Ordered one of each vegan product today & I really want to shout out the staff who could not have been more friendly & helpful. You can tell they felt really passionate about the shop. The sweets are all lovely, very fresh, like nothing I’ve ever had before! 10/10!!!!

I had for lunch at this place they serving very tasty and authentic Indian food. I had vada pav, pav bhaji also parathas taste were amazing. Staff were so welcoming and attentive. Prices are also very attractive. If you want taste like home highly recommend place.

Worst service by Anand sweets they take order they will say it will take 15 minutes they will not even provide food at the time which is preordered for takeaway literally they took 40 minutes to give our food which was pre ordered

I really liked it here, the staff were really easy to chat to and get along with and the food was delicious! I've been a bit of a pauper lately and I would have liked some rice to come included with my curry but the prices are very fair, to be fair, so when I'm rich again I probably won't think twice about it 🙂 srsly dudes it's really nice food give it a try ❤️

As food always attracts, the customer service makes feel to never come back. Never listen to the order properly neither interested to help, never send cutleries(disposable spoons)with even the big takeaway orders even after specially mentioned to send it along

They need to stop weighing sweets along with the box. We should be paying for the sweet not the box it comes in.

I recently had a rather disappointing experience at your restaurant, where the service was far below expectations. The issue started when I called to place an order, and the staff member answered seemed completely unprepared to handle the request. When I asked about the menu, her responses were vague and unhelpful, which made it difficult to finalize my choices. It became clear that she either didn’t know the menu well or simply wasn’t trained to take orders over the phone. To make matters worse, when I politely asked for clarification on a few items, her tone became increasingly dismissive. She was unprofessional and seemed uninterested in assisting, which is a major red flag for any business. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect, but instead, I was met with a lack of courtesy and poor communication skills. This experience left me frustrated, and it was clear that the staff member was not equipped to provide even the basic level of customer service expected in a restaurant setting. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and provides their staff with proper training in customer interaction and phone etiquette. It’s a shame because the food itself has potential, but the service definitely needs improvement.

The quality of thali getting decreased day by day. The way they put chapati with the rice at the side in type of tissue is really bad. The sabji of potato was not properly cooked, also the bitter taste of mustard made the sabji worst and too much mustard seed were there.

I been today Anand sweets in lunch time with my wife. We order the food and the waiter gave us only empty glasses no water in there we got food . While eating the food was stuck my wife's throat we waited couple of minutes nobody was at the counter. Then I waited at counter then the I call the worker and told him about the water he said ok he took the jug of water and still taking to the other people who were in the kitchen .. He was standing around the counter .I had to scream for water. I mean how any worker can be so lazy this is very ridiculous. And at last he put the jug of water on table very rudely. This is very disgusting behaviour .we would not like to go there now .even though we were regular customer of anand sweets but not anymore.

Food is delicious but the service is getting worse day by day . I ordered samosa and i mentioned please give me chutney with samosas they forget and next time they forget curtleries. Everytime they made mistakes and ready with excuses thats it.

Simply the best North Indian vegetarian cafe and traditional sweets shop in Leeds. The Aloo Paratha is the closest to my mum’s and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Beautifully clean and bright restaurant. Friendly welcoming staff. Authentic, wonderfully flavoured, reasonably priced vegetarian food. The range of curries is great and the weekend Dosa has to be tried - it's great. Good value thalis if you can't make your mind up, but make sure you leave space for the sweets...

I bought Kaju Katli from them and before purchasing I specifically asked if they have the silver chamki on them. They said yes and I took it home only for me to open it at home a see there was no chamki except on 1 piece. They attest alright but I was a little disappointed.

They have the worst staff ever. I have never met such people in my life. They can’t handle the rush time situation. The staff dont know proper instructions about the queue. We waited 30 to 40 mins in line to get our food. And then when we reached the counter they said there is different line for sweets, I confronted them at that particular time but the only answer they had is we can’t do anything. And when we had an argument about this they said they will not serve us. We were returning the food back and asking for refund they said with so much arrogance that they will not refund we can take food and go out. I would have given minus stars for service today but I didn’t had the option. I was their customer for so long but I guess they don’t care about anything, they dont care about customers. What matters to them is just money I guess. I forgot to take name of that lady who said she will not refund and even the 2 staff members who said there is only one queue. So disappointed!!

Today,I went for breakfast and ordered Halwa Puri.First of all,the food was cold and ghee/oil whatever used in halwa, was not good and smelly. It's my 2nd visit in this restaurant because l got good food last time. So I was expecting the same taste in the food.

I recently ordered a dosa, and it took an unreasonable 45 minutes for the food to arrive. I’m not sure if the kitchen is struggling with the order volume or if something went wrong with the preparation, but this delay was quite disappointing. I expected much quicker service, especially for a dish like dosa that typically doesn’t take so long to prepare. I hope the restaurant improves their speed and efficiency in handling orders moving forward.

Really gives the home feel here in Leeds.

One thing needs to be updated, they should put a banner that the last food order is 10:00 PM . Can't get food besides sweets literally an hour before the shown closing time, 11:00 PM.

Absolutely amazing food and service all the time every time.

I found a hair in my masala dosa,which is unacceptable. Please ensure better hygiene in food preparation and recently "I ordered a spicy masala dosa, but the spiciness was concentrated in just one bite, leaving the rest of it mild. The spice level should be evenly distributed throughout the dish”. The kitchen team often fails to provide good service and good food, alwayyyssss!!!

Great Vegetarian Authentic Indian Food on a Budget

Expanted recently. But very much delayed service.even for possible ready to eat items. Servers Could not handle too many orders and crowd.

Tasty vegetarian food, great value and with friendly service. Don't be put off by the basic decor, it's clean with fast service which was great for us. We were at a venue near by and ate there twice over the weekend as it was so good ( brunch and dinner) plus we bought snacks from the shop and had some of the yummy sweet selection.

Nice little place to have authentic Indian breakfast.

Waited 30 minutes for 2 naan bread which turned out cold in the end. It looked very hectic after their renovation and was full of delivery services that i couldn't get to the till properly.

i am enjoying food & sweets from anand sweets from last 2 years .. taste & service is on point but every-time there is this one girl throws random attitude .. today i went for buying rakhi & asked if rasmalai ingredients to consume it on fast or no .. this same girl was on counter rolled her eye & responded very poorly with attitude .. no other thoughts but otherwise all good 👍🏻

It clearly shows shop closes at 11:00pm and we got there by 10:30 and we were not served. Disappointed.

Service - It’s a no frills place, we’re not expecting red carpet silver spoon service but the staff are absolutely lovely, super friendly, super attentive and just overall really nice. Atmosphere - No frills place full of local people wanting to enjoy some delicious food, recently undergone a refurb and is genuinely a really nice place to eat! Food - Food was absolutely superb, not a single note for it just wonderful all round. Value - insanely good value, some of the tastiest curries I’ve had for like £6? Where can you find such flavour for these prices in Leeds anymore? You simply can’t! Halwa puri - We didn’t realise this was a breakfast item and not really something to order as part of a regular evening meal. No matter, it was really delicious. Delicately crispy puri with the delicious sweet halwa and beautifully spiced chickpeas and vegetables. Works so so well, the intense sweetness and the curried vegetables you would think don’t match, they do! They absolutely do. Really really gorgeous, definitely a great breakfast food. Saag kofta - the saag sauce was delicate but packed with flavour, very spinachy but not at all slimey. Tasted really fresh and the spices just sang through the sauce. So good. Perhaps the koftas were a little too soft for my personal taste but really delicious all the same. Shahi paneer - really beautiful heavily seasoned gravy with delicate but firm and fresh paneer pieces. Often times paneer can be so hard and dense, this tasted fresh, light and blended so well with the gravy. So so so so good. Allo bengan - the star of the show for me without a doubt, this was so good. The smokiness of the aubergines providing the base flavour for the dish, with soft but toothsome flavourful onions. Omg this is so good my words don’t do justice. This, mixed with some rice, with a little lime pickle mopped up with some chapati. It’s over. Amazing place overall, you have to try here now!

Homestyle food Indian food. That's the only good thing about this restaurant. Sweets quality could be better, however hot food is good.

Drove all the way here today (10/07/24) to get some samosas and pakoras for the match and they’ve put the shutters down and closed up! It’s 20:00, they’re advertised to be open until 23:00 on google!!! This is completely unacceptable behaviour! At least have the decency to amend your opening hours on google if you’re going to randomly decide to shut up shop early! FOR THE MANAGER’S ATTENTION (because you had the audacity to respond saying I was referring to your other branch and that my review was incorrect): I AM REFERRING TO THE QUEEN’S ROAD BRANCH (I am a customer for well over a decade, I know all your branches very well thank you so do not try to make out that I am wrong - to do so is just grossly unprofessional on your part.)!!! IF YOU ARE CLOSED FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN YOUR STATED/ADVERTISED HOURS ON GOOGLE E.G. for REFURBISHMENT YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR GOOGLE OPENING HOURS TO “TEMPORARILY CLOSED”! Authentic North Indian vegetarian food. Outstanding service. In 4.99 the thali had two bhaturas, rice, two curries, poppadum and pickle. Cannot fault the service. Prompt, respectful and smiley. We were served by Gagan, who was outstanding all service with a smile. I work for NHS but with construction on at home was in tatty clothes, but still their service was brilliant. it appeared that they respected the customer not their appearance. Would go their again and would highly recommend to try at least once ( having eaten at almost all Indian restaurants in Leeds and Bradford). Thanks Anand's Team.

I ordered a thali. It had no flavor, just like hospital food which is for patients—no salt, no spice...just a mixture of salt and water.

Food is tasty but hygienically they are worst. I have seen the waitress to pick up used tissue from the floor and wiping the table with that same tissue and then she collected the food scattered on the table in an eating bowl.

If you are an indian and expecting the experience of an indian street food, I would not recommend going. However if you want to have a look at what indian food might look like, give it a go. Probably I was expecting way too much and hence dis appointed. Daal kachori: was decent but the chutneys I think were ready made and bought from super market. Chutney did not have the taste you would expect to be served with a kachori. Dahi bhala: was ok. However not keen on trying it the second time. Pav Bhaji : was really dis appointing. It seemed like some peas on a mix veg loaded with just turmeric. It was nothing but a home made sabji. The veggies in the pav bhaji were not mashed and the chef seemed to have missed to add the pav bhaji masala itself. I didn't sense any garlic or ginger paste in it. Pav bhaji was really really disappointing. Shahi paneer : again if u have had a real one in india, you could easily tell the difference. Appeared to be a shahi paneer but didn't taste like one. Go once if you miss the indian menu and have a look. Won't recommend to try it. Sorry for review.

The food is ok but the portions are very small!!! I got a thali but was hungry even after finishing it!

I had my reservations given the mixed reviews (customer service is so important to me) but we wanted some food before going to the Hyde Park Picture House today so we popped in. Not only were the samosas absolutely divine and very reasonably priced, but the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We'll definitely be returning.

It was nice when they first opened this branch at ls6. but service has really gone down now. Few weeks ago I went in to have a snack with my friend but place was really busy all the table were full.We thought it might be some festive day so we can order take out. The waitress was so rude she just said sorry there is no free table and you have to wait really long for take out. Might as well just say on the door “ no take outs allowed if Dine In is full”. Went again for a samosa chat. it was very dry.

Enjoyed the food, perfectly tasty and reasonable priced. Dishes were served at different times across the table which could be inconvenient for some but for a few friends talking and eating this was perfectly fine. There were some quite demanding customers in at the same time as us. We went on a Saturday night and didn't need to wait for a table but it was busy.

I come here for Samosas, Indian sweets, Thali and frozen paneer. Always enjoy the food. My son loves the daal and chai. Cheap, tasty vegetarian food. Never disappoints.

I visited this place yesterday I ordered Plain dosa it was good but request you to please make it soft next time. Then I ordered Dahi bhalla it was amazing 😍 then we ordered shahi paneer and methi paratha it was delicious 😋 And also we ordered Samosa it was freshly made will visit again..... Raghav

Went to Anand Sweets just for some soan papdi, but seeing the menu, decided to try their veg varieties. If you're craving delicious Indian flavors, this is the place. In a group of 5, we enjoyed aloo paratha, paneer paratha, pulao rice, matar paneer, masala dosa, masala tea, pani puri, garlic naan, and more. Words can't describe how tasty and affordable it was—we paid only 57 pounds. The interior is well-maintained, and the service is friendly. Overall, an extremely satisfying experience.

Yum Yum Yum! Affordable and delicious special thali, good variety of dishes. Mixed Paratha was served nice and hot, tasted great too!
