It is a couple of years since we have visited the Amroth Arms - we recall having good food there - we weren’t disappointed on our return! The gammon, steak and especially the lasagna were exceptional. Good portions served in a friendly manner ~ two of us had the old fashioned sherry trifle - you could actually taste the sherry! We enjoyed it so much we wanted to bring our families there (7 adults) but as they were not taking any booking - just adhoc drop ins - and we could not guarantee a table - they missed out on business and we missed out on delicious food - such a shame.

Can't really give this place a proper score / review as we turned up yesterday with 2 well behaved dogs only to be told dogs weren't allowed in to the place after a certain time. You need to make this clear, Amroth Arms, especially for people travelling a distance to get to you. Where does it state this important bit of detail on line?? Very irritating!

Most staff were friendly but unfortunately one lady asked us to put our dog on the floor and off the bench seat. (They had a sign saying no dogs on furniture but we carry a special cover so our timid pooch can sit next to me.) This was fine but her attitude was quite hostile. (Not sure if she was expecting an argument?) I could have looked past this but the fish and chips were tasteless, dry and withered. The meal was overpriced (typical for the area it seems) and all character has been removed from the pub so it's like sitting in a soulless café. It was clean though. I'd keep driving and go to The New Inn instead which looks unpromising from the outside but was actually really cosy inside. Same price food but lovely pub grub. Friendlier service.

In a lovely spot by the sea, a great place for coffee , drink or meal right on the beach in good weather, or in the pleasant bar with open log fire on cooler days Typical pub menu. Generous portions. We had lunch, and although they were busy, service very quick. Crab salad excellent. Also fish and chips.

Enjoyable pub food in a great location. We were there on a rainy day so everyone inside rather than at outdoor tables and it was packed - they don't take bookings in the summer so you may not get a table, particularly on a wet day, although it's large enough with good service, so you probably won't have to wait too long for a table to become free. Only downside was that they had run out of some items which meant one family member (likes fairly plain food) struggled to find something they wanted. But the steak and ale pie and plum crumble were voted as two of the food highlights of our 10-day holiday.

Came with wife to have a Sunday lunch. Got a table by the window, with great view of the sea. Great ales, lagers and wines. Sunday lunch was a generous helping. I had pork, wife had lamb. Both enjoyed. rich, dark gravy and a huge yorkshire pudding. Had been here for drinks only the day before. 5 stars. We will be back soon. Paul and Toria, Caerffili.

Popped in the other day for the bacon roll and coffee special served up to midday, used to be £5, now it's £7 YT you get three rashers if quality butchers con, not bad really when you factor in the choice of coffee from flat white to espresso. Today we went for lunch and had sandwiches. Wife had cheese and onion and I had cheese and ham I added chips to mine for £3, (they're £4 as a side). Both sandwiches were really good and served with salad, coleslaw and crisps, the ham was nice, thick ham like you get from a quality butcher. The chips, imho, are the best in West Wales, just like the chips my mom used to do in the 70's. We will be back. Thank you

Stopped for a drink and bite to eat whilst walking the coastal path. We ate outside across the road from the pub. Beautiful sea views! Ordered the fish finger sandwich at £15.50 and it was worth every penny. The menu doesn’t say it but they are homemade fish fingers. Three chunky soft stunning fish fingers in a bun with chips salad and homemade coleslaw. Service was fantastic and although we sat outside the inside is lovely, modern, coastal feeling and the toilets were super clean. We’d definitely reccomend and will be back next time we’re in the area!!

We went to the Pub because the website says it is Dog Friendly. IT IS NOT!! On arriving in the pub there is a notice that says Dog friendly after 4:00pm. The pub closes at 5:00. Why not say this on the website. It seems it is only dog tolerant at certain times. Very disappointing. Staff were also very dismissive of us asking!! Not a good place for dog owners

Very warm welcoming pub. Beautiful fire as you walk in the door which makes for perfect ambience.i then ordered myself a drink and the bar staff were very accommodating so i decided to have a meal as i was there. The menu itself is a very good menu and has been well thought out. Seems to cater for all age groups I had a prawn cocktail starter which I was impressed with because the size of what I got was more than adequate . Then for my main I decided to try something different the breaded chicken schnitzel. The meal was very delicious and something I would happily order again. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a relaxing meal which you can eat in your own time and not feel rushed to eat and go as other pubs do on occasions. I feel that the chef deserves a shout out aswell because the food is all hot and on this time it was busy night and everything was perfect. I WILL BE RETURNING

At 76 the first rule of hiking is to find somewhere flat as a pancake and the Pembrokeshire coastal path offers plenty of opportunities. But the walk from Saundersfoot to Amroth turned out to be a hilly challenge. So I arrived in desperate need of a pint and a good pub lunch. There’s plenty of choice in Amroth but we settled in the Amroth Arms - and it proved to be one of the very best choices of our holiday. A thirst quenching pint of the local Tenby brew really was nectar of the gods and the meal that followed was pure ambrosia. We both chose the Seafarer’s Basket consisting of deep fried cod chunks, salt & pepper squid, calamari , butterflied prawns and wholetail scampi with salad, chips and sauces. Every morsel was delicious and the calamari was the best either of us could ever remember eating. Our only complaint was that we’d eaten so much that we couldn’t face any of the delicious sounding puds. Sincere thanks to all the friendly and welcoming staff - and the chef. Couldn’t face that hilly walk back so we scrambled our way across the rocks on the beach. A perfect Pembrokeshire day.

Staff are lovely! Friendly and helpful. Place is spotlessly clean. Great views. Good beer. BUT THE FOOD IS AWFUL! It's nearly all fish based. 16 quid for the squid based meal. Sparse portions. Really sparse (left feeling hungry) and it was awful. Someone needs to teach the chef how to cook squid, what little there was of it. Tiny portions. Horrifically overpriced and cooked badly. The portions in all the meals was ridiculously small when compared to the New Inn a few yards along the road. Minimal choice and terrible food. But the staff were wonderful and nice. We ate at 4 pubs in Amroth and this was by far the worse. And it's a shame because everything else was fabulous. Would not recommend for food and would never eat here again despite loving the pub. Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.

It was a rainy Sunday in Pembrokeshire. We were hungry, and a Google search pointed this place out. We almost knew what to expect and fancied a chinnese. Anyone with physical limitations do not try to access. No lights to the path and pitch dark. Once you're in it's cold and sparse. A few tables to accommodate sit downs but this place runs mostly on take aways. The cook was very busy. A young man taking orders, serving and dealing with customers coming in and out. Bit chaotic. We kept our coats on ate our dishes, which were nicer than expected. Worth a venture ... some fun a bit like faulty towers. We would go back.
