First visit in many years and the whole experience was excellent, from the food to the service

Quite possibly one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited. Service and food were exceptional. Definitely worthy of another visit in the future.

I should have sent back the prawns but unfortunately, on this occasion I was too British. The sauce was delicious but the king prawns were disgusting. Overcooked and devoid of any flavour. A very disappointing meal. The starter was very good but the side salad was approximately a day past serving evident by bits of slime. Husband's lamb bhunjon was apparently very good.

Very good food....tasty...reasonable price.

Always a great meal here. Delicious food and the service is spot on.

First time here in many years. Firstly the positives. The food was amazing. Hot and full of flavour. The negatives not many but this could have elevated the evening from a good evening with friends to a great evening. They need to be more attentive. Service was initially slow and we had to ask to give our ordered. More pickles should have been put on table for the size of our table. We had to keep getting their attention wherever we wanted a drink. Ordered a Baileys at end of night and only gave me a 25ml measure instead of the 50ml you get most places. Keema garlic naan was undercooked inside and forgot peshwari naan which came near the end of us eating. Still paid the service charge for the food.

Excellent Indian restaurant! The dishes are qualitative and tasty.

My self and three others went there on Saturday night after a day at the coast and we all wanted a curry so we ordered three biryanis one main vegetable curry main and some nans. The food was so bland and tasteless and the pilaf rilau was cooked with out turmeric which gives it the yellow color and nice smell. It was a waist of £98.

Ordered on line for 6.30 delivery. After waiting until 7,phoned to be told driver should be 5 mins. Food eventually arrived 50 mins late. Driver said he left base after 7,Items missing and driver unaware of booked time. Why bother with a delivery time on website if it'll be ignored. Food OK but worst service of any food delivery we've had.

We went Saturday night without a booking, but they were able to seat us. We had to wait a long time for our food (approximately an hour) because they were very busy. We both ended up with food poisoning (thankfully only a mild case, but Sunday was a wash out.

Only used for takeaway so far ,but absolutely delicious food !

Had to wait an hour and 40 mins for the food and when it came out it was cold. Small portions for the amount they charge. Load the mixed grill up with lettuce leaves instead of meat. Won’t be visiting again I’m afraid!

Evening meal with friends, food was delicious and plenty of it. Staff were very professional and friendly, will certainly return.

Absolutely amazing food, portion sizes of the rise were a little small and was slightly higher in price range. 4 adults with soft drinks, no starters and 4 mains and 3 puddings was £135.

Finally a good local Indian restaurant again

We came here for my friend’s graduation dinner and we enjoyed everything that was served. From the rice, to the chicken, vindaloo and the Naan bread. The sticky toffee pudding was such a generous portion size it could feed 3! ☺️

Had a takeaway so not sure about the atmosphere and service but the food was delicious! Butter chicken was good and a decent portion size! Slow cooked lamb was very nice. The best Indian I’ve had for a long time.

Went two nights in a row during a work trip. It was that good.

We are visiting family in the area and had a take away from Amesbury Tandoori tonight. We had several starters, Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken, Vindaloo and Madras. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The service was on time and extremely friendly. Highly recommended!

Ate here for the first time and found it be be very tasty. service was also good for most part except for one. I did notice the server serving the food with his thumb in every bowl which was a bit off putting.

Our nearest Indian restaurant. Bought a takeaway which was the first time we have used it. Staff seemed helpful and friendly. The food was very good. Looking around the restaurant it looked very plain without much atmosphere. Very clean and tidy though.

We had a midweek curry here, was brilliant. Great spicey masala and rice with a cracking naan bread. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

The restaurant is clean and has good spacing between tables. Didnt feel crammed at all. The service was outstanding. Very polite and had given good recommendations on the food. The food was amazing! No fault at all. Highly recommend this for a nice meal out.

Takeaway was extremely disappointing. Naan bread was thick and doughy, the poppadoms were so greasy they were inedible. Chicken tikka balti flavour profile was all wrong - tasted like a whole pot of white pepper had been added to it so rendered it inedible, and the lamb madras had a very thin sauce. The onion salad was rough cut in big chunks, and the mango sauce was really odd. Won't be going back.

Staying locally and from out of town. We fancied an Indian and this place looked amazing. We popped down and was treated by very welcoming staff. Unfortunately they had a power issue just after we arrived and the extractor fan kept tripping the power. The owner was trying very hard to rectify the issue. The was very accommodating during this issue, gave us both a drink and a few popadoms etc on the house whist we waited. Great staff and great hospitality. We are returning to the area late January and will definitely be returning.

The Tandoori in Amesbury wilts, is a very nice or excellent restaurant. The mood feeling inside very friendly, friendly staff cattering your every need. The food is excellent and lots of it. My friends and i really enjoy a evening at Amesbury Tandoori, you no what they say, good mood, good food, good company. I'll give it 5.

Having moved from Penton Corner near Andover two years ago we have been searching for an Indian restaurant that offers the same food and service as our previous two favourites, The Goa at Everleigh and the Pink Olive at Weyhill. The pink olive was walking distance and was a regular due to location, food and staff. We visited Amesbury Tandoori for the first time since moving to the Salisbury area and we surprised to be welcomed on arrival by one of the owners of the pink olive. He has taken over from his parents, leaving his brother to run the pink olive. The food and service were as expected and hoped for. The restaurant was spotless, bright with a good atmosphere. The food was excellent and would recommend to all.

Visited with my girlfriend for a dinner service from one of them was really bad not happy at all very abrupt and harsh. Food was decent it could have been better if it wasn't warmed up in the microwave chips were awful definitely waste of money. We got told that it would be taken of the bill when we spoke with someone but it was charged anyway as something different they thought that we weren't intelligent enough for us to understand also we asked for a small glass of wine which is 125ml if they don't know but we got charged for a medium which is 175ml and the guy who served us was definitely really not nice towards us and I would say really dodgy. If they did what we got told we might gave them a second chance as we live local but now definitely not and they went through all this trouble just to make 6.00£ more for a business. They could just wipe that off the bill and charged accordingly and they would have us back. Not a good experience.

Food was incredible, chicken was tender as per usual from this llace, only thing that let them down was 1 particular waiter came across as he couldnt be bothered

Very welcoming and friendly staff. I ordered the Goan chicken curry and it was absolutely delicious! One of the best curries I've ever had.

Really great resto, staff is really friendly, prices are resonnables and food is tasty 😊 That's probably not the best indian I tested, but it is a good one!

Amesbury Tandoori has been our family's fave Indian restaurant eversince. We held our Work Staff Christmas party here recently and everybody went home happy and satisfied. The food is great , the service is very good and the restaurant itself is clean and has a nice ambiance.

We met old school mates at this Restaurant on Saturday November 20th. This is very good place to eat, can't fault the Service or the Food. Excellent.

This place looks so lovely and would definitely recommend eating here, it’s close walking distance and very warm and lovely. The staff are smiley and welcoming and the food is delightful! It took a bit of time to get our food but hey these people are human ! And I was definitely worth the wait. Had a lovely my time!

Had a truly outstanding takeaway from here. I'm vegetarian and often the veggie dishes in restaurants lack flavour. Not here! The Tarka Dahl was one of the best I've ever had, the vegetable Korai and Bhuna were delicious, and so was the mushroom rice. Lots of vegan and gluten-free options too. Staff were very friendly and the newly refurbished restaurant looks great. Can't wait to go back and eat there.

We ordered a takeaway from there and it was the best I have had in the area. I ordered the garlic and chilli chicken, which was piping hot, my wife had the vegetable curry which was also good. The food was not too oily and tasted fresh and flavourful. I will definitely go back there.

Had a meal here recently and it was absolutely gorgeous. I did have a different meal to usual and I loved it. Staff were very friendly and restaurant is lovely

it appears there is less on the menu and it is expensive for an Indian

Appalling, waited the best part of two hours for a delivery when I was told it would be 45 mins. When I phoned after an hour I was told ‘the driver had driven through a puddle and was stranded’ so had to change driver. They would take off £8 from my bill and my food would be a max of 15mins. I waited a further 35 mins and rang again to be fobbed off again to which I told them to stick it and hung up. Was a lovely place when it first opened but I’ll never have food from there again! If I hadn’t had a a few drinks I’d have gone to the best curry house around by far, the Shah Jahan in Salisbury. Oh and by the way, had to give 1 star to be able to post this review, otherwise it would be zero stars!

Been here multiple times, very good, down to earth and friendly staff - always willing to chat whilst maintaining fast service. Food quality is more than my expectations and everything is handled well.
